High-Sr/Y granitoids in continental settings are sometimes erroneously regarded as the products derived from partial melting of thickened/delaminated mafic lower curst under relatively higher pressures (>1.5 GPa) in a collisional orogenic setting. In fact, multiple magmatic processes in the trans-crustal magma system, such as recycling of antecrysts, crustal assimilation, and fractional crystallization, can create or modify the primary "adakitic" signature. As a result, the generation of adakitic magmas in continental settings remains controversial from a bulk-rock perspective. Here, we address the origin of adakitic plutonic rocks through geochemical and textural characterization of rock-forming minerals in the pyroxene-bearing Zhuyuan granodiorite, West Qinling, China. The Zhuyuan granodiorite formed in a post-collisional setting and primarily consists of resorbed orthopyroxene, three types of clinopyroxene, amphibole, two types of plagioclases, K-feldspar, biotite, and quartz. Type-1 Cpx has high XMg (70.0–81.7). Type-2 Cpx displays normal zoning and decreasing XMg (80.9 to 71.5) from the core to rim. Type-3 Cpx is reversely zoned, where the rims have higher XMg (75.5–86.9), Ni, Cr, suggesting a recharge event. Orthopyroxene has high-Ni and -Cr contents, as well as high XMg (80.9–82.8), indicative of antecrysts that grew in mafic magma reservoirs. The injection of magmas from different sources is supported by sieve-textured plagioclase and crystal size distributions of non-poikilitic amphibole. Finally, non-sieve textured plagioclase, biotite, K-feldspar, and quartz are late-crystallized phases, indicative of an orthocrystic origin. The melts in equilibrium with these orthocrysts display significantly higher Sr/Y values than the magma batches that crystallized other mafic phases (i.e., amphibole, clinopyroxene, and orthopyroxene). Thus, we propose that the system involved an initial high-Sr/Y melts in equilibrium with the orthocryst assemblage was generated by water-fluxed melting of intermediate to felsic sources. The addition of low Sr/Y non-orthocrysts (e.g., amphibole and pyroxene) and associated melt diluted the original "adakitic signal" in the magma reservoir and drove the bulk composition to more mafic values. Consequently, the Zhuyuan pyroxene-bearing granodiorite represents a mixture of crystals with diverse origins and distinct magma batches of various compositions (from felsic to mafic compositions). Our study emphasizes that the origin of adakitic granitoids cannot be clearly deciphered without geochemical analysis of the constituent minerals. We also suggest that Sr/Y values in plutons should be cautiously used in paleo-crustal thickness estimates in collisional settings because of possible open system scenarios as described here. Feed-in tariffs (FITs) are among the most favoured policies with which to drive the deployment of renewable energy. This paper offers insights into quantifying dynamic FITs to realise the expected installed capacity target with minimum policy cost under uncertainties of renewable intermittence and technology learning. We incorporate real options and use stochastic dynamic programming to model the strategic behaviour between policy-maker and investor and extend the one-time investment decision described by Farrell et al. [2017. 'Specifying an Efficient Renewable Energy Feed-in Tariff.' The Energy Journal 38: 53–75] to multiple-period decisions. An approach that combines binary tree scenario generation and a least squares Monte Carlo method is used to numerically identify the optimal FITs plan in practice. China's offshore wind power investment is used as a case study to investigate the relationships among the optimal dynamic FITs level, the total policy cost, the expected capacity target, and the learning effect. The simulation results demonstrate that our proposed dynamic FITs can track the changes in technology learning well and that they can avoid the inefficiency of fixed FITs in stimulating technology adoption in the initial periods, along with overpayment by the policy-maker. While it has been concluded that climate change poses a significant threat to worldwide supply of freshwater resources, it is unclear if and how demand for water would also be affected. To fill this knowledge gap, we leverage on 'big data' collected using smart water meters from over 40,000 Chinese urban households, spanning nine years and ten provinces to examine the relationship between daily household water usage and climate variability. At the baseline, we find that municipal water is not only a coping mechanism for heat, but its usage is accelerated during heatwave events. Heterogeneity analyses reveal that households from lower-valued properties are more likely to substitute water for electricity to counter heat. Importantly, we find evidence of adaptation behaviors where over time, households are using increasingly more water to cope with high-temperature days. In all, after feeding our results into climate projection models, it is estimated that household water usage will increase by around 7–44% in the long-term (2080–2099) under emissions scenarios of SSP245 and SSP370. The Xihuashan and Tieshanlong tungsten deposit is an important large quartz vein‐type W‐polymetallic deposit in the southern Jiangxi Province, eastern Nanling Range. Zircon U–Pb analyses of representative ore‐forming granites from the Xihuashan and Tieshanlong tungsten deposit yield ages of 146.3 ± 2.9 Ma and 146.0 ± 3.8 Ma, respectively. According to the zircon Raman spectroscopy, these granitic rocks are disturbed by different degrees of hydrothermal alteration, whereas most zircons