Autophagy maintains cells survival in many stressful conditions including starvation, growth factor deprivation and misfolded protein accumulation. Additionally, autophagic survival mechanisms are used by transformed tumor cells to inhibit cell death, limit drug effectiveness and possibly generate drug resistance. However, the mechanism of how cells utilize autophagy during drug resistance is not fully understood. Here, we demonstrate that miR-216b plays an important role in alleviating drug resistance by regulating autophagy in melanoma. We show that miR-216b attenuates autophagy by directly targeting three key autophagy genes Beclin-1, UVRAG and ATG5. Overexpression of these genes from miRNA immune cDNA constructs rescue autophagic activity in the presence of miR-216b. Antagomir-mediated inactivation of endogenous miR-216b led to an increase of Beclin-1, UVRAG, ATG5, and subsequent autophagic activity. More importantly, we have discovered that BRAF(V600E) inhibitor vemurafenib suppresses miR-216b activity, which in turn activates autophagy to generate drug resistance in both BRAFi-sensitive and -resistant cells. Strikingly, ectopic expression of miR-216b increases the efficacy of vemurafenib both in vitro and in vivo . Taken together, these data indicate that miR-216b regulates autophagy by suppressing three key autophagy genes, and enhances the antitumor activity of vemurafenib in BRAF(V600E) melanoma cells. Thyroid cancer is the most common endocrine cancer. Neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase (NTRK) fusions are oncogenic drivers in multiple solid tumors, including thyroid cancer. NTRK fusion thyroid cancer has unique pathological features such as mixed structure, multiple nodes, lymph node metastasis, and a background of chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis. Currently, RNA-based next-generation sequencing is the gold standard for the detection of NTRK fusions. Tropomyosin receptor kinase inhibitors have shown promising efficacy in patients with NTRK fusion-positive thyroid cancer. Efforts to overcome acquired drug resistance are the focus of research concerning next-generation TRK inhibitors. However, there are no authoritative recommendations or standardized procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of NTRK fusions in thyroid cancer. This review discusses current research progress regarding NTRK fusion-positive thyroid cancer, summarizes the clinicopathological features of the disease, and outlines the current statuses of NTRK fusion detection and targeted therapeutic agents. Oysters are a keystone species in estuaries and intertidal zones and have important economic and ecological significance; however, worldwide, the dominant aquaculture oyster species suffers from mass mortality owing to anthropogenic impacts and rapid climate change. As a possible solution, inter/intraspecies hybridization is a feasible way to breed new germplasms with genetic improvement and high environmental adaptability. Suminoe oysters (Crassostrea ariakensis) are broadly distributed in the estuaries of China and have evolved strong genetic divergence between the northern and southern populations; therefore, they are ideal candidates to explore intraspecies heterosis and the associated molecular mechanisms. In this study, we performed reciprocal hybridization and examined fitness traits in oysters cultured in both northern and southern habitats. Reciprocal hybrids performed better than inbred populations in both environments, indicating heterosis in Suminoe oysters. Hybrids reared in maternal habitats showed faster growth, higher field survival, and greater aerobic metabolism than alternative hybrid oysters under the same conditions. The transcriptional analysis identified modules related to heterosis and maternal effect, while genes responsible for galactose metabolism, glycolysis/gluconeogenesis, and the tricarboxylic acid cycle were enriched and upregulated in hybrids, especially those in maternal environments. Our findings reveal that accelerated aerobic energy metabolism, which may result from mitonuclear coadaptation, underlies the molecular basis of heterosis and maternal effect in the hybridization of Suminoe oysters. Daylighting system by concentrating and transmitting sunlight through optical fiber is an emerging technology of direct utilization of solar energy. In this work, a sunlight concentrating and transmitting system via plastic optical fibers was developed and investigated. This study addressed the overheating problem of plastic optical fibers under highly concentrated light irradiation. Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) plastic fibers have a strong absorption in the infrared band. The PMMA plastic fiber generates serious heat under highly concentrated light transmission, which leads to its overheating and burning. In this study, an incident light filtering method based on the combination of infrared filter and insulating glass is proposed. By filtering out the infrared band light with significant thermal effect, the PMMA plastic optical fibers are guaranteed to be within a safe working temperature range. Experiments demonstrated that the developed filter system can ensure the safe operation of PMMA plastic optical fibers at the concentration level of about 4300 suns. Culex pipiens molestus and Culex pipiens pallens are two distinct bioforms in the Culex pipiens complex that are important vectors of several pathogens and are widely distributed around the world. In the current study, we present a high‐quality chromosome‐level genome of Cx. pipiens f. molestus and describe the genetic characteristics of this genome. The assembly genome was 559.749 Mb with contig and scaffold N50 values of 200.952 Mb and 0.370 Mb, and more than 94.78% of the assembled bases were located on 3 chromosomes. A total of 19,399 protein‐coding genes were predicted. Many gene families were expanded in the genome of Cx. pipiens f. molestus, particularly those of the chemosensory protein (CSP) and gustatory receptor (GR) gene families. In addition, utilizing Hi‐C data, we improved the previously assembled draft genome of Cx. pipiens f. pallens, with scaffold N50 of 186.195 Mb and contig N50 of 0.749 Mb, and more than 97.02% of the assembled bases were located on three chromosomes. This reference genome provides a foundation for genome‐based investigations of the unique ecological and evolutionary characteristics of Cx. pipiens f. molestus, and the findings in this study will help to elucidate the mechanisms involved in species divergence in the Culex pipiens complex. The freeze-up period is the pentad average temperature below or equal to 0 °C (≤0 °C), which belong to extreme low temperature events but more rigorous. And analyzing it will contribute to the sparse knowledge of the freeze-up period in the Tibetan Plateau and provide scientific base for animal husbandry production in pastoral area of Northern Tibet and agricultural production in Qaidam Oasis. This paper based on the daily average temperature from a 0.5° × 0.5° gridded data range from 1961 to 2015, the beginning pentad, the ending pentad and the pentads of freeze-up period over the Tibetan Plateau (TP) were calculated. In order to investigate the temporal–spatial variations