In response to the intensification of urbanization, characterized by increasingly dense land use, the proliferation of high-rise residences has emerged as a predominant housing solution, particularly evident in developed cities like those in China. With a primary aim of enhancing the residential living environment within high-rise structures, this study advocates for a comprehensive whole life cycle perspective. By employing digital technology and conducting experiments centered on a representative case study, this paper focuses on optimizing the functional layout of public activity spaces within high-rise residential projects. Specifically, this article aims to address challenges such as the inadequate configuration and articulation of various public spaces, along with the underutilization of peripheral activity areas. Central to the optimization efforts is the utilization of the Kruskal algorithm, which enables the analysis of flow lines and functions, ultimately leading to the derivation of optimal solutions. Through a detailed analysis of our case study, this paper provides actionable insights into enhancing the feasibility and effectiveness of public spaces within high-rise residential projects. Recognizing the pivotal role of public space layout in shaping residents' living experiences, the importance of addressing this issue early in the design phase was emphasized. Wild desert grasslands are characterized by diverse habitats, uneven plant distribution, similarities among plant class, and the presence of plant shadows. However, the existing models for detecting plant species in desert grasslands exhibit low precision, require a large number of parameters, and incur high computational cost, rendering them unsuitable for deployment in plant recognition scenarios within these environments. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a lightweight and fast plant species detection system, termed YOLOv8s-KDT, tailored for complex desert grassland environments. Firstly, the model introduces a dynamic convolutional KernelWarehouse method to reduce the dimensionality of convolutional kernels and increase their number, thus achieving a better balance between parameter efficiency and representation ability. Secondly, the model incorporates triplet attention into its feature extraction network, effectively capturing the relationship between channel and spatial position and enhancing the model's feature extraction capabilities. Finally, the introduction of a dynamic detection head tackles the issue related to target detection head and attention non-uniformity, thus improving the representation of the target detection head while reducing computational cost. The experimental results demonstrate that the upgraded YOLOv8s-KDT model can rapidly and effectively identify desert grassland plants. Compared to the original model, FLOPs decreased by 50.8%, accuracy improved by 4.5%, and mAP increased by 5.6%. Currently, the YOLOv8s-KDT model is deployed in the mobile plant identification APP of Ningxia desert grassland and the fixed-point ecological information observation platform. It facilitates the investigation of desert grassland vegetation distribution across the entire Ningxia region as well as long-term observation and tracking of plant ecological information in specific areas, such as Dashuikeng, Huangji Field, and Hongsibu in Ningxia.

A trend in the development of spaceborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) technology is the shift from a single-satellite repeated observation mode to a multi-satellite collaborative observation mode. However, current multi-satellite collaborative geolocation algorithms face challenges, such as geometric model mismatch and poor baseline estimation accuracy, arising from highly dynamic changes among multi-satellites. This paper introduces a high-precision and efficient geolocation algorithm for a spaceborne bistatic interferometric SAR (BiInSAR) system based on an improved range–Doppler (IRD) model. The proposed algorithm encompasses three key contributions. Firstly, a comprehensive description of the spatial baseline geometric model unique to the bistatic configuration is provided, with a specific focus on deriving the perpendicular baseline expression. Secondly, IRD geolocation functions are established to meet the specific requirements of the bistatic configuration. Then, a novel BiInSAR geolocation algorithm based on the IRD's functions is proposed, which can significantly improve the target geolocation accuracy by modifying the range–Doppler equation to suit the bistatic configuration. Meanwhile, a low-coupling parallel calculation method is proposed, which can improve the calculation speed by two to three times. Finally, the accuracy and efficiency of the algorithm are demonstrated using experimental data acquired by the TH-2 satellite, which is China's first spaceborne BiInSAR system. The experimental results prove that the IRD algorithm exhibits geolocation accuracy with an average error of less than 1 m and a standard deviation of less than 2.5 m while maintaining computational efficiency at a calculation speed of 1,429,678 pixels per second. The proper application of machine learning and genetic algorithms in the early stage of library design can obtain better all-around building performance. The all-around performance of the library, such as indoor temperature, solar radiation, indoor lighting, etc., must be fully considered in the initial design stage. Aiming at building performance optimization and based on the method of "generative design", this paper constructs the library's comprehensive performance evaluation workflow and rapid prediction combined with the LightGBM algorithm. A library in a cold region of China is taken as the research object to verify its application. In this study, 5000 scheme samples generated in the iterative genetic optimization process were taken as data sets. The LightGBM algorithm was used to classify and predict design schemes, with a precision of 0.78, recall rate of 0.93, and F1-Score of 0.851. This method can help architects to fully exploit the optimization potential of the building's all-around performance in the initial stage of library design and ensure the timely interaction and feedback between design decisions and performance evaluation. The elderly population in China is continuously increasing, and the disabled account for a large proportion of the elderly population. An effective solution is urgently needed for incontinence among disabled elderly people. Compared with disposable adult diapers, artificial sphincter implantation and medication for incontinence, the defecation pre-warning method is more flexible and convenient. However, due to the complex human physiology and individual differences, its development is limited. Based on the aging trend of the population and clinical needs, this paper proposes a bowel sound acquisition system and a defecation pre-warning method and system based on a semi-supervised generative adversarial network. A network model was established to predict defecation using bowel sounds. Dragon fruit is one of the most popular fruits in China and Southeast Asia. It, however, is mainly picked manually, imposing high labor intensity on farmers. The hard branches and complex postures of dragon fruit make it difficult to achieve automated picking. For picking dragon fruits with diverse postures, this paper proposes a new dragon fruit detection method, not only to identify and locate the dragon fruit, but also to detect the endpoints that are at the head and root of the dragon fruit, which can provide more visual information for the dragon fruit picking robot. First, YOLOv7 is used to locate and classify the dragon fruit. Then, we propose a PSP-Ellipse method to further detect the endpoints of the dragon fruit, including dragon fruit segmentation via PSPNet, endpoints positioning via an ellipse fitting algorithm and endpoints classification via ResNet. To test the proposed method, some experiments are conducted. In dragon fruit detection, the precision, recall and average precision of YOLOv7 are 0.844, 0.924 and 0.932, respectively. YOLOv7 also performs better compared with some other models. In dragon fruit segmentation, the segmentation performance of PSPNet on dragon fruit is better than some other commonly used semantic segmentation models, with the segmentation precision, recall and mean intersection over union being 0.959, 0.943 and 0.906, respectively. In endpoints detection, the distance error and angle error of endpoints positioning based on ellipse fitting are 39.8 pixels and 4.3°, and the classification accuracy of endpoints based on ResNet is 0.92. The proposed PSP-Ellipse method makes a great improvement compared with two kinds of keypoint regression method based on ResNet and UNet. Orchard picking experiments verified that the method proposed in this paper is effective. The detection method proposed in this paper not only promotes the progress of the automatic picking of dragon fruit, but it also provides a reference for other fruit detection.

