Many methods exist for solving the problem of evaluating efficiency in different processes. They are divided into two basic groups, parametric and non-parametric methods, which can have significant differences in the results. In this study, the authors consider the process of assessing the business climate depending on realized foreign investments. Due to the expected difference in efficiency assessment using different approaches, the goal of this paper is to create an optimization model of an ensemble for efficiency assessment that uses both types of methods with the aim of creating a symmetrical approach that achieves better results than each type of method individually. The proposed solution simultaneously analyzes the impact of different factors on foreign investments in order to determine the most important factors and thus enable each local government to ensure the best possible efficiency in this process. The innovative idea of this study is in the inclusion of classification and feature selection methods of machine learning to fulfill the set goal. Our research, focused on a specific case study in various cities across the Republic of Serbia, evaluated the effectiveness of that process. Social media is a new emerging field in agricultural marketing, and its use is rapidly evolving, upgrading, and expanding. The aim of this study is to determine the attitudes of agricultural product producers in central Serbia regarding the use of social media in their business, with a focus on identifying the perception of the promotional potential of social networks themselves. The research included a final sample of 200 respondents. The basic hypothesis in this paper is that the internet as a technology for e-commerce, information, and advertising has great potential to improve the position of farmers and producers, but it is not fully utilized. Whether investment in environmental protection is conditioned by the solvency of agricultural companies, due to the growing importance of environmental sustainability, is the topic of this paper. The goal of the research is to determine, on a sample of 40 agricultural companies, whether investment in environmental protection is conditioned by solvency in a three-year period. Solvency, which is relatively good in the sampled companies, is not correlated with investment in the environment, in the analyzed time period, based on the quantification of descriptive data from the annual report. The level of disclosure of the environmental dimension of the sustainability of agricultural companies in Serbia is at a very poor level and the ESG reporting concept is necessary. The research indicates non-compliance with the legal obligation of non-financial reporting on environmental protection of agricultural companies, which indicates that educational, legal and regulatory measures must be urgently taken in order to make the reporting as representative as possible. The subject of this paper is human resources in the field of science and technology in the Republic of Serbia. The aim is to establish the state and tendencies regarding the number and structure of human resources in the mentioned field. Accordingly, several research questions were defined. Open data (2018-2021) of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia were used. The results showed that the average number of employees who have either higher education or are employed in the field of science and technology was 991.9 thousand and on average their number was growing. The majority were women, whose number and share increased on average. The average number of employees who have higher education and are employed in the field of science and technology was 501.4 thousand and their number was growing on average, including people of both genders. The majority were women, whose share was constant with a tendency to minimal decrease. The average number of employees aged 15-74 who are employed in the field of science and technology was 731.2 thousand and on average their number was growing, including persons of both genders. The majority were women, whose share was constant with a tendency to minimal increase. The most important sector in the field of science and technology was education. It is concluded that there are positive tendencies regarding the number of human resources in the field of science and technology in Serbia, especially when it comes to women. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Sustainable consumption of construction materials is an important segment of sustainable development goals towards reducing climate change. Since the consumption of natural aggregates raises environmental concerns, there is an increasing demand for use of recycled aggregates (RAs), as it enhances social and environmental benefits and creates a market opportunity. This paper presents the practice of using recycled construction and demolition waste (CDW) in the Belgrade city area (Serbia) as a resource. Two groups of CDW from Vinča landfill site near Belgrade are analyzed: raw material before, and RAs after, construction of a recycling facility on site. Comprehensive characterization is performed (including particle size distribution, density, water and organic pollutants content, various mechanical resistances, flakiness index, etc.) and compilation of samples analyzed and compared to show a holistic overview. The test outputs in both groups show acceptable values and meet required standards, indicating that recycled CDW generated in the Belgrade area can be used as a substitute to natural aggregates. In addition to that, the environmental and economic benefits from this use as a substitute are analyzed and discussed, proving the substantial income from sold Ras and the landscaping benefits, as well as ecological and economic benefits from energy savings. During 2022 and 2023, Industry 5.0 attracted a lot of attention. Many articles and papers regarding the basics of Industry 5.0, its pillars, and a comparison of Industry 5.0 and Industry 4.0, Society 5.0, and Operator 5.0 have been published. Although the concept of Industry 5.0 is relatively new, companies from developed countries that