In order to clarify the trapping efficiency of different types of sex pheromone traps on populations of Spodoptera litura in soybean fields, three kinds of conventional traps, called YL-VT, YL-HEMT and YL-NMT, and types of traps equipped with a automatic catch monitoring mechanism, called AIM and AIM-lite-A, have been tested. These last two allow monitoring the diurnal and seasonal rhythms of the catches. From 5 August to 5 October 2020, each YL-VT trap caught an average of 84.4 heads of S. litura moths per day, which was significantly higher than the YL-HEMT (11.8 heads), YL-NMT (16.5 heads) and AIM (9.7 heads), which did not show significant differences between them. The half-life of pheromone attraction effect in YL-VT trap is about 17–20 days. Considering the number of trapping and the duration of pheromone attraction effect, YL-VT trap is the best. For efficient monitoring, the validity period is approximately 15 days. Among the causes that could explain its higher capture rate and efficiency, the YL-VT trap has the smallest and largest number of inlet devices, and in it, the lure core is located inside of the insect inlet device. Under different occurrence numbers of S. litura, the accuracy of the automatic count of AIM-lite-A is 90% greater than in the AIM trap. The diurnal rhythms of S. litura observed by AIM-lite-A show that S. litura have two active periods that are from 18:00 to 21:00 and from 23:00 to 4:00 at night and that the first active period may be affected by sunshine and temperature. The annual activity rhythm of S. litura monitored by AIM showed that the activity of S. litura was related to temperature, there were approximately 6 generations of S. litura in a year and that the activity peak was from August to September in Dangtu, China. AIM and AIM-lite-A can be used for the annual monitoring of S. litura population in soybean fields because of their automatic counting function. AIM can simultaneously record a variety of meteorological data, AIM-lite-A has higher accuracy and a lower cost, which can be selected according to different situations. In conventional traps, the trap YL-VT can be used for the population monitoring of S. litura in soybean fields and pest control in the field, especially in greenhouses and net rooms where organic soybeans are grown, due to its low cost and efficient trapping ability. Objectives: To investigate the prevalence of erectile dysfunction (ED) in living donors before and after nephrectomy in China. Methods: From January 2006 to December 2008, erectile function of 94 living donors was evaluated before and after nephrectomy by International Index of Erectile Function, version 5 (IIEF-5). A subanalysis was performed by splitting the total cohort into 2 age groups: those <40 years of age (group 1, n = 21) and those ≥40 years of age (group 2, n = 73). Results: Before and after nephrectomy, the prevalence of ED in group 1 was 9.5% and 19.0% respectively, and in group 2 was 38.4% and 56.2%. The difference between groups was statistically significant at the stage of preoperation (9.5% vs 38.4%, P = .012) and 12 months postoperation (19.0% vs 56.2% P = .003). Compared with the stage of preoperation, the prevalence of ED at the stage of postoperation was significantly increased at group 2 (38.4% vs 56.2%, P = .031), but not in group 1 (9.5% vs 19.0%, P = .663). Conclusions: The prevalence of ED increased in living donors aged more than 40 years after nephrectomy in China. The change in sexual function of these living donors after nephrectomy should cause clinicians'' attention. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: A round robin study across 15 laboratories in China was carried out using single junction devices with an active area of 1cm2 and differently sized small module with an active area of 20 and 24cm2 respectively. The devices represented the state of the art in terms of processing as they did not employ indium or vacuum and were prepared using only printing and coating techniques on flexible substrates. The devices were studied in their flexible form and thus approach the vision of what the polymer solar cell is. The main purpose of the work was to establish and chart geographic and cultural differences in what constitutes a competent IV-characterization procedure and also to establish the spread in measured data across the globe. The main finding is that efficiency data deviated up to 30% from the mean while an overall relative standard deviation of 12% was observed. Collating this spread with previous findings points toward a seemingly region-independent i.e. global observation of the uncertainty in the IV-characterization of a polymer solar cell. Finally, we highlight what might be done to improve the accuracy of the reported data. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Cold seep is characterized by methane-rich fluids released from subsurface reservoirs, and it sustains the chemosynthetic ecosystems on the seafloor. Previous studies suggest that the activity of cold seep could affect the seawater chemistry and ambient temperature. However, the short-term seep activity was hardly reconstructed due to the focus of studies on carbonate or sediment. Vent macrofauna provide such an opportunity by recording in shells the immediate environment in which they grow. The carbonate skeleton of organisms could theoretically preserve environmental variation. Therefore, high-resolution archives are urgently required to understand the influence of cold seep activity on biogeochemistry. In this study, SEM, EDS mapping, EBSD mapping, and LA-ICP-MS analyses were conducted on a clam (Calyptogena sp.) shell collected alive in 2018 from the Haima cold seep in South China Sea. The CaCO 3 , Na, Mg, Sr, and Ba contents and the Sr/Ca, Ba/Ca, and Na/Ca ratios in the hinge plate were measured on LA-ICP-MS by spot analysis and line scanning. The element contents in the hinge are as follows: Mg (38.5-109 μg/g), Na (3117-5246 μg/g), Sr (970-5371 μg/g), and Ba (2.9-11.5 μg/g). The results show that Sr, Re, and Ba content vary synchronously along the direction of growth, but Na has an opposite trend. The element analyses indicate that the eruption of the Haima cold seep was irregular, causing temperature, redox state, and pH changes in the cold seep ecosystem. Introduction: Lifelong premature ejaculation (LPE) is characterized by persistently shorter intravaginal ejaculation latency time (IELT) than found acceptable by the patient or his partner. It has been postulated to be a neurobiological dysfunction with genetic vulnerability and is related to disturbances of central serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT) neurotransmission and 5-HT receptor function., Aim: To investigate the relationship between the C-759T and G-697C polymorphisms of the 5-HT(2C) receptor and LPE., Methods: A prospective study was conducted in 106 Han Chinese men with LPE, characterized by IELT of less than 1 min, and 84 healthy controls with IELT of more than 3 min. All subjects were genotyped for the C-759T and G-697C polymorphisms located in the promoter region of the 5-HT(2C) receptor. The frequencies of genotypes and single nucleotide mutations were compared between the two groups., Results: Three genotypes were detected both in the men with LPE and in the control group: -759C/-697G, -759T/-697C, and -759C/ -697C. Genotype -759T/-697G was not detected. The frequency of genotype -759T/-697C was higher in patients with LPE than in the control group (30.2 vs. 11.9%, p < 0.05), whereas the frequency of genotype -759C/-697G was lower in patients with LPE than in the control group (66.0 vs. 83.3%, p < 0.05). No difference was found for genotype -759C/ -697C between the two groups. Mutations at -759T and -697C were more frequent in patients than in the control group (-759T: 30.2 vs. 13.3%, p < 0.05; -697C: 30.4 vs. 16.7%, p < 0.05, respectively)., Conclusions: Our findings indicated that polymorphisms in the 5-HT(2C) receptor gene are associated with LPE, and men who carry the -759T or -697C genotype have increased odds of premature ejaculation.
