In the present scenario where there is an excessive of one time use of plastics and the excessive usage of non-biodegradable materials, the natural fiber composites find an irreplaceable role in research and engineering design. The natural fibers which have been used in this experiment are luffa fibers, coir and date leaves The reinforced epoxy resin LY 556 matrix composites have been prepared by hand lay-up method with luffa fiber, date leaves which are treated with different volume fraction of two fibers along with coir in the ratios of 5(Luffa): 3(Date Leaves): 2(coir) with composition ratio as 5:2:3, 3:5:2, 3:2:5, 2:3:5 and 2:5:3 respectively. The present study is about the water absorbing capacity of luffa fiber in different component ratio and the effect of water absorption in luffa fiber, coir and date leaves along with different mechanical properties is studied.
