Value co‐creation as a research topic has been a critical proposition of interest to a wide range of disciplines. In recent years, the field of cultural heritage has also developed a range of information practices to promote different forms of value co‐creation. While the body of literature has begun to accumulate, we still lack a comprehensive understanding of conceptual foundations and how value co‐creation is implemented in cultural heritage information practices. This paper conducted a hermeneutic literature review to understand and conceptualize the core aspects of value co‐creation in various cultural heritage information works. In particular, this paper provides a research mapping of the genres of co‐creation in cultural heritage information practices, the actors, and the roles played by the stakeholders. Further, this review provides an overview of the dominant value co‐creation models in the cultural heritage field. It distills the drivers of value co‐creation and the core value consequences that arise from a process perspective. Finally, this paper puts forward a thematic, theoretical, and methodological agenda for future work based on these findings. The review contributes to the literature by proposing an integrated conceptual framework that summarizes the core elements of value co‐creation in cultural heritage information practices. In its mission to optimise the quality of patient care and the level of clinician training within the fields of biotherapy, the BioTherapeutics, Education and Research (BTER) Foundation and its Maggot Therapy Competency Committee identified qualities and achievements assessed to be the minimum standards that health care professionals should attain in order to be deemed competent in maggot therapy. The set of six standards were selected to reflect the same high degree of professionalism that is used by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education for assessing other medical specialists, but with an emphasis on the principles and practice of maggot therapy. For each domain in which competency is expected, the rationale has been explained, specific competencies have been articulated, and methods for demonstrating or evaluating those competencies have been suggested. Applicable to any clinician applying maggot dressings professionally, these recommendations should assist those who wish to identify, assess, or achieve competency in maggot therapy. Specifically, these six competencies include: (1) knowledge about wound care in general and maggot therapy in particular; (2) skill in general patient care, to a level commensurate with their professional role; (3) ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, and the general public; (4) professional and ethical behaviour; (5) ability to deliver systems‐based health care; (6) incorporation of continuing education and quality improvement into their practice. During the 25 year period preceding 1989, Scott Paper Co. was the most struck company in the primary mill segment of the paper industry. Management had invested years and countless dollars in reengineering the work process inside the organization. Progress was stymied without the support of the United Paperworkers International Union (UPIU) and employees. This struggle to redefine the relationship was not confined to Scott and the UPIU or to the paper industry as a whole. Volumes have been written about the wrenching shift in labor-management relationships and the reorganization of work throughout the United States. Companies and their unions were reinventing their relationships in order to compete. What was unique in this case was that Scott was the first paper company to approach the UPIU to work together on the International level. Many major shifts that occurred over the years are discussed in this article. To start with, collective bargaining was changed radically. A major shift occurred in the fabric of collective bargaining as well as significant change in traditional union and management roles.

This article contains the results produced by an international group of industrial managers, engineers, consultants and researchers who came together in a Roundtable meeting to formulate recommendations for integrating people, organization, and technology in modem advanced manufacturing environments. The wink of this Roundtable was focused on identifying what human factors knowledge manufacturing industry should be applying now to improve its competitive position. The Roundtable also proposed a R&D framework and agenda for the future which is aimed at ensuring that industrial and government funded research is directed at areas where industry can derive benefits or where deficiencies exist in relation to the design and operation of advanced manufacturing enterprises. The Association of State and Territorial Directors of Nursing vision for emergency preparedness is that every community, family, and individual will have a comprehensive emergency preparedness plan that minimizes the consequences of disasters and emergencies, and enables communities, families, and individuals to respond and recover. This position paper provides national and state policy guidance during emergencies to all public health nurses in the United States and its Territories. Public health nurses bring critical experience to each phase of a disaster: mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. Public health nurses strive to achieve individual competencies so that they may better collaborate with others and contribute to emergency preparedness and response. Twelve Emergency Preparedness Competencies are listed in this position paper that will assist public health nurses with disaster prevention, planning, response, recovery, drills, exercises, and training. This position paper will be useful in clarifying the expertise that public health nurses can contribute to teams that serve to protect the health and safety of communities against disaster threats and realities. Background: The selective publication of articles based on factors, such as positive outcome, statistical significance and study size is known as publication bias. If publication bias is present, any clinical decision based on a review of the published work will also be biased. Publication bias has been shown in various specialties, based on review of publication rates for abstracts presented at major scientific meetings. This study was conducted to investigate publication bias in orthopaedics. Methods: Abstracts presented at the 1998 Australian Orthopaedic Association Annual Scientific Meeting were reviewed independently by two reviewers. Details of sample size, study setting, country of origin, outcome and study type were recorded for each abstract. Publication within 5 years was ascertained by electronic searching of Medline and Embase databases and direct author contact. Logistic regression analysis was used to identify predictors of publication. Results: The overall publication rate was 31%. Publication was more likely if the study was a laboratory study, rather than a clinical study (odds ratio (OR), 3.45; 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.69–7.01, P < 0.001). Sample size, country of origin, study type, statistical significance and positive outcome were not significantly associated with publication. Conclusion: According to this study, laboratory studies were significantly more likely to be published than clinical studies. In contrast to previous studies, publication bias due to the selective publication of papers with a positive outcome or those reporting statistical significance was not found. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Journal of Engineering Education emerged in the engineering education community in 1993 as a continuation of the American Society of Engineering Education's journal, Engineering Education. The Journal of Engineering Education was to play a role in the broadening of engineering education culture by helping to bring the scholarship of engineering education to the same level of respect and recognition in the faculty reward system as traditional scholarship in engineering sciences. In doing so, the journal hoped to keep pace with and encourage the significant changes in engineering education needed to prepare for the challenges of 21st century practice. This paper discusses the engineering education environment as reflected in six years of papers published in the Journal of Engineering Education from 1996 to 2001. Topics of papers are identified, along with changes and trends in these topics during the six-year period. In addition, characteristics of particularly convincing papers are enumerated and discussed. This paper is offered as a summary and review of this six-year body of work on engineering education and should aid the engineering education community in reflecting on the success of the Journal in promoting and encouraging the scholarship of teaching. The article reports that the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) released a series of white papers on water distribution system issues that experts have ranked as potentially significant public health concerns relevant to the Total Coliform Rule. The white papers complement an earlier set of 10 papers on operational issues and were developed in cooperation with the American Water Works Association (AWWA). Topics addressed include intrusion, cross-connection control, aging infrastructure and corrosion, permeation and leaching, nitrification, biofilms and growth, covered storage, decay in water quality over time, and new and repaired water mains.

