Publications in Renal Failure in Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-EXPANDED) between 1992 and 2021 were analyzed. Six publication indicators: total, independent, collaborative, first author, corresponding author, and single author publications as well as their related citation indicators, were used to compare performances of countries, institutes, and authors. Comparison of the highly cited papers and journal's impact factor (IF) contributors was discussed. In addition, the main research topics in the journal were presented. Results show that China published the most total articles and reviews, as well as the first-author papers and corresponding-author papers in the journal. The Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan ranked the top in five publication indicators: total, single-institution, inter-institutionally collaborative, first author, and corresponding-author papers. A low percentage of productive authors emerged as a journal IF contributor. Similarly, only a limited relationship between highly cited papers and IF contributing papers was found. Publications related to hemodialysis, chronic kidney disease, and acute kidney injury were the most popular topic, while meta-analysis was new focus in the last decade in the journal. This article collected papers published by Chinese archaeologists in Chinese and World core journals (CCJs and WCJs for short) in the past century. Based on bibliometric analysis, the general characteristics and trends of Chinese archaeology were summarized. In a macroscopic perspective, historiography-rooted archaeology focusing on historical periods and central areas of China and preferring traditional archaeological methods (mainly a culture-historical paradigm) will continue to occupy a leading position in China. Simultaneously, interdisciplinary research and internationalisation will likely continue to develop and diversify Chinese archaeology, though the speed is unknown due to the impact of the pandemic. The present study is aimed toward examining the attention received by research papers through social and electronic media in business research. In recent years, altmetrics has emerged as a complementary measure of the impact of research works besides citation analysis and bibliometrics. Using the altmetric attention score (AAS) the paper is the first research of its kind to shed light on the characteristics of 100 papers receiving the highest online attention. Various predictors of online engagement with articles in business research journals having an impact factor greater than 6 are discussed. Data was collected from the Dimensions.ai database and analyzed using R statistical software. It is found that the Journal of Business Ethics contributed maximum papers with the highest AAS followed by the Journal of Business Research. Using the Kruskal-Wallis rank-sum test it was determined that AAS in business research is dependent upon article type, topics, and journal of publication. Artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as an innovative technology with the potential to revolutionize various industries including libraries and information science. Academic libraries are increasingly adopting artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance services, improve efficiency, and enhance user experience. This study utilizes a bibliometric approach to comprehensively analyze current research on AI in academic libraries (AI in ALs). This study employed bibliometric indicators to identify key trends, patterns, and research gaps in the existing literature. A comprehensive dataset of 373 research papers on AI in ALs published between 2002 and 2022 was collected and analyzed using the Scopus database. Various bibliometric tools, such as Biblioshiny, VOSviewer, and BibExcel, have enhanced this analysis. The findings of this study provide important insights. By 2022, there were 64 publications, constituting 17.16% of the total corpus, accompanied by 65 citations. In contrast, 2019 witnessed only 33 publications yet accumulated a substantial number of citations, amounting to 294, representing 8.85% of the overall citations. Conference papers exhibited the highest frequency among different publication types, with 165 publications, whereas journal articles had the highest citation count, accumulating 217 citations. Geographically, China emerged as the leading contributor with 119 publications, and Wuhan University stood out as the most prominent affiliation. Notably, the "Lecture Notes in Computer Science" series emerged as the most prolific source title, publishing 15 articles, of which eight were cited. Technological advances in tea production are critical to meet global demands for tea consumption. To illuminate differences in the scientific and commercial relevance of research programs between major tea-related research organizations around the world, we conducted a bibliometric analysis comparing the scientific outputs, including peer-reviewed publications and patents, of six major research organizations published between January 01, 2008 and July 11, 2020. For this competitive ranking analysis, we examined a number of papers, research topics, academic influence, capacity for development, capacity for collaboration, and capacity for technological innovation. Among the six research organizations, Anhui Agricultural University (in China) had the most publications, while the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Tea Research Institute showed a higher capacity for development. The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (in India) and the University of Shizuoka (Japan) both showed high academic influence, while the University of Shizuoka, Tea Research Association Tocklai and National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (Japan) showed a high capacity for collaboration. We utilized cross tabulation statistics, word frequency counts, and content analysis of research output to conduct a bibliometric study, and used CiteSpace software to depict a knowledge map for research on entrepreneurship education in China from 2004 to 2013. The study shows that, in this duration, the study of Chinese entrepreneurship education experienced a progression through three stages, an “exploratory stage of learning from foreign models,” a “developmental stage geared toward employment problems,” and a “transformative stage promoting cultivation of student abilities,” and featured three primary characteristics, “multidisciplinary fusion,” “imbalanced regional distribution,” and “policy orientation.” In the future, popular fields in the study of entrepreneurship education are to be concentrated in the three areas, namely “entrepreneurship education and talent cultivation,” “entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial environments,” and “entrepreneurship education and innovation education.” [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]

