Based on DEA model, this paper analyzes the data of the financial input and scientific and technological output of 20 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities divided by coastal and non-coastal regions from 2006 to 2013 in China, measuring technical efficiency, scale efficiency and pure technical efficiency of financial support for scientific and technological innovation. The conclusion shows that the efficiency which finance supports the scientific and technological innovation presents the increasing trend but inefficiency; this increasing trend mainly depends on the eastern coastal regions, and the inefficiency of the middle non-coastal region is obvious. From the dynamic changes in the efficiency of financial support for science and technology innovation, the number of optimal efficiency has shown the trend of increasing first and then decreasing, and the integration of financial resources and technological innovation may be redundant. The results of empirical analysis show that the model can effectively realize the spatial evolution layout planning and design of the industrial economy of coastal towns with characteristics, and improve the industrial economic benefits and output efficiency of small towns with coastal characteristics. Zheng, Y., 2015. The static and dynamic evaluation on ocean environment performance for Chinese coastal cities. It is necessary to control pollution of the marine environment while improving coastal economy for sustainable developing. But it is difficult to evaluate ocean's changing because of its openness. So the ocean environment performance was proposed in this paper. Combined with data envelopment analysis and product efficiency theory, the static and dynamic methods for measuring the performance were first constructed. In order to analyze the actual situation of Chinese coastal cities and verify the effectiveness of the two methods, the static and dynamic ocean environment performance for Chinese 16 coastal cities were evaluated with these methods. By comparing the actual pollution in the sea area near these cities, the calculated results showed the index and the models designed in this paper can better reflect the effect of the economy to the coastal marine environment. At the same time, combined with the analysis of domestic and foreign practical cases of coastal area public space development. This paper summarizes the experience of planning and construction of public space in coastal areas, and provides reference for the research and optimization of public space in coastal cities. Finally, combining with the interactive design method, this paper analyzes the macro and micro elements of the coastal city public space, and puts forward the optimization idea of the coastal city public space. The Northwest Atlantic margin of Morocco belongs to the huge Gulf of Cadiz complex situated within the boundary of the African and Eurasian tectonic plates. This provides an excellent geological context in which complex mechanisms occur, emphasizing the interconnectedness of geological processes across a larger scale. This study uses a coupled methodology of calibrated industrial seismic lines interpretation and boreholes data collected between the latitudes of Larache and Kenitra cities along the Moroccan Atlantic shelf. The main results show that Neogene structural evolution is dominated by Alpine compressive forces, as evidenced by reverse structures associated with the displacement of the PreRifane Nappe. These structures create space that leads to the development of the facing growth normal fault. Seismic stratigraphy analyses illuminate a Sebou paleo-valley succession, comprising 10 third-order Plio-Quaternary seismic sequences in response to glacio-eustatic cycles. In this paper, VR is introduced to realize the static "copy" of the real scene, and then through the scene animation, UI and other ways to achieve the dynamic effect of the scene, so that users have a sense of immersive. Existing studies on novel urban drainage systems for diffuse pollution control caused by combined sewer overflow and first flush runoff from separated sewer system generally focused on pollution control performances, of which environmental impacts from their life cycle failed to be comprehensively addressed. In this paper, life cycle environmental impacts of three novel urban drainage systems, namely, the combined system with CSO interception and treatment (P1), separate system with first flush interception (P2), and LID-equipped separate system (P3) were assessed. After analysing inventory based on resource and energy consumption, as well as pollutants emission, life cycle environmental impacts were evaluated via SimaPro 8.0 software and CML-IA baseline method associated with China LCI and Ecoinvent 3.0 databases, followed by contribution and sensitivity analysis for interpretation. The results indicated that: (1) The LID-equipped separate system was moderately the best drainage system for diffuse pollution control. (2) For wastewater collection and conveyance subsystems (S1), its operation in the combined system with CSO interception and treatment and its construction in LID-equipped separate system caused large environmental burden. Taking Huzhou as an example, this paper studies the evolution of the natural system of coastal cities in the Taihu Lake River Basin. This research focuses on the formation of urban natural spatial pattern based on the city's natural development mechanism and try to sum up the traditional urban development mode through combining the evolution data of urban natural system in historical period, in order to put forward scientific theory and practical basis for the protection, construction and inheritance of traditional urban natural base in China. Through