The purpose of this article is to describe and analyze the reconversion experiences of four social organizations to sustain the social bond and collective care in popular neighborhoods of the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA), Argentina, during the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on qualitative research work with an ethnographic approach, conducted remotely between July and September 2020, we i) reconstructed the social context and characterized the activities of the socio-community organizations studied in AMBA, before and during the pandemic; ii) sketched images such as the collective "la olla" organization, which describe the community provision of care; and iii) showed how, in the context of restricted movement, the organizations had to deploy tactics to "contain," "accompany" and take care of themselves and others. In line with debates about an economy of care, which produces values surreptitiously appropriated by the rest of the economy, this paper focuses on those resulting from socio-community practices related to: food --"la olla" and "la fila"--, health, and socio-affective --"containment"--. This proposal is intended to contribute to the theoretical-political field of discussion, in which it is situated, on the paradox between the centrality of (socio-community) care, for the production of social welfare, and its insufficient recognition in economic, social, and political terms. The Argentine economic crisis that began in 2001 resulted in the general impoverishment of the population but had an even stronger effect on the lives of children. Children became the main actors of a national tragedy that received worldwide attention as malnutrition, starvation, and poor health began taking place in one of the most food- and resource-rich countries in the Western Hemisphere. Different voluntary and non-profit networks of aid were created to help children in need. This paper critically assesses the effectiveness of two NGOs that created networks of aid to help needy children. The activities of the NGOs are positioned in relation to an emerging literature on the geographies of responsibility and care. The first network analyzed is an internet-based organization of aid for needy children that operates across Argentina and beyond but that has not been capable of sustaining support from donors and sponsors. The networks' appeal to a totalizing notion of care and its use of universalizing representations of children have been insufficient to personally involve people with the plight of needy children and to sustain the network over the years. On the other hand, the second network analyzed has followed a more relational and personal approach to care and even involved young people across Argentina as active participants in the care of needy children and people in general. The operation and logic behind the two networks of aid represent two models of caring for children and provides insights into the challenges of creating responsible geographies of care. This article provides an ethnographic analysis of the agency of women who reside in the rural areas of the Argentine Pampas, based on their promotion and production of agroecological family horticulture. The recognition of these women's agency through care - care of their children, global care, and green care - offers a significant challenge to some metrocentric and Eurocentric feminist perspectives that claim care work can only be oppressive for women. The first of these types of care empowers women to improve the nutrition of their children. It also relates to another underlying type of care, which is to provide a sufficiently robust education as to ensure their children have a better and alternative future. The second type of care has the power to socially transform the territorial space of the district's countryside and its marginalized populations which, through care, acquire greater public and political attention. The third type of care empowers women to transform and care for the environment, and is exercised by not using pesticides in horticultural production and by disseminating knowledge on the matter. In line with discussions of postcolonial feminism (Abu-Lughod, 1986; Mahmood, 2001; Suárez Navaz, 2008), I argue that certain properties that are attributed to women relative to caregiving - by way of a dichotomous view of gender relations - fuel their agency: for these women the cultivation of vegetables is a form of agency that actively combats food, training and labor inequality. Women and transgender people who practice prostitution as constituent violated and socially stigmatized group, not only because they belong to the female gender but also by an activity such as prostitution so stigmatized by society as a whole including men who consumed. In that sense, this paper attempts to analyze the social factors that affect the health of women and trans people in prostitution; also examine the influence of gender on the health of them. To fulfill these, it is used as a tool for data collection of life stories. It should be noted that it is progress achieved so far as a result of a broader process of qualitative research. Women and trans people in prostitution are exposed to working conditions and health unfavorable. Among them we can mention: the commodification of the body, the violence may suffer because of transit late at night in downtown areas as peripheral, the limited possibilities of negotiating condom use since the prostituyentes offer higher pay in exchange for not using it. As if this were not enough, attendance at health centers becomes difficult because of the hours of operation (in their moments of rest) and the discrimination they are exposed. This article discusses the results of ethnographic case studies on female cross-border experiences in the Paraná Tri-Border Area (between Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay) conducted in 2018 and 2019. Reclaiming the life histories of thirty Paraguayan women, we will analyze the tensions that lie between family trajectories, female transgenerational acquisition of cultural and social capitals, rural-urban and transborder mobility, and labor insertion. Our analysis will explore more in-depth the impact that productive and reproductive work overloads have on different generations of women who share family bonds, showing how their care responsibilities are intrinsically related to their agency strategies.
