Background: The school-located influenza vaccinations (SLIV) can increase influenza vaccination and reduce influenza infections among school-aged children. However, the vaccination rate has remained low and varied widely among schools in Beijing, China. This study aimed to ascertain barriers and facilitators of implementing SLIV and to identify implementation strategies for SLIV quality improvement programs in this context. Methods: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with diverse stakeholders (i.e., representatives of both the Department of Health and the Department of Education, school physicians, class headteachers, and parents) involved in SLIV implementation. Participants were identified by purposive and snowball sampling. The Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research was adopted to facilitate data collection and analysis. Themes and subthemes regarding barriers and facilitators were generated using deductive and inductive approaches. Based on the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research—Expert Recommendations for Implementing Change (CFIR-ERIC) matching tool, practical implementation strategies were proposed to address the identified barriers of SLIV delivery. Results: Twenty-four participants were interviewed. Facilitators included easy access to SLIV, clear responsibilities and close collaboration among government sectors, top-down authority, integrating SLIV into the routine of schools, and priority given to SLIV. The main barriers were parents' misconception, inefficient coordination for vaccine supply and vaccination dates, the lack of planning, and inadequate access to knowledge and information about the SLIV. CFIR-ERIC Matching tool suggested implementation strategies at the system (i.e., developing an implementation blueprint, and promoting network weaving), school (i.e., training and educating school implementers), and consumer (i.e., engaging students and parents) levels to improve SLIV implementation. Conclusions: There were substantial barriers to the delivery of the SLIV program. Theory-driven implementation strategies developed in this pre-implementation study should be considered to address those identified determinants for successful SLIV implementation. To explore the effect of mindfulness intervention on the psychological resilience and professional identity of nursing undergraduates during the epidemic and its mechanisms, and to provide strong evidence for improving the mental health status and professional identity of nursing undergraduates. Methods One hundred and eight nursing students were randomly selected from a pre-survey conducted at a university in Beijing from April 25-30, 2021, of whom 52 were placed in the intervention group for a combined online and offline mindfulness intervention, whereas 56 were placed in the control group and received no intervention. The Resilience Style Questionnaire (RSQ) and Professional Identity for Nurse Students Questionnaire (PINSQ) were used to assess the levels of psychological resilience and professional identity of members in both groups before intervention, 1 week after intervention, and 3 months after intervention (followup). SAS 9.4 software was used to evaluate the intervention effect using generalized estimating equations, and the Process test was used to analyze the mediating effect of psychological resilience. Results After intervention, the psychological resilience of the intervention group was higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05); at follow -up, there was no statistically significant difference in psychological resilience between the intervention group and the control group (P > 0.05). The psychological resilience of students in the intervention group increased after intervention and at follow -up compared to before intervention (P < 0.05), but decreased at follow-up compared to after intervention (P < 0.05); there was no change in the level of psychological resilience of control students at each time point (P > 0.05). After intervention, the professional identity score of the intervention group was higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05), and at follow-up time, the professional identity of the intervention group was higher than that of the control group (P < 0.01). The increase in professional identity at each time point in the intervention group was statistically significant (P < 0.05), while there was no statistically significant difference in professional identity in the control group at each time points (P > 0.05). Mindfulness intervention affected professional identity by affecting psychological resilience levels, with a mediation effect ratio of 23.67%. Conclusions A mindfulness intervention could effectively improve the psychological resilience and professional identity levels of nursing undergraduates during the epidemic, providing a basis for subsequent psychological interventions and research. The concentration levels of 36 airborne heavy metals and atmospheric radioactivity in total suspended particulate (TSP) samples were measured to investigate the chemical characteristics, potential sources of aerosols, and health risk in Beijing, China, from September 2016 to September 2017. The TSP concentrations varied from 6.93 to 469.18 μg/m3, with a median of 133.97 μg/m3. The order for the mean concentrations of heavy metals, known as hazardous air pollutants (HAPs), was as follows: Mn > Pb > As > Cr > Ni > Se > Cd > Co > Sb > Hg > Be; Non-Designated HAPs Metals: Ca > Fe > Mg > Al > K > Na > Zn > P > Ba > Ti > Cu > Sr > B > Sn > I > V > Rb > Ce > Mo > Cs > Th > Ag > U > Pt. The median concentration of As was higher than China air quality standard (6 ng/m3). The gross α and β concentration levels in aerosols were (1.84 ± 1.59) mBg/m3 and (1.15 ± 0.85) mBg/m3, respectively. The enrichment factor values of Cu, Ba, B, Ce, Tl, Cs, Pb, As, Cd, Sb, Hg, Fe, Zn, Sn, I, Mo, and Ag were higher than 10, which indicated enriched results from anthropogenic sources. Pb, As, and Cd are considered to originate from multiple sources; fireworks released Ba during China spring festival; Fe, Ce, and Cs may come from stable emissions such as industrial gases. The health risks from anthropogenic metals via inhalation, ingestion, and dermal pathway were estimated on the basis of health quotient as well as the results indicated that children faced the higher risk than adults during the research period. More accurate multivariate load forecasting is conducive to integrated energy system planning optimization and economic operation. In this paper, based on the consideration of exogenous factors such as weather, endogenous factors are added into the prediction, and a short-term prediction model for integrated energy multivariate load based on endo-exogenous uncertainty is established using fine-tuned transfer learning. The LSTM pre-training model is first initially established using genetic algorithm and exogenous factors such as weather. Then the exogenous uncertainty of the pre-training model and the knowledge of endogenous uncertainty in the target model are combined using fine-tuned transfer learning to continuously optimize the basic parameters of the prediction model to obtain the final multivariate load prediction model. The performance of the four models is comprehensively evaluated after the historical load validation of the integrated energy system in Beijing, China. Compared with the traditional LSTM multivariate load forecasting model, the MAPE of the proposed model in this paper is reduced by 21.03 %, 13.00 %, and 24.39 % for electricity, heat, and cooling load forecasting, respectively. • The coupling mechanism between multiple energy sources of the integrated energy system is analyzed. • An endogenous-exogenous uncertainty method is proposed to extract the dynamic coupling relationship between multiple loads. • An endogenous-exogenous uncertainty-based GA-LSTM multivariate load prediction model is developed. • Optimizing model parameters using fine-tuned migration learning to deepen the impact of endo-exogenous uncertainty. In order to establish a regional database on natural radioactivity, a series of measurements of 713 atmospheric aerosol samples collected on filters over a two-year period (2018–2019) in center of Beijing, northeastern China have been performed to analyze 7Be and 210Pb activity concentrations. The mean activity concentrations of 7Be and 210Pb were found to be 7.10 ± 2.44 mBq m−3 and 2.93 ± 1.52 mBq m−3, respectively. Both the radionuclides exhibited strong seasonal variations, with maximum concentration of 7Be occurring in the spring and that of 210Pb in the winter. The concentration of both the radionuclides was minimum in the rainy summer. Higher 7Be concentration in the spring was mainly caused by the stratosphere to troposphere exchange. Higher 210Pb concentration during winter was maybe attributed to the combustion processes in heating systems and the ingression of continental air masses resulted from winds originating from northwest. The dependence of the activity concentrations of 7Be and 210Pb with meteorological parameters such as rainfall, temperature, and humidity was studied through linear correlation analysis. Statistically significant negative correlations were observed between 7Be and 210Pb activity concentrations with rainfall, respectively, which suggested that the removal mechanisms of these two radionuclides were similar. Lead-210 showed statistically significant correlations with temperature, humidity and PM 10. A comparison of the data obtained in the present study for Beijing with the northern hemisphere literature values of 7Be and 210Pb in the atmospheric aerosols showed that the values were smaller than the ones observed in the present study. Fifteen pediatric cases of suspected Japanese encephalitis (JE) were reported in Beijing Children's Hospital during the late summer of 2013. The clinical manifestations in most cases included high fever, seizures, and abnormal magnetic resonance imaging findings. Twelve of 15 cases were laboratory-confirmed as JE cases by pathogen identification. Epidemiological investigations showed that five of the 12 laboratory-confirmed patients had an incomplete JE vaccination history. Follow-up investigations after discharge indicated that seven laboratory-confirmed JE patients without JE vaccinations had relatively poor prognoses, with an average Modified Rankin Scale (MRS) score of 2.6 when compared with the other five laboratory-confirmed, JE-vaccinated patients with an average MRS score of 0.5. Thirty-eight cases of listeriosis over a 12-year period from inpatients at a tertiary care hospital in China were reviewed. We found a high prevalence of healthcare-associated cases that did not cluster in time and space.Background. Listeriosis is an emerging infectious disease associated with high mortality. There are few published reports from East Asia and developing countries. Our goal was to describe the clinical characteristics and outcomes of patients diagnosed with Listeria monocytogenes at a tertiary care hospital in Beijing, China.Methods. Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH), an 1800-bed hospital, consists of 2 campuses that house different medical departments. We retrospectively reviewed all culture-proven cases of listeriosis occurring at PUMCH between 1999 and 2011. Point estimates and 95% confidence intervals are presented.Results. There were 38 patients with listeriosis: 5 neonatal, 8 maternal, and 25 nonmaternal. The median age of the adult nonmaternal patients was 47 (range, 18–79) years with a female predominance (72%). Forty percent (n = 10) had an underlying rheumatic disease. Forty-four percent of cases (n = 11) were healthcare-associated infections occurring a median of 20 (range, 3–44) days after hospital admission. Only 2 of the 11 healthcare-associated cases clustered in space and time. One healthcare-associated case occurred in a patient receiving KHI-272 therapy, an oral, irreversible dual EGFR/HER2 inhibitor. The neonatal and maternal listeriosis cases were similar to those reported in the literature.Conclusions. Nonclustered healthcare-associated cases of L. monocytogenes occurred at a large tertiary care hospital in Beijing, China. The source of these infections is unclear. Although rare, in the setting of immunosuppression, Listeria should be considered in the differential diagnosis of healthcare-associated infections, even in the absence of a point-source outbreak. Soil conservation and water retention are important metrics for designating key ecological functional areas and ecological red line (ERL) areas. However, research on the quantitative identification of dominant environmental factors in different ecological red line areas remains relatively inadequate, which is unfavorable for the zone-based management of ecological functional areas. This paper presents a case study of Beijing's ERL areas. In order to objectively reflect the ecological characteristics of ERL areas in Beijing, which is mainly dominated by mountainous areas, the application of remote sensing data at a high resolution is important for the improvement of model calculation and spatial heterogeneity. Based on multi-source remote sensing data, meteorological and soil observations as well as soil erosion and water yield were calculated using the revised universal soil loss equation (RUSLE) and integrated valuation of ecosystem services and tradeoffs (InVEST) model. Combining the influencing factors, including slope, precipitation, land use type, vegetation coverage, geomorphological type, and elevation, a quantitative attribution analysis was performed on soil erosion and water yield in Beijing's ERL areas using the geographical detector. The power of each influencing factor and their interaction factors in explaining the spatial distribution of soil erosion or water yield varied significantly among different ERL areas. Vegetation coverage was the dominant factor affecting soil erosion in Beijing's ERL areas, explaining greater than 30% of its spatial heterogeneity. Land use type could explain the spatial heterogeneity of water yield more than 60%. In addition, the combination of vegetation coverage and slope was found to significantly enhance the spatial distribution of soil erosion (>55% in various ERL areas). The superposition of land use type and slope explained greater than 70% of the spatial distribution for water yield in ERL areas. The geographical detector results indicated that the high soil erosion risk areas and high water yield areas varied significantly among different ERL areas. Abstract: Shigella sonnei has become the dominant serotype causing shigellosis in Asian countries in recent years. In this study, we characterize the increasing trend of antibiotic resistance profiles and genotypes of S. sonnei isolates in the Beijing area. From January 2002 to December 2007, a total of 1108 Shigella isolates including 362 S. sonnei were recovered from diarrhea patients at the 302nd Hospital in Beijing. While the frequency of S. flexneri gradually decreased, S. sonnei gradually increased and became the dominant species. A total of 362 S. sonnei isolates were further analyzed for their antimicrobial profiles and 272 revived isolates were selected for genotyping analysis, respectively. High-level antimicrobial resistances were observed in sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim (94.5%), ampicillin (40.3%), piperacillin (36.5%), and ceftriaxone (12.8%) with significant single- and multiple-drug resistance increase trends from 2002 to 2007 (P = 0.0000). Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis analysis indicated that 263 (96.7%) S. sonnei belonged to 1 clonal genotype A, which were further divided into A1–A6 subtypes. While subtype A2 was dominant in the early stage of study years, subtype A4 started to emerge and increased significantly in later years. Antimicrobial resistance rates are statistically different among the 6 subtypes (P = 0.0000), and A4 possessed the highest resistance rates to ampicillin (83.7%) and piperacillin (81.4%). Subtype A3 was highly clustered in inpatients compared to other subtypes (P = 0.0145). This study indicates that a clonal S. sonnei strain has become dominant in the Beijing area, and subtype A4 is responsible for increased antibiotic resistance. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