Grinding is an important link in the process of mineral processing. It plays a vital role in mineral processing by optimizing the grinding process, improving the quality of grinding products and ensuring the follow-up operation indicators. In this paper, the Python language, intelligent theoretical control technology and mineral processing were combined to solve the problem of ore feeding control in mineral processing. Using error factor analysis, an extended control algorithm was designed. The NumPy library and data collected from the Yuan YangMou concentrator in China were used to quantitatively analyze the factors affecting the error of electronic belt scales. This paper introduces the use of Kalman filtering for electronic belt scale weight data to reduce the effect of noise and hence reduce errors. The factors affecting the process of mill feeding are also analyzed. The core ideas and methods of fuzzy control theory are summarized, and a Python-based fuzzy controller suitable for the mill feeding process that improves the overall robustness and accuracy of feeding system is implemented. In landslide disaster warning, a variety of monitoring and warning methods are commonly adopted. However, most monitoring and warning methods cannot provide information in advance, and serious losses are often caused when landslides occur. To advance the warning time before a landslide, an innovative advance landslide prediction and warning model based on a stacking fusion algorithm using Baishuihe landslide data is proposed in this paper. The Baishuihe landslide area is characterized by unique soil and is in the Three Gorges region of China, with a subtropical monsoon climate. Based on Baishuihe historical data and real-time monitoring of the landslide state, four warning level thresholds and trigger conditions for each warning level are established. The model effectively integrates the results of multiple prediction and warning submodels to provide predictions and advance warnings through the fusion of two stacking learning layers. The possibility that a risk priority strategy can be used as a substitute for the stacking model is also discussed. Finally, an experimental simulation verifies that the proposed improved model can not only provide advance landslide warning but also effectively reduce the frequency of false warnings and mitigate the issues of traditional single models. Regarding the problem of epidemic outbreak prevention and control, infectious disease dynamics models cannot support urban managers in reducing urban-scale healthcare costs through community-scale control measures, as they usually have difficulty meeting the requirements for simulation at different scales. In this paper, we propose combining contact networks at different spatial scales to study the COVID-19 outbreak in Shanghai from March to July 2022, calculate the initial R t through the number of cases at the beginning of the outbreak, and evaluate the effectiveness of dynamic non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) adopted at different time periods in Shanghai using our proposed approach. In particular, our proposed contact network is a three-layer multi-scale network that is used to distinguish social interactions occurring in areas of different sizes, as well as to distinguish between intensive and non-intensive population contacts. This susceptible–exposure–infection–quarantine–recovery (SEIQR) epidemic model constructed based on a multi-scale network can more effectively assess the feasibility of small-scale control measures, such as assessing community quarantine measures and mobility restrictions at different moments and phases of an epidemic. Our experimental results show that this model can meet the simulation needs at different scales, and our further discussion and analysis show that the spread of the epidemic in Shanghai from March to July 2022 can be successfully controlled by implementing a strict long-term dynamic NPI strategy. Intelligent compaction (IC) technology have been used for quality control and quality assurance (QC/QA) in subgrade construction. The effective regression correlations between Intelligent Compaction Measurement Values (ICMV) and In-situ Measurement Values (ISMV, including compaction degree and subgrade modulus ELWD) are the essential prerequisite of using IC technology for QC/QA. This paper presents the results from an experimental research study that was conducted from a practical subgrade project of China to explore the regression relationships between ICMV and ISMV. Three types of ICMV, including CMV, CCV and Evib, were collected along with the corresponding positions of the rollers. Two types of ISMV, containing compaction degree and ELWD, were measured by ring sampler method and light weight deflectometer (LWD) at specified test points, respectively. Based on these data, the influences of roller parameters and subgrade properties on the regression relationships of ICMV and ISMV were investigated. In addition, linear regression and 5 nonlinear regression algorithms were compared. The results suggest that ICMV reflect the stiffness of subgrade more than reflecting the density. In the regression of ICMV and ISMV, subgrade properties are more important than roller parameters while both of them should not be neglected. The influences of underlying stiffness and roller amplitude are linear while that of roller speed and moisture content are nonlinear. Nonlinear algorithms, especially the random forest, have the better performance compared to linear algorithm. With the aim of solving the problem of coal congestion caused by big coal blocks in underground mine scraper conveyors, in this paper we proposed the use of a YOLO-BS (YOLO-Big Size) algorithm to detect the abnormal phenomenon of coal blocks on scraper conveyors. Given the scale of the big coal block targets, the YOLO-BS algorithm replaces the last layer of the YOLOv4 algorithm feature extraction backbone network with the transform module. The YOLO-BS algorithm also deletes the redundant branch which detects small targets in the PAnet module, which reduces the overall number of parameters in the YOLO-BS algorithm. As the up-sampling and down-sampling operations in the PAnet module of the YOLO algorithm can easily cause feature loss, YOLO-BS improves the problem of feature loss and enhances the convergence performance of the model by adding the SimAM space and channel attention mechanism. In addition, to solve the problem of sample imbalance in big coal block data, in this paper, it was shown that the YOLO-BS algorithm selects focal loss as the loss function. In view of the problem that the same lump coal in different locations on the scraper conveyor led to different congestion rates, we conducted research and proposed a formula to calculate the congestion rate. Finally, we collected 12,000 image datasets of coal blocks on the underground scraper conveyor in Daliuta Coal Mine, China, and verified the performance of the method proposed in this paper. The results show that the processing speed of the proposed method can reach 80 fps, and the correct alarm rate can reach 93%. This method meets the real-time and accuracy requirements for the detection of abnormal phenomena in scraper conveyors.

Population, resources and environment constitute an interacting and interdependent whole. Only by scientifically forecasting and accurately grasping future population trends can we use limited resources to promote the sustainable development of society. Because the population system is affected by many complex factors and the structural relations among these factors are complex, it can be regarded as a typical dynamic grey system. This paper introduces the damping accumulated operator to construct the grey population prediction model based on the nonlinear grey Bernoulli model in order to describe the evolution law of the population system more accurately. The new operator can give full play to the principle of new information first and further enhance the ability of the model to capture the dynamic changes of the original data. A whale optimization algorithm was used to optimize the model parameters and build a smooth prediction curve. Through three practical cases related to the size and structure of the Chinese population, the comparison with other grey prediction models shows that the fitting and prediction accuracy of the damping accumulated-nonlinear grey Bernoulli model is higher than that of the traditional grey prediction model. At the same time, the damping accumulated operator can weaken the randomness of the original data sequence, reduce the influence of external interference factors, and enhance the robustness of the model. This paper proves that the new method is simple and effective for population prediction, which can not only grasp the future population change trend more accurately but also further expand the application range of the grey prediction model.

