As a crucial component of the ecological security pattern, ecological source (ES) plays a vital role in providing ecosystem service value (ESV) and conserving biodiversity. Previous studies have mostly considered ES only from either landscape change pattern or ecological function perspectives, and have ignored their integration and spatio-temporal evolutionary modeling. In this study, we proposed a multi-perspective framework for the spatio-temporal characteristics of ES by ESV incorporating landscape aesthetics, carbon sink characteristics, ecological quality, and kernel NDVI (kNDVI). By integrating the revised ESV and the kernel normalized difference vegetation index as a foundation, we employed the spatial priority model to identify ES. This improvement aims to yield a more practical and specific ESV result. Applying this framework to the Three-River Headwaters Region (TRHR), a significant spatio-temporal change in ecological sources has been observed from 2000 to 2020. This performance provided a reference for ecological conservation in the TRHR. The results indicate that this ecological source identification framework has reliable accuracy and efficiency compared with the existing NRs in the TRHR. This method could reveal more precise spatio-temporal distributions of ES, enhancing ecosystem integrity and providing technical modeling support for developing cross-scale spatial planning and management strategies for nature reserve boundaries. Wearing gloves during machinery operation in workshops is essential for preventing accidental injuries, such as mechanical damage and burns. Ensuring that workers are wearing gloves is a key strategy for accident prevention. Consequently, this study proposes a glove detection algorithm called YOLOv8-AFPN-M-C2f based on YOLOv8, offering swifter detection speeds, lower computational demands, and enhanced accuracy for workshop scenarios. This research innovates by substituting the head of YOLOv8 with the AFPN-M-C2f network, amplifying the pathways for feature vector propagation, and mitigating semantic discrepancies between non-adjacent feature layers. Additionally, the introduction of a superficial feature layer enriches surface feature information, augmenting the model's sensitivity to smaller objects. To assess the performance of the YOLOv8-AFPN-M-C2f model, this study conducted multiple experiments using a factory glove detection dataset compiled for this study. The results indicate that the enhanced YOLOv8 model surpasses other network models. Compared to the baseline YOLOv8 model, the refined version shows a 2.6% increase in mAP@50%, a 63.8% rise in FPS, and a 13% reduction in the number of parameters. Time-sharing cars, as a sustainable model for transport, have seen rapid developments in recent years. Prior studies on car sharing paid little attention to the continuance intention among users. But understanding ways to cultivate user habits is important to enhance car sharing's contribution to sustainability. Based on the expectation confirmation model (ECM), this study adopts a user-centered perspective to explore factors affecting the continuance intention of time-sharing electric vehicles through personal cognitive variables (i.e., psychological ownership, familiarity, and trust) and external environmental variables (i.e., facilitating conditions and service quality). An online survey was conducted, and a total of 1072 valid samples were collected. The results of the structural equation modeling show that offline service quality and facilitating conditions had the greatest impact on the perceptions of usefulness and satisfaction users have for car sharing. Perceived usefulness and satisfaction positively predicted continuance intention, as in the ECM. Among customer variables, environmentalism, familiarity, and trust in peers positively predicted the perceived usefulness of car sharing. Psychological ownership played a subtle function by negatively affecting perceived usefulness but positively affecting satisfaction. With the rapid development of urbanization, it is an important goal for urban green space (UGS) to meet the needs of residents' production and life using a supply–demand evaluation method of ecosystem service (ES). However, most studies have considered all functional types of UGS as the supply side, or rely solely on a single supply or demand side to conduct ecosystem service function (ESF) evaluation, resulting in less accurate and targeted research findings. As a result, a novel methodological framework for matching each ESF with corresponding functional types of UGS, and considering both supply and demand sides have been required. Firstly, the object-oriented approach combining support vector machine (SVM) and normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) was used to automatically