To attain the desired objective, after presenting an inevitable, brief overview of Blockchain technology, the collected papers have closely been analyzed along seven key research questions. Subsequently, vital valuable findings, such as the top 10 influential papers, yearly publications and citation trends, the favorite publication venues, the hottest research areas, and the most supportive funding bodies are reported, which may offer several implications about the status quo and emerging trends and frontiers of Blockchain, to guide towards establishing a baseline for both fresh and experienced researchers and practitioners before initiating a future research project on Blockchain. Furthermore, a rigorous discussion is provided on Blockchain application in diversified domains, along with different versatile use cases. Abstract: Spirituality is often explained in the nursing literature as the patient''s quest to find meaning in life and in their experiences. This is most often described in an unlimited and unconditional way defined by whatever interpretations the person places upon it. This opens it to a variety of understandings, some of which may be negative and unhelpful in terms of what we usually consider to be spiritual well being. This discussion paper attempts to look beyond the generality of this idea to examine whether our concept of having meaning, if used in terms of spirituality, should be conditional on meanings which are actually to do with the depth of our being and not meanings which only give pleasure and satisfaction. The paper attempts to do this in two ways. First it explores the beliefs of Victor Frankl to ask the question whether having meaning alone is sufficient to provide spiritual comfort or whether the content of the particular beliefs associated with meaning, may matter. Frankl is often used as a source for the idea of spirituality being to do with meaning and in this paper Frankl''s thought is explored in detail to see his own underlying beliefs which helped in his life experiences. Secondly, an understanding of ‘meaning’ as being conditioned by something “ultimate” described by Paul Tillich is explored. This would give nursing a more structured and purposeful approach to using the term ‘meaning’ in relation to spiritual care and in addition it would open up a way forward in terms of researching which particular meanings might be most helpful in illness and adversity. There has been a lot of discussion about Heisenberg's Umdeutung paper of 1925, which is universally credited as the first formulation of modern quantum mechanics. Much of this discussion has been characterized by puzzlement over the manner in which Heisenberg arrived at his formulation, supposedly through Bohr's atomic theory in conjunction with two philosophical principles, namely the Correspondence Principle and the Observability Principle. I provide textual, contextual, and philosophical evidence that the "prescriptive-dynamical framework" – recently advocated in the literature on independent grounds – is the perfect perspective from which to understand Heisenberg's work and the significance of the two principles he utilized to arrive at it. Versailles literature, a newly immerged genre on Chinese social media, is aptly defined as "humblebragging": bloggers showing off different aspects of themselves in a humble way. Previous research on the genre have focused on the "humble" part of the genre, arguing that the different strategies bloggers use to appear humble are for the purpose of appearing to be modest, a key value in Chinese politeness. But do the bloggers achieve that end, i.e., does humblebragging improve the self-image of the humblebraggers? In this paper, we report on an empirical study on this question and find that Versailles literature posters do not improve their self-image via humblebragging. In fact, evidence suggests that their image is damaged. Instead of appearing to be humble, these posters are perceived as showing and hypocritic. The paper studies the spatial reuse in IEEE 802.11ax networks over propagation models in ns3. The propagation models used in the study include the Friis model, the Nakagami model, and the combination of the two models. The results show that not all access points in an area benefit from the spatial reuse, and some even lose throughput. These results introduce the question of how to justify the spatial reuse for those access points who lose throughput, although the total throughput of the access points in the area benefits from the spatial reuse in general. The results also show that the total throughput gains heavily depend on the physical environment of the networks as the environment determines the signal propagation in the networks. The results show that an environment of significant attenuation plus multipath fading offers significant throughput gains for the access points as a whole. So, in this work, a comprehensive approach is proposed based on an abstractive form of text summarization using the seq2seq encoder-decoder model combined with a stacked LSTM layer with an attention mechanism and a T5 transformer model pre-processor. Authors are often influenced by historical experience and personal habits when selecting keywords in composing papers, and tend to