Women's groups in unions are collective, spaces within which women seek to advance their concerns and access empowering positions. This paper examines their pursuit of gender equality in unions. The need to explore unions and women's groups is heightened by women's significance as a source of union membership, and the connection between union revitalization and responsiveness to women. The paper uses case studies of two unions, MSF and USDAW, and seven women's groups. The analysis is structured by a typology of two frameworks: (i) a typology of gendered equality ideas derived from various literatures, and (ii) the dynamic and linked dimensions of Hyman's (1994) union organization model. The author reflects on the discontinuation of four year of editorship in journal Occupational and Organizational Psychology (JOOP). He states the running the journal requires teamwork and he is honored to work with editorial board. He also comments the high quality of the paper in the journal JOOP increased substantially. The author concludes that JOOP survived enormously past 4 years in the field of work and organizational psychology.

The period when the British Educational Research Association (BERA) was founded was one in which there was an increasing recognition amongst the research community that a wind of change had stirred up the settled traditions of educational research. It was a time which celebrated the promise of alternative paradigms for research. Ten or so years on we are entering another era where the emphasis is not on the reconceptualisation of what research is but on how it is organised. I think one can discern at least two factors, not wholly separate from each other, that will increasingly influence how a substantial part of research will be organised. These two factors are the changes which have taken place in the composition of the research community and the direction of current Government policy concerning the school system. Rapid urban growth is occurring across Australia. This has implications for planning and management of cities. Data is key to tackling this. Hitherto, an extensive range of organisations has held the data for Australian cities, crossing government, industry and academia. With the growing demand for open data and capabilities to support big data analytics, new opportunities now exist to rectify this situation. The Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN) project has been funded to provide seamless, secure access to data from definitive organisations of Australia. This article presents abstracts of papers presented at the Nineteenth Annual Meeting of The Society for Psychophysiological Research held in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 18-21, 1979. As in recent years, the majority of the research reports were given and discussed informally at two Science Fairs, on October 18 and 20. In addition, research reports were presented at two traditional paper sessions and others were included in the Display and Discussion poster session which ran in tandem with the meetings. Several symposia, invited addresses, and workshops were also included in this year's program.

This article presents abstracts of research papers presented at the 14th Annual Meeting of the Society for Psychophysiological Research. The paper on "Cardiac Components of the Defense in Infants," by W.K. Berg, found that the majority of studies of heart rate responses in alert infants report only deceleratory change, a component of the orienting response. The paper "Negative Slow Potentials Emitted by Participants in an EEG-Controlled Computer Game," by P.A. Brickett, found that CNV are produced prior to a required EEG response.

As methods of publishing documents have moved from paper to a wide variety of electronic formats, the publication policies of the System Dynamics Society have also changed from full-text paper proceedings to a mix of paper abstracts, and CD-ROM and Web-based full-text documents. These changes have been instituted not only to facilitate access to documents, but also to save the considerable cost of publishing full-text volumes for conferences. Interview research at the 1997 System Dynamics Conference in Istanbul, Turkey looked at participants' access to and use of electronic information technologies for full-text conference articles. Interviewees reported lack of technology, insufficient knowledge about technologies, lack of professional incentives, and institutional demands as barriers to the use of strictly paperless dissemination of information. The Society will need to consider a multi-step transition to electronic proceedings, serving as an educator as well as clarifying the roles of the proceedings and the journal for dissemination of differing sorts of information about research in this field. This article presents an overview of the agenda of the International Association for Research in Income and Wealth's Twenty-Ninth General Conference in Joensuu, Finland, August 20-26, 2006. The session will include papers concerning measurement of wealth from both a micro and a macro point of view, methodological issues concerning micro and macro estimates, the relationship between micro and macro estimates as well as comparative studies on portfolio composition and the distribution of wealth. By 2006, member states of the European Union will be required to measure many parts of government output in volume terms directly. This session will discuss the state of the art in the measurement of government output and productivity following these developments and discuss how the views of producers of economic statistics and the needs of policy makers can be reconciled. Poverty and low income among children is a policy concern of increasing resonance in many rich and developing countries. The objective of this session is to highlight new developments in the measurement of child poverty, offer comparisons in levels and changes of child poverty rates across rich and developing countries, and relate poverty and low income to the well being of children as well as their capacity to become successful adults.

The establishment of foundations for operational research (OR) enables OR academic researchers to ground their theoretical research. As OR consultants, we compete for commercial contracts with clients based on our practical expertise. The paper seeks to identify the economic foundations of this contracting process, to separate those aspects most likely to endure from those that are more ephemeral. The focus of the analysis is on the behaviour of the players in the consulting services market. The market for consultancy thrives despite the fact that it is difficult for both consultants and clients to understand what is being sought and what is being offered. A key question for everyone concerned is how this problem is resolved in practice. The paper distils existing theories into a set of foundational statements that inform OR research aimed at improving the practice of OR consultants and client interactions.
