How do organizations respond to institutional complexity arising out of both domestic and global forces? We focus on corporate social responsibility (CSR) reporting in China and empirically test the effects of both domestic institutional connections and world cultural linkage. We analyze the adoption of CSR reports compiled by 3,757 listed firms in China from 2006 to 2020 via a discrete‐time event history framework. We seek to explain the adoption of two different forms of CSR reports: those explicitly referencing global models and those written under the guidance of government agencies. To what extent is the adoption of CSR reports attributable to political signaling from the party‐government nexus or world culture pressures? Do the influences operate similarly for the reports based on national governmental directives and those more explicitly linked to world society? Our findings conclude that the firms' global connectedness better explains the adoption of Global Reporting Initiative‐based reports. In contrast, their linkage to domestic political processes, especially at the central level, is well attuned to the versions promoted by government agencies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract: This paper is devoted to the study of a generalized Chinese business cycle by nonlinear dynamical method. Firstly, we establish a Chinese economic cycle model based on Goodwin model, and then discuss the point estimation and confidence interval of the model’s parameter values based on the historical data. At last, we study the bifurcation and chaotic behavior of the model. The results show that the marginal consumption has great influence on the development of Chinese economic. The Chinese economic development will run into the stable periodic wave when the marginal consumer is greater than 0.5. Furthermore, the greater the marginal consumption is, the more stable the economic development is. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

In this paper, the chaotic characteristic of the Sprott N system with parameter is studied in theoretical analysis and numerical simulations, and abundant dynamical behavior is presented. When the parameter β = 1:9, the system exist chaotic attractor. The abundance dynamical behavior of the system is presented by the global bifurcation graph and the Lyapunov exponent. In order to realize the full state hybrid projective synchronization (FSHPS) of the system, Smarandache controller is design. Numerical simulations show that the controller works well. Based on eighteen months of fieldwork in a county in Southeast China, this article identifies three tendencies that have appeared in the revitalization of temple-based popular religion in the post-Mao period. These three tendencies—women taking more central roles in popular religion, the bifurcation between the ever increasing popularity and prosperity of a small number of temples and the decline in the majority of small village temples, and the tendency of popular religion temples to acquire Buddhist features—have consequently caused the character and terrain of popular religion to diverge greatly from the pre-1949 past. To explain these changes, the article argues that we have to come to terms with the two faces of popular religion: the communal/mandatory dimension and the individual/voluntary dimension that is largely associated with female devotees. All three tendencies have been taking place when popular religion temples’ bonds with village communities attenuated and their voluntary dimension moved to the forefront. The article attributes the weakening of the communal dimension of popular religion temples to the restructuring of rural society by the Maoist political campaigns and the post-Mao marketization.