exhibit primary oscillatory zoning and Th/U ratios in the range of magmatic zircon, which means the analysis results represent the crystallization age of metallogenetic granitic assemblages. In combination with regional geological data, it is suggested that the Late Jurassic is probably another important episode of granitic magmatism and W‐Sn mineralization in southern Jiangxi Provinces, even South China. New-generation farmers have become a vital force for entrepreneurship in their hometowns. To better promote farmers to start businesses, it's important to know about their quality of work life. Based on a survey of the quality of work life and entrepreneurship will of farmers from three cities and eight counties in Shandong province of China, this paper analyzed the effects of farmers' quality of work life on their entrepreneurship will in their hometowns using a Logistic regression model. Our findings show that farmers have a relatively low cognition level of their quality of work life, and their interpersonal relationship, work characteristics, material security, and family demands have significant effects on their entrepreneurship will. According to the findings, this paper proposed some suggestions for promoting farmers' entrepreneurship will in their hometowns from the perspectives of organizational management, extrinsic entrepreneurship stimulus, and internal demand. The energy security situations of many oil-consuming countries have become worse because of greater uncertainty in the world market. This is especially true for developing countries such as China and India, which face greater risks because of their lack of strategic petroleum reserves (SPRs). China and India both embarked on SPR planning during the past few years, with the expectation of eliminating the effects of future oil-supply disruptions. In the world oil market, there are probably interactions between the SPR policies, including acquisition and release strategies, of the two biggest developing countries. Understanding how their SPR policies interact and vary with important factors would help decision-makers develop more effective policies. In this paper, a stochastic dynamic Nash game model has been developed, in which the players compete with each other and make individual decisions to minimize their expected total SPR cost. Using the model, it was possible to obtain, for a few cases, illustrative results for each player''s strategies for building up and drawing down strategic oil reserves These results indicate that the buildup and drawdown policies of the players are related to many factors, including oil-market elasticity, unit stockpile holding costs, disruption and disruption-continuation probabilities, maximum reserve capacities, and other factors. In this study, we show that changes in electricity prices in China have significant environmental consequences through its effect on industrial pollution emissions concentrations. To investigate this relationship, we pair a novel dataset of hourly smokestack-level pollutant emissions of industrial plants in Anhui, China with changes in hourly electricity prices. Using a difference-in-differences (DID) regression model, we find that pollution emissions from these plants have an inverse relationship with electricity prices. This relationship is most prominent for firms in the highly competitive and energy-intensive sectors of metals and cement production. On average, we find that a 1% decrease in electricity price leads to around 1%–5.8% increase in sulfur dioxide and particulate matters emissions concentrations. Similarly, we also found impacts on the number of hours in which emissions were observed. These results suggest that electricity prices could be an effective policy tool for managing air pollution – a challenge currently faced by many low- and middle-income countries. More generally, policymakers need to be cognizant that electricity sector-related policies could generate unintended consequences for the environment. • Exploit changes in electricity prices in Anhui (China) to show that electricity price affects pollution emissions. • Statistical inferences are greatly aided by hourly data on smokestack level emissions and the unique policy change scenario. • Analyses are conducted along dimensions of three sectors, two air pollutants, and two measures of pollution emissions. • We implemented numerous robustness checks to ensure our results are not confounded. As one of the most important instruments for reducing emissions from fossil fuels, taxes have been widely used in government battles against air pollution and climate change across the world. However, the pass-through of taxes and their effect on emissions are not evident in all situations. This study investigates the pass-through of diesel consumption taxes to retail prices and estimates the consequent effect on diesel consumption and carbon emissions in China. The results show that the pass-through rate of diesel taxes in China is around 0.49. Also, there is a significant effect of an oil company's market share on the pass-through rate. Based on the pass-through rate and estimated price elasticity, we conduct further estimations of the impact on diesel consumption and carbon emissions and find that the increase in the diesel consumption tax in 2014/2015 reduces 1.64% of annual diesel consumption and 0.096% of annual carbon emissions in China., Competing Interests: Declaration of competing interest The authors declare that they have no known competing financial interests or personal relationships that could have appeared to influence the work reported in this paper., (Copyright © 2022 Elsevier Ltd. The carbapenemases have recently emerged as molecules implicated in one of the most feared bacterial resistance mechanisms because of their ability to hydrolyze virtually all lactamase agents and their highly mobile genes. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of carbapenemase and antimicrobial susceptibilities of Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from burn patients in Chongqing, China. Antimicrobial susceptibility of 111 isolates was determined by the disc agar diffusion test and the agar dilution method. Random Amplification of Polymorphic DNA polymerase chain reaction analysis revealed 111 P. aeruginosa 42 genotypes. Carbapenemase genes were amplified by polymerase chain reaction and the sequence verified by blast. Ninety-three of 111 (83.8%) isolates were resistant to imipenem; all of them had developed multidrug resistance and exhibited higher resistant rates compared with the imipenem-susceptible Pseudomonas. Ciprofloxacin was the most effective antipseudomonal agent. Thirty-three of the isolates were identified to contain the metallo-β-lactamase blaIMP-4 gene and belong to different Random Amplification of Polymorphic DNA polymerase chain reactiongenotypes. In conclusion, the high prevalence of multidrug resistance (94.6%) and the production of blaIMP-4 genes in P. aeruginosa isolates in burn patients highlight the necessity of considering these issues in burn hospitals.

Objective: To evaluate the field application of IHA and ELISA for schistosomiasis japonica detection at low transmission status., Methods: 728 and 799 persons were examined by Kato-Katz's method, IHA and ELISA for schistosomiasis in an endemic village in the year of 2008 and 2010, respectively. The results of IHA and ELISA was evaluated in comparison to that of Kato-Katz (27 slides with 3 stool specimens) used as gold standard., Results: The positive rate of Kato-Katz's method, IHA and ELISA were 10.3% (75/728), 40.0% (291/728) and 40.1% (292/728) in 2008, and 3.8% (30/799), 31.5% (252/799) and 40.1% (320/799) in 2010 respectively, in which significant difference was observed for the result between Kato-katz's method (chi2 = 26.92, P < 0.05) and IHA (chi2 = 11.82, P < 0.05). The consistency between the result of antibody detection and that of Kato-Katz's method was poor, lower than 0.2 (P < 0.01). If routine screening diagnosis mode was adopted, namely, population screened with IHA or ELISA first and confirmed with Kato-Katz's method, correlation analysis showed that the positive rate of Kato-Katz's method increased with the number of stool specimens and slides (rIHA2008 = 0.922, rELISA2008 = 0.908, rIHA2010 = 0.749, rELISA = 0.798; P < 0.05) . Those with egg positive but missed by IHA or ELISA mainly were cases with low infection intensity. When EPG < or = 40, the rate of detection ranged from 66.1% (39/59) to 87.0% (20/23) with IHA, and 62.7% (37/59) to 100% (23/23) with ELISA. When EPG > 40, however, all cases could be detected with ELISA, but some missed with IHA., Conclusion: In low transmission areas, the determination of target population for chemotherapy should be based on the examination of nine slides per stool specimen by Kato-Katz's method after serological screening.

Microbial infection is an obstacle of burn treatment. However, little is known on what types of microbial infection dominate in the burn center and how the dynamic change of those microorganisms occurs during the past several years in China. We conducted a retrospective study of nosocomial infection (NI) in a large burn center to analyze the spectrum and antimicrobial resistance of microbial isolates from January 2003 to December 2010. We studied 989 isolates from 677 patients who had signs and symptoms of infection 48h after admission. The number of NIs per 100 admissions was 10.9. The commonest isolates were Pseudomonas aeruginosa (23.1%), Staphylococcus aureus (18.7%), and Candida (11.4%). The result indicated that the numbers of patients with Acinetobacter sp. infection increased (P=0.004), but with Proteus mirabilis infection decreased (P=0.004). The isolated Acinetobacter sp. and P. aeruginosa were consistently highly resistant to almost all antibiotics tested. Notably, more frequent Acinetobacter sp. isolates appeared to be resistant to amikacin, gentamicin, tobramycin, ceftazidim, piperacillin, tazobactam, levofloxacin, and ciprofloxacin and more frequent Escherichia coli isolates were resistant to ceftazidime and aztreonam at the late time period although the P. aeruginosa and E. coli isolates were sensitive to less used ciprofloxacin and piperacillin/tazobactam. The incidence of candidemia has increased in recent years. This paper reports a retrospective analysis of 270 cases of candidemia occurring from January 2000 to December 2009 at a teaching hospital in China. Demographic and clinical data were collected from patient medical records and the hospital's laboratory database. Candida albicans (35.9%) was the most prevalent species isolated, followed by C. tropicalis (21.8%) and C. glabrata (13.0%). Antifungal susceptibilities to fluconazole, flucytosine, and amphotericin B tended to decline over the study period. The most common risk factors were the presence of central venous catheters, endotracheal intubation, hypoproteinemia, renal failure, and concurrent bacteremia. In the 181 (67.0%) patients who died during hospitalization, endotracheal intubation, hypoproteinemia, and C. albicans were the major factors associated with mortality. This study highlights the importance of considering the possibility of invasive Candida infection in patients exposed to these risk factors.