choose specific keywords, resulting in a phenomenon of conformity bias. In order to improve the accuracy of literature recommendation services, it is crucial to effectively identify and eliminate the adverse effects of conformity bias. Based on the definition of a measurement for the degree of impact of conformity bias using conformity width, this paper designs an effective method for eliminating conformity bias based on one-class implicit access information. At the same time, this method further utilizes the author's own keyword preference information based on explicit weight of keywords and achieves the comprehensive fusion of various effective user access information through the design of a model. The experimental results validated the phenomenon of conformity bias in the composing process of scholars, and comprehensively analyzed and compared the characteristics and advantages of the algorithm proposed in this paper. The literature on patent analysis is quite extensive, containing a wide variety of studies. The idea has been widely discussed in the literature in recent years as innovation and globalization have increased in frequency in studies. The literature does not contain any research that integrates content analysis with bibliometric mapping analysis, despite the fact that a number of studies have been conducted on the subject. Hence, within the parameters of this study, a bibliometric mapping analysis of 1006 papers covering "patent analysis" and indexed in the Web of Science database, as well as a content analysis of the 50 most cited papers, was conducted. Therefore, this paper aims to determine the common words, keywords, journals published, authors, and universities of affiliation of 1006 studies, focusing on the 50 most cited studies. The study shows that "technology" is most frequently used as a word in summary and keywords. The reason for this can be explained by the fact that technology has the greatest impact on patenting. A redundant transport network enhances the utility of transport services users by offering multiple alternative modes capable of supporting and substituting for each other when one becomes temporarily unavailable. The objective of this paper is to present empirical evidence of the role redundancy may play in e-scooter sharing services when transit services face temporary disruptions. To achieve this, we analyzed trip data from e-scooter sharing services in Turin, Italy, to assess the impact of seven transit strike events on both the frequency counts and the average length of e-scooter trips. The results indicate a substitution effect between transit and e-scooters during transit disruptions. This redundancy pattern follows a spatial distribution characterized by a distance-decay function from transit stops, resulting in a significant increase (+89%) in trips originating in the vicinity of transit stops during a strike event. This paper contributes to the literature by providing empirical evidence of the e-scooter-to-transit redundancy and its spatial heterogeneity, further defining the complementary/competitive relationship between these two modes. Policymakers and planners can enhance the resilience of urban transport networks by considering dynamic fleet management that anticipates transit disruptions and failures while better accommodating the demand shock of e-scooter sharing services. This paper is the introduction to a cluster of articles on Cultural Biopolitics in Russia. After providing an overview of biopolitical theory and its recent applications to the study of Russian history and politics, the author introduces the notion of "cultural biopolitics" as a theoretical bridge between biopolitical theory and cultural studies. Culture is conceived as a realm of "soft" power in which biopolitical rationalities are reinforced or challanged. Given its many historical entanglements with power, Russian culture in particular provides a rich field of inquiry for scholars of modern biopolitics. Literary Futures is an approach to futures work that draws on foundational works of world literature and literary analysis to engage creatively in futures thinking. This paper details the Literary Futures method, from its conceptual development to its practical application in a series of workshops. Through an analysis of the experiences of over 130 Literary Futures workshop participants, we highlight the ways in which narrative and works of fiction can offer a generative and participatory approach to futures thinking that emphasises and enables agency, while also embracing felt engagement. The paper illustrates how character development and collaborative worldbuilding make the Literary Futures method a valuable decision-making tool for contributing to futures work across a range of policy and planning contexts. The purpose of this paper is to study the existence and well-posedness of the α -core for generalized fuzzy games. First, we obtain α -core existence result with a weaker condition compared with Kajii's literature [7]. After that, we introduce a new concept of strong well-posedness which unified Tykhonov well-posedness and Levitin-Polyak well-posedness, and prove that generalized fuzzy games have generalized strong well-posedness. The aim of this paper is to study