This paper analyzes 5046 research publications in physical science that Haryana had published during the last ten years (2005-14). The publications data was sourced from Scopus International database. The findings reveal that Haryana registered 14.28% growth per year and citation impact of 6.0 citations per paper. Haryana's research output in physical science accounted for 19.42% state share and 1.72% country share in S&T during 2005-14. Nearly 13.5% of Haryana's output appeared as International collaborative papers. Chemistry and physics & astronomy accounted for the largest share (37.38% and 33% respectively). The top 20 most productive organizations of Haryana accounted for 83.25% and 86.12% publication and citation share, registered average productivity of 210.5 papers per organization, averaged 6.20 citations per paper, h-index of 13.85, and averaged 10.95% share as international collaborative papers of during 2005-14. The top 20 most productive authors from Haryana-based organizations accounted for 22.39% publications share, 31.75% citations share, registered average productivity of 56.5 papers per author, averaged 8.50 citations per paper, h-index of 11.85%, and 8.67% share as international collaborative papers during 2005-14. Nearly 18% of Haryana's papers in physical science were reported in top 20 journals during 2005-14. Haryana contributed 18 highly cited papers with 100 + citations per paper. Together these 18 papers cumulated 3129 citations, with an average of 173.83 citations per paper during 2005-14. This paper analyzes 5677 research publications that Haryana had contributed in the area of engineering science during the last ten years (2005-14). The publications data was sourced from Scopus International database. The findings reveal that Haryana achieved significantly faster growth rate in engineering science (22.59% CAGR) but witnessed low level citation impact of 4.40 citations per paper, contributed merely 20 highly cited papers, and accounted for very low share (9.79%) of international collaborative papers in its total output during 2005-14. Engineering field with 52.37% share dominated Haryana's publications output in engineering science whereas the other sub-fields (materials science, computer science, chemical engineering and energy) were distant cousins in engineering science. The top 20 most productive organizations output in Haryana had average productivity of 205.1, averaged 4.91 citations per paper, averaged h-index of 12.5, and averaged 8.68% share of international collaborative publications. The top 20 most productive authors with affiliations to Haryana had average productivity of 49.9, averaged 6.68 citations per paper, averaged h-index of 6.61, and averaged 6.51% share of international collaborative publications during 2005-14. The research papers contributed by Haryana are scattered thinly across journals given the fact that top 25 journals had accounted for as low share of 16.29%.of total output (5677) by the state. This study depicts a Scientometric technique of Bifurcation Research output in India for around five years during 2016-2020. It is an active field of analysis in which the bulk of investigation is being done. Scopus is an advanced research platform, assisting in finding, probing and yielding information in the sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities. The contemporary study discusses the "Bifurcation" as reflected in SCOPUS for 2016-2020. This study examines the highly prolific authors, document type etc. The study exhibited that 2017 shown maximum research papers 1700 (20.44%), the lowermost maturity rate was deciphered in 2018 (19.65%), the standard value of the period of collaboration is 0.18. "Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan", the Self-Reliant India campaign of2020, was a clarion call by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the vision of a new India, kick-starting several independent initiatives across the five pillars, viz., Economy, Infrastructure, Systems, Demography and Demand1. The paper discusses one such technology-driven initiative called CollabFiles, envisaged and developed for use by government enterprises across the country. CollabFiles helps officials and staff of Government of India (GoI) to create and collaborate on documents and spreadsheets using web and mobile devices. Several innovative steps were taken to design this platform such as using principles of Enterprise Architecture (EA) to arrive at solution architecture, Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication ensuring secured access, interoperability with other government applications, secured storage at government cloud, a robust archival policy and a firm Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity (DR/BC) plan. It shares details of the pioneering approach to develop a sustainable platform, meeting the needs of government officials on a day-to-day basis. The paper gives the current status of implementation, defines critical success factors for effective roll-out, and also discusses how certain challenges were addressed. Purpose: The aim of the paper is to explore the challenges and opportunities that the Indian Tourism and Hospitality faces to rebuild itself. The questions discussed include: what is to be done, the role of the Government at the Federal and Provincial level and how should the stakeholders of the tourism ecosystem play out? Design/methodology/approach: The 2020 expectation for Indian Tourism was for a bumper year, a year that would be remembered, but then the pandemic proved to be devastating. This article is based on secondary literature and discussions with industry representatives, which provide guidance and pointers for future preparedness. Findings: The industry went from a difficult situation during the lockdowns, to a scenario of hope and opportunity initiated by domestic travellers, who provided a ray of hope for tourism stakeholders. Social implications: In the wake of the pandemic, businesses suffered from a lack of business; people lost jobs, travel came to a standstill and so it was mitigation that was important. The way the tourism ecosystem sought to return to normal and build on it for future has a number of implications for relevant changes to society. Originality/value: Resilience, restructuring and renewal have characterised the tourism business in India and this paper investigates new dimensions for innovatively managing the situation. This paper explores the barriers which hamper the utilization and the routinization of product lifecycle management (PLM) practices in manufacturing organizations. The paper aims to confirm the barriers and their rank in order to improve the PLM institutionalization status in firms. Core barriers have been explored in an automotive firm by applying multicriteria decision-making techniques. Further, the significance of these barriers were corroborated with the executives in the broader PLM domain through a t-test. This study confirmes the “lack of advanced IT infrastructure,” “lack of integration and interoperability,” and “training on the PLM