In this study, 285 Chinese core journal papers involving early childhood sports in the CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure) database from 1993 to 2022 were selected as samples. Text mining and data statistical analysis tools, such as BICOMB2.0, SPSS22.0, UCINET6.0, EXCEL2016, and other research methods in bibliometrics, such as word frequency analysis, co word clustering analysis, multidimensional scale analysis, and strategic coordinate map analysis, were used to explore the status and evolutionary trends of early childhood sports in China. The results are as follows: Since 2011, the annual number of documents has indicated a wave-like increasing trend every year, reaching its peak in 2020. In total, 237 institutions participated in this study. The journal distribution of papers in this field was close to the 1:4:16 ratio of Bradford's law. Team science refers to research initiatives considered in collaboration with scientists from different disciplines or fields. This paper presents a bibliometric analysis for visualization of global research activity concerning the combination of cancer and the COVID-19 pandemic using a team science approach. A bibliometric study was implemented using Web of Science from 2019 to 2021. We analyzed citations to identify description and citations analysis of results, most prolific countries, international research collaboration, most prolific institutions, research areas, most cited papers, and most productive journals. The preliminary data of 2,313 studies that adopted a team science approach were recorded and analyzed. Team science is becoming progressively popular in cancer research. The United States was the most active country, followed by Italy and China. The United States, the United Kingdom, and Italy had the highest level of cooperation with other countries. The most prolific institution was Harvard University, followed by University of London and the University of Texas System. Head and Neck Journal for the Sciences and Specialties of the Head and Neck, Frontiers in Oncology, and eCancerMedicalScience were the most productive journals. Governments, organizations, policymakers, and researchers should pay attention to team science approach at times of disasters such as cancer and COVID-19 to achieve the best strategies for controlling cancer that is currently a world problem. A total of 7,707 agronomy papers (2006 to 2011) by Chinese, Indian, and Japanese authors were identified in theWeb of Science(WoS) database. The impact factors (IFs) of papers and the uncited paper rate (UPR) in a particular journal with a given country's authorship was calculated as IFs calculated inJournal Citation Reports. For India, the impact factors of articles authored within one country (within-country impact factor) were significantly lower than the overall IF. The impact factors of collaborative articles (collaborative impact factor) and within-country impact factors for the three countries differed significantly. The uncited rates of collaborative papers (uncited collaborative paper rate) and uncited rates of papers authored within one country (uncited within-country paper rate) of China and Japan were significantly different. However, for India, the uncited collaborative paper rate was significantly lower than the uncited within-country paper rate; collaboration (mostly with developed countries) exerted a negative effect. Solid waste management refers to collecting, treating, and disposing of solid waste that has served its purpose or is no longer useful. The primary purpose of this research is to map and visualize the solid waste management literature indexed on the Web of science between 1966 and 2021 based on bibliometrics analysis. This study also identified the most productive authors, sources, organizations, countries, research areas, funding agencies etc. This study employed the bibliometric method to analyze global research productivity on solid waste management literature. A total of 4444 research papers downloaded from the Web of science during the study period. Bibliometrics software, namely Bibexcel, VOSviewer, Biblioshiny, and Microsoft Excel, used to analyze the data. The results show that there was 4444 publication with 78759 citations between 1966 and 2021. The maximum number of papers, i.e., 424 published in 2020, in 1966 single paper published and received one citation. The journal Waste management published 382 papers and became the most relevant source of the topic, whereas Huang GH recognized as the most prolific author with 214 papers. China contributed a significant number of research papers in the field, while the University of Regina, Canada, emerged as a top-performing institution. China and Canada together collaborated more in producing literature in solid waste management. The study concludes that there is a need for further bibliometric study of other related topics in waste management, such as liquid waste management and gasses waste management. This paper aims to provide a bibliometric analysis of green supply chain management in platform economy (GSCM-PE) literature. Based on the bibliometric approach, a descriptive analysis is engaged in the literature published from 2003 to 2020 in Web of Science. There are 1404 publications in this field of GSCM-PE. The number