Traditionally, earthquake impact assessments have been made via fieldwork by non-governmental organisations (NGO's) sponsored data collection; however, this approach is time-consuming, expensive and often limited. Recently, social media (SM) has become a valuable tool for quickly collecting large amounts of first-hand data after a disaster and shows great potential for decision-making. Nevertheless, extracting meaningful information from SM is an ongoing area of research. This paper tests the accuracy of the pre-trained sentiment analysis (SA) model developed by the no-code machine learning platform MonkeyLearn using the text data related to the emergency response and early recovery phase of the three major earthquakes that struck Albania on the 26th November 2019. These events caused 51 deaths, 3000 injuries and extensive damage. We obtained 695 tweets with the hashtags: #Albania #AlbanianEarthquake, and #albanianearthquake from the 26th November 2019 to the 3rd February 2020. We used these data to test the accuracy of the pre-trained SA classification model developed by MonkeyLearn to identify polarity in text data. This test explores the feasibility to automate the classification process to extract meaningful information from text data from SM in real-time in the future. We tested the no-code machine learning platform's performance using a confusion matrix. We obtained an overall accuracy (ACC) of 63% and a misclassification rate of 37%. We conclude that the ACC of the unsupervised classification is sufficient for a preliminary assessment, but further research is needed to determine if the accuracy is improved by customising the training model of the machine learning platform. We know the world is heading towards the virtual side, and we must adapt to it, especially in academic fields. In this paper we propose to develop a social media application for students in Albania as a modern and responsive solution that combines cutting-edge technologies to create a user-friendly interface for students to engage in real-time conversations with each other, store and manage large amounts of data, and collaborate on various academic-related topics. After extensive research and market study, we have identified the shortcomings of current e-learning applications to create the best suitable and enhanced application to solve the problems we are facing today. Our goal is to create a suitable and enhanced environment for e-learning, responding to the needs of academic community and providing a quality of teaching experience virtually. We have designed a user interface that is suitable and easy to use for users of all computer literacy levels. The interface will enable intuitive and easy navigation and use of the application, which will help to create a close collaborative environment and support among e-learning participants. Data security and privacy will be a special priority, by implementing strong security protocols to protect students' and lecturers' personal data and information. Purpose: Despite scholarly effort to understand customers' recovery evaluation, little progress is evident in deciphering how customers develop online failure/recovery perception. This paper aims to address this issue. Design/methodology/approach: Social constructivism was the epistemic choice for this study. This approach is holistic and offers a comprehensive understanding of each side of the phenomena. This provided social scientific descriptions of people and their cultural bases and built on, and articulated what was implicit in interpretations of their views. Findings: Online banking customer groups were identified as: exigent customers, solutionist customers and impulsive customers. Customers' position in each group determined failure perception, recovery expectation and evaluation, and post-recovery behaviour. Comparisons were observed and discussed in relation to Albania and Kosovo. It was suggested that banks should expand their presence in social media platforms and offer a means to manage online customer communication and spread of online WOM. Research limitations/implications: For exigent customers, the failure/recovery responsibility is embedded within the provider. This explains their high sensitivity and criteria to define a failure. Practical implications: Online banking customers' request of a satisfactory recovery experience included: customer notifications, customer behaviour, customer determination, and the mediator of request. 10;Providers should examine customer failure/recovery experiences in cooperation with other banks which should lead to a higher order understanding of customer withdrawal and disengagement activities. Social implications: Post-recovery behaviour is linked to the decline of online banking usage, switching to new providers, and the spread of negative online and off-line word-of-mouth. Originality/value: This is the first empirical study on online service failure and recovery strategy to provide information on customers' unique preferences and expectations in the recovery process. Online customers are organised into a threefold customer typology, and explanation for the providers' role in the online customer failure-recovery perception construct is presented. This study aims to examine the professional standards of journalists in Albania and Kosovo to determine the relevance of Hallin and Mancini's media system in the age of digital journalism and social media. This is because the media system continues to be an important analytical tool for understanding the fundamental characteristics of national media and comparing media sectors across countries. A qualitative method was utilized to elucidate this, with semi-structured interviews performed with 22 television and digital journalism editors and journalists, as well as social media managers in Albania and Kosovo. The findings indicate that although television stations continue to target traditional audiences using professional journalism standards, journalists in digital journalism and social media compromise on professional standards to give the public what they want. Although Hallin and Mancini's media system as an analytical framework for evaluating media models remains useful, the criteria for evaluating them should be changed in light of changes in the media environment over the last two decades. The Asian tiger mosquito, Aedes albopictus, is an invasive mosquito species that is considered a potential vector of about 22 arboviruses, among which dengue, chikungunya and Zika. Here we report the first record of Aedes albopictus in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo. The first finding, in July 2020, was driven by a photo of an adult mosquito published by a citizen in social media. The subsequent field investigation in July 2020 confirmed the presence of adult mosquitoes by human landing catch and collection of eggs in ovitraps at the village Zhur. Monitoring was performed for 7 weeks with ovitraps and BG-Sentinel adult traps at 36 sampling stations from 7 localities, in the Southern part of Kosovo, on the border with Albania. Fifty-two out of 81 ovitrap samples resulted positive for the presence of Ae. albopictus. A total of 2,711 eggs are collected in 22 out 36 stations and a total of 78 adults from 4 out 4 stations with BG Sentinel trap and 15 adults with handled electric aspirator. Our finding shows that the tiger mosquito is expanding its geographical range in the Balkans, southeastern Europe. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Newspaper advertising was among main advertising channels in the last several decades. With the advent of internet it lost altitude. Technological improvements have created new challenges for the newspaper advertising such as website or social media advertising. The reason for this study is to notice the current face of printed newspaper advertising in Albanian market and to figure out an appropriate answer; whether there is a feasible future for the newspaper adverting in Albania or not. In this study we intended to investigate not only readers' opinions toward newspaper advertisements but also to see circumstances of newspapers and online media as economically in the country. At present, there are six newspapers in the highest sales (Gazeta Shqiptare, Panorama, Shekulli, Korrieri, Shqip dhe Mapo) in Albanian print media. Also we considered their advertising incomes and the general tendency toward newspaper advertising in the country business. For this research, quantitative survey method was conducted. The designed questionnaire includes 31 questions. 225 people participated in the survey and the collected data was analyzed through Chi-Square test, One Way ANOVA test and Factor Analyses methods. The results indicate that the printed newspaper advertising, in spite of the growing competition with the advertising on other audio-visual media, will continue to have an irreplaceable place in the advertising market as a result of its favorable features.