systems” as the top three barriers to PLM utilization and routinization in manufacturing firms in India. Zoonotic infectious diseases like Zika, Ebola, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and the very recent Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) can leap from one species to another and within the same species by constantly mutating to defy therapeutics and vaccines. The SARS-CoV-2 is emerging to be closely related to bat coronaviruses, highlighting the need of One Health approach to combat new disease threats that affects both animals and human beings. One Health is a collaborative, multi-sectoral and trans-disciplinary approach - working at the local, regional, national, and global levels, with the goal of achieving optimal health outcomes recognizing the interconnection between people, animals, plants and their shared environment. Therefore, One Health can be considered as a global approach to maintain health of human beings, animals and ecosystem. The present study plots the One Health publications available in Web of Science (WoS) database from 1997 to 2021. WoS provides access to databases that supplies reference and citation data from research publications. Globally, a total of 4397 publications were published. In Indian context, about 230 scientific literatures were published and only 94 publications were found relevant to policy makers. Relevance to policy-makers was judged by the presence of policy implications in the research publication. Further, data were analysed using bibliometrix R-package to evaluate research publications of authors, the annual growth of research publications and citation analysis to understand the status of One Health research in India. The annual growth rate of publications in India was 47.48 per cent with collaboration index 6.58, which is greater than global collaboration index. Three-fields plot exhibited that in Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Science University (GADVASU), Ludhiana, dedicated research on One Health is being carried out with 13 publications on One Health. The collaboration network analysis found that Indian authors are highly collaborative with researchers from Australia, USA and Germany. In addition to these formal collaborations, there is opportunity to strengthen informal collaboration through digital platforms like Google Scholar, ResearchGate, LinkedIn, Facebook, Google+, Twitter etc. With judicious use, they could be used to sprout fruitful collaborations. This paper reports on an ongoing research study funded by UKRI to map India's creative industries. Using an ecosystem framework, it has focused on strategy/policy; tangible and intangible infrastructure; funding and investment to understand innovation drivers and barriers across nine sub-sector value chains. The research established there is no one creative industries policy. Responsibility is split across 16 government ministries and 28 states. Much of India's economy is informal, with limited data on policy effects. Nevertheless, four important policies are shaping the creative industries landscape, supplemented by investment from global brands into textiles, media and advertising. These are driving innovation and design for social and ecological sustainability. At the time of writing the study is undertaking deep dives into CreaTec, Design for sustainability in fashion and textiles, and emerging geographic concentrations. Purpose: Patents as one of the important components of intellectual capital are emerging as a new source for mining insights on open innovation (OI) practice of the organizations. Their role in value creation through collaboration and the inter-firm differences is yet to be explored in depth. Design/methodology/approach: To achieve the aim, survey data is analyzed to rank OI practices (collaboration) of the firms, while patent data are analyzed to carry out descriptive and bivariate analysis to study the inter-firm differences in collaboration. Findings: The survey findings highlight mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and patent pooling as the top two preferred modes of OI, while from patent data M&A has emerged as a predominant OI practice for mainly nonresident firms. At the firm level characteristics, out of firm age, number of granted patents and firm size, firm age has been found to be somewhat significant in few cases of OI practices. Research limitations/implications: It provides an alternative source, in this case patent data to study open innovation capabilities of firms in India. There is contribution to the patent value theory from profit motive to deriving strategic decisions on collaboration. Practical implications: The managerial implications of this study lie in realizing granted patents as important business tools for seeking collaboration, tracing competitive intelligence and the geography of innovation of the firms' competitors. Originality/value: The dataset of granted patents at the Indian Patent office (2005–2017), the sample of pharmaceutical firms drawn from this list of patents, patent data– based OI insights and the use of multiple imputation technique to missing data for meaningful insights are some of the unique aspects of this paper. The current status of taxonomic studies of Indian Convolvulaceae is reviewed. The family is well-represented in the Indian subcontinent and has been the subject of study for several hundred years. A list of genera and a provisional checklist of species recorded from India are provided. It is argued that currently there is a need to combine molecular studies with traditional morphological research and to develop research between institutions both nationally and internationally. The paper brings out the results of a bibliometric study of research output of eight universities of Punjab namely Panjab University (PU), Punjabi University (PBU), Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Punjab Agriculture University (PAU), Thapar University, IKG Punjab Technical University, Central University Bhatinda, and Lovely professional university in sciences. The analysis has been made for the two periods of time i.e. 1991-2002 and 2003-2014 for each university. The research activity of each university has been determined in terms of total publications, year wise distribution of papers, citations, authorship pattern, impact factor, h-index, collaborations within institute and foreign etc. The progress of each university has been compared between the periods of two decades and accordingly the ranking to the universities has been given both in terms of publication number and also in terms of total citations. In terms of h-index of each university, PU, GNDU and PAU were first second and third for the period 1991-2002 but for the period 2003-2014, PBU ranks third after PU and GNDU. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Liver transplant surgery has been performed in India for the last 25 years. We aimed to analyse the trends, characteristics, and key elements in the field of liver transplantation research from India. On April 23, 2023, we conducted a search of the Scopus database for the literature on liver transplantation research, using a well-defined search strategy. MS Excel and VOS viewer software programs were used to examine the articles for organisation, author, journal, keywords, and high-cited literature. This analysis examined a total of 556 papers, which constituted only a 1.55% share of the global output. These papers involved 442 organizations, 1575 authors, and 147 journals. External funding was received in 4.13% and 23.56% were involved in international collaboration. Three Delhi-NCR organizations, namely the Medanta–The Medicity (n = 63), Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences (n = 60), and Indraprastha Apollo Hospital (n = 48) led in publication productivity. M. Rela (n = 90) and A.S. Soin (n = 63) were the leading authors in publication productivity, while S. Sudhindran and P. Bhangui were the most impactful authors. Liver Transplantation (n = 96) and Journal of Clinical & Experimental Hepatology (n = 65) published the maximum number of these papers, whereas, Annals of Surgery and Journal of Hepatology led in the citation impact per paper. The most significant keywords were "Liver Transplantation" (n = 484), and "Living Donor" (n = 254). Only 1.80% (n = 10) of the papers were highly cited papers that received 50 to 142 citations and they together registered 69.9 citations per paper. Although the number of publications on liver transplantation from India started growing recently, it forms only 1.55% of the global report. There is an unmet need to increase government-supported research and multicenter collaborative studies at national and international levels for high-quality patient care. This paper is an attempt to analyse 16070 research publications indexed in the field of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in the Web of Science Core Collection by researchers from India in collaboration with other during 1973 to 2022. During the epoch, India produced 71125publications in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology out of which 16070(22.60%) are in international collaboration. There were only 15 publications in 1973 which increased to 2002 in the year 2022.Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is the most contributing organization in producing the research publication in collaboration with international scholars. International Journal of Biological Macromolecules is the most preferred journal for publication. In the conventional system of education, a student can regularly interact with teachers and peers and effectively and smoothly carry on with the learning process. However, in the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) system, students have to learn by themselves with the selfinstructional materials and with the minimum guidance received from counselors, making the system more demanding. In other words, although opportunities are created in an ODL system for student interaction with faculty and peers, these are less frequent as compared to the conventional system, making effective learning challenging. Besides the facts placed above, this paper is also based on the premise that the admission process in conventional institutions/universities are highly selective where decisions at the entry level is influenced by the academic performance of the students and/or scores at assessment/screening examinations; therefore, the students so selected are relatively academically stronger students capable of better academic performance. Due to its inherent constraints of providing space and infrastructural facilities, conventional higher education is more selective and consequently more merit and excellence based in its approach. At the other end of the spectrum are the institutions of open learning which are primarily addressing the issues of access and equity in education and therefore have more open and flexible admissions. While following basic eligibility criteria and/or standardized test scores, it is seen that students would not have to be outstanding or even necessarily academically strong students to be admitted to the various programmes of study. As a result, a major chunk of the students who enter the ODL system are those who are filtered and are unable to get admission into the traditional and conventional system of education. It becomes very difficult for these students to manage with the demanding ODL system contributing to low pass out rates. On this premise, the paper tries to discuss the possible mechanism/s for student screening for all programmes run in the ODL mode too so that justice is ensured to students. The authors also try to reason that use of ODL would be successful only for those learners who have a certain level of intelligence, competence and capability and are self-motivated to put in more effort. Further, the authors attempt to highlight that democratization of education is actually being misinterpreted and is targeting mass enrolment. This paper presents a category theoretic ontology of Carnatic music. Our goals here are twofold. First, we will demonstrate the power and flexibility of conceptual modeling techniques based on a branch of mathematics called category theory (CT), using the structure of Carnatic music as an example. Second, we describe a platform for collaboration and research sharing in this area. The construction of this platform uses formal methods of CT (colimits) to merge our Carnatic ontology with a generic model of music information retrieval tasks. The latter model allows us to integrate multiple analytical methods, such as hidden Markov models, machine learning algorithms, and other data mining techniques like clustering, bagging, etc., in the analysis of a variety of different musical features. Furthermore, the framework facilitates the storage of musical performances based on the proposed ontology, making them available for additional analysis and integration. The proposed framework is extensible, allowing future work in the area of rāga recognition to build on our results, thereby facilitating collaborative research. Generally speaking, the methods presented here are intended as an exemplar for designing collaborative frameworks supporting reproducibility of computational analysis and simulation. The main agenda of this paper is to provide a review of literature on the role of Web 2.0 or social software tools particularly wikis in school education because it is an under-researched area. Though it is a versatile tool to leverage the information in multimodal environment, including video, sound, animation, as well as, static text and image it has not been actively used in the context of school education especially in the Indian context. Today's educators are hesitant in using the web 2.0 technology because they feel overwhelmed by the range of choices it offers. The paper tries to evolve framework that can be employed to use wikis. It examines the issues that have surfaced from the review especially those that affect pedagogy due to adoption of web 2.0 technologies. The advantages of wikis to students, educators and