of publications has increased steadily since 2013. China is an essential contributor to this field, with the largest number of publications (356), followed by the USA (175) and England (116). However, China's total citation is 0.5 times that of the USA, which indicates that China needs further strengthened in quality. In addition, the cooperation between European and American countries is relatively active. Six clusters are identified from co-word network, and their main conclusions are as follows: (i) based on Internet technology, the application of SCM in business is the hottest topic and (ii) network risk and security requires further exploration. This paper uses the bibliometric method of knowledge mapping analysis to clearly present the knowledge base and research fronts of cross-market volatility spillovers. The results provide strong evidence that, first, the general theme of volatility spillovers can be divided into a variety of research topics, four of which are on the dynamics of volatility spillovers in world financial markets of various types based on multivariate GARCH or VAR models and construct a crucial knowledge base for this field; second, three research fronts can be identified using burst analysis, and they focus on examining spillover directions and magnitudes, testing volatility spillovers related to oil markets and international risk transmission mechanism of emerging markets; and, third, the major contributing scholars come from institutions in the United States,China and European economies. China is one of the countries with the highest public-private partnership (PPP) experience. Although numerous studies on PPP in China have been published in different international journals in the past decades, few relevant reviews have been found. In this research, a bibliometric analysis of 139 peer-reviewed articles on PPP in China is performed to reveal the research evolution and trend. Besides, a meta-analysis of 111 empirical articles among the total 139 articles is conducted using multinomial logistic regression to examine how data characteristics and analytical features have been utilized in this area. The major findings suggest that, first, many studies are published in the subject areas of Business, Management and Accounting, and Engineering, and most topics are discussed from the micro-level perspective. Second, the issues in the procurement phase lack enough attention. Third, for studies with different research themes, how data characteristics and analytical features have been utilized significantly differ. In general, how PPP studies are approached in China contrasts with the global PPP research. Future research directions are proposed. The research contributes to the global PPP body of knowledge and methodology by providing the first quantitative review of studies on PPP in China and by combining the research methods. Landslide susceptibility assessment (LSA) is a significant part of landslide research, which plays an important role in preventing landslide disasters. It has gained an increasing attention in both the academic and practice fields for the past two decades. However, there have been few bibliometric analyses on this topic, although bibliometric analysis can inspire future researchers by exploring the overall characteristics of the published literature. This article aims at collecting and analyzing the information of the abstracts, authors, institutions, countries, journals, funds, and keywords of the recent 4,732 papers published from 1999 to 2021 in Web of Science (www.webofscience.com). In particular, latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA), a machine learning and text analysis method, is utilized to analyze the abstract of each article to identify the hottest research topics related to LSA. The results revealed that: (1) The amount of annual publications related to LSA generally shows an increasing trend, which accounts for about 22% of the total landslide publications in 2021; (2) The author of Pradhan B, the institution of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the country of China, the journal of Natural Hazards and the funding agency of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, are the productive performers in each aspect of LSA; and (3) Machine learning methods have gained a rapid increase in LSA in recent five years, which have become the most popular research topic. Today the world is facing a major problem of getting rid of wastewater safely so that it does not disrupt the environment. The existing infrastructure and management systems are not adequate to cater to the increasing volume and changing quality of pollutants. Therefore, it becomes essential to manage wastewater and to use appropriate technologies and techniques for its treatment. In this study, the global research trends through wastewater treatment technologies was analyzed from 2000 to 2019 using Scopus database. Analysis of the existing database has been carried out based on the parameters such as trends in publication numbers, sources, institutions, authors, and countries. Scopus revealed a total of 11,757 journal articles, 2,933 conference proceedings, 1872 review papers, and 29,176 patents during this period, as on 9th May 2020, with the key words' wastewater, treatment, and technologies. This study compares China's research article outputs rankings with its innovation rankings in the world, in the perspective of China's high monetary rewards for research publications. It finds that there is a mismatch between China's publication outputs and "research quality and broad influence on inventions," and that the high monetary rewards for publications may have also led to some academic misconduct. This study's findings also correlate with the findings of studies on China's patent applications, which were found to be policy driven and to be results of policies which incentivize patenting but decrease patent quality. Internationalization is the major aim of most Chinese academic journals in their development frameworks to attract a sufficient amount of high quality contributions. This study used