of the freeze-up period, some methods were applied such as climatic trend rate, the non-parametric Mann–Kendall test, Kriging Interpolation method, wavelet transform and Power Spectrum, etc. The main results were as follows: the annual average beginning pentad had a delaying trend at the rate of 0.24 pentad/decade, the ending pentad was advanced at the rate of 0.35 pentad/decade, but the pentads of freeze-up period had a significant decreasing trend of 0.64 pentad/decade in recent 54 years, additionally, the most remarkable period appeared in 1990s when the freeze-up period shorten. The abrupt change revealed that the year of abrupt change for the beginning pentad and the pentads of freeze-up period was in 1994, and the year of abrupt change for the ending pentad was in 1994, 1995 and 1996. There existed significant regional differences for the freeze-up period, it is noteworthy that the freeze-up period showed a decreasing trend from northwest to southeast over the study region. The significant wavelet power spectra of the beginning pentad were 3.77 years, 4.57 years and 7.14 years and there were obvious periodic oscillations of 3.39 years, 6.49 years for the ending pentad, and the pentads of freeze-up period varied with period of 3.34 years, 4.57 years and 5.46 years, which were consistent with the atmospheric circulation quasi-period of 2–4 years. Furthermore, the correlation coefficient analysis presented that the freeze-up period were mainly controlled by the circulation factors, including the TPI, NHSHII, WPSHII, NHPVAI, NHPVII and APVAI. The initial accumulation state of coarse aggregates in asphalt mixtures has a compactable space. In this paper, the theoretical compaction space is studied for three groups of grades in the design process of skeletal compactness type Marshall grading and the range of grades in Marshall experimental specifications, the full-scale theoretical upper limit of crushing for each group of grades is projected using stochastic mathematical models, and the experimental images are combined to make an analysis and comparison. The study has shown that: the design grade of asphalt mixture and the specification grade in theoretical compaction differences, the average value of the preferred grade compaction space significantly deviated from the range of the guide grade, and the preferred grade compaction space stability is also less than the guide grade. Sepsis is a life-threatening organ dysfunction with devastating consequences, prominent among which is lung damage. Memantine, an N-methyl- D -aspartic acid receptor (NMDAR) antagonist, is able to alleviate acute lung injury (ALI). Nitric oxide (NO) suppresses NLRP3 inflammasome activation against lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced septic shock. MN-08, a novel nitrate derivative of memantine, possesses both the ability to antagonize NMDAR and release NO. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the protective effects of MN-08 against LPS-induced systemic inflammation and septic lung injury in mice, and to explore the underlying mechanisms of MN-08 in LPS-induced mice and THP-1 macrophages. MN-08 significantly increased the survival rate of septic mice, alleviated LPS-induced sepsis in mice via improving systemic inflammatory response syndrome and immune dysfunction, and attenuated pulmonary injury and inflammatory infiltration. More importantly, the therapeutic benefit of MN-08 for sepsis was greater than that of memantine and dexamethasone. Mechanistically, MN-08 exerted anti-inflammatory activity through inhibiting nuclear translocation of NF-κB, activation of the MAPK signaling pathway and the signaling transduction of STAT3/NF-κB. In addition, MN-08 suppressed NLRP3 inflammasome activation. Taken together, our studies demonstrate that MN-08 may be a promising therapeutic agent for sepsis-induced acute lung injury. Background: The Asian tiger mosquito, Aedes albopictus, is one of the most invasive species and a vector of numerous arboviruses. The deleterious effects of long-term and inappropriate use of chemical pesticides have stimulated the exploration of new, environmentally friendly control strategies. Non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) have been proven to participate in almost all biological processes of insects. Methods: In this study, circular RNAs (circRNAs) and microRNAs (miRNAs) covering five developmental stages [egg, early larvae, late larvae, pupae, adult (female and male)] of A. albopictus were obtained using whole-transcriptome sequencing technology. Combined with long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) from previous research, circRNA/lncRNA‒miRNA‒mitochondrial RNA (mRNA) networks were constructed. Results: A total of 1434 circRNAs and 208 miRNAs were identified. More differentially expressed circRNAs (DE circRNAs) and miRNAs (DE miRNAs) were found in the egg versus early larvae comparison group. Functional enrichment analysis demonstrated that most of the circRNA/lncRNA‒miRNA‒mRNA networks were involved in chitin metabolism. Hub genes of each circRNA/lncRNA‒miRNA‒mRNA network were screened out, which can be used as novel targets to disturb the molting process of A. albopictus. Conclusions: Regulatory relationships obtained from competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) networks provide more information to manipulate the metamorphosis process and are helpful for developing effective and sustainable methods to control mosquitoes. The article explores paleoclimatic changes in the Gyirong Basin of China. It notes the Neogene sequence of the Hipparion fauna, molluscs, ostracods and pollen found in the basin. The paleoenvironmental changes identified in the area are paleo-current of alluvial-fan lithofacies, paleo-current of the fluvial-lacustrine lithofacies and paleo-current of the lacustrine-fan delta lithofacies. It also notes that the cooling trend indicate an interplay between tectonism and climatic changes.

Flowering and bud dormancy are crucial stages in the life cycle of perennial angiosperms in temperate climates. MADS-box family genes are involved in many plant growth and development processes. Here, we identified three MADS-box genes in tea plant belonging to the FLOWERING LOCUS C (CsFLC) family. We monitored CsFLC1 transcription throughout the year and found that CsFLC1 was expressed at a higher level during the winter bud dormancy and flowering phases. To clarify the function of CsFLC1, we developed transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana plants heterologously expressing 35S::CsFLC1. These lines bolted and bloomed earlier than the WT (Col-0), and the seed germination rate was inversely proportional to the increased CsFLC1 expression level. The RNA-seq of 35S::CsFLC1 transgenic Arabidopsis showed that many genes responding to ageing, flower development and leaf senescence were affected, and phytohormone-related pathways were especially enriched. According to the results of hormone content detection and RNA transcript level analysis, CsFLC1 controls flowering time possibly by regulating SOC1, AGL42, SEP3 and AP3 and hormone signaling, accumulation and metabolism. This is the first time a study has identified FLC-like genes and characterized CsFLC1 in tea plant. Our