have a high level of implementation of Industry 4.0 have already started the transition to Industry 5.0. Even though Industry 5.0 enables developing countries to become a part of developed countries' value chains, it is not known which path to Industry 5.0 developing countries are taking. To fill this gap, the authors proposed research questions regarding the key indicators for measuring the levels of implementation of Industry 5.0 approaches in the manufacturing sector of the Republic of Serbia. This research includes insights from 146 manufacturing companies, gathered in 2022 as a part of the European Manufacturing Survey. The main findings of this study show that the most important indicator when it comes to human-centricity is training and competence development of production employees with a task-specific focus; the implementation of measures for improving efficiency in material consumption is significant for achieving sustainability; and the use of standardized and detailed work instructions is crucial in order to become resilient. The "beautiful viviparous fly", Wohlfahrtia magnifica, may have a magnificent appearance due to its striking morphology; however, it is a potentially deadly agent of obligate traumatic myiasis in humans and animals, with a serious impact on welfare and economics. The fly is found across the Palearctic realm, including the Western Balkan region, with reports from former Yugoslavian countries from the first half of the 20th century. In this paper, a recent case of wohlfahrtiosis recorded in Northern Serbia is evidenced using morphological and molecular techniques. Larvae were collected from two adult sheep with severe hoof myiasis and two young sheep with genital and interdigital myiasis. Morphological identification was performed for adults bred from the infested vulva and third-stage larvae (L3) collected from the hoof wounds, supported with barcoding sequences of the COI gene obtained from larval pairs from the hoof wounds of older and the genitalia of younger sheep. W. magnifica was identified according to the appearance of male fly terminalia and the morphology of L3, which was confirmed after the comparison of representative sequences of the COI gene (deposited in GenBank™ under accession numbers MT027108–MT027114) to those available in GenBank™. This finding represents the first reported case of wohlfahrtiosis in the Western Balkans in 80 years, highlighting the need to re-inform relevant stakeholders to achieve adequate disease control. Masonry has been widely used for the construction of residential buildings in Serbia and the majority of European countries. Confined masonry (CM) is a contemporary masonry technology that consists of load-bearing masonry walls enclosed in lightly reinforced horizontal and vertical reinforced concrete (RC) confining elements. CM has been widely used for the construction of low-rise and mid-rise residential buildings in Serbia and the region (Yugoslavia) since the 1960s. The design case study of a typical multi-family residential building located in Niš, Serbia (the third-largest urban center in the country), is discussed in this paper. This building was initially designed as a five-story CM structure in accordance with the 1981 Yugoslav seismic design code PTN-S, which was enforced in Serbia until 2019, when the Eurocode was adopted for official seismic design codes. Due to architectural constraints, the original design solution involving the CM system was not compliant with the code; hence, an alternative design using an RC-frame system with masonry infills was adopted. A comparison of two different design solutions provides insight into the different requirements of seismic design codes that have been used in the region. It is important to observe that seismic forces for RC structures determined in accordance with the PTN-S code are considerably lower compared to the ones determined according to EC 8-1, with the ratio ranging from 0.37 to 0.69. The seismic shear force according to Eurocode 8 is 1.46 times higher than the force that was used for seismic design according to the PTN-S code in the case of RC-frame structures. The results of an analysis of CM structures show that the seismic shear force in accordance with Eurocode 8 is almost 2.6 times higher than the force that was used for seismic design in accordance with the PTN-S code. The findings of this study are believed to be useful for understanding the difference in seismic design solutions for previous seismic design codes (which were used in the region for more than 40 years) and the present codes (Eurocodes). The paper deals with the production and economic indicators of farms in the Republic of Serbia based on data collected from the FADN sample for 2019. The aim of the research is to analyze and evaluate the influence of important factors on profitability of farms of different economic size. According to their economic size, farms are classified into four groups: very small, small-sized, mid-sized and large-sized farms. Factors influencing profitability are grouped into: production management, financial management, human resources management and subsidies and natural factors. The statistical technique used in the paper is a multiple regression model applied to determine statistically significant influence of certain factors on profitability. The results of the research show that equity turnover is the factor with the greatest positive impact on profitability of farms regardless of their economic size. Paid labour has the greatest negative impact on very small, small-sized and mid-sized farms. Further research should focus on analysis of the financial performance of small and medium farms which, based on the available capacities and income, are the main drivers of development of the entire agricultural sector. Research Question: The aim of this paper is to determine the factors influencing safety climate in different industrial sectors in project-based organizations. Motivation: Systematic research on occupational safety is not so frequent in the Republic of Serbia. The lack of research that deals with safety climate in project-based organizations