Scopus to conduct a bibliometrics analysis of the present international influence of Chinese pharmaceutical journals using multiple indicators including SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) scores, the number of foreign contributions, and the number of citations by foreign author, affiliation, and journal. Five representative titles were selected including Acta Pharmacologica Sinica, Yaoxue Xuebao, Chinese Pharmaceutical Journal, Zhongguo Zhongyao Zazhi, and Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines. Results show that the present international influence of most Chinese pharmaceutical journals still remains unsatisfactory and is characterized by few foreign manuscript contributions, low SJR scores, and narrow international citations. The Chinese government has been making great efforts to boost pharmaceutical development, which provides an unprecedented chance for Chinese pharmaceutical journals to promote their international influence and reputations. Multiple approaches have been proposed based on the successful experiences of some Chinese journals with well established international reputations including constructing an international editorial board, cooperating with international and prestigious publishing groups, creating an international peer review process, and expanding international readerships. The gradual establishment of systematic, equalized, and standardized basic public services has drawn attention of the academic community to the mismatch between supply-demand, and public dissatisfaction. Big-data-driven public services innovatively attempt to solve these problems, and reflect the theoretical essence of the process by which big data can empower the responsiveness of governments. In this study, we adopted the theoretical frameworks of 'diversified needs–selective responses', 'risk shocks–forward-looking responses', and 'forward-looking predictions–creative responses'. We propose that big data-driven public services should respond not only to present needs but also to social risks and future needs. Therefore, it is imperative to review the status, problems, and future directions of big data-driven public service research in China. This study uses bibliometric visualization analysis on data from research projects, monographs, and journal publications. The results reveal that the main research topics are basic theoretical issues, service-oriented government development guided by big data strategies, practical innovation of public services in the context of smart governance, and the effective supply of big data-driven public services. Previous studies suffered from weak theoretical reflection and construction, lacked relevant institutions, had less fine-grained and fragmented technical support, and lacked foresight and guidance. Attention should be paid to normative theories and institutions in big data-driven public services to ensure that these services are more targeted and prospective; creative research should be conducted. The systematic summarization of the current state of research and reflections on prospective and creative research trends will provide new ideas regarding future research directions. Medical and health care applications of nanotechnology have increasingly attracted research and innovation attention. Nano-biomedical science (NBMS) is a term we use to define this emerging domain. As China is one of the leading countries in nanotechnology, but lacks a long history as a biosciences leader, this paper explores the competitive positioning of China in the development of NBMS. Specifically, this paper profiles the research patterns of Chinese NBMS in comparison with the four other largest countries in NBMS, using bibliometric techniques. The results indicate that China is a leader in NBMS, leveraging its strengths in chemistry and physics in the broader nanotechnology domain. However, China's relative weakness in traditional biomedical disciplines, and its lack of presence in highly influential global journals, could prove to be limiting factors. Hypertensive nephropathy continues to be a major cause of end-stage renal disease and poses a significant global health burden. Despite the staggering development of research in hypertensive nephropathy, scientists and clinicians can only seek out useful information through articles and reviews, it remains a hurdle for them to quickly track the trend in this field. This study uses the bibliometric method to identify the evolutionary development and recent hotspots of hypertensive nephropathy. The Web of Science Core Collection database was used to extract publications on hypertensive nephropathy from January 2000 to November 2023. CiteSpace was used to capture the patterns and trends from multi-perspectives, including countries/regions, institutions, keywords, and references. In total, 557 publications on hypertensive nephropathy were eligible for inclusion. China (n=208, 37.34%) was the most influential contributor among all the countries. Veterans Health Administration (n=19, 3.41%) was found to be the most productive institution. Keyword bursting till now are renal fibrosis, outcomes, and mechanisms which are predicted to be the potential frontiers and hotspots in the future. The top seven references were listed, and their burst strength was shown. A comprehensive overview of the current status and research frontiers of hypertensive nephropathy has been provided through the bibliometric perspective. This study presents a bibliometric analysis of the publications on melatonin research from the Scopus database during the period 2015–2019. Based on the keywords used, which are related to melatonin in the article title, the study retrieved 4411 documents for further analysis using various tools. We used Microsoft Excel to conduct the frequency analysis, VOSviewer for data visualization, and Harzing's Publish or Perish for citation metrics and analysis. This study reports the results using standard bibliometric indicators such as the growth of publications, authorship patterns, collaboration, and prolific authors, country contribution, most active