Objective: To understand the distribution, fauna, population structure of host animals and their parasitic fleas as well as popular dynamic of animal plague of natural plague foci in Junggar Basin., Methods: Sample materials and data of animals and vector insects were collected using ecological methods and the population structures were analyzed statistically. F1 antibody of Yersinia pestis in rodents' serum and organ suspension was detected by means of IHA while the pathogen of Y. pestis in rodents and vector insects was detected by means of aetiological detections and the isolated Y. pestis was detected using biochemical methods., Results: The small mammals which were found in Junggar Basin belonged to 17 species of 11 genera 7 families. Of them, 13 species of rodents were included whose parasitic fleas belonged to 19 species of 10 genera 8 families. The average coverage of Rhombomys opimus hole-community was 22.5% in Junggar Basin with the average density of R. opimus hole-community was 15.9/hm2 and the average rate of habitat of the hole-community was 70.2%. In the R. opimus community, the average density of rodents was 3.1/hole-community, and 34.4/hm2 in the nature plague foci. In the population structure of the hole-community of R. opimus, R. opimus accounted for 72.9% in the total captured rodents, Meriones meridianus was 24.5% while the others were 2.6%. In the nocturnal community of rodents, M. meridianus accounted for 64.0% in total captured rodents, Dipus sagitta was 15.1%, M. erythrourns was 7.5% and the others were 13.4%. In the rodents community of Junggar Basin, the rate of R. opimus with fleas was 84.9%, which was the highest, followed by M. tamariscinus, Euchoreutes naso and M. erythrourns, with the rates as 71.4%, 66.7% and 62.7% respectively. The rate of M. meridianus with fleas was 38.3%. There were 16 species of parasitic fleas in R. opimus, with the total flea index as 8.58 and the dominant species was Xenopsylla skrjabini. There were 17 and 16 kinds of fleas in M. erythrourns and M. meridianus respectively with the total flea index were 1.59 and 1.15, with dominant fleas were Nosopsyllus laeviceps and X. skrjabini. The serum and organ suspension of 3179 rodents which belonged to 12 species were detected by means of IHA, of them 174 samples were positive and the positive rate was 5.5%. There were 1356 samples of R. opimus in these materials, and 164 were positive, accounted for 12.1%. The samples of M. meridianus were 1255, with 9 positive, accounted for 0.7%. The samples of D. sagitta were 116 with 1 positive and the rate was 0.9%. The samples of other rodents were 452 but were all negative. There were in total 2975 organs collected from rodents, when detected by methods of isolated of Y. pestis. 15 strains of Y. pestis were isolated from 1243 R. opimus, and 2 strains isolated from 1230 M. meridianus. A total number of 11 647 fleas from rodents were detected by methods of isolated of Y. pestis in which 1 strain of Y. pestis was isolated from 4713 X. skrjabini, and 6 were isolated from 2101 Xenopsylla minax, 1 from 328 Xenopsylla conformis conformis and 1 from 250 Echidnophaga oschanini. Among the other 4255 fleas, none was isolated. The biochemical properties of these Y. pestis which isolated from Junggar Basin were positive of Maltose, Ejiao sugar and Glycerol, and negative of Rhamnose and Nitrogen, which were all strongly poisonous to mouse., Conclusion: The natural plague foci in Junggar Basin spread all over the whole Junggar Basin. There were animal plague cases found in 12 counties (cites) while Karamy, Bole, Jimusaer and Qitai were confirmed as plague foci counties (cities). Animals and vector insects of the foci were complicated but the ecological system was stable. R. opimus was recognized as the dominant host animal and its biochemical type belonged to the Middle Ages, suggesting that the foci was a new type of natural plague foci.
