This study was conducted in order to analyze the effect of the nurses’ quality of work life based on fear about COVID-19 and examine the psychological well-being as a moderating variable in this relationship. The survey questionnaire was administered among nurses between 1 November 2020 and 14 November 2020. The self-report survey comprised the nurse information survey, Fear of COVID-19 Scale, work quality of life scale, and psychological well-being scale as data collection tools. Data were obtained from 339 nurses. The findings show that fear of COVID-19 negatively affects nurses’ quality of work life. It has been determined that PWB plays a moderating role in this relationship. While the fear of COVID-19 negatively affects the quality of work life in nurses with low psychological well-being, there is not any kind of significant effect on the quality of work life in nurses with high psychological well-being. This result shows that as the psychological well-being of nurses’ increases, fear of COVID-19 effect on quality of work life decreases. The results of the study show that responses designed to enhance psychological well-being can enhance nurses' working conditions that could reduce the negative effects of the fear of COVID-19. There is an urgent need for clinical and policy strategies to help increase nurses’ PWB in order to increase the quality of work life by reducing fear and also anxiety among nurses fighting on the front line during COVID-19.

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to determine the impact of getting a higher education degree in a developed country on entrepreneurial intentions of individuals in developing countries by using the social cognitive career choice theory. Design/methodology/approach A quantitative methodology was utilised through the application of a questionnaire in a sample located in Northern Cyprus. Findings: This research found that for the students who study abroad, the effects of entrepreneurial self-efficacy, outcome expectations and entrepreneurial interest on entrepreneurial career choices are different than for students who study in their homeland. This finding indicates that the location of the university differentiates the antecedents of entrepreneurial career choice of university students. Research limitations/implications: This research has similar limitations to any cross-sectional research. Conversion of these intentions to behaviour should be explored further. Moreover, different models, such as the theory of planned behaviour, should be incorporated to determine if there are significant, meaningful differences between both groups. Originality/value: The authors did not come across any other research combining the social cognitive career theory and the study abroad subject relating to entrepreneurial career choice. Thus, this research makes a unique contribution to the entrepreneurial career choice theory by showing the moderating role of studying abroad.

Purpose: This study aims to mediate the impact of workplace stress and job satisfaction on nurses' perception of training. It sheds light on the links between job satisfaction, Certified Nursing Assistants' perception of training and workplace stress in nursing homes. Design/methodology/approach: A cross-sectional questionnaire was distributed in 12 different elderly home care centres in Northern Cyprus during September to October 2017. The sampling frame consists of 317 full-time Certified Nursing Assistants who completed measures of perception of training, job satisfaction and workplace stress. This paper used structural equation modelling to test a theoretical model and hypothesis. Findings: The findings emphasize that Certified Nursing Assistants' perception of training has a positive impact on their job satisfaction and negative impact on workplace stress while workplace stress mediates the relationship between their perception of training and job satisfaction. The results indicate that while the motivation for training and support for training have an effect on job satisfaction, access to training and benefits for training do not yield any significant impact on it and workplace stress plays a mediating role. Originality/value: This study confirms that the CNAs' perception of training and job stress affect the emergence of job satisfaction, and workplace stress mediated the relation between training and satisfaction posited by social exchange theory.

This study explores the consequences of self-leadership on job satisfaction, organizational commitment and innovative behaviors of teachers. For this purpose, a field study was conducted with the data gathered from 440 primary school teachers who work in different cities. To test the research hypotheses, correlation and regression analysis were conducted. Results showed that self-leadership behaviors had significant effects on job satisfaction, organizational commitment and innovation. Findings revealed that self-reward and self-punishment strategies had no effect on dependent variables while self-observation and focusing thoughts on natural rewards had the strongest impacts. Also, it was found that some of the demographic variables had effects on some of the factors.