institutions, preferred journals, and top-cited articles. Based on our findings, there is a continuous growth of publications on melatonin research for 5 years since 2015. China was the largest contributor to melatonin research, followed by the United States. The Journal of Pineal Research published the most number of publications related to melatonin research. Our findings suggest that the role of melatonin in plant and food sciences, as well as in cancer, may in later years take over the clusters that earlier dominated melatonin research. The last three decades has witnessed a burgeoning comparative education as a field of study in Asia. In China comparative education has taken a phenomenal course from a small and relatively low-key field in search of an identity in the late 1970s to a vibrant one today with a sizable group of scholars across the country, seeking to integrate Western knowledge to the Chinese knowledge system for advancement and enhancement of Chinese education. In this paper we analyze the features of foreign knowledge adaptation in China and the strategies adopted to turn it from submissive transfer to integrated knowledge, which would then be presented as autonomous Chinese knowledge to the world for interaction on an equal footing with the countries of origin of the knowledge in a diverse, global world. The process involves socio-cultural adaptation and a change in ownership of knowledge. We conducted a two-tier investigation. First, we studied the development and nature of comparative education in China. Second, we conducted a bibliometric analysis of the entries in the last nine years (2001-2009) of Comparative Education Review (Bijiao jiaoyu yanjiu), which is the most prominent journal in the field in China, to chart the evolving nature of the field. We then discuss the discourse on the issues and directions in the field, which signifies an attempt to move away from knowledge transfer to knowledge interaction in the development of comparative education in China. In this study, we have found that comparative education is China-centric in the way that it is regarded a a means of knowing what happens in 'foreign countries'. However, the process has become almost exclusively a 'look West' approach, especially looking towards the United States in its comparisons. Yet this approach is far from uncontested and there are strenuous efforts made by Chinese scholars to reconstruct comparative education with Chinese characteristics, at least moving comparative studies from knowledge transfer to knowledge interaction for the benefit of the development of education in China. The review of this development is therefore itself a case study of the process of adaptation of foreign knowledge to a particular cultural context interplayed with transplantation, indigenization and integration. As the rise of China in the international sphere, Chinese discourse has received more and more attention from scholars of various disciplines. A bibliometric analysis maps the landscape of Chinese discourse studies (1994–2021) from the Web of Science, mainly concerning its research productivity, research focus and research impact, to investigate contemporary and future trends through co-authorship, co-occurrence, co-citation and citation analysis respectively. Studies on Chinese discourse were found to expand continuously. Discourse analysts are increasingly interested in media discourse, political discourse, regional discourse (especially Hong Kong and Taiwan) by adopting corpus approach with various analytical frameworks. This study was carried out to perform bibliometric analysis on e-logistics, which could not be found to be examined before in the literature, and create bibliometric networks through visualizations. The VOSviewer (ver. 1.6.17) program was used in the creation and visualization of bibliometric networks. According to the analysis results of this study, most publications in the field of e-logistics were published in 2004, the languages of the publications were mostly English, the country with the most publications was China, the most cited authors were Feng-Cheng Tung, Su-Chao Chang, and Chi-Min Chou, 2008 and according to Web of Science (WoS) categories, the most publications were understood to be in the computer science information systems category. According to the results of the bibliometric analysis using the creation and visualization of bibliometric networks, the most cited author was Ulieru, M. based on the co-citation author analysis, the most cited source was the International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management based on the co-citation source analysis, the country with the most documents was China based on the bibliographic coupling country analysis, and the most repeated keywords were e-logistics, e-commerce, logistics, supply chain management and reverse logistics based on the keyword co-occurrence analysis. Trade and investment between developing regions such as China and Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) are growing prominently. However, insights on crucial factors such as innovation in business and management (iBM) about both regions have not been scrutinized. This study presents the research output, impact, and structure of iBM research published about China and LAC in a comparative framework using three bibliographic databases/search engines: Google Scholar, Dimensions, and Microsoft Academic. Quantum computing is the next-generation technology for future human society. This article aims to give a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the global development status of quantum computing. First, the latest research hotspots of quantum computing are reviewed. Then multiple bibliometric metrics were used to analyse the current development status, research hotspots, technological trends, and the contribution of authors, institutions, and countries in quantum computing from 2016 to 2020. The results confirm that quantum computing is still under development, with the United States and China in the leading position, from where most critical scholars came. The most