results suggest that CsFLC1 might play dual roles in flowering and winter bud dormancy and provide new insight into the molecular mechanisms of FLC in tea plants as well as other plant species. Knowing the rotation and paleo-stress history in Qaidam Basin is a fundamental parameter to quantify the mechanism of intracontinental deformation in Tibetan Plateau. However, few studies have been conducted on tectonic rotation and stress evolution over long timescales in the Qaidam Basin. Here, we report new magnetic declination and the anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility (AMS) from a ∼52–7 Ma sequence of fluvial and lacustrine sediments in the Dahonggou (DHG) section in the northern Qaidam Basin. The magnetic declination revealed that the northern Qaidam Basin underwent a clockwise rotation 25.1° ±8.6° during ∼33–17 Ma, followed by a counterclockwise rotation 16.9°±6.8° during ∼17–13.5 Ma. The AMS results showed that the "earliest deformation" fabrics were interrupted by the "pencil structure" fabrics in the intervals of ∼52–45 and ∼21–15 Ma. The interruption, synchronous with the marked deceleration of the India-Asia convergence rate, indicates pulse of strong tectonic compressive stress. In addition, the AMS results documented a transition in stress direction from S-N to SW-NE at ∼15 Ma, suggesting a kinematic shift in the northeastern TP. Our constraints on the rotation and stress from the northern Qaidam Basin support the two-stage evolution of the Altyn Tagh Fault (ATF). The fast-rate slip motion on the ATF during the early Oligocene caused the clockwise rotation in the northern Qaidam Basin; the second stage with enhanced thrusting since the middle Miocene caused extensive crustal shortening and dispersive NW-trending folds and faults in the Qaidam Basin and the northeastern TP. As a portion of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt (CAOB), the Beishan Orogen is key to the evolution of the Paleo-Asian Ocean (PAO). The Mazongshan ophiolitic mélange in central Beishan Orogen comprises peridotite, gabbro, dolerite, anorthosite, massive and pillow basalt, and chert and turbiditic mudstone. Its age and tectonic environment remain controversial, which seriously affects the understanding of the tectonic evolution of the CAOB and PAO. Geochemical results demonstrated that gabbros could be divided into two distinct groups. Group A was enriched in both large ion lithophile elements (LILE) and high field strength elements (HFSE) and had high total rare earth element (REE) concentrations with the light REE (LREE) distinctly enriched relative to heavy REE (HREE), showing geochemical characteristics of oceanic island basalt (OIB). Group B has enriched LILE but flat HFSE patterns with LREEs slightly depleted relative to HREEs, which was similar to the patterns of normal mid-ocean ridge basalt (N-MORB). Basalts and peridotites displayed consistent geochemistry of MORB. Negative εSr(t) (− 44.89 to − 33.45) and positive εNd(t) (2.21 to 3.29) values of Group A indicated mantle origin. Gabbro and dolerite from Group A yielded a U–Pb age of 420 ± 2 Ma and 414 ± 3 Ma, respectively, but gabbro from Group B and tuff yielded a U–Pb age of 486 ± 15 Ma and 425 ± 6 Ma. The anorthosite dykes were formed approximately during 370 ± 5 Ma. These results demonstrate that the Mazongshan ophiolite represents relicts of the Ordovician–Devonian Paleo-Asian oceanic crust formed in the mid-ocean ridge and oceanic plateau environments. Medical Uncariae Ramulus Cum Uncis consists of Uncaria rhynchophylla (Miq.) Miq. ex Havil, Uncaria macrophylla Wall, Uncaria sinensis (Oliv.) Havil, Uncaria hirsuta Havil, and Uncaria sessilifructus Roxb, which belongs to the species widely used in the genus Uncaria. These species resource widely distributed in China and abroad, and the hook-bearing stem is the primary constituent enrichment site. There are many different forms and architectures of chemicals, depending on the extraction site. Traditional remedies employing URCU had been used widely in antiquity and were first compiled in renowned ancient masterpiece 'Mingyi Bielu (名医别录)' written by Hongjing Tao. In modern pharmacological studies, both the total extracts and the phytoconstituents isolated from URCU have been shown to have neuroprotective, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antibacterial, and autophagy-enhancer properties. This review concentrates on the traditional uses, phytochemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, and nanomaterials studies of URCU, with a perspective to assist with further research and advance. The Chinese and English literature studies of this review are based on these database searches including Science Direct, CNKI, Wiley online library, Spring Link, Web of Science, PubMed, Medalink, Google scholar, Elsevier, ACS Publications, iPlant, Missouri Botanical Garden, Plant of the World Online. The pertinent data on URCU was gathered. Based on the examination of the genus Uncaria , 107 newly marked chemical compositions have been identified from URCU from 2015 to present, including alkaloids, terpenoids, flavonoids, steroids, and others. Pharmacological studies have demonstrated that URCU has a variety of benefits in diseases such as neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and migraine, due to its neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-tumor, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties. According to metabolic and toxicological studies, the dosage, frequency, and interactions of the drugs that occur in vivo are of great significance for determining whether the organic bodies can perform efficacy or produce toxicity. The research on URCU-mediated nanomaterials is expanding and increasing in order to address the inadequacies of conventional Chinese medicine. The alkaloids in URCU have the capability to self-assemble with other classes of components in addition to being biologically active. URCU plants are widely distributed, abundant in chemical constituents, and widely used in both traditional and modern medicine for a variety of pharmacological effects. The utilization of herbal medicines can be raised by assessing the pharmacological distinctions among several species within the same genus and may accelerate the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine. Controlling the concentration of drug administration, monitoring metabolic markers, and inventing novel nanotechnologies are effective strategies for synergistic influence and detoxification to alleviate the main obstacles that toxicity, low bioavailability, and poor permeability. This innovative hydrogel is constructed from a harmonious blend of polydopamine grafted MXene (PMX), chlorogenic acid (CA), L-ascorbate-2-phosphate trisodium slat (L), and adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) derived exosomes (E) with phenylboronic acid modified flaxseed gum (LG-PBA), chemically cross-linked with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) to generate dynamic phenylboronate ester bond, to obtain P-LP-PMX-CA-L@E hydrogel. It was further demonstrated that the ROS/glucose-responsive exosomes-released P-LP-PMX-CA-L@E hydrogel integrated system could reduce ROS and inflammatory response by repairing the electron