In recent years, garbage classification has become a hot topic in China, and legislation on garbage classification has been proposed. Proper garbage classification and improving the recycling rate of garbage can protect the environment and save resources. In order to effectively achieve garbage classification, a lightweight garbage object detection model based on deep learning techniques was designed and developed in this study, which can locate and classify garbage objects in real-time using embedded devices. Focusing on the problems of low accuracy and poor real-time performances in garbage classification, we proposed a lightweight garbage object detection model, YOLOG (YOLO for garbage detection), which is based on accurate local receptive field dilation and can run on embedded devices at high speed and with high performance. YOLOG improves on YOLOv4 in three key ways, including the design of DCSPResNet with accurate local receptive field expansion based on dilated-deformable convolution, network structure simplification, and the use of new activation functions. We collected the domestic garbage image dataset, then trained and tested the model on it. Finally, in order to compare the performance difference between YOLOG and existing state-of-the-art algorithms, we conducted comparison experiments using a uniform data set training model. The experimental results showed that YOLOG achieved AP0.5 of 94.58% and computation of 6.05 Gflops, thus outperformed YOLOv3, YOLOv4, YOLOv4-Tiny, and YOLOv5s in terms of comprehensive performance indicators. The network proposed in this paper can detect domestic garbage accurately and rapidly, provide a foundation for future academic research and engineering applications.

Western China is a sparsely populated area with dispersed transportation infrastructure, making it challenging to meet people's accessibility and mobility requirements. Rescue efficiency in sparse networks is severely hampered by the difficulty rescue teams have in getting to the scene of abrupt traffic accidents. This paper develops a layout optimization model for multiple rescue points to address this issue, suggests an improved particle swarm algorithm by including a variation that can reduce optimization time and avoid the disadvantage of precocity, and designs a MATLAB program using an adaptive variation algorithm. The proposed approach increases the effectiveness of rescue in a sparse network and optimizes the distribution of emergency resources.

Interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) is an integrated navigation technique that can be used for aircraft positioning and attitude retrieval, regardless of weather conditions. The key aspect of the entire system is interference fringe matching, which has not been extensively researched in existing literature. To address this gap, this paper proposes a terrain-feature-based interference fringe-matching algorithm. The proposed algorithm first extracts mountain line features from the interference fringes and identifies mountain branch points as key points for feature matching. A threshold is set to eliminate false detections of mountain branch points caused by phase mutation. Matching is then carried out by combining the mountain line features and curvature design feature descriptors of the area around a branch point. The proposed algorithm is verified using interference fringe data obtained from an actual flight experiment in Inner Mongolia, China, compared to a reference interference fringe dataset with errors. The results show that, under the condition of position error, the proposed algorithm yields 72 matching inliers with a precision of 0.103, a recall of 0.128, and an F1-Score of 0.144. Compared to traditional algorithms, our proposed algorithm significantly improves the problem of mismatch and opens up new possibilities for downstream interference fringe matching navigation technology. Dust detection is essential for environmental protection, climate change assessment, and human health issues. Based on the Fengyun-4A (FY-4A)/Advance Geostationary Radiation Imager (AGRI) images, this paper aimed to examine the performances of two classic dust detection algorithms (i.e., the brightness temperature difference (BTD) and normalized difference dust index (NDDI) thresholding algorithms) as well as two dust products (i.e., the infrared differential dust index (IDDI) and Dust Score products (DST) developed by the China Meteorological Administration). Results show that a threshold below −0.4 for BTD (11–12 µm) is appropriate for dust identification over China and that there is no fixed threshold for NDDI due to its limitations in distinguishing dust from bare ground. The IDDI and DST products presented similar results, where they are capable of detecting dust over all study areas only for daytime. A validation of these four dust detection algorithms has also been conducted with ground-based particulate matter (PM10) concentration measurements for the spring (March to May) of 2021. Results show that the average probability of correct detection (POCD) for BTD, NDDI, IDDI, and DST were 56.15%, 39.39%, 48.22%, and 46.75%, respectively. Overall, BTD performed the best on dust detection over China with its relative higher accuracy followed by IDDI and DST in the spring of 2021. A single threshold for NDDI led to a lower accuracy than those for others. Additionally, we integrated the BTD and IDDI algorithms for verification. In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6, the main goal of the Special Issue on "Remote sensing for water resources and environmental management" was to solicit papers from a diverse range of scientists around the world on the use of cutting-edge remote sensing technologies to assess and monitor freshwater quality, quantity, availability, and management to ensure water security. Special consideration was given to scientific manuscripts that covered, but were not limited to, the development of geospatial techniques and remote sensing applications for detecting, quantifying, and monitoring freshwater water resources, identifying potential threats to water resources and agriculture, as well as other themes related to water resources and environmental management at various spatial scales. The Special Issue attracted over thirteen peer-reviewed scientific articles, with the majority of manuscripts originating from China. Most of the studies made use of satellite datasets, ranging from coarse spatial resolution data, such as the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) and GRACE Follow-On (GRACE-FO), to medium spatial resolution data, such as the Landsat series, ERA5, Modern-Era Retrospective Analysis for Research and Application Land version 2 reanalysis product (MERRA2), CLSM and NOAH ET, and MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer). Google Earth Engine (GEE) data, together with big data processing techniques, such as the remote sensing-based energy balance model (ALEXI/DisALEXI approach) and the STARFM data fusion technique, were used for analyzing geospatial datasets. Overall, this Special Issue demonstrated significant knowledge gaps in various big data image processing techniques and improved computing processes in assessing and monitoring water resources and the environment at various spatial and temporal scales. This paper considers information transmission issue observed in a large scale test of cellular-based vehicular to everything (C-V2X) technology in China, which is the information blockage for the vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) wireless communication. With such findings, we propose utilizing relaying-based information routing solutions by the support of K-means-type algorithm and an on-request relay selection method in a vehicular adhoc network (VANET). From the algorithm perspective, we refine the K-means-based VANET seeding principle with considerations on the global vehicle layout. On the other hand, base station and/or core network aided relay selection associated with vehicle maneuver is introduced for waking up relays when necessary in order to address the typical non-line-of-sight (NLOS) signal attenuation by taking the power consumption into consideration. To evaluate the system performance, we conduct Matlab and network simulator (NS)-3 simualtions to justify the algorithms, and adopt Veins-based simulations to show the data packets loss gain over non-relaying scenarios of realistic V2V scenario with NLOS signal dissemination. The