the field survey and graphic analysis, this article makes an in-depth analysis of the urban development and the evolution of natural system in Huzhou from three aspects: (1) the Urban Development of Ancient Huzhou; (2) the natural urban system of Ancient Huzhou; (3) the exploration of the natural urban development model of Huzhou, and the conclusion is that the relationship between the city and the natural system of Huzhou shows a spiral rise in the process of evolution. This paper studies the interactive mechanism between the characteristic town of Zhejiang Province and the industrial upgrading. We examined how aspects of characteristic town influenced industrial upgrading, such as industry merit-based and synergistic mechanism, mechanism of technological innovation and mechanism of brand effect--high consumption. In a longitudinal, multiple-informant study of characteristic towns in Zhejiang Province, we found that industry merit-based and synergistic mechanism, mechanism of technological innovation and mechanism of brand effect--high consumption and their interrelationships selectively influenced planning and development of a characteristic town. As anticipated, industry merit-based and synergistic mechanism and mechanism of technological innovation positively influenced characteristic town, they can promote industrial transformation and upgrading. Counter to our expectations, however, mechanism of brand effect—high consumption by itself was negatively associated with characteristic town. Coastal zones in small oceanic islands as the Archipelago of the Azores (Portugal) are very sensitive territories severely threatened by climate change, natural disasters, biological invasions, infrastructure and tourism development, and also agriculture intensification. Land-cover/land-use changes are one of the most relevant indicators for monitoring and assessing coastal spatial planning and management policies in insular territories. This paper describes the application of a low-cost Rao's Q diversity index-based remote sensing tool able to provide a systematic and accurate coastal land-cover/land-use monitoring system in small oceanic islands, using free and open access Sentinel-2 multispectral satellite data and Terceira island (Archipelago of the Azores, Portugal) as the case-study area. Results indicate that about 7% (∼300 hectares) of Terceira Island's coastal zone (∼4290 hectares) have changed their land-cover/ land-use between March 2017 and December 2018 (21 months). Gold Coast, Australia, ISSN 0749.0208 The costal zone is a crucial environment that is experiencing pressure from a wide variety of different agents and interests. One key problem in recent decades has been a rapid increase in the number of holiday houses built as close as possible to the seashore. As in the Nordic countries, the historical roots of land use on the Estonian coast go back to ancient society. The original coastal settlements were usually concentrated around naturally suitable harbours. People used the pastures and fishing huts during the summer season. This was an essential part of making an adequate living and was not associated with recreation. The first expansion of villa settlements close to towns took place in the 19th century at Estonia's famous summer resort, Pärnu. Unlike in the Nordic countries where major coastal settlement expansion took place after WWII, almost the entire coast of Estonia was proclaimed the Soviet border zone where people were not allowed to live. Nearly 3,800 km of shoreline, except the coastal cities and a few summer resorts were under the control of Soviet military forces. Revival of coastal land use and a rapid increase of coastal settlements have occurred over the last 10-15 years. This paper focusses on population changes on the coast of Saaremaa Island associated with increasing pressure and conflicts of interests. Objective: Housing status is a primary social determinant of health that is not typically not collected in clinical settings. Residential address data collected during clinical visits can identify patients at high-risk for cardiometabolic disease (CMD) residing in public housing.Design: This study examined CMD and related risk factors among patients living in public housing and a comparison group not living in public housing.Setting: All patients (n=173,568) were receiving primary care in a large hospital system in the Bronx, New York between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2017.Results: Patients in public housing were more likely to be women, to be Black or Hispanic, and to be on Medicaid compared with patients not living in public housing. Women in public housing were more likely than men to have had a higher prevalence of CMD and related risk factors.Conclusion: The burden of CMD among public housing residents shows sex disparities where women have a higher prevalence of CMD and related risk factors than men. The green infrastructure of Setúbal is an environmental and land management planning tool that recognizes the territorial ecological systems and guides in a sustainable way the occupation and transformation of the territory, and it was developed based on three main elements – georeferenced-based information, a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the territory, and technical meetings. The green infrastructure of Setúbal covers about 90% of the municipality – including urban areas –, 30% more than the land covered by other protected areas restrictions owned by the municipality – Arrábida Natural Park, Natural Reserve of Sado Estuary and Natura 2000 Network. As a climate change adaptation tool, this instrument promotes the development of measures that encourages citizens to adopt actions that contribute to the municipality's resilience.