Purpose: Globalisation has made higher education increasingly multicultural. Although multicultural university students' attitudes and interactions with different cultures affect their academic success as well as entrepreneurial intentions, only a few studies have analysed this topic. Therefore, this study examined the assumption that positive psychological capital (PsyCap) mediates the relationship between attitudes towards multiculturalism and entrepreneurial intentions. Design/methodology/approach: A model was proposed and empirically tested 564 university students in Northern Cyprus. Data were analysed using SPSS 23 and AMOS 18 using the PROCESS Macro and Bootstrap methods. Findings: The results indicated that improving university students' attitudes towards multiculturalism will have a beneficial effect on their entrepreneurial intentions. Moreover, PsyCap is a mediator variable on the relationship between multicultural attitudes and entrepreneurial intentions. Research limitations/implications: This study contributes to the literature by theoretically and empirically examining how attitudes towards multiculturalism and PsyCap impact university students' entrepreneurial intentions. Its limitations can be overcome through future research. Practical implications: The study's findings are valid in two areas: (1) assisting policymakers, researchers and academics to better understand the critical influence of university students' attitudes towards multiculturalism on their entrepreneurial intentions, particularly since this topic had not been extensively studied; (2) advancing theoretical discussions by examining the positive effects of internal factors such as PsyCap in terms of multicultural attitudes and entrepreneurial intentions. Social implications: The study provides empirical evidence that academics and university administrators should pay attention to multicultural attitudes to increase university students' entrepreneurial intentions. Hence, it focused on the relationship between multicultural society, entrepreneurial intentions, and PsyCap. Originality/value: Attitudes towards multiculturalism influence students' entrepreneurial intentions through PsyCap. The context of cultural values and multiculturalism determines the premises of entrepreneurial intentions. This study is unique and innovative as it brings a new focus to academic literature.

This study aimed to investigate the personal and contextual determinants affecting the employability perception of university students using a comprehensive model, and to compare the effects of these determinants with each other. The sample consisted of 463 university students from Turkish universities in Istanbul. Following explanatory and confirmatory analyses, the study variables were tested via hierarchical regression analysis. Across all variables, generic skills, academic performance, personal circumstances, and external labor market had significant and positive effects on the perception of employability, while students' work experience and the contribution of university and consultants did not. The external labor market was identified as the strongest determinant of employability, and contextual factors were identified as having a stronger influence than personal ones. The results present a number of suggestions for stakeholders--including the Ministry of Education, university administrations, teaching staff, employers, students, families, media, and graduates--vis-à-vis perceived employability.

Purpose: The aim of this research is to investigate the association between perceived overqualification and leisure crafting in the context of immigrants. Drawing on the cross-cultural adaptation theory, the study tests the moderating role that acculturation plays in this relationship. Design/methodology/approach: Data were collected from a total of 226 immigrants living in Northern Cyprus. In the initial survey, data were collected on perceived overqualification and acculturation, which was followed by the measurement of leisure crafting. Data analysis was performed using structural equation modeling. Findings: Perceived overqualification asserts a significantly positive impact on leisure crafting. Assuming that acculturation plays a moderating role, the research shows that the positive effect that perceived overqualification has on leisure crafting is increased in cases where positive acculturation is elevated as opposed to reduced. Research limitations/implications: The study results were based on self-reported surveys and data were limited to overqualified immigrant groups in Northern Cyprus. Practical implications: The study provides significant practical implications for management teams. They can design managerial interventions to increase the acculturation of immigrants, which may in turn reduce the perceived overqualification and increase the positive impact of leisure crafting. Also, the government needs to implement policies targeted at immigrants in order to help them rapidly adapt to the host society. Originality/value: This research will be a pioneering attempt to explore the positive relationship between perceived overqualification and leisure crafting. The results suggest actions that can be taken to promote leisure crafting behaviors through the use of acculturation to enhance organizational commitment, belongingness to the host society, and well-being in overqualified immigrants. Purpose: In what may be the first study of its kind in business and entrepreneurship, the purpose of this paper is to compare faculty and student perceptions and beliefs about entrepreneurship motives and barriers and student aspirations in order to explore implications for entrepreneurship education (EE). Design/Methodology/Approach: The authors survey 3,037 students and faculty in the USA, China, India, Turkey, Belgium, and Spain, focusing on perceptions of entrepreneurship motives and barriers. Factor analysis organizes data for comparisons and regressions. Findings: The authors find significant faculty-student differences in views of entrepreneurship motives and barriers, university environments, and student aspirations. An especially important finding is that, across six countries with widely varying cultures, economies, and entrepreneurial environments, students consistently see themselves as more entrepreneurial than the faculty perceive. Research Limitations/Implications: Limitations include sample size and self-reporting. The authors also have focused on the significance of differences in perceptions, not on whether faculty or student perceptions are correct. A major implication of the study is that EE curricula need to be assessed in terms of their impact on the self-confidence, risk aversion, and entrepreneurial disposition of students. Originality/Value: The authors shine light on an overlooked topic--faculty-student perceptual alignment--to stimulate research and strengthen EE, especially regarding students' self-confidence and views of failure and risk.