semi-t-operators on bounded lattices. A series of construction methods of semi-t-operators on bounded lattices are given by using semi-triangular (co)norms (semi-t-(co)norms for short) and order-preserving functions on bounded lattices, and it is shown that the methods obtained in this paper can cover several construction methods existing in the literature. By analyzing the properties of the constructed semi-t-operators, we further obtain the equivalent characterizations for their corresponding representations. According to Bourdieu's theory, literary prizes are those specific authorities which contribute in the long run to the conversion of symbolic capital into economic capital. The Nobel Prize played a major role in the unification of a relatively autonomous international literary space, as described by Casanova. It helped create a new canon of world literature, as the Nobel prize winners were widely translated. But whereas Casanova places the emphasis on autonomy, this paper underscores the relative heteronomy that this award conveys. Literary authorities negotiate between autonomous and heteronomous criteria, be they ideological or economic. This paper examines how the symbolic capital of the Nobel Prize has served to reinforce modes of domination. The intersectional and Western domination which biased the selection of laureates slowly evolved into more diversity and inclusiveness. Concentrating on the three last decades, which correspond to the globalization era, we observe however that despite the growing inclusion of non-Western authors, it is the dominant Western cultural intermediaries (publishers and literary agents) who mostly capitalize the symbolic and economic profit of the prize. Hydrodynamic theory of hypervelocity penetration is widely used to describe the penetration of long rods because of its simplicity and computational efficiency. In this paper, the penetration resistance is evaluated from the crater size generated by hypervelocity impact and is combined with one-dimensional analytical model to predict DOP (depth of penetration). Then, a computational formulation for change of energy per unit DOP is derived and the influences of different parameters on DOP are analysed. At last, in the multi-layer target, the effect of the layer arrangement is considered from the energetic point of view. The method for determining the effective arrangement of material layers with maximum energy variation is proposed. Abstract Various surveys reveal that many stakeholders deem current sustainability performance measurement and assessment approaches insufficient for their needs. In light of the large and growing number of publications, this exposes a major practice-research gap. To explore the gap between the flourishing number of publications and the disappointment of stakeholders, this paper analyzes how current literature on sustainability performance measurement and assessment addresses stakeholder expectations. Based on a systematic literature review, the paper distinguishes stakeholders and their expectations on different roles in the sustainability performance measurement and assessment process: standard setters, process enablers, information providers, impacted stakeholder, decision makers, and addressees. The analysis of individual roles reveals that stakeholder expectations are rarely specifically considered; in particular, expectations of decision makers have received little attention in the literature, so far. This paper systematically categorizes the expectations expressed in the academic literature and critically discusses current gaps. The literature review shows that stakeholder expectations have not been considered in depth, which is a possible explanation for the dissatisfaction of stakeholders with current sustainability performance measurement and assessment approaches. Implications for bridging the gap are drawn, including the need for empirical analyses of expectations relating to different stakeholder roles in sustainability measurement and assessment processes. Abstract This study reviews the green supply chain management (GSCM) literature and proposes a comprehensive view of the structural associations amongst the GSCM factors, viz. drivers, practice indicators and performance measures. The HistCite software was used to perform bibliometric citation meta-analysis on a sample of 1523 articles, obtained from the ISI Web of Science database. Influential journals, institutions, and trending articles in the GSCM research are revealed. Co-citation analysis coupled with content analysis of the 39 most cited articles identified six underlying research streams, namely (a) conceptual development and sense-making, (b) GSCM impact on performance, (c) integration of green and sustainable operations in the supply chain, (d) green supplier development, (e) GSCM implementation drivers, and (f) review and future research directions. This further led to proposing a comprehensive conceptual framework with logically grouped factors, and directing relationships among the groups. Finally, future research directions claimed by the trending articles in the field were aligned with the findings of the key papers, and an approach to perform non-myopic GSCM research in the future is suggested. Abstract Introduction