exploring the attitudes of employees in different industrial sectors is evident. In the research conducted by Milijic et al. (2013) a model for measuring safety climate factors was proposed and the following step is to identify the most important safety climate issues for each industrial sector as a key to fostering better safety performance. Chen et al. (2018a) concluded that engagement at all levels of the company is essential to fostering better safety performances as well as that safety awareness is the most important factor influencing workers' safety efficiency. The authors of the present paper seek those particular factors that adequately describe safety climate in project-based organizations by examining the attitudes of workers in different industrial sectors. Idea: The main idea of this paper is to evaluate and rank safety climate in different industrial sectors and different workplaces considering the following five factors of safety climate: Safety and competence awareness, Occupational safety management commitment, Safety training and tools, Safety practices and procedures and Organizational environment. Data: Safety climate analysis was conducted on a set of data collected as a part of a survey carried out in eleven project-oriented organizations operating in different industrial sectors on the territory of Serbia. Tools: This paper proposes a multi-criteria analysis of the data collected from a national survey using the Entropy-PROMETHEE-GAIA method. Findings: A complete ranking of safety climate in project-oriented organizations based on the opinions of employees in different industrial sectors resulted in Energy as the bestranked sector. On the other hand, the worst-ranked sector is High-rise construction. The results of the complete ranking of safety climate in project-oriented organizations based on the opinions of employees at different workplaces in different industrial sectors showed that the best-ranked alternatives were manager working places. When it comes to production workers on projects, the most favorable safety climate is in energy workplaces and for non-productive workers, while the most favorable safety climate is on projects in the field of mechanical engineering. Research question: The purpose of this paper is twofold: first, to examine the effects of acquisitions on organizational culture in terms of the degree of change in certain organizational culture dimensions, and second, to examine effects of organizational culture differences on the acquired company's performance. Motivation: Although many studies have examined the relationships among acquisitions, organizational culture and performance, especially the relationship between organizational culture differences and company performance in developed economies (Chatterjee et al., 1992; Weber & Camerer, 2003; Krishnan et al., 1997), little attention has been paid to the research into these relationships in the emerging economies. Understanding the cultural issues in the context of acquisition in the emerging economy will contribute to the literature and enable comparison of research results with results obtained in developed economies. Idea: The core idea of this paper was to empirically evaluate the relationship among acquisitions, organizational culture and performance on the example of an acquired company in the Republic of Serbia, as the emerging economy. The paper focuses on exploring the employees' perceptions of organizational culture change in the period after the acquisition, as well as managers' perceptions of the acquired company's performance. Data: The survey was conducted in the company operating in the Republic of Serbia which was the subject of cross-border acquisition. The sample consists of 344 respondents (managers and employees) from the acquired company. Tools: Descriptive statistical analysis, Mann-Whitney U-test and regression analysis were applied in the study. Findings: The results of the research demonstrate that innovation as a dimension of organizational culture has changed to a greatest extent. Further, the results show that there are no statistically significant differences in the ways of how managers and employees perceive changes in organizational culture. Additionally, the results of the research show that organizational cultural differences have a positive influence on performance of the acquired company. Contribution: This paper contributes to a better understanding of the significance of organizational culture changes in an acquired company in the emerging economy and formulates practical suggestions for the managers in future acquisitions. Background: There is a growing need for logistics professionals in different positions and with different competencies. The key question is how to attract and retain a highly skilled workforce. The purpose of this research is to determine what factors and how they affect employee's satisfaction and loyalty in the logistics sector in the Serbian market; Methods: The impact of company size, primary business activity and employee position on labor loyalty and fluctuation were examined. The research hypotheses were tested on the basis of data obtained from a web survey that included 270 respondents from different industrial sectors in the Serbian market. Linear regression was used for hypothesis testing; Results: The results showed, among other things, that salary and advancement possibility are the main motives for changing jobs. The importance of basic professional knowledge acquired at the faculty for employment and working in various companies was confirmed; Conclusions: There are no papers in the literature that investigate job satisfaction and employee turnover in the logistics market. The results of this research, on the one hand, provide useful and accurate information for decision-making in order to improve the situation in the observed market, while on the other hand, provide an excellent basis for future research. The paper introduces and interprets the corporatist plan of organizing and establishing the 'Serbian Peasant Cooperative State,' which was developed by the collaborationist authorities in Serbia during World War