institutions as well as the challenges that accompany such initiative and the host of problems that need to be addressed in using wikis in school education is enumerated. This paper incorporates the analysis out of the review and highlights the different pedagogical roles of web2.0 technologies with reference to communication, innovation, and collaborative learning and challenging the imagination of children. The analysis answers the concerns of academicians about the inclusion of web 2.0 technologies and the findings can influence learning and teaching strategies in various echelons of education. In spite of the organizational facilities streamlined to increase the conduct of training programmes for up gradation of the knowledge, certification of the educational qualification of army men necessitated the collaboration between the armed forces and a Distance Teaching Institution (DTI). In addition, equipping an individual educationally, to face reality of employment procedures in the civilian life, is one of the preventive/proactive measures of rehabilitation. The collaboration that facilitates the education of the armed forces is the Army-IGNOU Educational Project (Gyan Deep Scheme) which is in vogue from the year 2001. This paper discusses about the issues related to this project and how the opportunity for continuing education enables the armed forces for a civilian life after their term of employment in the armed forces. This paper demonstrates importance of the armed men as a new audience of the Distance Learning System and how the implementers are equally new for executing the various activities prescribed by the Distance Teaching Institution (DTI) especially while maintaining the work-life-learning balance. Most governments around the world started their e-Government initiatives with a focus on providing information and services to the citizen while service delivery platforms remained separate and parallel across various government agencies (UN, 2008). Many researchers have noted that past evaluation studies have not used a common framework or methodology by the public sector in developing countries. To achieve this, the government needs to ensure the use of a common platform across different initiatives, as this may help integrate different functionalities (Horizontal and Vertical) to avoid duplicities. Hence there is an urgent need to develop a frame work for a Unified Digital Government (UGD) which will be a single view of the Government, Employees, Citizens and Business. The objective of this paper is to study the current scenario and need for common and core applications for e-Government and proposed a framework for a UGD. It will be an integrated solution architecture covering all functional areas and activities of the government. This is a hybrid frame work to bring all services under a single roof. The First approach is Centralized: In this approach all common (unified) applications such as, Document management, Knowledge management File, management, Human Resource Management (G2E), Grievance management etc will be a single entity by all departments so that can eliminate to collect the same information by different departments in different ways and identify them differently. The Second approach is Decentralized: In this approach Core (Departmental specific) applications such as Land Registration, Building Plans, Vehicle registration, Criminal and Crime information etc, this approach is not only gave the government department's autonomy but also accelerated the enabling of services by the respective departments. In 2010, the Indian government declared 2010–2020 to be the 'Decade of Innovation' and established the State Innovation Councils and Sectoral Innovation Councils to encourage and facilitate innovation by technological firms. In this paper, we study the relationship between collaboration and innovation in a cross‐section of Indian firms, paying particular attention to the impact of the innovation councils. Our results suggest that domestic collaborations have an important impact on firm innovation, as do the innovation councils, but that the impact of the councils is less for firms that collaborate. This paper analyses 6451 research publications in the field of Biotechnology by Indian researchers in collaboration with other countries indexed in the web of Science core collections from 1975 to 2021. These 6451 publications received 228989 citations with 181 h-index. During the period the total number of publications from India are 33236 out of which 6451(19.40%) are in international collaboration. There were only 2 publications in 1973 which rose to 825 in the year 2021. Ashok Pandey from CSIR-IITR is the most productive author while CSIR is the leading organization in collaborating with international partners. Microalgae is the most frequent keyword, Journal Bioresource technology is the most preferred journal for publication. Food delivery platforms are designed to match on-demand workers with jobs and then manage, monitor, and assess their performance. These platforms provide workers with a digital representation of delivery work. Once a worker accepts a delivery job they need to deal with the complexities of an unsettled urban landscape with varied infrastructures, traffic, and regulations. In particular, the Global South presents a demanding context for this type of work, given less clearly mapped addresses alongside other socio-cultural intricacies. In order to understand how food delivery workers bridge gaps and mismatches between the demands of the app and the realities encountered in situ, for this paper we shadowed six delivery workers over the course of their working day delivering food in Pune, India. The six workers included a complete novice and more experienced riders. We used helmet mounted cameras to record the delivery work, and how our participants managed the extra demands of food delivery work during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our moment-by-moment analysis of the video data is informed by the methodological traditions of ethnomethodology and conversation analysis. While the food delivery platform imposes a detailed workflow expected to be performed alone by the worker, our detailed video analysis reveals the collaborative nature of delivery work. We highlight how workers draw upon their ability to participate in ‘fleeting alliances’ and produce ‘frugal collaboration’ with co-located others, such as other delivery workers or security guards. This allows them to resolve everyday troubles, often learning or imparting ‘the tricks of the trade’ in the process. While gig platforms have commonly been presented as disruptive technologies for coordinating, regulating, and assessing gig workers individually and independently, our findings highlight collaboration as a critically important aspect of food delivery work. The increased complexity in the current business environment connected with the globalisation of economies and rapid technological developments makes firms depend on innovation and, in the process, develop dense networks of relationships, making