This study examined the impact of job satisfaction and organizational commitment on teachers' organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) in a structural equation model. The study was employed to a group of teachers and their supervisors. The results indicated that job satisfaction and commitment to the school had an impact on OCBs of the teachers and organizational commitment mediated the relation between job satisfaction and OCB. The current working environment requires employees to have some control over their jobs. Drawing on the job demands–resource (JD-R) theory, we investigated the relationship between job crafting and job boredom. Based on the generational cohort theory, we determined the strength of the relationship using generational diversity as a moderator. Data from 320 participants employed in white-collar jobs in the private sector were collected over two time periods. Structural equation modeling and hierarchical regression were used in the analysis. The results of this study show that job crafting has a significant negative impact on job boredom. This effect is further differentiated by generational differences, that is, belonging to Gen X or the Millennial cohorts. The use of self-administered questionnaires may result in the selection of 'socially desired' outcomes. This study has implications for today's intergenerational environment, since different generational groups have different attributes, priorities, desires and motivations that impact their actions. This study adds to the limited research on the impact of job crafting on job boredom. However, this is the first study to examine the moderating effect of Gen X and Millennials on the relationship between job crafting and boredom. As a result, appropriate incentives can be implemented to encourage crafting among generational cohorts within organizations, especially with the entry of Generation Z into the workforce. With the advancements in the strategic management field, logistics management has changed considerably and logistics competency has emerged as a new and important area of research. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to find the core logistics abilities, which enable nations to achieve a competitive advantage in the logistics market. Two different data sets, one from World Economic Forum and the other from the World Bank were used. Cluster and discriminant analysis were used to answer the research questions. The results indicated that while the logistics infrastructure and the customs were absolute in determining a high-competitive country, the logistics competence and the tracking & tracing were the core logistics abilities needed to sustain the competitive advantage in long term. The implications of these results are also discussed.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has significantly impacted hotel employees' mental, emotional, and psychological well-being. This study examines the impact of COVID-19-fueled fears on hospitality workers' turnover intentions, specifically subjective well-being as a potential moderator variable. Of the 500 U.S. hotel employees contacted, 326 responded. They demonstrated that COVID-19-related fears significantly influenced hotel employees' turnover intentions. The study concludes that hotel employees' subjective well-being should be promoted to alleviate the emotional and mental health problems caused by the fear of COVID-19 in order to reduce the number of employees willing to quit. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to discuss the possibility of setting up a platform for inclusive policymaking process drawing upon the blockchain concept. The study posits that blockchain also has great potentials in non-financial applications, such as in policymaking, where there is a need for bottom-up approaches with more decentralized, distributed and evidence-based processes. Design/methodology/approach: The study makes use of an analogy-based creative design methodology. The design science paradigm has its roots in engineering and the sciences of the artificial (Simon, 1996). As a problem-solving paradigm for solving complex engineering issues, design science seeks to create innovations that define the ideas, practices, technical capabilities and products through which the analysis, design, implementation and use of information systems can be effectively and efficiently accomplished. In the present study, the policy development theories and the logic of blockchain are synthesized to prepare a task model for the "IdeaChain" concept as a platform for creating, sharing and validating novel ideas as well as converting them into policies or new ventures through the funding mechanisms. Findings: The IdeaChain concept is designed and demonstrated through its use in the domain of science, technology and innovation (STI) policy, which can be extended to cover all innovative activities linking the whole process from their emergence, funding, development, implementation and impact upon policy. Originality/value: Blockchain is mostly discussed in literature with its impact on financial sector. IdeaChain is the first attempt to explore the potentials of blockchain in STI policymaking. The entrepreneurial behavior of the employees in the hospitality industry plays an important role in ensuring "customer satisfaction" by affecting the quality of service provided to customers. In this sense, the promotion of entrepreneurial behaviors is a very important issue in order to maintain the sustainable competitive structure of the hospitality industry. The main purpose of our research is to contribute to the literature of hospitality industry by providing a better understanding of the factors affecting entrepreneurial behavior and to provide practical suggestions to sector managers. In this context, a conceptual model has been developed that includes the relationship between leader member interaction and human resource management practices and entrepreneurial behaviors. Structural equation modeling was used to test the model experimentally. Data were collected from 5-star hotel staff in Cyprus and 302 survey answers were analyzed. The results of the analysis show that human resources