II. Born out of deep disillusionment with interwar parliamentarism and under the influence of the German occupation system in Serbia, this unrealized concept of state organization was an ultra-conservative response to the political conditions in occupied Serbia, as well as one of the aspects of its planned integration into Hitler's new imperial order founded on the premise of Nazi hegemony and known as 'New Europe.' The present analysis is based on the limited number of surviving primary historical sources that testify to the genesis and character of the draft proposal. This paper primarily considers the legal framework for the formation and functioning of a joint investigation team at the level of the European Union, with specific reference to the consequences that these rules may have on shaping the legislative framework of the Republic of Serbia in this area. In analyzing the Serbian normative framework, the authors particularly focus on practical considerations in the process of setting up of a joint investigation team and the original elements of this progressive tool of international cooperation, established and funded by Eurojust (EU Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation). The second focal point of this paper is the support that may be provided by Eurojust in the process of formation and functioning of joint investigative teams, whose participants include both EU Member States and non-EU countries. In this regard, the authors consider the cooperation of the Republic of Serbia with Eurojust and present the opportunities for further strengthening of international cooperation with the EU Member States Union after signing the Cooperation Agreement between Eurojust and the Republic of Serbia in 2019. This paper analyzes the semantic aspect of the effect of populism in power on parliamentarism. The research focuses on the case of Serbia between 2001 and 2022, which corresponds to the post-Milošević era of contemporary Serbian political history and includes a decade before and after the populist Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) took power in 2012. Drawing on the traditions of conceptual history and rhetorical political analysis, this paper reconstructs the debate over the concept of parliamentarism in Serbian parliamentary debates during the period under observation in order to analyze how populist agents' interpretation and use of the concept of parliamentarism related to and affected established conceptual conventions. The paper argues that the excessive centralization of power in the hands of the populist executive, which marked the first decade of SNS rule, was accompanied by SNS deputies' attempt to redefine the concept of parliamentarism through the rhetorical reconstruction of its internal morphology. This attempt was manifested in SNS deputies' contestation of the established conventions of articulating the concept of parliamentarism with the concepts of parliamentary sovereignty, which implied the superiority of parliament in the institutional system of the polity, and ministerial responsibility, understood as the effective scrutiny of the executive by the institution of parliament as a whole. Raising the level of knowledge is essential for startups pursuing growth and aiming at keeping their innovation potential high. Since innovation activity has been the driving force of economies worldwide, governments tend to focus on providing knowledge through various support programs in order to accelerate innovations. The aim of the study presented in this paper was to find out what types of knowledge and what factors contribute positively to this process. For this purpose, methodology used was based on interviews and questionnaire. 82 participants were selected for the study. Four hypotheses were tested and proven. One, related to the needed team knowledge, and three, related to digitalisation level, intellectual property rights protection, and gender influencing time-toprofit. The results of the study obtained are presented and discussed in the paper and these findings may be used as a guidance for further support to the Serbian innovation ecosystem. The combination of accelerated digitalization and the recent COVID-19 crisis has increased the number of remote workers worldwide to unimaginable proportions. Among the large number of remote workers that execute their projects from home, there is a significant number of permanently self-employed remote workers, usually referred to as freelancers. Despite the importance of this kind of business activity for modern project management society, perceived drivers of freelancing are still unknown. The goal of this paper was to shed some light on the general subjective well-being of freelancing activity and investigate differences concerning gender, age, and education. The study was performed in late 2020 and included 471 freelancers from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, and Montenegro that participated in an online questionnaire evaluating their subjective well-being while participating in the “gig” economy. Factor analysis was used as a primary statistical method and two major groups were identified: (1) Impact of working from home on a freelancer’s personal life and health and (2) Fulfillment of expectations in the economic and professional sense. Gender was found not to be significant for overall work satisfaction. However, older freelancers proved to be more satisfied with the fulfillment of economic and professional expectations, which correlate with years of professional experience. Another conclusion is that more educated freelancers are generally less satisfied with both groups of drivers-fulfillment of personal life and professional expectations. Understanding how the combination of occupations, technological infrastructure, and demographic characteristics in the region has affected the well-being of freelancers may help policymakers and organization owners, as well as future entrepreneurs, better prepare for this model of work in the future. It also increases the possibility of exploring individual dimensions of wellbeing useful for targeting interventions at the level