The purpose of this study was to use a mixed-methods approach to provide evidence for growth in empathy, respect for patient autonomy, ability to relate to others, and self-awareness as a result of participating in a health humanities course. Methods The mixed-methods approach gathered quantitative data using a quasi-experimental design of a pre/post course survey and qualitative data from reflective writings and student papers. The reflective writings and student papers were evaluated using an adapted rubric to assess the quality of the reflections on measures of empathy, respect for patient autonomy, ability to relate to others, and self-awareness. Results Twenty-five students were enrolled in the course. Matched pair data was available from 22 students (88% response rate) for the quantitative survey data. Qualitative data was available from all 25 participants. The pre- and post-course surveys revealed a statistically significant increase in empathy (p < 0.001) as a result of completing the health humanities course. The final written report contained the highest quality of reflections compared to all other reflective writing assignments. Evidence for understanding empathy was prominent in the final written report. Conclusions The evaluation of development of interpersonal skills through use of health humanities resources may be reproduced by using a mixed-methods assessment approach. The quantitative and qualitative data presented provide some evidence for enhancing awareness and understanding of empathy, particularly by utilizing health humanities resources in an undergraduate interdisciplinary seminar course. An integrative literature review critiques and synthesizes representative literature on a topic in order to reveal new perspectives. An analysis of extant reviews (2002–2013) of transitions to school literature led to the identification of four theoretical perspectives of transitions: developmental, ecological, socio-cultural, and critical; and six recurrent concepts across these perspectives. These perspectives and concepts were used to develop the conceptual framework for the integrative review of transitions literature published between 2000 and 2015. Subsequent to the critique and analysis processes required by an integrative literature review, the findings revealed three significant shifts across this period of time: i) ecological and socio-cultural perspectives and relationships concepts now influence concepts of transitions more strongly than developmental perspectives and readiness concepts, ii) an evolving representation of critical perspectives that offers new insights into socially just approaches to transitions to school, and (iii) the emergence of the concept of continuity. Finally, the paper reports new perspectives of transitions to school that seek to address persistent concerns of (dis) continuity within the literature. In this paper, we provide a unified approach to investigating Besov regularity and the optimum estimate for bilevel variational inequality problems on cylindrical domains. This method is effective even with limited summary data available, demonstrating its practicality. The novelty of our approach resides in the treatment of subquadratic growth conditions associated with the gradient variable. We extend our exploration to more challenging geometric configurations, such as a cylinder with a rough base. These configurations introduce novel challenges arising from lateral boundary conditions—an aspect yet unaddressed in prior literature. Further enhancing the relevancy of our approach, we explore its practical applications by establishing higher differentiability results for solutions to the aforementioned problem. Background: This paper considers the pleasures of psychedelic drugs and proposes a Deleuzian understanding of drugged pleasures as affects. In spite of a large body of work on psychedelics, not least on their therapeutic potentials, the literature is almost completely devoid of discussions of the recreational practices and pleasures of entheogenic drugs. Yet, most people do not use psychedelics because of their curative powers, but because they are fun and enjoyable ways to alter the experience of reality.Methods: In the analytical part of the paper, I examine 100 trip reports from an internet forum in order to explore the pleasures of tripping.Results: The analyses map out how drugs such as LSD and mushrooms - in combination with contextual factors such as other people, music and nature - give rise to a set of affective modifications of the drug user's capacities to feel, sense and act.Conclusion: In conclusion it is argued that taking seriously the large group of recreational users of hallucinogens is important not only because it broadens our understanding of how entheogenic drugs work in different bodies and settings, but also because it may enable a more productive and harm reductive transmission of knowledge between the scientific and recreational psychedelic communities. Retractions of erroneous and fraudulent papers from the biomedical literature continue to be a major concern. The aim of this analysis is to summarize trends of retractions in the cardiovascular literature over the past four decades. A review of the Retraction Watch database for retracted articles published between 1978 and 2020 in the cardiovascular literature was performed. Retractions with the term "medicine" in the subject code were selected. Titles and abstracts were reviewed and only retractions of articles in cardiovascular medicine and surgery were included. 