Loess Plateau is an ecologically fragile area in China; furthermore, loess landslides are typical forms of geological disasters, which severely limit the sustainable development of the local societies and the economy. Studying the automatic detection of landslides can facilitate disaster prevention and mitigation in the Loess Plateau, and help realize the climate action goal (SDG 13) of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This paper takes typical loess areas in China as the research object, and establishes a historical loess landslide sample database based on Google Earth (GEE) image data, with a total of 1451 loess landslides. The automatic detection of loess landslides is implemented by improving the You Only Look Once X (YOLOX) algorithm. The results show that the average accuracy of landslide detection in this method is 95.43%, and the accuracy rate is 96.32%, which effectively combines the earth's big data to realize the automatic detection of loess landslides. The research results provide technical support for the promotion of disaster prevention and mitigation in China's loess regions, the realization of sustainable development goals, and the improvement of natural disaster prevention–resistance–reduction systems. Northern China is vigorously promoting cogeneration and clean heating technologies. The accurate prediction of building energy consumption is the basis for heating regulation. In this paper, the daily, weekly, and annual periods of building energy consumption are determined by Fourier transformation. Accordingly, a period-based neural network (PBNN) is proposed to predict building energy consumption. The main innovation of PBNN is the introduction of a new data structure, which is a time-discontinuous sliding window. The sliding window consists of the past 24 h, 24 h for the same period last week, and 24 h for the same period the previous year. When predicting the building energy consumption for the next 1 h, 12 h, and 24 h, the prediction errors of the PBNN are 2.30%, 3.47%, and 3.66% lower than those of the traditional sliding window PBNN (TSW-PBNN), respectively. The training time of PBNN is approximately half that of TSW-PBNN. The time-discontinuous sliding window reduces the energy consumption prediction error and neural network model training time. The application of intelligent equipment and technologies such as robots and unmanned vehicles is an important part of the construction of intelligent mines, and has become China's national coal energy development strategy and the consensus of the coal industry. Environment perception and instant positioning is one of the key technologies destined to realize unmanned and autonomous navigation in underground coal mines, and simultaneous location and mapping (SLAM) is an effective method of deploying this key technology. The underground space of a coal mine is long and narrow, the environment is complex and changeable, the structure is complex and irregular, and the lighting is poor. This is a typical unstructured environment, which poses a great challenge to SLAM. This paper summarizes the current research status of underground coal mine map construction based on visual SLAM and Lidar SLAM, and analyzes the defects of the LeGO-LOAM algorithm, such as loopback detection errors or omissions. We use SegMatch to improve the loopback detection module of LeGO-LOAM, use the iterative closest point (ICP) algorithm to optimize the global map, then propose an improved SLAM algorithm, namely LeGO-LOAM-SM, and describe its principle and implementation. The performance of the LeGO-LOAM-SM was also tested using the KITTI dataset 00 sequence and SLAM experimental data collected in two coal mine underground simulation scenarios, and the performance indexes such as the map construction effect, trajectory overlap and length deviation, absolute trajectory error (ATE), and relative pose error (RPE) were analyzed. The results show that the map constructed by LeGO-LOAM-SM is clearer, has a better loopback effect, the estimated trajectory is smoother and more accurate, and the translation and rotation accuracy is improved by approximately 5%. This can construct more accurate point cloud map and low drift position estimation, which verifies the effectiveness and accuracy of the improved algorithm. Finally, to satisfy the navigation requirements, the construction method of a two-dimensional occupancy grid map was studied, and the underground coal mine simulation environment test was carried out. The results show that the constructed raster map can effectively filter out outlier noise such as dynamic obstacles, has a mapping accuracy of 0.01 m, and the required storage space compared with the point cloud map is reduced by three orders of magnitude. Pseudolite deployment is the premise of ground-based pseudolite system networking, which affects the coverage and positioning accuracy of ground-based pseudolite systems. Optimal deployment algorithms can help to achieve a higher signal coverage and lower mean horizontal precision factor (HDOP) with a limited number of pseudolites. In this paper, we proposed a multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) algorithm for the deployment of a ground-based pseudolite system. The new algorithm combines Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data and uses the mean HDOP of the DEM grid to measure the geometry of the pseudolite system. The signal coverage of the pseudolite system was calculated based on the visual area analysis with respect to reference planes, which effectively avoids the repeated calculation of the intersection and improves the calculation efficiency. A selected area covering 10 km×10 km in the Jiuzhaigou area of China was used to verify the new algorithm. The results showed that both the coverage and HDOP achieved were optimal using the new algorithm, where the coverage area can be up to approximately 50% and 30% more than using the existing particle swarm optimization (PSO) and convex polyhedron volume optimization (CPVO) algorithms, respectively.

The non-stationarity, nonlinearity and complexity of the PM 2.5 series have caused difficulties in PM 2.5 prediction. To improve prediction accuracy, many forecasting methods have been developed. However, these methods usually do not consider the importance of data preprocessing and have limitations only using a single forecasting model. Therefore, this paper proposed a new hybrid decomposition-ensemble learning paradigm based on variation mode decomposition (VMD) and improved whale-optimization algorithm (IWOA) to address complex nonlinear environmental data. First, the VMD is employed to decompose the PM 2.5 sequences into a set of variational modes (VMs) with different frequencies. Then, an ensemble method based on four individual forecasting approaches is applied to forecast all the VMs. With regard to ensemble weight coefficients, the IWOA is applied to optimize the weight coefficients, and the final forecasting results were obtained by reconstructing the refined sequences. To verify and validate the proposed learning paradigm, four daily PM 2.5 datasets collected from the Jing-Jin-Ji area of China are chosen as the test cases to conduct the empirical research. In response to the emergent public health event of COVID-19, the efficiency of transport of medical waste from hospitals to disposal stations is a worthwhile issue to study. In this paper, based on the actual situation of COVID-19 and environmental impact assessment guidelines, an immune algorithm is used to establish a location model of urban medical waste storage sites. In view of the selection of temporary storage stations and realistic transportation demand, an efficiency-of-transport model of medical waste between hospitals and temporary storage stations is established by using an ant colony-tabu hybrid algorithm. In order to specify such status, Wuhan city in Hubei Province, China-considered the first city to suffer from COVID-19-was chosen as an example of verification; the two-level model and the immune algorithm-ant colony optimization-tabu search (IA-ACO-TS) algorithm were used for simulation and testing, which achieved good verification. To a certain extent, the model and the algorithm are proposed to solve the problem of medical waste disposal, based on transit temporary storage stations, which we are convinced will have far-reaching significance for China and other countries to dispatch medical waste in response to such public health emergencies.