identify UGS, and integrated Point of Interest (POI), urban built-up area, road land, parcel, and socio-economic data to classify six functional types of UGS using the near-convex-hull. Next, matching the functional types of UGS with five ESFs, both supply and demand status were evaluated using the carbon sequestration and release analysis, Gaussian two-step floating catchment area, and spatial equilibrium degree methods. This method was demonstrated in Beijing, China. The results show: (1) the ES supply–demand situation provided by each functional type of UGS is different in five ESFs; (2) considering both supply and demand is more intuitive to see whether the city's demand for UGS has been met. Mustard, which belongs to the family Brassicaceae, is an annual or biennial herb and is considered as one of the most important native vegetables in China. Glucosinolates are important secondary metabolites containing sulfur and nitrogen in plants, which form a network with other metabolic pathways that play important roles in plant growth, development, and interaction with the environment. We studied varied phenotypic and glucosinolate contents of 60 mustard resources collected from various areas of China. The results showed both agronomic traits and glucosinolates varied greatly among mustard resources. We detected nine glucosinolates in mustard resources and the contents of total glucosinolates ranged from 1.2023 to 30.7310 μmol/g. Through the correlation analysis, we preliminarily found a significant negative correlation between leaf color and glucosinolate contents but needed further validation. For mustard resource JC 18-56, we analyzed the glucosinolate contents in different organs of different growth stages. The results indicated a significant difference among organs in both glucosinolates concentration and composition. The contents of glucosinolatess in alabastrums at bolting stage were highest, up to 140.1257 μmol/g dry weight (DW). We found that the main glucosinolates in roots were 4-methoxyglucobrassicin, while in other organs the glucosinolates were sinigrin. The contents of glucosinolatess in different organs of mustard were as follows: alabastrums > seeds > flowers > siliques > leaves > flower stems > stems > roots. The revised consensus guidelines for optimizing vancomycin doses suggest that maintaining the area under the concentration-time curve to minimal inhibitory concentration ratio (AUC/MIC) of 400–600 mg·h/L is the target pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) index for efficacy. AUC-guided dosing approach uses a first-order pharmacokinetics (PK) equation to estimate AUC using two samples obtained at steady state and one-compartment model, which can cause inaccurate AUC estimation and fail to achieve the effective PK/PD target early in therapy (days 1 and 2). To achieve an efficacy target from the third or fourth dose, two innovative approaches (Method 1 and Method 2) to estimate vancomycin AUC at steady state (AUCSS) using two-compartment model and three or four levels after the first dose are proposed. The feasibility of the proposed methods was evaluated and compared with another published dosing algorithm (Method 3), which uses two samples and a one-compartment approach. Monte Carlo simulation was performed using a well-established population PK model, and concentration-time profiles for virtual patients with various degrees of renal function were generated, with 1000 subjects per group. AUC extrapolated to infinity (AUC0–∞) after the first dose was estimated using the three methods, whereas reference AUC (AUCref) was calculated using the linear-trapezoidal method at steady state after repeated doses. The ratio of AUC0–∞: AUCref and % bias were selected as the indicators to evaluate the accuracy of three methods. Sensitivity analysis was performed to examine the influence of change in each sampling time on the estimated AUC0–∞ using the two proposed approaches. For simulated patients with various creatinine clearance, the mean of AUC0–∞: AUCref obtained from Method 1, Method 2 and Method 3 ranged between 0.98 to 1, 0.96 to 0.99, and 0.44 to 0.69, respectively. The mean bias observed with the three methods was −0.10% to −2.09%, −1.30% to −3.59% and −30.75% to −55.53%, respectively. The largest mean bias observed by changing sampling time while using Method 1 and Method 2 were −4.30% and −10.50%, respectively. Three user-friendly and easy-to-use excel calculators were built based on the two proposed methods. The results showed that our approaches ensured sufficient accuracy and achieved target PK/PD index early and were superior to the published methodologies. Supplementation using selenium (Se) on plants is an effective and widely used approach. It can not only be converted to more Se rich compounds but promote the accumulation