459 retraction notices published in 228 journals were identified. The number of retractions increased with time from 1 in 1991 to 48 at the end of 2019 (P < 0.001). Overall, the yearly percentage of retraction increased during the study period (P < 0.001) but decreased after 2015. China had the highest percentage of retractions when compared to other countries (P < 0.001). The majority of articles were retracted for scientific misconduct (n = 289, 63.0%); retractions due to scientific misconduct increased significantly over the study period (P = 0.04) but decreased after 2015. The median time from publication to retraction was 1.4 years (interquartile range [IQR]: 0.6–3.8) and decreased significantly over time (P < 0.001). The median number of citations of retracted articles was 8.0. The number of retractions and the yearly percentage of retraction in the cardiovascular literature increased significantly during the study period, although a decrease was seen after 2015. Scientific misconduct represents the most common reason for retraction, although a reduction has been observed in the last five years. In this paper, I discuss explicit performative sentences and, in particular, those containing the explicit performative verb “to promise.” I argue that one of the key features of explicit performative verbs is their utterance-reflexive character. In a minimal context, an utterance like “I promise I will finish the paper” can be taken either as an explicit performative utterance, a promise, or as an assertion, which does not constitute a promise but a report of one. An utterance like “I promise now I will finish the paper,” however, in a minimal context, should be taken as an explicit performative. To explain this, I use Prior and Kamp's work on “now” ( Prior, 1968; Kamp, 1971 ) and Korta and Perry's content pluralism ( Korta and Perry, 2011 ). I defend that the role “now” plays when embedded in a performative sentence is consistent with the role it plays when embedded in a temporal operator. This paper presents a comprehensive review of power management strategy (PMS) utilized in hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) with an emphasis on model predictive control (MPC) based strategies for the first time. Research on MPC-based power management systems for HEVs has intensified recently due to its many inherent merits. The categories of the existing PMSs are identified from the latest literature, and a brief study of each type is conducted. Then, the MPC approach is introduced and its advantages are discussed. Based on the acquisition method of driver behavior used for state prediction and the dynamic model used, the MPC is classified and elaborated. Factors that affect the performance of the MPC are put forward, including prediction accuracy, design parameters, and solvers. Finally, several important issues in the application of MPC-based power management strategies and latest developing trends are discussed. This paper not only provides a comprehensive analysis of MPC-based power management strategies for HEVs but also puts forward the future and emphasis of future study, which will promote the development of energy management controller with high performance and low cost for HEVs. Objective: The objective of this study was to conduct a survey of the academic contribution and influence of Chinese scholars in the field of burns.Method: The PubMed database was searched to obtain literature items originating from various countries and Chinese provinces from 1985 to 2014. The citation data were collected through the Google Scholar engine.Results: A total of 1037 papers published in 256 journals were included in this survey. China was second only to the USA in the number of publications on burns since 2010. In addition, the annual number of papers has increased significantly since 2001. The journal Burns published the most number of articles, but its proportion has been decreasing. Of the papers included in the survey, 58.34% were published in journals with a 5-year impact factor between 1 and 2, whereas only 3.66% were published in journals with an impact factor >5. Both total citations and citations per paper have decreased in the past decade. Randomized controlled trials or systematic reviews merely accounted for a small proportion. Twenty-nine provinces including 64 cities contributed one paper at least. The publications from Taiwan, Beijing, Chongqing, Shanghai, and Guangdong were high in both quantity and quality.Conclusion: The Chinese academic contribution to the field of burns is now on a rise. This paper focuses on the following problem: Given a large number of unlabeled face images, group them into individual clusters, and the number of clusters cannot be known in advance. To this end, an Efficient Density-based clustering incorporated with the model of Graph partitioning (EDG) is proposed. 1. Inspired by the progress of graph partitioning clustering, a novel criterion that can be seen as a variant of the Normalized-cut model is employed to measure the similarity between two samples. 