In the real decision-making process, there are so many time series values that need to be aggregated. In this paper, a visibility graph power geometric (VGPG) aggregation operator is developed, which is based on the complex network and power geometric operator. Time series data are converted into a visibility graph. A visibility matrix is developed to denote the links among different time series values. A new support function based on the distance of two values are proposed to measure the support degree of each other when the two time series values have visibility. The VGPG operator considers not only the relationship but also the similarity degree between two values. Meanwhile, some properties of the VGPG operator are also investigated. Finally, a case study for water, energy, and food coupling efficiency evaluation in China is illustrated to show the effectiveness of the proposed operator. Linguistic preference relations are widely used by decision makers to elicit their preferences over alternatives in the Group Decision Making (GDM) process. Recent studies have shown that self-confidence, as an important human psychological behavior, has an important influence on decision-making results. However, multiple self-confidence levels of decision makers are seldom considered in the linguistic preference relation. Meanwhile many real-word decision-making problems are analyzed in a hierarchical structure, in which a complicated problem can be divided into several easier comprehended sub-problems. Hence, this paper aims at designing a linguistic hierarchy model with self-confidence preference relation (LHM-SCPR) to discuss complex GDM problems in a hierarchical structure. In the SC-LPR, each element contains two components, the first one is the preference value between pairs of alternatives, and the second one that is defined on a linguistic term set represents decision maker's self-confidence level associated to the first component. Meanwhile, a nonlinear programming model is proposed to derive individual preference vector from SC-LPR. Then, we apply LHM-SCPR in co-regulation of food safety to present the validity of this method, and find that improving the participation skills regarding co-regulation of food safety is the most pressing task. In order to improve the accuracy of the multiple load forecasting of a regional integrated energy system, a short-term multiple load forecasting model based on the quantum weighted GRU and multi-task learning framework is proposed in this paper. Firstly, correlation analysis is carried out using a maximum information coefficient to select the input of the model. Then, a multi-task learning architecture is constructed based on the quantum weighted GRU neural network, and the coupling information among multiple loads is learned through the sharing layer in order to improve the prediction accuracy of multiple loads. Finally, the PSO algorithm is used to optimize the parameters of the quantum weighted GRU. The simulation data of a regional integrated energy system in northern China are used to predict the power and cooling loads on summer weekdays and rest days, and the results show that, compared with the LSTM, GRU and single task learning QWGRU models, the proposed model is more effective in the multiple load forecasting of a regional integrated energy system. Due to the lack of forest resources in China and the low detection efficiency of wood surface defects, the output of solid wood panels is not high. Therefore, this paper proposes a method for detecting surface defects of solid wood panels based on a Single Shot MultiBox Detector algorithm (SSD) to detect typical wood surface defects. The wood panel images are acquired by an independently designed image acquisition system. The SSD model included the first five layers of the VGG16 network, the SSD feature mapping layer, the feature detection layer, and the Non-Maximum Suppression (NMS) module. We used TensorFlow to train the network and further improved it on the basis of the SSD network structure. As the basic network part of the improved SSD model, the deep residual network (ResNet) replaced the VGG network part of the original SSD network to optimize the input features of the regression and classification tasks of the predicted bounding box. The solid wood panels selected in this paper are Chinese fir and pine. The defects include live knots, dead knots, decay, mildew, cracks, and pinholes. A total of more than 5000 samples were collected, and the data set was expanded to 100,000 through data enhancement methods. After using the improved SSD model, the average detection accuracy of the defects we obtained was 89.7%, and the average detection time was 90 ms. A new algorithm is proposed to estimate the cooling amplitude over North China induced by each Ural blocking event. Taking full account of potential transient temperature rises during the cooling process and the lag time of cooling relative to the blocking, this algorithm provides more detailed analysis which should not be possible by using former methods. The amplitude of the Ural blocking-related cooling events is found to have a broad distribution. Further, although most Ural blocking events lead to severe cold surges over North China, the number of Ural blocking events that do not induce significant cooling over North China cannot be ignored. The possible reasons for the wide range in cooling amplitude are explored in terms of the lifetimes and geographical centers of the blocking highs, the circulation patterns preceding the onset of the cooling events, and the snowfall associated with cooling events. Larger amplitude cooling events occur in Ural blocking highs that have longer lifetimes and northwestward displacements of their geographical centers. The northward displacement of a Ural blocking center favors the advection of extremely cold air from the Arctic regions, which accumulates in West Siberia and subsequently gives rise to the most severe cold surges over North China. The lack of activities of cold surges before the blocking-related cooling events not only amplifies the cooling amplitude directly, but also increases the occurrence probabilities of snowfalls through its modulation on the local specific humidity. The parameters' inversion of saturated–unsaturated is important in ensuring the safety of earth dams; many scholars have conducted some research regarding the inversion of hydraulic conductivity based on seepage pressure monitoring data. The van Genuchten model is widely used in saturated–unsaturated seepage analysis, which considers the permeability connected to the water content of the soil and the soil's shape parameters. A BP neural artificial network is a mature prediction technique based on enough data, and the marine predator algorithm is a new nature-inspired metaheuristic inspired by the movement of animals in the ocean. The BP neural artificial network and marine predator algorithm are applied in the permeability coefficient inversion of a core-rock dam in China; the results show that in the normal operation status, the BP network shows better accuracy, and the average of the absolute error and variance of the absolute error are both minimum values, which are 2.21 m and 1.43 m, respectively. While the water storage speed changes, the marine predator algorithm shows better accuracy; the objective function is calculated to be 0.253. So, the marine predator algorithm is able to accurately reverse the desired results in some situations. Mine extraction planning has a far-reaching impact on the production management and overall economic efficiency of the mining enterprise. The traditional method of preparing underground mine production planning is complicated and tedious, and reaching the optimum calculation results is difficult. Firstly, the theory and method of multi-objective optimization are used to establish a multi-objective planning model with the objective of the best economic efficiency, grade, and ore quantity, taking into account the constraints of ore grade fluctuation, ore output from the mine, production capacity of mining enterprises, and mineral resources utilization. Second, an improved particle swarm algorithm is applied to solve the model, a nonlinear dynamic decreasing weight strategy is proposed for the inertia weights, the variation probability of each generation of particles is dynamically adjusted by the aggregation degree, and this variation probability is used to perform a mixed Gaussian and Cauchy mutation for the global optimal position and an adaptive wavelet variation for the worst individual optimal position. This improved strategy can greatly increase the diversity of the population, improve the global convergence speed of the algorithm, and avoid the premature convergence of the solution. Finally, taking a large polymetallic underground mine in China as a case, the example calculation proves that the algorithm solution result is 10.98% higher than the mine plan index in terms of ore volume and 41.88% higher in terms of economic efficiency, the algorithm solution speed is 29.25% higher, and the model and optimization algorithm meet the requirements of a mining industry extraction production plan, which can effectively optimize the mine's extraction plan and provide a basis for mine operation decisions. The time-effective mapping of erosion gullies is crucial for monitoring and early detection of developing erosional progression. However, current methods face challenges in obtaining large-scale erosion gully networks rapidly due to limitations in data availability and computational complexity. This study developed a rapid method for extracting erosion gully networks by integrating interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) and the relative elevation algorithm (REA) within the Huangfuchuan Basin, a case basin in the northern Loess Plateau, China. Validation in the study area demonstrated that the proposed method achieved an F1 score of 81.94%, representing a 9.77% improvement over that of the reference ASTER GDEM. The method successfully detected small reliefs of erosion gullies using the InSAR-refined DEM. The accuracy of extraction varied depending on the characteristics of the gullies in different locations. The F1 score showed a positive correlation with gully depth (R2 = 0.62), while the fragmented gully heads presented a higher potential of being missed due to the resolution effect. The extraction