transfer chain, thereby facilitating skin damage repair in a mouse type I diabetic model. In conclusion, the multifunctional P-LP-PMX-CA-L@E hydrogel, endowed with stimuli-responsive exosomes release capability, exhibits a promoting effect on the healing of chronic diabetic wounds and offers a localized exosomes dual-response release strategy for the treatment of type I diabetic wounds. Muskrats (Ondatra zibethica) develop special glands in the lower abdomen that secrete muskrat musk. The lower abdomen of mice, which are also rodents, has a pair of preputial glands. The muskrat scented glands are suggested to be a specialized form of the preputial glands and homologous to the preputial glands of mice, but little evidence is available to support this notion. Here, we performed histomorphology and metabolomic and transcriptomic analyses of the muskrat scented gland and mouse preputial gland by tissue sectioning, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC–MS), and transcriptome sequencing to determine the similarities between the two organs. The cells of the scented glands and the preputial glands were morphologically similar, with both exhibiting the characteristics of endocrine cells. GC–MS analyses revealed that the secretions from both organs contained large amounts of fatty alcohols, wax esters, and cholesterol, with their secretions having similar components, and may serve as the functional substances of chemical signals. Transcriptome analysis also revealed several genes related to fatty alcohol synthesis, such as FAR1, and genes related to cholesterol metabolism pathways, such as steroid hormone biosynthesis and primary bile acid biosynthesis, that were expressed in both the scented gland and the preputial gland, thereby confirming the findings of tissue sectioning and GC–MS. O-linked N-acetylglucosamine transferase (OGT), a key protein in O-linked N-acetylglucosamine (O-GlcNAc) post-translational modification, catalyzes O-GlcNAcylation by linking GlcNAc from glycosyl donors to protein Ser/Thr residues to regulate multiple biological processes. OGT has become a popular research topic in the field of glycobiology as a potential target. This report consists of three parts, namely: the basic information of OGT, the relationship between OGT and diseases, and the research progress of OGT inhibitors. This report aims to improve the understanding of OGT-related fields from the perspective of its structure. Ergot alkaloids (EAs) are among the most important bioactive natural products. FeII/α-ketoglutarate-dependent dioxygenase Aj_EasH from Aspergillus japonicus is responsible for the formation of the cyclopropyl ring of the ergot alkaloid (EA) cycloclavine (4). Herein we reconstituted the biosynthesis of 4 in vitro from prechanoclavine (1) for the first time. Additionally, an unexpected activity of asymmetric hydroxylation at the C-4 position of EA compound festuclavine (5) for Aj_EasH was revealed. Furthermore, Aj_EasH also catalyzes the hydroxylation of two more EAs 9,10-dihydrolysergol (6) and elymoclavine (7). Thus, our results proved that Aj_EasH is a promiscuous and bimodal dioxygenase that catalyzes both the formation of cyclopropyl ring in 4 and the asymmetric hydroxylation of EAs. Molecular docking (MD) revealed the substrate-binding mode as well as the catalytic mechanism of asymmetric hydroxylation, suggesting more EAs could potentially be recognized and hydroxylated by Aj_EasH. Overall, the newly discovered activity empowered Aj_EasH with great potential for producing more diverse and bioactive EA derivatives. Spodoptera frugiperda (fall armyworm) is a member of the superfamily Noctuoidea that accounts for more than a third of all Lepidoptera and includes a considerable number of agricultural and forest pest species. Spodoptera frugiperda is a polyphagous species that is a significant agricultural pest worldwide, emphasizing its economic importance. Spodoptera frugiperda's genome size, assembly, phylogenetic classification, and transcriptome analysis have all been previously described. However, the different studies reported different compositions of repeated DNA sequences that occupied the whole assembled genome, and the Spodoptera frugiperda genome also lacks the comprehensive study of dynamic satellite DNA. We conducted a comparative analysis of repetitive DNA across geographically distant populations of Spodoptera frugiperda, particularly satellite DNA, using publicly accessible raw genome data from eight different geographical regions. Our results showed that most transposable elements (TEs) were commonly shared across all geographically distant samples, except for the Maverick and PIF/Harbinger elements, which have divergent repeat copies. The TEs age analysis revealed that most TEs families consist of young copies 1–15 million years old; however, PIF/Harbinger has some older/degenerated copies of 30–35 million years old. A total of seven satellite DNA families were discovered, accounting for approximately 0.65% of the entire genome of the Spodoptera frugiperda fall armyworm. The repeat profiling analysis of satellite DNA families revealed differential read depth coverage or copy numbers. The satellite DNA families range in size from the lowest 108 bp SfrSat06-108 families to the largest (1824 bp) SfrSat07-1824 family. We did not observe a statistically significant correlation between monomer length and K2P divergence, copy number, or abundance of each satellite family. Our findings suggest that the satellite DNA families identified in Spodoptera frugiperda account for a considerable proportion of the genome's repetitive fraction. The satellite DNA families' repeat profiling revealed a point mutation along the reference sequences. Mosses compose one of the three lineages of bryophytes. Today, about 13,000 species of mosses are recognized from across the globe, and at least one-third of this diversity composes the Hypnales, a lineage characterized by an early rapid radiation. We sequenced and de novo assembled the genomes of two hypnalean mosses, namely Entodon seductrix and Hypnum curvifolium , based on the 10x genomics and Hi-C data. The genome assemblies of E. seductrix and H. curvifolium comprise 348.4 and 262.0 Mb, respectively, estimated by k -mer analyses to represent 93.3% and 97.2% of their total genome size. Both genomes were assembled at the chromosome level, with scaffold N50 of 30.0 and 20.7 Mb, respectively. The annotated genome of E. seductrix comprises 25,801 protein-coding genes and that of H. curvifolium 29,077, estimated to represent 96.8% and 97.2%, respectively, of the total gene spaces based on BUSCO (Benchmarking Universal Single-Copy Ortholog) assessment. For both genomes, most contigs were anchored to the largest 11 pseudomolecules, corresponding to the 11 chromosomes of the two species, and each with a putative sex-related chromosome characterized by low gene density. The chromosomes of E. seductrix and H. curvifolium are highly syntenic, suggests limited architectural shifts occurred following the rapid radiation of the Hypnales. We compared their genomic features to the model moss Physcomitrium patens. The hypnalean moss genomes lack signatures of recent whole-genome duplication. Konjac glucomannan (KGM) is commonly used as a