collaboration an essential requisite for innovation. Thus, collaboration develops based on complex social networks from which innovation emerges. From this perspective, collaboration takes a systematic approach, where social relationships are crucial. This article describes the innovation behaviour of firms operating in India and introduces collaboration as a system drawing from the systems theory and triple helix innovation model. The results of the mixed methods study conducted pointed toward a fragile collaboration framework. Triangulation was employed to provide a deeper understanding. Furthermore, limited understanding of collaboration as a social system has constrained social interactions, leading to limited knowledge production, application, and knowledge sharing, with technological development and innovation delays. Human resources are vital to all for the sustainable development of any organization. HRD is influenced by environmental factors. International cooperation and collaborations played an important role in the economic and educational development of several countries. In the 1950s and 1960s external aid was an important modality to establish cooperation between countries, especially between developing and developed countries. Cross-border activities in higher education used to take place mostly through cooperation projects and academic exchange programmes. The political returns to aid declined during the post-cold war period. Therefore, incentives to extend aid declined and markets and trade became more accepted modes of cooperation and collaboration in all sectors including education. International collaborations of today are very often motivated by economic incentives and are mediated through markets. The franchising and twinning arrangements, establishment of branch campuses, and promotion of cross-border student mobility are examples of market-based collaborative efforts in higher education. This paper discusses Indian cooperation and collaborations with foreign institutions focusing also on such efforts among the BRICS countries. It argues that the collaboration efforts among the BRICS countries may be more influenced by government-to-government efforts than mediated by markets. The paper shows that the BRICS countries at present are more engaged in cooperation and collaborations in higher education with developed countries. Collaborations among the BRICS countries are rather limited and are still at the nascent stages. The oral health delivery strategies are taking back seat in the universal health coverage scheme in India. This paper highlights the personal experience of a dental professional from India as an educator, motivator, and collaborator to nullify or minimize social policy challenges faced by medical health providers in the administrative cadre to strengthen the oral care delivery model in the health services department in Kerala state. Children living in border conflict areas of Jammu and Kashmir have been experiencing a continuous threat to life, insecurity, and witnessing violence due to border disputes between India and Pakistan. In this study, the authors utilised the social group work method to understand the issues and challenges faced by the children. Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to frame collaboration in supply chain as a hierarchical reflective construct. Design/methodology/approach – This study uses data from industries in India to test the hierarchical and structural model. Partial least squares method is used to test the model. Findings – Results show that collaboration is a third-order, reflective construct. The paper's findings also arrange collaborative activities in terms of its importance for collaboration. Practical implications – Collaboration is a multi-facet activity and is a meta-concept, and therefore this paper improves our understanding on the subject. The performance of supply chain collaboration depends on the execution of various activities, and this paper points out how the various activities are related to the collaboration, the execution of which will drive collaborative ventures towards success. Drawing upon empirical data from a multiple case study of ‘private school outreach’ initiatives in India, this paper compares linkages with government schools initiated by two of the cases with the intent of rendering them more conducive to the education of children not in school. This inter‐school working was rooted in cultures of resource sharing maintained by the two cases of private school outreach which was evident in the relations between their private schools and ‘outreach programmes’. Further, differences in resource sharing cultures had implications for how the two cases sought to influence change through their relations with government schools, and who they recruited as agents of change. Despite these differences, the managements of both cases found that long‐term responsive relationships based on respect were critical to build capacity within the government schools and enable them to become resource centres and loci of change in their own right. Despite the knowledge that people with mental illness often seek care from multiple healing systems, there is limited collaboration between these systems. Greater collaboration with existing community resources could narrow the treatment gap and reduce fragmentation by encouraging more integrated care. This paper explores the origins, use, and outcomes of a collaborative programme between faith-based and allopathic mental health practitioners in India. We conducted 16 interviews with key stakeholders and examined demographic and clinical characteristics of the user population. Consistent with previous research, we found that collaboration is challenging and requires trust, rapport-building, and open dialogue. The collaboration reached a sizeable population, was reviewed favourably by key stakeholders—particularly on health improvement and livelihood restoration—and perhaps most importantly, views the client holistically, allowing for both belief systems to play a shared role in care and recovery. Results support the idea that, despite differing practices, collaboration between faith-based and allopathic mental health practitioners can be achieved and can benefit clients with otherwise limited access to mental health care. Background: Community organisations and community members are increasingly being involved in health research projects worldwide as part of the engagement movement. Achieving deeper forms of community engagement like partnership demands that decision-making power be shared with community partners. However, how can community partners assess if meaningful engagement and shared decision-making will be possible when approached by prospective research partners? In this paper, we explore how community organisations decide to join health research projects when approached by health researchers.Methods: Case study research was undertaken on a health systems research project in Karnataka, India called Participation for Local Action, which was carried out by local researchers in