results provided insights into the erosion gully networks in the case study area. A total of approximately 28,000 gullies were identified, exhibiting pinnate and trellis patterns. Most of the gullies had notable intersecting angles exceeding 60°. The basin's average depth was 64 m, with the deepest gully being 140 m deep. Surface fragmentation indicated moderate erosive activity, with the southeastern loess region showing more severe erosion than the Pisha sandstone-dominated central and northwestern regions. The method described in this study offers a rapid approach to map gullies, streamlining the workflow of erosion gully extraction and enabling efficiently targeted interventions for erosion control efforts. The accuracy of annual electric load forecasting plays an important role in the economic and social benefits of electric power systems. The least squares support vector machine (LSSVM) has been proven to offer strong potential in forecasting issues, particularly by employing an appropriate meta-heuristic algorithm to determine the values of its two parameters. However, these meta-heuristic algorithms have the drawbacks of being hard to understand and reaching the global optimal solution slowly. As a novel meta-heuristic and evolutionary algorithm, the fruit fly optimization algorithm (FOA) has the advantages of being easy to understand and fast convergence to the global optimal solution. Therefore, to improve the forecasting performance, this paper proposes a LSSVM-based annual electric load forecasting model that uses FOA to automatically determine the appropriate values of the two parameters for the LSSVM model. By taking the annual electricity consumption of China as an instance, the computational result shows that the LSSVM combined with FOA (LSSVM-FOA) outperforms other alternative methods, namely single LSSVM, LSSVM combined with coupled simulated annealing algorithm (LSSVM-CSA), generalized regression neural network (GRNN) and regression model. To meet the mission requirements of long-endurance and unmanned marine environment observation, the natural energy-driven unmanned surface vehicle (NSV) usually takes special sailing paths to increase energy capture to achieve the purpose of improving endurance. Aiming at the route planning problems of the "Wave Rider" NSV in the time-varying ocean wind field, this paper is organized as follows. Firstly, a visual modeling method of the real-time-varying ocean wind field for NSV is proposed. Then, through the wind energy capture experiment, the NSV system energy net output model is calculated, and a Dynamic Dijkstra algorithm considering wind energy capture (DW–Dijkstra) has been proposed in this paper based on a Dijkstra algorithm, of which weight function has been improved. Accordingly, the NSV long-endurance dynamic path planning method is designed. Finally, the DW–Dijkstra algorithm has been verified through a set of comparison simulations and a set of semi-physical comparison simulations. The results show that the DW–Dijkstra algorithm can plan a collision-free and high-efficiency energy capture path in the real-time-varying ocean wind field environment in the southern waters of China. Compared with the traditional A* algorithm and the Wind_A* algorithm, the proposed method can save energy by between 15.07% and 6.50%, respectively, which effectively increases the endurance of the NSV. The stochastic approximation algorithm (SAA), starting from the pioneer work by Robbins and Monro in 1950s, has been successfully applied in systems and control, statistics, machine learning, and so forth. In this paper, we will review the development of SAA in China, to be specific, the stochastic approximation algorithm with expanding truncations (SAAWET) developed by Han-Fu Chen and his colleagues during the past 35 years. We first review the historical development for the centralized algorithm including the probabilistic method (PM) and the ordinary differential equation (ODE) method for SAA and the trajectory-subsequence method for SAAWET. Then, we will give an application example of SAAWET to the recursive principal component analysis. Cloud and aerosol polarization imaging detector (CAPI) is one of the important payloads on the China Carbon Dioxide Observation Satellite (TANSAT), which can realize multispectral polarization detection and accurate on-orbit calibration. The main function of the instrument is to identify the interference of clouds and aerosols in the atmospheric detection path and to improve the retrieval accuracy of greenhouse gases. Therefore, it is of great significance to accurately identify the clouds in remote sensing images. However, in order to meet the requirement of lightweight design, CAPI is only equipped with channels in the near-ultraviolet to near-infrared bands. It is difficult to achieve effective cloud recognition using traditional visible light to thermal infrared band spectral threshold cloud detection algorithms. In order to solve the above problem, this paper innovatively proposes a cloud detection method based on different threshold tests from near ultraviolet to near infrared (NNDT). This algorithm first introduces the 0.38 μm band and the ratio of 0.38 μm band to 1.64 μm band, to realize the separation of cloud pixels and clear sky pixels, which can take advantage of the obvious difference in radiation characteristics between clouds and ground objects in the near-ultraviolet band and the advantages of the band ratio in identifying clouds on the snow surface. The experimental results show that the cloud recognition hit rate (PODcloud) reaches 0.94 (ocean), 0.98 (vegetation), 0.99 (desert), and 0.86 (polar), which therefore achieve the application standard of CAPI data cloud detection The research shows that the NNDT algorithm replaces the demand for thermal infrared bands for cloud detection, gets rid of the dependence on the minimum surface reflectance database that is embodied in traditional cloud recognition algorithms, and lays the foundation for aerosol and CO2 parameter inversion. Context: YOLO (You Look Only Once) is an algorithm based on deep neural networks with real-time object detection capabilities. This state-of-the-art technology is widely available, mainly due to its speed and precision. Since its conception, YOLO has been applied to detect and recognize traffic signs, pedestrians, traffic lights, vehicles, and so on. Objective: The goal of this research is to systematically analyze the YOLO object detection algorithm, applied to traffic sign detection and recognition systems, from five relevant aspects of this technology: applications, datasets, metrics, hardware, and challenges. Method: This study performs a systematic literature review (SLR) of studies on traffic sign detection and recognition using YOLO published in the years 2016–2022. Results: The search found 115 primary studies relevant to the goal of this research. After analyzing these investigations, the following relevant results were obtained. The most common applications of YOLO in this field are vehicular security and intelligent and autonomous vehicles. The majority of the sign datasets used to train, test, and validate YOLO-based systems are publicly available, with an emphasis on datasets from Germany and China. It has also been discovered that most works present sophisticated detection, classification, and processing speed metrics for traffic sign detection and recognition systems by using the different versions of YOLO. In addition, the most popular desktop data processing hardwares are Nvidia RTX 2080 and Titan Tesla V100 and, in the case of embedded or mobile GPU platforms, Jetson Xavier NX. Finally, seven relevant challenges that these systems face when operating in real road conditions have been identified. With this in mind, research has been reclassified to address these challenges in each case. Conclusions: This SLR is the most relevant and current work in the field of technology development applied to the detection and recognition of traffic signs using YOLO. Recently, the Chinese government has implemented stringent water requirements based on the concept of 'Basing four aspects on water resources'. However, existing research has inadequately addressed the constraints of water resources on population, city boundaries, land, and production, failing to adequately analyze the interplay between water resource limitations and urban development. Recognizing the interconnectedness between urban water use and economic development, a multi-objective model becomes crucial for optimizing urban water resources. This study establishes a nonlinear multi-objective water resources joint optimization model, aligning with the "Basing four aspects on water resources" requirement to maximize urban GDP and minimize total water use. A genetic algorithm (NSGA-II Algorithm) is applied to solve this complex nonlinear multi-objective model and obtain the Pareto solution set, addressing information loss inherent in the traditional water quota method. The model was tested in Wujiang District, an area located in China's Jiangsu Province that has been rapidly urbanizing over the past few decades, and yielded 50 non-inferior water resource optimization schemes. The results reveal that the Pareto solution set visually illustrates the competition among objectives and comprehensively displays the interplay between water and urban development. The model takes a holistic approach to consider the relationships between water resources and urban population, land use, and industries, clearly presenting their intricate interdependencies. This paper presents a review and analysis of the research that has been carried out on dynamic calibration for optical-fiber solids concentration probes. An introduction to the optical-fiber solids concentration probe was given. Different calibration methods of optical-fiber solids concentration probes reported in the literature were reviewed. In addition, a reflection-type optical-fiber solids concentration probe was uniquely calibrated at nearly full range of the solids concentration from 0 to packed bed concentration. The effects of particle properties (particle size, sphericity and color) on the calibration results were comprehensively investigated. The results show that the output voltage has a tendency to increase with the decreasing particle size, and the effect of particle color on calibration result is more predominant than that of sphericity.