texture enhancer due to its distinctive gelling properties. This study aimed to investigate the changes in gelling and digestive properties of myofibrillar protein (MP) in Litopenaeus vannamei when modified with varying KGM (1/40, 1/20, and 1/10 of the MP weight, respectively). The physicochemical properties of KGM-modified MP including secondary and tertiary structures, emulsibility, particle size, and protein aggregation were significantly affected. In contrast, the KGM treatment group (1/20 of MP weight, MK20) exhibited the highest storage modulus, loss modulus, and thermal stability of MP. This resulted in an improvement in the water holding capacity, the stability of the three-dimensional space network, and the strength of the heat-induced MP gels. In addition, the digestion behavior of MP gel could be regulated by modifying MP with KGM. When compared to control sample, the digestion rate and hydrolysis degree of MK20 increased by 16.63% and 1.32 times, respectively. However, it should be noted that excessive KGM could result in the formation of a viscous hydrogel that permeates with MP, causing a loose degradation structure and reducing sensitivity to digestive enzymes. The molecular docking results indicated that KGM interacted with MP through hydrogen bonding, primarily relying on its hydroxyl group. This interaction disrupted the α-spiral structure of MP and promoted the expansion of its structure, and ultimately affected the physicochemical properties of MP and its heat-induced gel. In the "digital age", children have widespread access to electronic devices, potentially impacting inhibitory control (IC) development. We examined this association at both the behavioral and neural levels with two experiments. In Experiment 1, we assessed 188 participants (91 girls), averaging 37.74 months old, using maternal self-report questionnaire for screen time and Day-Night Task for IC measurement. In experiment 2, we evaluated 42 participants (24 girls), averaging 41.24 months old, using maternal self-report questionnaires for screen time, a modified version Flanker task for IC, and functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) to measure neural activity during IC task. Results from Experiment 1 indicated a negative correlation between young children's screen media use time and IC, with high users performing worse IC performance than low users. Experiment 2 confirmed these findings and revealed marginally reduced activation in the left PFC among high users compared to low users, with a moderate effect size and weak supporting evidence. These preliminary results underscore a detrimental association between screen media use and IC, emphasizing the significance of restricting screen exposure in young children to prevent overexposure. Charophytes from the middle to late Eocene Kangtuo Formation in the Gaize Basin, central Tibet, are studied from the perspectives of taxonomy, palaeoecology, and biogeography. In the upper member of the Kangtuo Formation of the Mengdangle (MDL) section, southern Gaize Basin, two charophyte species were studied, including Hornichara jianglingensis comb. nov. and Chara cf. wujinensis comb.nov. The flora lives in the temporary pond's depositional environment, based on sedimentological analysis and fossil species occurrence. A palaeobiogeographic analysis of the charophyte assemblage suggests that H. jianglingensis was widely distributed in China basins during the middle to late Eocene, and later as a regional species in the coastal area in the Oligocene. H. jianglingensis and C. cf. wujinensis disappeared during the Oligocene in the interior of the Tibetan Plateau, and it was likely attributed to the rapid uplift of the Central Tibetan Valley. • A middle to late Eocene charophyte flora on the central Tibetan Plateau was described. • Obtusochara jianglingensis was newly combined into Hornichara jianglingensis. • Charites wujinensis was newly combined into Chara cf. wujinensis. • This flora disappeared during the Oligocene in the interior of the Tibetan Plateau. • This local extinction was possibly related to the aridification following the rapid uplift of the Tibetan Plateau. However, the presence of an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) triggered by M2 tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) and the limited tumor cell antigenicity have hindered its broader application. To address these challenges, we developed DOX/R837@ManL, a liposome loaded with imiquimod (R837) and doxorubicin (DOX), modified with mannose-polyethylene glycol (Man-PEG). DOX/R837@ManL employed a mannose receptor (MRC1)-mediated targeting strategy, allowing it to accumulate selectively at M2 Tumor associated macrophages (TAMs) and tumor sites. R837, an immune adjuvant, promoted the conversion of immunosuppressive M2 TAMs into immunostimulatory M1 TAMs, and reshaped the immunosuppressive TME. Simultaneously, DOX release induced immunogenic cell death (ICD) in tumor cells and enhanced tumor cell antigenicity by promoting dendritic cells (DCs) maturation. Through targeted delivery, the synergistic action of R837 and DOX activated innate immunity and coordinated adaptive immunity, enhancing immunotherapy efficacy. In vivo experiments have demonstrated that DOX/R837@ManL effectively eliminated primary tumors and lung metastases, while also preventing tumor recurrence post-surgery. Low temperature is one of the most important environmental factors limiting tea plants' geographic distribution and severely affects spring tea's yield and quality. Circadian components contribute to plant responses to low temperatures; however, comparatively little is known about these components in tea plants. In this study, we identified a core clock component the LATE ELONGATED HYPOCOTYL , CsLHY , which is mainly expressed in tea plants' mature leaves, flowers, and roots. Notably, CsLHY maintained its circadian rhythmicity of expression in summer, but was disrupted in winter and held a high expression level. Meanwhile, we found that CsLHY expression rhythm was not affected by different photoperiods but was quickly broken by cold, and the low temperature induced and kept CsLHY expression at a relatively high level. Yeast one-hybrid and dual-luciferase assays confirmed that CsLHY can bind to the promoter of Sugars Will Eventually be Exported Transporters 17 (CsSWEET17) and function as a transcriptional activator. Furthermore, suppression of CsLHY expression in tea leaves not only reduced CsSWEET17 expression but also impaired the freezing tolerance of leaves compared to the control. Sunlight Concentrated and transmission for daylighting via optical fibers is a booming technology of direct utilization of solar energy. It uses optical fibers to introduce sunlight deep into building interior. In this work, a sunlight concentrating and transmitting system via plastic optical fibers was developed and tested. This study addressed the cooling problem of the plastic optical fibers under highly irradiation. Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) plastic fibers have a strong absorption effect on infrared light, which means that plastic fibers heat up so much when they transmit focused sunlight that they burn. In this study, a comprehensive cooling approach was developed to solve the overheating problem of plastic optical fibers, which consists of an infrared filter, cooling water and a homogenizer. The transmission efficiency of the system was measured to be about 15%. Experiments show that the comprehensive cooling measures developed can ensure that PMMA plastic optical fibers are in a safe temperature range. Background: As a pervasive insect that transmits a variety of pathogens to humans and animals, the housefly has abundant and diverse microbial communities in its intestines. These gut microbes play an important role in the biology of insects and form a symbiotic relationship with the host insect. Alterations in the structure of the gut microbial community would affect larval development. Therefore, it is important to understand the mechanism regulating the influence of specific bacteria on the development of housefly larvae. Methods: For this study we selected the intestinal symbiotic bacterium Enterobacter hormaechei, which is beneficial to the growth and development of housefly larvae, and used it as a probiotic supplement in larval feed. 16S rRNA gene sequencing technology was used to explore the effect of E. hormaechei on the intestinal flora of housefly larvae, and plate confrontation experiments were performed to study the interaction between E. hormaechei and intestinal microorganisms. Results: The composition of the gut microflora of the larvae changed after the larvae were fed E. hormaechei, with the abundance of Pseudochrobactrum, Enterobacter and Vagococcus increasing and that of Klebsiella and Bacillus decreasing. Analysis of the structure and interaction of larval intestinal flora revealed that E. hormaechei inhibited the growth of harmful bacteria, such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Providencia stuartii and Providencia vermicola, and promoted the reproduction of beneficial bacteria. Conclusions: Our study has explored the influence of specific beneficial bacteria on the intestinal flora of houseflies. The results of this study reveal the important role played by specific beneficial bacteria on the development of housefly larvae and provide insight for the development of sustained biological agents for housefly control through interference of gut microbiota. Currently, diabetic infectious wound treatments remain a significant challenge for regenerative medicine due to the unicity of clinical dressings, which lack systemic multifunctional wound dressings with high absorbability, customizable shape, rapid self‐healing, guiding tissue regeneration, and restoring physiological functions. Here, a multifunctional DNA hydrogel is conveniently obtained through grafting DNA units and polyethyleneimine dynamic cross‐linking and doped heating function black phosphorus quantum dots. The obtained DNA hydrogel features excellent exudate absorption performance, adjustable heating ability, mechanical behavior, self‐healing ability, writability, tissue adhesion, and antibacterial properties. The incorporation of procyanidin B2 (OPC B2) endows the DNA hydrogels with renowned scavenging free radicals and antioxidant properties. Furthermore, the DNA hydrogel dressing can promote the transformation of macrophages from pro‐inflammatory M1 into repairing M2 phenotype, keeping the wound in a stable remodeled state. Astonishingly, the DNA hydrogel dressing can activate neurons to transform into a repair state, accelerating skin nerve regeneration and angiogenesis. Beyond that, it can recruit myeloid cells to activate the adaptive immune response, enhancing the ability of DNA hydrogel dressing to promote tissue regeneration, thereby promoting hair follicle and hair regeneration. Understanding the roles of genetic divergence and phenotypic plasticity in adaptation is central to evolutionary biology and important for assessing adaptive potential of species under climate change. Analysis of a chromosome-level assembly and resequencing of individuals across wide latitude distribution in the estuarine oyster (Crassostrea ariakensis) revealed unexpectedly low genomic diversity and population structures shaped by historical glaciation, geological events and oceanographic forces. Strong selection signals were detected in genes responding to temperature and salinity stress, especially of the expanded solute carrier families, highlighting the importance of gene expansion in environmental adaptation. Genes exhibiting high plasticity showed strong selection in upstream regulatory regions that modulate transcription, indicating selection favoring plasticity. Our findings suggest that genomic variation and population structure in marine bivalves are heavily influenced by climate history and physical forces, and gene expansion and selection may enhance phenotypic plasticity that is critical for the adaptation to rapidly changing environments. Abstract: A computer simulation model based on an analytic flow velocity distribution is proposed to generate Doppler ultrasound signals from pulsatile blood flow in the vessels with various stenosis degrees. The model takes into account the velocity field from pulsatile blood flow in the stenosed vessels, sample volume shape and acoustic factors that affect the Doppler signals. By analytically solving the Navier–Stokes equations, the velocity distributions of pulsatile blood flow in the vessels with various stenosis degrees are firstly calculated according to the velocity at the axis of the circular tube. Secondly, power spectral density (PSD) of the Doppler signals is estimated by summing the contribution of all scatterers passing through the sample volume grouped into elemental volumes. Finally, Doppler signals are generated using cosine-superposed components that are modulated by the PSD functions that vary over the cardiac cycle. The results show that the model generates Doppler blood flow signals with characteristics similar to those found in practice. It could be concluded that the proposed approach offers the advantages of computational simplicity and practicality for simulating Doppler ultrasound signals from pulsatile blood flow in stenosed vessels. Three novel Anas platyrhynchos avian β-defensins (Apl_AvBDs), Apl_AvBD4, 7 and 12, were identified successfully and characterized in tissues from Peking ducks in the present study. The cDNA fragment of Apl_AvBD4 contained 171bp, and encoded 56 amino acids. The complete nucleotide sequences of Apl_AvBD7 and 12 contained 204bp and 198bp open reading frames, which encoded 67 and 65 amino acids, respectively. Both recombinant and synthetic forms of the three Apl_AvBDs showed antibacterial activity against most of the bacteria investigated, including Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, except for Salmonella choleraesuis. In addition, the antibacterial activity of all the three Apl_AvBDs decreased significantly in 150mM NaCl. Significant antiviral activity of the three Apl_AvBDs was shown against duck hepatitis virus (DHV). However, none of the Apl_AvBDs showed significant hemolytic activity. Additionally, the expressions of the three Apl_AvBDs in response to DHV infection was highly variable, and significant upregulation of Apl_AvBD7 in liver was found in response to infection at different time points. Expression of Apl_AvBD4 in thymus, and