important institutions are scattered in the United States, China, and France. The characteristics of international cooperation, research impact, topics with the highest Prominence percentile, distinctive keyphrases, and leading source journals within the field were also analysed. Compared to buildings constructed in situ, prefabricated buildings (PBs) offer many environmental benefits in terms of carbon emissions, energy consumption, material consumption, and waste generation. To mitigate adverse impacts by the building sector on the environment, PBs have been widely applied in many countries. Although PB policies (PBPs) have played a significant role in guiding, supporting, and promulgating China's PB development, few studies have systematically investigated these PBPs. As a result, the evolution of PBPs in China is not clear, which limits practitioners' overall understanding of PBPs. To bridge this knowledge gap, a bibliometric analysis method was employed to review 136 PBPs issued in China from 1956 to 2019. Through text mining, a co-word network analysis, and a collaboration network analysis, we mapped, visualized, and described the PBP system over time. The evolution of PBPs can be divided into four phases: exploration (1956–1995), fluctuation (1996–2005), steady improvement (2006–2015), and rapid growth (2016–2019). Our findings indicate that the PB policy targets, policy objects, policy tools, performance indicators, and the collaboration structure of policymaking agencies have changed significantly across these phases. Lastly, the PB experience in China was compared with those of countries exhibiting higher levels of PB development, which can serve as a reference for PB development. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Despite sporadic surveys on the status quo of translation and interpreting studies in China (mainly interpreting studies), very little research has been undertaken on a large scale to understand the academic background of Chinese scholars. Intending to fill this gap, this study presents a survey of the academic background of translation and interpreting scholars in China. The analysis is mainly based on a survey of articles published between 2011 and 2015 in 16 important CSSCI and/or CORE journals. Through quantitative and qualitative content analyses, this study examines the academic background of Chinese scholars in terms of gender, age, affiliation, title, academic training/degree, overseas experience, research interest, thematic trend, and international output. Objective: The objective of this study was to explore the evolution footprints of simulated driving research in the past 20 years through rigorous and systematic bibliometric analysis, to provide insights regarding when and where the research was performed and by whom and how the mainstream content evolved over the years.Methods: The analysis began with data retrieval in Web of Science with defined search terms related to simulated driving. BibExcel and CiteSpace were employed to conduct the performance analysis and co-citation network analysis; that is, probe of the performance of institutes, journals, authors, and research hotspots.Results: A total of 3,766 documents were filtered out and presented an exponential growth from 1997 to 2016. The United States contributed the most publications as well as international collaborations followed by Germany and China. In addition, several universities in The Netherlands and the United States dominated the list of contributing institutes. The leading journals were in transportation and ergonomics. The leading researchers were also recognized among the 8,721 contributing authors, such as J. D. Lee, D. L. Fisher, J. H. Kim, and K. A. Brookhuis. Finally, the co-citation analysis illuminated the evolution of simulated driving research that covered the following topics roughly in chronological order: task-induced stress, drivers with neurological disorders, alertness and sleepiness while driving, trust toward driving assistance systems, driver distraction, the effect of drug use, the validity of simulators, and automated driving.Conclusions: This article employed bibliometric tools to probe the contributing countries, institutes, journals, authors, and mainstream hotspots of simulated driving research in the past 20 years. This article assembles research published in Chinese-language journals and the more mainstream English-language journals to present a critical review of the literature on service quality of travel agencies in China. A brief background to travel agencies in China and a bibliometric analysis of the literature is followed by a thematic analysis of conceptual articles. Combining this with a critical analysis of empirical studies allows for identification of theoretical and practical issues, notably the ambiguity and inconsistency that is pervasive in the conceptualization, operationalization and measurement of service quality. Entrepreneurship is an emerging research field that has received much scholarly attention in recent decades. Given the global scope of this attention, this article compares entrepreneurship research in China with that in the USA and Europe. Based on publications in Social Science Citation Index and Chinese Social Science Citation Index databases over the past 10 years, we use bibliometric method to analyse entrepreneurship research in different regions. Our analysis shows that, on the one hand, entrepreneurship research in China has much in common with such research in the USA and Europe. In addition to borrowing ideas from Western researchers, Chinese entrepreneurship researchers study similar themes and use similar theoretical foundations. On the other hand, Chinese contextual environment helps preserve the uniqueness of its entrepreneurship research. Researchers deal with several context-specific topics such asguanxi, i.e. networks of interpersonal relationships, and its influence on entrepreneurship. We further discuss ways for Chinese researchers to explore the distinct context and contribute to the global literature. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