2. We only consider the similarities and connections on a subset of all possible pairs, i.e. the top- K nearest neighbors for each sample. Therefore, the computing and storage costs are linear w.r.t. the number of samples. In order to assess the performance of EDG on face images, extensive experiments based on a two-stage framework have been conducted on 19 benchmark datasets (14 middle-scale and 5 large-scale) from the literature. There exist situations of decision-making under information overload in the Internet, where people have an overwhelming number of available options to choose from, e.g. products to buy in an e-commerce site, or restaurants to visit in a large city. Recommender systems arose as a data-driven personalized decision support tool to assist users in these situations: they are able to process user-related data, filtering and recommending items based on the user's preferences, needs and/or behavior. Unlike most conventional recommender approaches where items are inanimate entities recommended to the users and success is solely determined upon the end user's reaction to the recommendation(s) received, in a Reciprocal Recommender System (RRS) users become the item being recommended to other users. Hence, both the end user and the user being recommended should accept the "matching" recommendation to yield a successful RRS performance. The operation of an RRS entails not only predicting accurate preference estimates upon user interaction data as classical recommenders do, but also calculating mutual compatibility between (pairs of) users, typically by applying fusion processes on unilateral user-to-user preference information. This paper presents a snapshot-style analysis of the extant literature that summarizes the state-of-the-art RRS research to date, focusing on the algorithms, fusion processes and fundamental characteristics of RRS, both inherited from conventional user-to-item recommendation models and those inherent to this emerging family of approaches. Representative RRS models are likewise highlighted. As a collective approach for achieving economic, environmental, and social effects, industrial symbiosis is considered an important tool to realize a circular economy. In both literature and practice, the need for a third party facilitating the development of these resource exchanges between companies has been highlighted. This paper explores the actions and skills needed for achieving successful facilitation of industrial symbiosis by unfolding the facilitator role. It develops an analytical action-skill framework by systematically examining the relevant literature and conducting an in-depth analysis of a Danish facilitation team, and tests the developed action-skill framework by analyzing experiences obtained from seven facilitators in Nordic countries. In doing so, the study reveals a variety of actions of the industrial symbiosis facilitator that can be identified across literature and practice, belonging to five overarching tasks: Developing linkages, coordinating, capacity & knowledge management, value assessment & distribution, and developing beneficial conditions & scaling up. The results indicate that we observe a role in the process of homogenization. Another contribution is the uncovering of industrial symbiosis facilitator skills. The paper points to five overarching skills that are relevant to the facilitator role: Social skills, work approach, motivation & interest, ethics & responsibility, and knowledge. Subsequently, eight specific tensions between the identified actions are discussed. Advanced process-based applications such as crisis and risk management require Emergent, Collaborative and Flexible (ECF) processes. These three features correspond to specific real-world requirements. Firstly, to face unpredictable situations, emergent processes are needed, i.e. processes whose model/schema is (partially) unknown at design-time and gradually defined/refined at run-time. Secondly, the complexity of the application domain being addressed requires collaborative processes, i.e. processes whose definition and enactment require interactions between groups of actors using their skills and experiences to make the process convergence towards their common goal. Thirdly, to adapt to the frequent changes that occur in their operating environment, flexible processes are needed, i.e. processes whose model/schema can be modified in real time. The objective of this paper is to present a literature review to study the state of the art of process-based systems with a focus on the three above mentioned properties. Our approach is to specify real world requirements, then to discuss the adequacy of current systems to these requirements and finally to provide advices for their improvement. Examined systems fall within the following areas: Business Process Management (BPM), Adaptive Case Management (ACM), Computer Supported Collaborative Work (CSCW) and Knowledge Management (KM). In addition to acquiring a solid foundation of clinical knowledge and skills, nursing students making the transition from lay person to health professional must adopt new conceptual understandings and values, while at the