Abstract
This paper attempts to demonstrate with the help of empirical data that U.S. social science is parochial and that its relations with disciplines overseas are better suggested by dependency theory than by the collegiate mutuality of the concept of the international scientific community. The adverse effects upon the periphery are indicated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
