Abstract

The article presents a study which evaluates the effect of urbanization on both global and regional climate in the U.S. It states that the research involves computation of the estimates of a reasonable average flux of sensible and latent heat for each of the different types of land-use categories including water, forest, and short vegetation. The research shows that urban land cover caused the largest proportionate sensible and latent heat fluxes during the winter of 1996.