same time reflecting on and relinquishing ill-fitting attitudes and biases. This paper presents creative teaching ideas that utilise published narratives and explores the place of these narratives in teaching threshold concepts to nursing students. Appreciating nuance, symbolism and deeper layers of meaning in a well-drawn story can promote emotional engagement and cause learners to care deeply about an issue. Moreover, aesthetic learning, through the use of novels, memoirs and picture books, invites learners to enter into imagined worlds and can stimulate creative and critical thinking. This approach can also be a vehicle for transformative learning and for enhancing students' understanding and internalisation of threshold concepts that are integral to nursing. Guided engagement with the story by an effective educator can help learners to examine taken-for-granted assumptions, differentiate personal from professional values, remember the link between the story and the threshold concept and re-examine their own perspectives; this can result in transformative learning. In this paper, we show how threshold concepts can be introduced and discussed with nursing students via guided engagement with specific literature, so as to prompt meaningful internalised learning. The geographical value of the work of English novelist Arnold Bennett (1867–1931) has long been recognized by human geographers engaged with creative literature. More recently, Bennett's fiction has attracted the attention of scholars in architectural studies. In this paper I demonstrate the value of a study of Bennett's writings to literary geographers with an interest in the built environment. Bennett's prolific fictional and non-fictional works are permeated with architectural observations ranging from descriptions and critical comments on house interiors, hospital and university complexes and grand hotels to streetscapes and townscapes. I draw on this material to explore the concept of buildings and towns as spatial systems that reflect social and economic values, as well as to consider Bennett's advanced views on form and function in architecture. Frustrated in his youthful ambition to become an architect, Bennett developed an interest in and knowledge of architecture that was stimulated by his friendship with several architects. As a keen observer of the buildings he encountered at home and abroad, he became an adherent and advocate of modern architecture. Like pioneer modern architects, he envisioned buildings as organisms designed to fulfil and visually express their purpose. Bennett's genius in synthesizing multifarious observations of landscapes, townscapes and individual buildings helps us gain a holistic understanding of the built environment based on a sound knowledge of both geography and architecture. Through the lens of Muriel Spark's dark comedic novel, Memento Mori , this paper explores questions of morality, mortality, and the moral choices and performances in old age and in the systems and places of care. Spark's elderly characters are complex moral actors – some virtuous and some decidedly not – who have been receiving mysterious phone calls telling them simply, “Remember you must die.” We, the co-authors, are from two different disciplines, namely Renaissance and medieval literature, and social work and critical gerontology. Among the questions that interest us is the paradox of a master narrative that on the one hand exempts the old from moral criticism yet holds them to a higher moral standard – essentially positioning them as moral nonentities, and relieving the old, their caretakers, and society of moral responsibility. Another is the question of whether moral agency in old age has distinctive aspects, and whether consciousness of one's impending mortality effects moral reasoning and performance. In this paper we offer our individual readings of the ways the novel opens up conceptual space in aging theory, and conclude with our thoughts about what our collaboration suggests for continuing cross-disciplinary dialogue. In this paper, we revisit the multilinear PageRank problem. Under the framework of tensor, we establish several new and tighter uniqueness conditions for the multilinear PageRank vector. Meanwhile, a refined error bound for the inverse iteration as well as the new perturbation bounds under different norms, which improve the existing ones in the current literature, are developed with feasible computations. Suppose that a group of individuals are asked to aggregate their judgments on different—possibly logically interconnected—propositions in order to reach a collective decision. Quota rules are natural aggregation rules requiring that a proposition be collectively accepted if and only if the number of individuals that agree with it exceeds a given threshold. In cases where the individuals may also abstain on some of the issues at stake and report incomplete judgments, there are several ways for determining the relevant threshold, depending on the number of abstentions or the margin between those that agree and those that disagree with a given proposition. In this paper I systematically design quota rules for incomplete inputs, within the framework of judgment aggregation, and explore their formal properties.
