Abstract

The precise measurements of energy spectra and anisotropy could help us uncover the local cosmic-ray accelerators. Our recent works have shown that spectral hardening above $200$ GeV in the energy spectra and transition of large-scale anisotropy at $\sim 100$ TeV are of local source origin. Less than $100$ TeV, both spectral hardening and anisotropy explicitly indicate the dominant contribution from nearby sources. In this work, we further investigate the parameter space of sources allowed by the observational energy spectra and anisotropy amplitude. To obtain the best-fit source parameters, a numerical package to compute the parameter posterior distributions based on Bayesian inference, which is applied to perform an elaborate scan of parameter space. We find that by combining the energy spectra and anisotropy data, the permissible range of location and age of local source is considerably reduced. When comparing with the current local SNR catalog, only Geminga SNR could be the proper candidate of the local cosmic-ray source., Comment: 9 pages, 9 figures, 2 tables

124. Analysis of Lipid Oxidation Products and Volatile Flavor Compounds in Instant Meatballs during Short-term Storage

Abstract

Lipid oxidation and degradation in instant meatballs stored for different periods of time (0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 days) were investigated by measuring peroxide value (POV), thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) value, carbonyl value and diene value. The changes in the fatty acid composition of instant meatballs during storage were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The evolution of volatile flavor compounds was studied by headspace-solid phase microextraction gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC-MS) combined with calculation of odor activity value (OAV) and sensory evaluation. The results showed that eating quality attributes such as flavor and texture continued to decline during storage. Off-flavor appeared on the 4th day, and then quality deterioration was accelerated. The POV increased significantly during the early stage (0–3 days), but did not change significantly at the later stage (3–5 days). The TBARS value first increased slowly (0–4 days) and then dramatically (4–5 days). The carbonyl and diene values showed an upward trend during storage, indicating an increase in the degree of lipid oxidation. During storage, the proportion of unsaturated fatty acids (UFA) especially polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) was significantly reduced. A total of 36 volatile flavor compounds with OAV ≥ 0.1 were detected. Among of them, the number (15) of aldehydes was highest. The OAVs of aldehydes and alcohols accounted for a high proportion (79.73%–87.58% and 10.15%–16.64%, respectively) of the total. Four and two classes of odor-active compounds were significantly correlated with lipid oxidation and sensory score for flavor, respectively.

Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the dynamic changes of metabolites in beef high rib with different dry-aging periods by non-targeted metabolomics based on ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS). Multivariate statistical analysis and metabolic pathway analysis were performed on the metabolites. The results showed that 41 differential metabolites were identified in dry-aged beef, including 21 amino acids, 16 fatty acids, 2 nucleotides and 2 other metabolites. The types and relative contents of differential metabolites increased significantly with prolonged aging time. Five key metabolic pathways were identified, including purine metabolism; fatty acid degradation; alanine, aspartate and glutamate metabolism; arginine and proline metabolism; and the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, which could promote the formation of flavor and nutrients in dry-aged beef.

Abstract

The utilization of large-area graphene grown by chemical vapour deposition (CVD) is crucial for the development of scalable spin interconnects in all-spin-based memory and logic circuits. However, the fundamental influence of the presence of multilayer graphene patches and their boundaries on spin dynamics has not been addressed yet, which is necessary for basic understanding and application of robust spin interconnects. Here, we report universal spin transport and dynamic properties in specially devised single layer, bi-layer, and tri-layer graphene channels and their layer boundaries and folds that are usually present in CVD graphene samples. We observe uniform spin lifetime with isotropic spin relaxation for spins with different orientations in graphene layers and their boundaries at room temperature. In all the inhomogeneous graphene channels, the spin lifetime anisotropy ratios for spins polarized out-of-plane and in-plane are measured to be close to unity. Our analysis shows the importance of both Elliott-Yafet and Dyakonov-Perel mechanisms, with an increasing role of the latter mechanism in multilayer channels. These results of universal and isotropic spin transport on large-area inhomogeneous CVD graphene with multilayer patches and their boundaries and folds at room temperature prove its outstanding spin interconnect functionality, beneficial for the development of scalable spintronic circuits.

Abstract

The efficient generation and control of spin polarization via charge-spin conversion in topological semimetals are desirable for future spintronic and quantum technologies. Here, we report the charge-spin conversion (CSC) signals measured in a Weyl semimetal candidate WTe2 based hybrid graphene device with a geometrical design. Notably, the geometrical angle of WTe2 on the graphene spin-valve channel yields contributions to symmetric and anti-symmetric CSC signal components. The spin precession measurements of CSC signal at different gate voltages and ferromagnet magnetization shows the robustness of the CSC in WTe2 at room temperature. These results can be useful for the design of heterostructure devices and in the architectures of two-dimensional spintronic circuits.