Impervious surface area (ISA) is considered as an indicator of environment change and is regarded as an important input parameter for hydrological cycle simulation, water management and area pollution assessment. The Pearl River Delta (PRD), the 3rd most important economic district of China, is chosen in this paper to extract the ISA information based on Landsat images of 1998, 2003 and 2008 by using a linear spectral un-mixing method and to monitor impervious surface change by analyzing the multi-temporal Landsat-derived fractional impervious surface. Results of this study were as follows: (1) the area of ISA in the PRD increased 79.09% from 1998 to 2003 and 26.88% from 2003 to 2008 separately; (2) the spatial distribution of ISA was described according to the 1998/2003 percentage respectively. Most of middle and high percentage ISA was located in northwestern and southeastern of the whole delta, and middle percentage ISA was mainly located in the city interior, high percentage ISA was mainly located in the suburban around the city accordingly; (3) the expanding direction and trend of high percentage ISA was discussed in order to understand the change of urban in this delta; High percentage ISA moved from inner city to edge of urban area during 1998-2003 and moved to the suburban area that far from the urban area mixed with jumpily and gradually during 2003-2008. According to the discussion of high percentage ISA spatial expanded direction, it could be found out that high percentage ISA moved outward from the centre line of Pearl River of the whole delta while a high ISA percentage in both shores of the Pearl River Estuary moved toward the Pearl River; (4) combining the change of ISA with social conditions, the driving relationship was analyzed in detail. It was evident that ISA percentage change had a deep relationship with the economic development of this region in the past ten years. Contemporaneous major sport events (16th Asia Games of Guangzhou, 26th Summer Universidad of Shenzhen) and the government policies also promoted the development of the ISA. Meanwhile, topographical features like the National Nature Reserve of China restricted and affected the expansion of the ISA. Above all, this paper attempted to extract ISA in a major region of the PRD; the temporal and spatial analyses to PRD ISA demonstrated the drastic changes in developed areas of China. These results were important and valuable for land use management, ecological protection and policy establishment.

Due to the rapid increase in private car ownership in China, most cities face the problem of insufficient parking spaces, leading to frequent occurrences of parking space conflicts. There is a wide variety of parking locks available on the market. However, most of them lack advanced intelligence and cannot cater to the growing diverse needs of people. The present study attempts to devise a smart parking lock to tackle this issue. Specifically, the smart parking lock uses a Raspberry Pi as the core controller, senses the vehicle with an ultrasonic ranging module, and collects the license plate image with a camera. In addition, algorithms for license plate recognition based on traditional image-processing methods typically require a high pixel resolution, but their recognition accuracy is often low. Therefore, we propose a new algorithm called UNET-GWO-SVM to achieve higher accuracy in embedded systems. Moreover, we developed a WeChat mini program to control the smart parking lock. Field tests were conducted on campus to evaluate the performance of the parking locks. The test results show that the corresponding effective unlocking rate is 99.0% when the recognition error is less than two license plate characters. Scientific analyses of urban flood risks are essential for evaluating urban flood insurance and designing drainage projects. Although the current rainfall monitoring system in China has a dense station network and high-precision rainfall data, the time series is short. In contrast, historical rainfall data have a longer sample time series but lower precision. This study introduced a PCA algorithm to reconstruct historical rainfall data. Based on the temporal and spatial characteristics of rainfall extracted from high-resolution rainfall data over the past decade, historical (6 h intervals) rainfall spatial data were reconstructed into high-resolution (1 h intervals) spatial data to satisfy the requirements of the urban flood risk analysis. The results showed that the average error between the reconstructed data and measured values in the high-value area was within 15% and in the low-value area was within 20%, representing decreases of approximately 65% and 40%, respectively, compared to traditional interpolation data. The reconstructed historical spatial rainfall data conformed to the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of rainfall, improved the granularity of rainfall spatial data, and enabled the effective and reasonable extraction and summary of the fine temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of rainfall. Pine Wilt Disease (PWD) is a devastating global forest disease that spreads rapidly and causes severe ecological and economic losses. Drone remote sensing imaging technology is an effective way to detect PWD and control its spread. However, the existing algorithms for detecting PWD using drone images have low recognition accuracy, difficult image calibration, and slow detection speed. We propose a fast detection algorithm for PWD based on an improved YOLOv8 model. The model first adds a small object detection layer to the Neck module in the YOLOv8 base framework to improve the detection performance of small diseased pine trees and then inserts three attention mechanism modules on the backbone network to extend the sensory field of the network to enhance the extraction of image features of deep diseased pine trees. To evaluate the proposed algorithm framework, we collected and created a dataset in Weihai City, China, containing PWD middle-stage and late-stage infected tree samples. The experimental results show that the improved YOLOv8s-GAM model achieves 81%, 67.2%, and 76.4% optimal detection performance on mAP50, mAP50-95, and Mean evaluation metrics, which is 4.5%, 4.5%, and 2.7% higher than the original YOLOv8s model. The seismic records in the Cambrian southwest depression of the Tarim Basin exhibit discrepancies when compared to the actual geological setting, which is caused by the presence of multiples. Despite the application of the Radon transform, multiple interferences persist beneath the Cambrian salt in the pre-stack data, with significant variations in energy and frequency across the horizontal direction. In addition, other multiple suppression methods are also difficult to handle this problem. To address this issue, we have developed an iterative virtual event internal multiple suppression method for post-stack data. This novel algorithm extends the traditional virtual event internal multiple suppression approach, eliminating the need for data regularization and avoiding the problem of the traditional virtual events method requiring sequential extraction of primaries from relevant layers, which greatly improves computational efficiency and simplifies the implementation steps of the traditional method. Numerical experiments demonstrate the efficacy of our method in suppressing internal multiples in both synthetic and field data while preserving primary signals. When applied to real seismic data profiles, the iterative method yields structural characteristics that align more closely with sedimentary laws and reduces disparities in energy and frequency of multiples along the horizontal axis. With the continuous development of computer vision technology, more and more landslide identification detection tasks have started to shift from manual visual interpretation to automatic computer identification, and automatic landslide detection methods based on remote sensing satellite images and deep learning have been gradually developed. However, most existing algorithms often have the problem of low precision and weak generalization in landslide detection. Based on the Google Earth Engine platform, this study selected landslide image data from 24 study areas in China and established the DN landslide sample dataset, which contains a total of 1440 landslide samples. The original YOLOv7 algorithm model was improved and optimized by applying the SE squeezed attention mechanism and VariFocal loss function to construct the SE-YOLOv7 model to realize the automatic detection of landslides in remote sensing images. The experimental results show that the mAP, Precision value, Recall value, and F1-Score of the improved SE-YOLOv7 model for landslide identification are 91.15%, 93.35%, 94.54%, and 93.94%, respectively. At the same time, through a field investigation and verification study in Qianyang County, Baoji City, Shaanxi Province, comparing the detection results of SE-YOLOv7, it is concluded that the improved SE-YOLOv7 can locate the landslide