Abstract

The article focuses on the Employment Guarantee Scheme, sponsored by the government of India for the state of Rajasthan. The scheme, which guaranteed at least 100 days of work for people willing to perform manual labor, was the subject of a social audit. The audit found that the majority of the laborers were women and that there were few instances of corruption.