of each country separately. In line with this, the present study contributes to the existing body of knowledge and the impact of hybrid models of work on the subjective well-being of workers in the “gig” economy. This paper proposes an AHP approach that utilizes the fuzzy extent model to prioritize five city parks based on their present quality and projected importance for Novi Sad City, the capital of Vojvodina Province, in Serbia. The study involved an expert evaluation of a set of eight criteria to identify the most relevant subset of criteria for a detailed park assessment. The park evaluation took into account uncertainties (fuzziness), the expert's risk tolerance, and different levels of optimism and pessimism. The obtained results could serve when defining upcoming city plans and management agendas related to green areas in the city. The proposed fuzzy-based methodology can be extended to group decision-making scenarios by involving more experts and stakeholder representatives. The park weights obtained through the fuzzy AHP methodology described in this paper can aid city planners and politicians in the strategic allocation of financial, organizational, and human resources for parks. This paper examines the connection between secondary vocational education and continuing education. The influence of professional subjects and their impact on students and the creation of attitudes about further education, as well as the implementation of various, combined training models, are studied in particular. For the purposes of this research, a total of 201 students from three secondary vocational schools in the fields of trade, catering, tourism, economics, law, and administration were surveyed using a random sampling method. The educational profiles of the tested students are economic technician, tourist technician, cook, and waiter. The research objective was to determine whether the quality of professional subjects is important when choosing further tourism studies. In addition to the fact that teaching professional subjects develops certain students' competencies, the application of the quantitative methodology in the research showed that it also affects the choice of future educational profiles with high school students. Editing bibliographic data is an important part of library information systems. In this paper we discuss existing approaches in developing user interfaces for editing MARC records. There are two basic approaches: screen forms that support entering bibliographic data without knowledge of the MARC structure, and direct editing of MARC records shown on the screen. This paper presents the Eclipse editor, which fully supports editing of MARC records. It is written in Java as an Eclipse plug-in, so it is platform-independent. It can be extended for use with any data store. The paper also presents a Rich Client Platform (RCP) application made of a MARC editor plug-in, which can be used outside of Eclipse. The paper starts from a definition of terrorism which is widely accepted and frequently used in scientific publications in Serbia, due to its compatibility and accuracy. The paper also explores the reasons for adopting such a definition of counterterrorism (CT), which encompasses a wide spectrum of countermeasures, normative frameworks and institutional architectures. In order to fundament the scientific discourse, the concept of risk was examined, as well as indications about an essential element of risk, i.e. the negative consequences for the entity. In the definition of risk, as one of its key elements, the vulnerability of entities is emphasized, which includes their resistance or, to put it differently, their ability to carry out adequate responses. This aspect is highlighted as it confirms the goal of the model of analysing the concept of counterterrorism, but also the deepest basis for the construction of the CT concept. Additionally, some components of the new intelligence paradigms are also highlighted, which may be of relevance for the research of the CT concepts. The paper concludes that the adaptability of the normative and institutional framework is the main objectives of the CT constructions. Adaptability also pertains to action plans and measures to the current threats and must include timely determination of the directions and instruments for action, as well as the establishment of solutions that involve the anticipation of future risks. It has been previously highlighted that the goal of CT is to achieve the coordination of the strategic, tactical, and operational level of activity and provide an innovative, creative and proactive perspective. In Serbia, beekeeping is one of the few agricultural branches with a positive export balance. Honey in Serbia is harvested from environmentally safe areas and certain types of honey are globally recognized and have a geographically protected origin, accordingly better quote on the global honey market and at are a more competitive price. Goal of this paper to analyze the state of beekeeping production in Serbia, to consider the legal frameworks and regulations in this field, investments and incentive measures implemented at the state level in order to improve this production. This paper will present the results of the analysis of parameters related to beekeeping production in the last ten years according to official statistics at the national level. Based on the analysis of the situation, it can be concluded that beekeeping has the potential to become a strategic economic sector. Interest in beekeeping in Serbia is in expansion and an increasing number of farms are officially registering this activity, following the regulations and world trends in this area, placing bee products on the market and earning significant revenues. Research Question: This paper investigates into how machine learning can be applied for the purpose of detecting anomalies in the data describing transport component within the cellular network. Motivation: In the field of telecommunications, terabytes of data are generated each hour. This makes the manual analysis almost impossible to perform. There are thousands of components whose behaviour