location more accurately, detect the landslide range more accurately, and have fewer missed detections. The research results show that the algorithm model has strong detection accuracy for many types of landslide image data, which provides a technical reference for future research on landslide detection based on remote sensing images. The thyristor is the key device for the converter of the ultra-high-voltage DC (UHVDC) project to realize AC–DC conversion. The reliability of thyristors is directly related to the safe operation of the UHVDC transmission system. Due to the complex operating environment of the thyristor, there are many interrelated parameters that may affect the aging state of thyristors. To extract useful information from the massive high-dimensional data and further obtain the aging state of thyristors, a supervised tensor domain classification (STDC) method based on the adaptive syn-thetic sampling method, the gradient-boosting decision tree, and tensor domain theory is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the algorithm applies the continuous medium theory to analogize the aging state points of the thyristor to the mass points in the continuous medium. Then, the algorithm applies the concept of the tensor domain to identify the aging state of the thyristor and to transform the original state-identification problem into the state classification surface determination of the tensor domain. Secondly, a temporal fuzzy clustering algorithm is applied to realize automatic positioning of the classification surface of each tensor sub-domain. Furthermore, to solve the problem of unbalanced sample size between aging class data and normal class data in the state-identification domain, the improved adaptive synthetic sampling algorithm is applied to preprocess the data. The gradient-boosting decision tree algorithm is applied to solve the multi-classification problem of the thyristor. Finally, the comparison between the algorithm proposed and the conventional algorithm is performed through the field-test data provided by the CSG EHV Power Transmission Company of China's Southern Power Grid. Hydrological variable frequency analysis is a fundamental task for water resource management and water conservancy project design. Given the deficiencies of higher distribution features for the upper tail section of hydrological variable frequency curves and the corresponding safer resulting design of water conservancy projects utilizing the empirical frequency formula and Pearson type III function-based curve fitting method, the normal cloud transform algorithm-based model for hydrological variable frequency analysis was proposed through estimation of the sample empirical frequency by the normal cloud transform algorithm, and determining the cumulative probability distribution curve by overlapping calculation of multiple conceptual cloud distribution patterns, which is also the primary innovation of the paper. Its application result in northern Anhui province, China indicated that the varying trend of the cumulative probability distribution curve of annual precipitation derived from the proposed approach was basically consistent with the result obtained through the traditional empirical frequency formula. Furthermore, the upper tail section of the annual precipitation frequency curve derived from the cloud transform algorithm varied below the calculation result utilizing the traditional empirical frequency formula, which indicated that the annual precipitation frequency calculation result utilizing the cloud transform algorithm was more optimal compared to the results obtained by the traditional empirical frequency formula. Therefore, the proposed cloud transform algorithm-based model was reliable and effective for hydrological variable frequency analysis, which can be further applied in the related research field of hydrological process analysis. An outbreak of Ulva prolifera poses a massive threat to coastal ecology in the Southern Yellow Sea, China (SYS). It is a necessity to extract its area and monitor its development accurately. At present, Ulva prolifera monitoring by remote sensing imagery is mostly based on a fixed threshold or artificial visual interpretation for threshold selection, which has large errors. In this paper, an adaptive threshold model based on Google Earth Engine (GEE) is proposed and applied to extract U. prolifera in the SYS. The model first applies the Floating Algae Index (FAI) or Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) algorithm on the preprocessed remote sensing images and then uses the Canny Edge Filter and Otsu threshold segmentation algorithm to extract the threshold automatically. The model is applied to Landsat8/OLI and Sentinel-2/MSI images, and the confusion matrix and cross-sensor comparison are used to evaluate the accuracy and applicability of the model. The verification results show that the model extraction of U. prolifera based on the FAI algorithm has higher accuracy (R2 = 0.99, RMSE = 5.64) and better robustness. However, when the average cloud cover is more than 70% in the image (based on the statistical results of multi-year cloud cover information), the model based on the NDVI algorithm has better applicability and can extract the algae distributed at the edge of the cloud. When the model uses the FAI algorithm, it is named FAI-COM (model based on FAI, the Canny Edge Filter, and Otsu thresholding). And when the model uses the NDVI algorithm, it is named NDVI-COM (model based on NDVI, the Canny Edge Filter, and Otsu thresholding). Therefore, the final extraction results are generated by supplementing NDVI-COM results on the basis of FAI-COM extraction results in this paper. The F1-score of U. prolifera extracted results is above 0.85. The spatiotemporal distribution of U. prolifera in the South Yellow Sea from 2016 to 2020 is obtained through the model calculation. Overall, the coverage area of U. prolifera shows a decreasing trend over the five years. It is found that the delay in recovery time of Porphyra yezoensis culture facilities in the Northern Jiangsu Shoal and the manual salvage and cleaning-up of U. prolifera in May are among the reasons for the smaller interannual scale of algae in 2017 and 2018. Condition-monitoring and anomaly-detection methods used for the assessment of wind turbines are key to reducing operation and maintenance (O&M) cost and improving their reliability. In this study, based on the sparrow search algorithm (SSA), bidirectional long short-term memory networks with a self-attention mechanism (SABiLSTM), and a binary segmentation changepoint detection algorithm (BinSegCPD), a condition-monitoring method (SSA-SABiLSTM-BinSegCPD, SSD) used for wind turbines is proposed. Specifically, the self-attention mechanism, which can mine the nonlinear dynamic characteristics and spatial–temporal features inherent in the SCADA time series, was introduced into a two-layer BiLSTM network to establish a normal-behavior model for wind turbine key components. Then, as a result of the advantages of searching precision and convergence rate methods, the sparrow search algorithm was employed to optimize the constructed SABiLSTM model. Moreover, the BinSegCPD algorithm was applied to the predicted residual sequence to achieve the automatic identification of deterioration conditions for wind turbines. Case studies conducted on multiple wind turbines located in south China showed that the established SSA-SABiLSTM model was superior to other contrast models, achieving a better prediction precision in terms of RMSE, MAE, MAPE, and R2. The MAE, RMSE, and MAPE of SSA-SABiLSTM were 0.2543 °C, 0.3412 °C, and 0.0069, which were 47.23%, 42.19%, and 53.38% lower than those of SABiLSTM, respectively. The R2 of SABiLSTM was 0.9731, which was 4.6% higher than that of SABiLSTM. The proposed SSD method can detect deterioration conditions 47–120 h in advance and trigger fault alarm signals approximately 36 h ahead of the actual failure time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

For a healthy industrial structure (IS) and stable economic development in China, this study proposes an improved link prediction algorithm (LP) based on complex networks. The algorithm calculates the similarity by constructing a mixed similarity index. A regional IS network model is built in the study, and the direction of IS adjustment is calculated with the mixed similarity indicators. In this study, the prediction accuracy of the proposed improved LP algorithm in the real network dataset is up to 0.944, which is significantly higher than that of the other algorithms. In the reality of IS optimization, industries of high similarity could be obtained through similarity algorithms, and reasonable coordinated development strategies are proposed. In addition, the simulated IS adjustment strategy in this study shows that it is highly sustainable in development, which is reflected in its lower carbon emissions. The optimization of IS adjustment could be achieved through IS network model and the improved LP algorithm.