partnership with the Zilla Budakattu Girijana Abhivrudhhi Sangha, a community development organisation. In-depth interviews were conducted with the researchers, Sangha leaders and field investigators from their community.Results: Thematic analysis identified two main themes - 'context' and 'deciding to engage'. The Sangha's experience offers lessons to other community organisations that can help them when deciding to engage with researchers in terms of what features to look for in research partners and in proposed research projects, what requests to make of prospective research partners, and what sorts of outcomes or partnership agreements to accept. These lessons may be especially applicable in contexts where relationships of trust already exist between partners and where they have the skills to lead data collection and analysis.Conclusions: We hope that this guidance will help empower community organisations to select good research partners and promote more equitable partnerships between community partners and academic researchers. Organic chemistry as a research area contributes to more than one percent of world publication output. The present paper attempts to draw a detailed, in-depth bibliometric analysis of organic chemistry research activity during the last decade (2004 to 2013) with special emphasis on the Indian contribution. The Indian output is compared with that of world's leading countries using exergy, an indicator which combines quantity and quality of publications. A three-dimensional approach combining quantity, quality and consistency is used for analysing the performance of various institutions and authors. It is found that organic chemistry research activity in India during 2004-2013 is equal to the world average and its growth pattern is positive and similar to the worldwide research growth. India ranks at the 9th position based on the Exergy(X), the performance indicator while USA, Germany and China occupy first, second and third positions.Among others, the most productive organisations and authors are also identified using h-index and z-index. Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to develop and measure supply chain collaboration index and to arrange collaborative activities in terms of its importance. Design/methodology/approach – This study uses data from industries in India to compute the collaboration index. Weight for each activity of collaboration was calculated by analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and this weight was used to compute the index combined with the formula proposed by Fornell et al.Findings – Supply chain collaboration index is computed as 40.44 on a scale of 1-100. The study also arranges collaborative activities in decreasing order of importance. Practical implications – By using model of this study, a firm can benchmark its collaborative practice. They can also identify extent of practice of internal and external focus areas. Further, firms can identify which activities should require more attention and improvement. Originality/value – The study proposed a supply chain collaboration index model and calculated the index using the proposed model and data collected from India. Abstract: India in Asia and Brazil in Latin America are regarded as the most promising global economies. This paper examines the openings and possibilities for space technology collaboration between India and Latin American states under the larger rubric of science and technology collaboration. While the distance and language barriers between the two regions have proved a hindrance in the past, the paper proceeds with an assumption that, in the 21st century, such barriers should not be a limitation on developing strategic, economic, and science and technology partnerships among nation-states. The paper argues that the Latin American states are keen to have their own satellites because of their significant utility in the socioeconomic sector and this offers an opportunity to India to use cooperation in space technologies as a powerful tool for engagement in Latin America. This paper offers a retrospective appreciation of an organization design intervention of a Public Relations firm in India that was undertaken, keeping in mind productive collaboration within geographically spread out teams to support the organization's fast paced growth. It intends to highlight key insights from systems thinking that were used in designing and leading the intervention, and articulate the messages that surfaced during and at the end of the intervention. First, the Public Relations field is introduced in short, then the organization in focus is discussed, leading to a discussion of the need that arose for which the intervention was mandated, then the key concepts and implementation agenda are talked about, and it finally concludes with a retrospective appreciation of the nature of collaboration in the context, from a systems viewpoint. Information and communication technologies (ICTs) have become the panacea for development for many developing countries in the modern, knowledge-based world. Kerala, a state in India known for its model of development, has not only joined this bandwagon but has also selected ICTs as a means to pull the state out of its present crisis. The paper examines the institutions of knowledge production in Kerala (academic and scientific sectors), which are generally the forerunner of other sectors in terms of their use of ICTs. Multisectoral collaboration has been identified as a critical component in a wide variety of health and development initiatives. For India's Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme, which serves >100 million people annually across more than one million villages, a key point of multisectoral collaboration—or 'convergence', as it is often called in India—is between the three frontline worker cadres jointly responsible for delivering essential maternal and child health and nutritional services throughout the country: the Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA), Anganwadi worker (AWW) and auxiliary nurse midwife (ANM) or 'AAA' workers. Despite the long-recognized importance of collaboration within this triad, there has been relatively little documentation of what this looks like in practice and what is needed in order to improve it. Informed by a conceptual framework of collaborative governance, this study applies inductive thematic analysis of in-depth interviews with 18 AAA workers and 6 medical officers from 6 villages across three administrative blocks in Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh state to identify the key elements of collaboration. These are grouped into three broad categories: 'organizational' (including interdependence, role clarity, guidance/support and resource availability); 'relational' (interpersonal and conflict resolution) and 'personal' (flexibility, diligence and locus of control). These findings underscore the importance of 'personal' and 'relational' collaboration features, which are underemphasized in India's ICDS, the largest of its kind globally, and in the