management practices positively affect entrepreneurial behaviors and the leading member interaction has an mediating role in this relationship. The uniqueness of our research is that it examines the impact of human resources management practices on entrepreneurial behaviors separately and provides valuable contributions to the literature by testing the mediating model. Because of globalization, the accommodation sector is increasingly international in terms of both its customers and employees. To ensure sustainable competition, intercultural workplace relationships must be understood, supported, and developed. In this study, the effects of multicultural personality traits and crosscultural positive psychological capital on employee perceived service quality were investigated. Data were obtained from 346 employees from different fivestar hotels in Northern Cyprus. The data were analysed using structural equation modelling. Analyses results showed that the understanding and development of multicultural personality traits of employees from different cultures in the hospitality sector, which has a multicultural structure, positively affects the service quality and collective cross-cultural psychological capital directs this relationship mediates. The theoretical dimensions of these relationships are discussed and recommendations to help multicultural service sector management are introduced, to ensure sustainable growth. Purpose – This paper aims to describe and empirically test a comprehensive model on the entrepreneurial intentions of the university students in which some individual and environmental factors were included. Also, the strengths of individual and environmental factors' influence are compared. Design/methodology/approach – A questionnaire survey was completed by a random sample (n=356) of business administration, health sciences and law faculty students across two Turkish universities. Results were based on correlation and regression analysis. Findings – Results indicate that as individual factors locus of control and entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) and as environmental ones social network and access to capital have significant impacts on entrepreneurial intentions of students. However, the results showed that the university environment does not have any significant impact. Research limitations/implications – Self-report bias and cross-sectional data are possible limitations. Longitudinal studies in the future may have different results. Originality/value – The paper demonstrates that ESE is the most important factor on the entrepreneurial intention and besides social network contributes as the second factor. Also it puts personality as the dominant factor of entrepreneurial intention of students. However, paper introduces that the university environment does not have any significant impact on the entrepreneurial intentions. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of burnout on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) in a mediating model in which the job satisfaction was contextual state. Data were obtained from 257 nurses from three university hospitals. While the data involving burnout and job satisfaction were gathered from the nurses, OCB data were obtained from supervisors. The findings of hierarchical regression analysis demonstrated that the only contributor burnout dimension on OCB-O (ODB toward organization) was the reduced personal accomplishment while emotional exhaustion and depersonalization had no effect. Also the findings of mediation analysis showed that job satisfaction is a mediator in the relation between reduced personal accomplishment and OCB-O and it is not a mediating factor in relation between all three burnout dimensions and OCB-I (OCB toward individuals) [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study investigated the relationship between green entrepreneurship intention (GEI) and green entrepreneurship behavior (GEB). The study explored how university education support and green consumption commitment (GCC) moderate the relationship between green entrepreneurship intention and the GEB of university students in Ghana. The researcher used a quantitative approach. A total of 420 responses from the university campuses in Ghana were acquired through a purposive sampling method. A structural equation model was established with the help of AMOS 18. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to assess the goodness of fit of the hypothesized model, the construct validity was evaluated, and the model had an acceptable fit. The results indicated that GEI positively influenced GEB. High university education support yielded a more substantial effect. This finding supports the notion that UES and GCC moderate the relationship between GEI and GEB. The research was limited to a survey questionnaire. The researcher acknowledges that the research was carried out in Ghana, and for generalization purposes it is recommended that the pool of university students surveyed should be extended to cover more countries in Africa, or a comparative study should be conducted that includes Ghana and some European countries. Today, universities are seen as the main actors of technological change, innovation, and social development; this situation causes new roles for universities, as well as forces them to change. At present, universities face very important expectations such as research and entrepreneurial activities by providing the industry–university cooperation along with education and training. In order to manage that transformation, it is seen that the universities across the world evolve to context of entrepreneurial university. Within this general framework, the main objective of this research is to determine where Turkish universities stand on the transformation of entrepreneurial university. In order to achieve this goal, 68 public universities' strategic plans, which are thought to reflect the intentions for the future, were subjected to content analysis. The findings showed that the majority of universities in our country did not have entrepreneurial university features but they have strong intention and desire for a transformation in this direction.