of glucosinolates (GSLs) with anti-carcinogenic properties. However, the molecular mechanism of Se in regulating GSLs synthesis remains unclear. In the present study, we analyzed the effects of Se treatment (50 μM sodium selenite) on GSLs, glucoraphanin (4MSOB), and sulforaphane compounds in broccoli tissues. The transcript levels of genes involved in sulfur absorption and transport, GSLs biosynthesis, translocation, and degradation pathways were also evaluated. The study showed that Se treatment remarkably promoted the accumulation of total sulfur and total Se contents and increased Trp-derived GSLs levels in roots by 2 times. The 4MSOB concentration and sulforaphane content in fresh leaves was increased by 67% and 30% after Se treatment, respectively. For genes expressions, some genes involved in sulfate uptake and transporters, GSLs biosynthesis, and transporters were induced strongly upon Se exposure. Results revealed that exogenous Se treatment promotes the overaccumulation of GSLs and 4MSOB content in broccoli by activating the transcript levels of genes involved in sulfur absorption, GSLs biosynthesis, and translocation pathways. Climate change can impact the yield and water footprint of crops. Therefore, assessing such impacts carries great significance for regional water and food security. This study validated and verified the variety parameters of winter wheat for the Decision Support System for Agrotechnology Transfer (DSSAT) model, using the long-term (1993–2013) growth and yield data observed from six agricultural experiment stations in the Haihe River Basin (HRB), China. The growth process was simulated under three representative concentration pathways (RCPs), named RCP2.6, RCP4.5, and RCP8.5—climate scenarios driven by the HadGEM2-ES model. The variety parameters of winter wheat showed high accuracy in the simulation of the anthesis and maturity dates, and could be used for long-term prediction of the growth process. The trends of climate change had positive impacts on the water footprint of winter wheat but adverse impacts on the yield. The growing period was shortened by 3.6 days, 4.7 days, and 5.0 days per decade in the RCP2.6, RCP4.5, and RCP8.5 scenarios, respectively, due to the rapid accumulation of heat. The yield would be increased in lower emissions scenarios (17% in RCP2.6), but decreased in high-emissions scenarios due to high temperatures, which may restrict the growth of wheat. The water footprint was decreased by 10%, 11%, and 13% in the RCP2.6, RCP4.5, and RCP8.5 scenarios, respectively, indicating that the water-use efficiency could be improved in the future. Assessing the supply and demand of urban green space (UGS) ecosystem services (ESs) can provide relevant insights for urban planning. This study presents an analysis method for the spatial distribution of UGS ES supply and demand at administrative unit and 1-m grid scales and directly compares the matches of ES supply and demand in spatially explicit maps at two scales. Based on the analysis results at administrative unit scale, administrative units with an unbalanced UGS ES supply and demand were divided into three types: (Ⅰ) lack of green space; (Ⅱ) unreasonable green space structure; (Ⅲ) comprehensive, and different optimization schemes were put forward. According to the analysis results at 1-m scale, the regions with an unbalanced ES supply and demand of an administrative unit were divided into the following: (1) severe ES shortage area; (2) moderate ES shortage area; (3) mild ES shortage area, and the severe ES shortage area was taken as the UGS optimization area. We take the UGS within the 5th Ring Road of Beijing as an example and propose suggestions for optimizing the UGS pattern based on the evaluation of the supply and demand of UGS carbon sequestration services and purification services for particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter <2.5 µm (PM2.5). This study provides an easy-to-use evaluation method for the spatial distribution of UGS ES supply and demand and proposes different optimization suggestions for the unbalanced area, thus playing a role in UGS construction activities and green space structure optimization. Urban industrial land (UIL), which is classified for industrial purposes, is an indispensable component of urban land. Obtaining up-to-date and timely UIL details from the industrial development perspective has practical significance for UIL planning. Therefore, we propose a practical method for integrating UIL identification and use efficiency evaluation at the parcel scale based on multi-source data. The Open Street Map (OSM) data were utilized to generate parcels, which served as basic analytical units. Point of Interest (POI) data combined with a Continuous Bag-of-Words (CBoW)-based Word2Vec model was utilized to acquire UIL