multisectoral collaboration literature more broadly—both of which place greater emphasis on 'organizational' aspects of collaboration. These findings are largely consistent with prior studies but are notably different in that they highlight the importance of flexibility, locus of control and conflict resolution in collaborative relationships, all of which relate to one's ability to adapt to unexpected obstacles and find mutually workable solutions with colleagues. From a policy perspective, supporting these key elements of collaboration may involve giving frontline workers more autonomy in how they get the work done, which may in some cases be impeded by additional training to reinforce worker role delineation, closer monitoring or other top-down efforts to push greater convergence. Given the essential role that frontline workers play in multisectoral initiatives in India and around the world, there is a clear need for policymakers and managers to understand the elements affecting collaboration between these workers when designing and implementing programmes. Early in 2021, India embarked on the uphill journey of the COVID-19 vaccination of the largest population group in the world in a prioritized manner and in the shortest possible time. Considering the endless variety of geography and diverse socio-economic demographic, religious, and community contexts, there was a high likelihood of certain population subgroups with known vulnerabilities facing inequities, which were anticipated to be further accentuated by a digital divide. This necessitated devising solutions for such communities in a localized manner to aid the local government in breaking the service access and uptake barriers with an inclusive approach. To bridge this vital gap, the Momentum Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity project implemented a three-tiered collaboration, viz., government, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and a wide range of vulnerable and at-risk communities, utilizing knowledge exchange and use of data. The project implemented localization strategies through the NGOs for community engagement in conjunction with government vaccination teams to universalize COVID-19 vaccination uptake up to the last mile. The collaboration resulted in reaching close to 50 million beneficiaries through messaging and facilitated the administration of more than 14 million vaccine doses, including 6.1 million doses for vulnerable and marginalized communities in 18 States and Union territories in India, along with suggesting implications for public health practice and research. Purpose: The stakeholders are now demanding more visibility and role clarity in the emergency supply chain to improve collaborative efforts. Using a contingent resource-based view (C-RBV), the author studies crisis leadership as a complementary organizational resource for the successful adoption of digital technologies (DTs) in the emergency supply chain. The author further examined the relationships between DTs on information visibility and collaboration under the moderating effects of crisis leadership. Design/methodology/approach: The author gathered data from 117 NGOs in India using a multi-informant questionnaire. The author further tested the research hypotheses using variance-based structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Findings: DTs under the interaction effect of crisis leadership have a significant influence on the information visibility and the collaboration in the humanitarian context. The findings of the study extend the C-RBVs to create a better understanding of applications of DTs in alleviating human suffering due to crises. Practical implications: The author provides some direction to the managers engaged in the humanitarian supply chain, contemplating using emerging technologies to enhance information visibility and collaboration. Originality/value: The current study offers some useful implications for theory. The study findings suggest that the DTs under the moderating effect of the crisis leadership significantly improve the information visibility and the collaboration among the emergency supply chain relief workers. These findings contribute to the C-RBV literature by expanding the scope of the theory. To date, the C-RBV is yet to be explored in humanitarian or emergency settings. Social development organizations increasingly employ artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled tools to help team members collaborate effectively and efficiently. These tools are used in various team management tasks and activities. Based on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT), this study explores various factors influencing employees' use of AI-enabled tools. The study extends the model in two ways: a) by evaluating the impact of these tools on the employees' collaboration and b) by exploring the moderating role of AI aversion. Data were collected through an online survey of employees working with AI-enabled tools. The analysis of the research model was conducted using partial least squares (PLS), with a two-step model – measurement and structural models of assessment. The results revealed that the antecedent variables, such as effort expectancy, performance expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions, are positively associated with using AI-enabled tools, which have a positive relationship with collaboration. It also concluded a significant effect of AI aversion in the relationship between performance expectancy and use of technology. These findings imply that organizations should focus on building an environment to adopt AI-enabled tools while also addressing employees' concerns about AI. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Indigenous communities in India, or Adivasis, have always been the object of anthropological research. However, knowledge production on Adivasi communities has created a civilizing discourse that has contributed to their marginalization. In following the need to reject anthropology's savage, primitive, and native slot, we present a case study of a research project on Indigenous knowledge of the Koya peoples, an Adivasi community in India. We argue that this project is an expression of the agency of the Adivasis and constitutes a form of generative refusal, where new insights and possibilities are generated. Next, we reflect on how fieldwork with Indigenous communities is not merely extractive but can create a collaborative and reciprocal endeavour. Nurturing care framework for early childhood development (ECD) focuses on five essential aspects of the holistic development of a child, which are interrelated and inseparable. This multidimensional approach to child development is dependent on contributions from multiple sectors, requiring the 'whole of government' approach. In India, the lack of a single multisectoral framework for ECD, narrow accountability to sector-specific outcomes, overlapping responsibilities of frontline workers, lack of leadership for coordination, and limited supervisory mechanisms result in fragmented service delivery. In