of Apl_AvBD7 in bone marrow was induced in a time-dependent fashion by DHV infection. In contrast, expression of Apl_AvBD12 was found to be significantly decreased, and was hard to detect in cecal tonsil, spleen, bursa of Fabricius, and thymus of ducks at some time points after DHV infection. Four intensive uplift periods, i.e., 60-35, 25-17 and 12-8 Ma (but 18-13 Ma in the Himalayas of the southern Tibet), and since about 5 Ma, can be determined on the Tibetan Plateau by synthetical analysis of low-temperature thermo-chronology data, sedimentary deposit records, and structural deformation records of different areas. The strong tectonic uplift periods in different areas on the Tibetan Plateau are penecontemporaneous, except for the Himalayan area of the southern Tibet, where a rapid uplift and exhumation period, controlled by the activity of the South Tibetan Detachment System faults, occurred during 18-13 Ma. These strong uplift and exhumation periods correspond well to intensive deformation activity periods, suggesting tectonically-controlled uplift and exhumation. The deposit records, such as the distribution of coarse clastic sediments, the distribution of tectonically-controlled basins, stratigraphic discontinuousness or unconformity, and fault-controlled geomorphologic evolution, also match well with the strong uplift and exhumation periods. Abstract: A novel approach based on the phasing-filter (PF) technique and the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) algorithm is proposed to preserve quadrature Doppler signal components from bidirectional slow blood flow close to the vessel wall. Bidirectional mixed Doppler ultrasound signals, which were echoed from the forward and reverse moving blood and vessel wall, were initially separated to avoid the phase distortion of quadrature Doppler signals (which is induced from direct decomposition by the nonlinear EMD processing). Separated unidirectional mixed Doppler signals were decomposed into intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) using the EMD algorithm and the relevant IMFs that contribute to blood flow components were identified and summed to give the blood flow signals, whereby only the components from the bidirectional slow blood flow close to the vessel wall were retained independently. The complex quadrature Doppler blood flow signal was reconstructed from a combination of the extracted unidirectional Doppler blood flow signals. The proposed approach was applied to simulated and clinical Doppler signals. It is concluded from the experimental results that this approach is practical for the preservation of quadrature Doppler signal components from the bidirectional slow blood flow close to the vessel wall, and may provide more diagnostic information for the diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases. However, the extremely unstable interfaces between the electrolyte and electrodes limit its application seriously. Herein, we introduce an organosilicon compound, 1,3-Divinyltetramethyldisiloxane (DTMDS), as multifunctional electrolyte additive to enhance the performance of LiNi 0.5 Mn 1.5 O 4 /Li batteries. DTMDS contains two functional groups: siloxane groups (Si-O) and unsaturated carbon-carbon double bonds (C C). Siloxane groups can capture hydrogen fluoride (HF) in electrolyte, and the carbon-carbon double bonds can form thin and dense passivation layer on both cathode and anode surfaces by polymerization. As a result, the capacity retention of the batteries can retain more than 95% after 500 cycles. Background: Based on recent evidence, more than 200 susceptibility genes have been identified to be associated with autism until now. Correspondingly, cytogenetic abnormalities have been reported for almost every chromosome. While the results of multiple genes associated with risk factors for autism are still incomplete, this paper systematically reviews published meta-analyses and systematic reviews of evidence related to autism occurrence. Method: Literature search was conducted in the PubMed system, and the publication dates were limited between January 2000 and July 2020. We included a meta-analysis and systematic review that assessed the impact of related gene variants on the development of autism. After screening, this comprehensive literature search identified 31 meta-analyses and ten systematic reviews. We arranged the genes related to autism in the published studies according to the order of the chromosomes, and based on the results of a meta-analysis and systematic review, we selected 6 candidate genes related to ASD, namely MTHFR C677T, SLC25A12, OXTR, RELN, 5-HTTLPR, SHANK, including basic features and functions. In addition to these typical genes, we have also listed candidate genes that may exist on almost every chromosome that are related to autism. Results: We found that the results of several literature reviews included in this study showed that the MTHFR C667T variant was a risk factor for the occurrence of ASD, and the results were consistent. The results of studies on SLC25A12 variation (rs2056202 and rs2292813) and ASD risk were inconsistent but statistically significant. No association of 5-HTTLPR was found with autism, but when subgroup analysis was performed according to ethnicity, the association was statistically significant. RELN variants (rs362691 and rs736707) were consistent with ASD risk studies, but some of the results were not statistically significant. Conclusion: This review summarized the well-known ASD candidate genes and listed some new genes that need further study in larger sample sets to improve our understanding of the genetic basis of ASD, but sample size and heterogeneity remain major limiting factors in some genome-wide association studies. We also found that common genetic variants in some genes may be co-risk factors for autism or other neuropsychiatric disorders when we collated these results. Circadian rhythms exist in almost all types of cells in mammals. Thousands of genes exhibit approximately 24 h oscillations in their expression levels, making the circadian clock a crucial regulator of their normal functioning. In this regard, environmental factors to which internal physiological processes are synchronized (e.g., nutrition, feeding/eating patterns, timing and light exposure), become critical to optimize animal physiology, both by managing energy use and by realigning the incompatible processes. Once the circadian clock is disrupted, animals will face the increased risks of diseases, especially metabolic phenotypes. However, little is known about the molecular components of these clocks in domestic species and by which they respond to external stimuli. Here we review evidence for rhythmic control of livestock production and summarize the associated physiological functions, and the molecular mechanisms of the circadian regulation in pig, sheep and cattle. Identification of environmental and physiological inputs that affect circadian gene expressions will help development of novel targets and the corresponding approaches to optimize production efficiency in farm animals. Carbon source addition is an effective microbial management strategy for healthy shrimp growth, but bottleneck problems have emerged in production applications. Beneficial