information. The entropy-weight Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution method, combined with economic and environmental UIL indicators obtained from remote sensing images, ground observation data, and statistical data, was used to evaluate UIL use efficiency, and the spatial distribution and utilization degree of UIL within Beijing's fifth ring road was analyzed. The region within Beijing's fifth ring road was classified into commercial land, industrial land, and other types, with an overall accuracy of 92.24%. With this method, we found that the distribution of UIL presented a ring structure developing outwards along the ring roads and contained concentrated commercial areas. UIL utilization exhibited a south–north differentiation, and industrial land had lower use efficiency. Our work fully utilized the available fine-scale multi-source data. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

With the degradation of the environment and the acceleration of urbanization, urban residential land has been undergoing rapid changes and has attracted great attention worldwide. Meanwhile, the quantitative evaluation of the suitability of urban residential land is essential for a better and more powerful understanding of urban residential land planning and improvement. Most urban land suitability studies rely solely on remote sensing data and GIS data to evaluate natural suitability, and few studies have focused on urban land suitability from a socioeconomic perspective. Consequently, this paper integrates remote sensing data (GaoFen-2 satellite image) and social sensing data (Tencent User Density data, Point-of-interest data and OpenStreetMap data) to establish an evaluation framework for analyzing the suitability of urban residential land in the Haidian District, Beijing, China, in which, ecological comfortability, locational livability and overall suitability were evaluated according to five attributes extracted from urban residential land via the factor analysis method. The evaluation results of this case study show that, compared with the suburban area in the northwest, the urban area tends to have lower ecological comfortability and higher locational livability. The overall suitability increases from southeast to northwest, consistent with the spatial distribution of ecological comfortability. In the globalized world, water utilization and carbon emissions are two important indicators for water and energy resources evaluation. This paper investigates the inter-sectoral linkage and external trade of virtual water (water embodied in products) and embodied carbon emissions in China based on input–output tables during 1997–2015. Results indicate that: inside China, agriculture, the electric and water industry are major virtual water suppliers, while heavy industrial sectors including the metal products industry, the petrochemical industry, other nonmetallic mineral products industry, and the mining industry are major embodied carbon emissions suppliers. China is the net exporter of virtual water (137.15 × 109 m3) and embodied carbon emissions (16.05 × 108 t). From the perspective of industrial chain, about 81% of virtual water export come from agriculture, the electric and water industry ultimately, and about 85% of embodied carbon emissions export come from the mining industry, the petrochemical industry, other nonmetallic mineral products industry, the metal products industry, and the electric and water industry ultimately. Assessing the water footprint (WF) of crops is key to understanding the agricultural water consumption and improving water use efficiency. This study assessed the WF of wheat and maize in the Haihe River Basin (HRB) of Northern China over the period1956–2015, including rain-fed, sufficient, and insufficient irrigation conditions by different irrigation intensity to understand the agricultural water use status. The major findings are as follows: (1) The annual average total WF of wheat and maize production is 20.1 (52% green, 29% blue, and 19% grey) and 15.1 (73% green, 3% blue, and 24% grey) billion m3 year−1, respectively. The proportion of grey WF is much larger than the world average; (2) Wheat has larger unit WF (1580 m3 t−1) than maize (1275 m3 t−1). The unit WF of both wheat and maize shows exponentially decreasing trends, indicating that water use efficiency has been improved. The unit WF is heterogeneous in space, which is larger in Tianjin and Huanghua and smaller in the Southern HRB; (3) Rain-fed crops have the largest unit WF, followed by crops under insufficient and sufficient irrigation conditions for both wheat and maize. To improve the sustainability of water resources, the application of fertilizer must be reduced, and irrigation is an effective way to improve water use efficiency in water-abundant areas.