recent years, there is high-level political commitment to intersectoral action, which promote holistic health. Better results and developmental outcomes are possible with different sectors working closely by converging their resources under the Sustainable Development Goals strategic action plans, POSHAN Abhiyaan, and the Aspirational districts program. Leveraging opportunities for intersectoral action requires a deliberate and consistent effort towards alignment of goals, favorable conditions of partnerships, leadership and governance, and capacity at every level. Objectives: Knowledge hiding is inappropriate behavior of employees at the workplace that makes the entire organization suffer a subtle yet significant loss. Lack of sharing makes the journey of learning an arduous process. This, in turn, gives rise to a series of uncivil behaviors, hence resulting in a decrease of functional interdependence (FI). The cascading result toll is a turnover intention (TI), resting only after turnover—an actual separation from the employer. Statistical analysis of the empirical data collected depicts the intensity of influence of FI and TI as a result of the knowledge-hiding behavior. Methods: Three hundred sixty-three executives employed in three public and two private manufacturing organizations in eastern India were the respondents in our study. To analyze the difference in variables of the study, a t -test was carried out. The statistical findings suggest no significant difference among study variables. This specifies that, despite a considerable difference in levels of management, there was no significant difference in perceiving workplace incivility, knowledge-hiding behavior, FI, and TI items of our instruments. Results: Correlation findings show a negative association between workplace incivility and functional interdependence (r = −0.37 when the value of p is <0.01) and a positive association among workplace incivility and turnover intention (r = 0.32 when the value of p is <0.01). The condensed effect of workplace incivility (β = −0.59 when the value of p is <0.001) along with an important presence of knowledge-hiding behavior (β = −0.68 when the value of p is <0.01) when the dependent variable is FI indicates that knowledge-hiding behavior is mediating a partial association among workplace incivility and FI. Similarly, the effect of workplace incivility (β = 0.43 when the value of p is <0.01) is decreased when the impact of knowledge-hiding behavior (β = 0.66 when the value of p is <0.001) was sizeable with TI being the dependent variable. Conclusion: The effect of knowledge hiding is inversely proportional to FI, whereas sharing has a direct relation with TI. An exhaustive data sample and a rigorous statistical analysis may give a clear picture of the amount of impact of TI and FI due to the lack of knowledge sharing and/or knowledge hiding. Existing research on civil society organizations (CSOs) facing restricted civic space largely focuses on the crackdown on freedoms and CSOs' strategies to handle these restrictions, often emphasizing impact on their more confrontational public roles. However, many CSOs shape their roles through collaborative relations with government. Drawing on interviews with state agencies and CSOs, this article analyes state–CSO collaboration in the restricted civic space context of disaster risk reduction in India. Findings are that the shaping of CSOs' roles through collaboration under conditions of restricted civic space is only partly defined by the across-the-board restrictive policies that have been the focus of much existing research on restricted civic space and its implications for CSOs. Interplay at the level of individual state agencies and CSOs, based on mutual perceptions, diverse organization-level considerations and actions, and evolving relations, shape who collaborates with whom and to what effect. This article thus stresses interplay and agency, moving away from simple understandings of co-optation, and calling for a more differentiated approach to the study of state–civil society collaboration under conditions of restricted civic space, with close attention to navigation. A commonly explored theme in international civil society organisation (CSO) collaborations is the dominance of Northern CSOs and how this impinges on Southern CSOs' autonomy, but there is little work on the relative importance of different collaborations for Southern CSOs. This study examined complementarity as a new approach to understanding CSO collaboration. Seeking Southern perspectives, we examined the case of CSOs working on disaster risk reduction in India and developed a typology of complementarities in this domain. The article considers the implications for understanding complementarity in broader CSO collaborations. We find that constructing collaborations through the lens of complementarity may facilitate capitalising on diversity among CSOs and help build collaborations that consider the domestic orientation of many Southern CSOs and reshape the roles of Northern CSOs as complementary rather than leading. In this article, we draw on a case study of a weather information system in West Bengal, India to examine how the design and usage of ICTs can play a much larger role in steering holistic changes in everyday practices of smallholder farmers as they cope with effects of climate change. In doing so, we focus on the role of the information system in forging collaborative practices across diverse set of actors with varied interests. We show how collaborative practices facilitate village capacity building to make effective use of outside expertise, convert them into locally relevant knowledge, and imbue them with new meaning in their everyday practices. This study examined the significance of connectivism theory and technology for knowledge creation in cross-cultural communication. The findings rely on the exercise designed and conducted by the facilitators of two different institutions/universities based in two different countries. This exercise was conducted for two intercultural management classes in New Delhi, India and Graz, Austria. This article used student-centric teaching approach and output-oriented methodology based on the principles of connectivism and knowledge creation. It demonstrates how these approaches foster lifelong learning in students. The task involved selection of commercial advertisements (preferably national ones), in which students were expected to work in virtual teams and find cultural differences in the interpretation between the participants from two countries: India and Austria. The key findings of this article are the following: * The students learnt that an answer to a specific question might match the expectations at one point of time with one specific group of people, but might be different in some other point or with some other group of people. * They examined the role of connectivism and its potential application in knowledge creation. * They learnt that people generally see the world not as it is, but as they are, or, as they are conditioned to see it.