needs to be monitored, since anomalous behaviour could indicate a possible failure that can lead to network degradation, huge maintenance costs, and finally - a bad user experience. Our goal is to try to catch anomalous behaviour automatically, and thus help domain experts when performing drill down analysis of the degraded base stations and their key performance indicators (KPIs). Idea: The main idea of this paper is to empirically evaluate the application of machine learning for the problem of anomaly detection, in the field of telecommunications, specifically to long term evolution (LTE) networks. Data: Data used in the analysis contains information about base transceiver stations (BTS) behaviour through the time. The data are gathered from a cellular network provider located in Serbia. The data are collected on an hourly basis, for a period of two weeks, resulting in almost 700 thousand rows. The behaviour is assessed by 96 transport KPIs coming from BTS, describing the package losses, delays, transmission success rates, etc. Tools: Two main algorithms, ensemble-based Isolation Forest and autoencoder neural network, are elaborated and applied in order to identify patterns of anomalous behaviour. Findings: The results show that machine learning can be successfully applied in the field of LTE networks for the problem of anomaly detection. Machine learning can significantly reduce the time needed for the domain experts to identify anomalies within the network. In addition to time efficiency, one of the algorithms tested is able to identify anomalous KPIs separately, which is crucial when performing root cause analysis, by using drill-down approach, in order to identify which component is degraded. Contribution: This paper enriches existing research related to anomaly detection in LTE networks and provides an innovative approach to automated root-cause analysis of network degradation. Research question: The purpose of this paper is to analyze the factors that influence consumers' intentions when buying foreign brands, and then the purchase itself. Motivation: The business environment is experiencing an extensive change and it has become very demanding for companies to retain customers as well as market share. Companies must learn to adapt to changes in order to survive in the market, and therefore need to be aware of the needs of their customers and their purchasing decisions. The rise in consumer awareness has led consumers to opt for well-known and high-quality foreign brands. Hence, if companies hope to outperform their competitors, they need to persuade consumers to purchase their products and brands. Idea: The main objective of the research is to be based on previous research in this field to find out whether perceived quality, prestige, perceived value and environmental impact affect the intention of domestic consumers to buy foreign brands, and consequently the purchase of these foreign brands. Data: The survey was conducted on the territory of the Republic of Serbia by means of a questionnaire and included 158 respondents. Data were collected from the respondents electronically during a period of about one month. Tools: Statistical analyses of all collected data (utilizing linear correlation, multiple regression analysis, t-test of sample independence and ANOVA) were used to draw conclusions about the relationships between the observed variables and to determine differences in the mean values between individual categories of respondents in terms of buying foreign brands. Findings: Multiple regression analysis confirmed the statistically significant influence of perceived quality and perceived value on the intention of consumers in Serbia to buy foreign brands. Other factors do not have a statistically significant effect on consumer intention. Also, a simple regression analysis revealed a statistically significant influence of consumer intention on the act of purchase. At the very end of the paper, it was determined that statistically significant differences regarding the purchase of foreign brands existed when respondents were observed by gender and education levels, while age did not have a statistical significance. Contribution: This research has a scientific and practical contribution in terms of collecting information about the factors that influence the consumers' intension to buy foreign brands. In this paper, we complete pioneering research that indicates the very low frequency (VLF) signal amplitude and phase noise reductions, and short-period wave excitations and attenuations as new potential earthquake precursors. We consider changes in the VLF signal broadcast in Italy by the ICV transmitter and recorded in Serbia that start a few tens of minutes before earthquakes. The sampling interval of the analyzed data is 0.1 s. The main objectives of this study are (1) to complete this research in the time and frequency domains during the periods of the four earthquakes analyzed in the previous studies, and (2) to define the parameters of the VLF signal amplitude and phase in both domains that should be further examined in statistical analyses of the aforementioned potential earthquake precursors. In the first part of this study, we analyze the ICV signal amplitude in the frequency domain during the period around three earthquakes that occurred in November 2010 near the considered signal propagation path. Here, we apply the Fourier transform to the relevant recorded data. In the second part, we compare characteristics of the signal amplitude and phase noise reductions in the time domain, and wave excitations and attenuations in the frequency domain. The results of these comparisons indicate the parameters that should be analyzed in subsequent studies to confirm the connection of the considered VLF signal changes with seismic activity before earthquakes, and potentially establish procedures for their detection are: (a) the start and end times of the noise reductions in the time domain and the excited/attenuated waves in the frequency domain, (b) the differences in the corresponding times, and (c) the wave periods of wave excitations of both the signal amplitude and phase.