microalgae with functions of capturing carbon dioxide, generating oxygen, absorbing phosphate and recruiting specific bacteria could theoretically modify carbon source addition. However, the implementation effectiveness and underlying microecological mechanism of the combined addition of carbon sources and microalgae remain unknown. Here, we investigated the effects of modified glucose addition with the microalga Nannochloropsis oculata on water quality, shrimp health and rearing water bacterial community. Although purification of the water environment was not achieved, the combined addition of glucose and microalgae significantly improved the shrimp survival rate and immune responses and altered the rearing water bacterial community structure. Network topology analysis indicated that the combined addition limited positive interactions and increased the modularity of the network, which enhanced the bacterial community stability. Partial least squares path modeling (PLS-PM) analysis showed that the bacterial community structure indirectly affected the survival rate of shrimp through bacterial network topological features. Furthermore, comparison of the biomarkers identified by shrimp survival rate-discriminatory importance and the bacterial taxa in the co-occurrence network module related to shrimp survival rate revealed that Rhodobacteraceae taxa recruited by the combined addition of glucose and microalgae might play important roles in maintaining healthy status of shrimp. To identify the most suitable model to describe the growth of the selected strain of scallop "Hongmo No. 1" (Bohai Red♂ X Argopecten irradians concentricus ♀), we analyzed the length/weight-at-age data of scallops reared communally in the same sea area. Our goal was to evaluate the influence of the autumn-winter-spring and spring-summer-autumn cultivation seasons on condition factors and established growth models (logistic, Gompertz, Von Bertalanffy, and Brody). We used three condition factors and the actual cultivation situation to assess the ability of the models to predict future growth. The results showed that growth performance in autumn-winter-spring is better than that during spring-summer-autumn in terms of shell length, shell height, shell width, body weight, adductor muscle weight, shell weight, and survival rate (P < 0.05). As a consequence of the study, it was determined that the Gompertz model best fit the shell length and logistic model best fit body weight in autumn-winter-spring. In addition, the Von Bertalanffy model best fit shell length and the logistic model best fit body weight in spring-summer-autumn. Our results suggest that the selected strain of scallop "Hongmo No. 1" grows better in autumn-winter-spring than spring-summer-autumn. Salmonella enterica is known to survive in desiccate environments and is often associated with low-moisture foods (LMFs). In this work, S. Typhimurium ATCC 14028 was found to survive better by achieving the least reductions (3.17 ± 0.20 Log CFU reduction) compared to S. Tennessee ATCC 10722 (3.82 ± 0.13 Log CFU reduction) and S. Newport ATCC 6962 (6.03 ± 0.36 Log CFU reduction) after 30 days on surfaces with a relative humidity of 49% at ambient temperature. A metabolomic analysis revealed that S. Typhimurium was still active in energy metabolism after 24 h in the desiccate environment and glycogen, an energy reserve, was drastically reduced. We followed up on the glycogen levels over 30 days and found indeed a sharp decline on the first day. However, the glycogens detected on day 7 were significantly higher (P < 0.05) and thereafter remained stable above the original levels until day 30. The expression levels of both glycogen anabolism- and catabolism-related genes (csrA , glgA , glgC , glgX) were significantly up-regulated at all tested points (P < 0.05). The glgA and glgC insertion mutants displayed weaker survivability on both dry surfaces and in representative LMFs (flour and milk powder) compared to the wild-type strain. At the regional scale, the complexity of ecological deterioration limits effective decision-making and preventive measures. In this study, an adverse outcome pathway approach was developed and applied to land resource management and environmental decision-making in Daye, a traditional mining city in China. First, adverse outcome pathways for land degradation were hypothesized. Second, a weight of evidence approach was used based on the data strength and causal chain strength of each degradation pathway. Then, the technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution (TOPSIS) was used with entropy information and integrated with the geographic information system (GIS) to evaluate the credibility of each pathway. The most likely adverse outcome pathway and the spatial distribution for different sub-regions were obtained. The apparent spatial heterogeneity suggests that land degradation pathways are closely associated with economic production activities in each sub-region. This study is expected to facilitate the identification of key mechanisms underlying ecological degradation and to guide the management of land systems to ensure long-term functioning. The extinct legume genus Podocarpium first appeared in the middle Eocene of South China and then became widely distributed throughout Eurasia during the Oligocene and Miocene. Fossil records from Central Asia are important for understanding the patterns of floristic change of Podocarpium between Eastern Asia and Europe, but they are relatively rare. Here, we describe well-preserved fossil fruits and leaves of Podocarpium podocarpum (A. Braun) Herendeen from the early Oligocene (Rupelian) of the Qaidam Basin, northwest China. Morphological comparison among fossil fruits of all Podocarpium reported so far confirms the difference in fruit shape between Podocarpium eocenicum and P. podocarpum , and shows a decrease in fruit size during the Oligocene, which might be a response from this thermophilous plant to a cooler condition. The presence of P. podocarpum in the early Oligocene of Qaidam suggests that the Qaidam Basin might play an important role in the migration of this genus between Eastern Asia and Europe during the early Oligocene. Highlights: Hard-carbon anode dominated with ultra-micropores (< 0.5 nm) was synthesized for sodium-ion batteries via a molten diffusion–carbonization method. The ultra-micropores dominated carbon anode displays an enhanced capacity, which originates from the extra sodium-ion storage sites of the designed ultra-micropores. The thick electrode (~ 19 mg cm−2) with a high areal capacity of 6.14 mAh cm−2 displays an ultrahigh cycling stability and an outstanding low-temperature performance. Pore structure of hard carbon has a fundamental influence on the electrochemical properties in sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). Ultra-micropores (< 0.5 nm) of hard carbon can function as ionic sieves to reduce the diffusion of slovated Na+ but allow the entrance of naked Na+ into the pores, which can reduce the interficial contact between the electrolyte and the inner pores without sacrificing the fast diffusion kinetics. Herein, a molten diffusion–carbonization method is proposed to transform the micropores (> 1 nm) inside carbon into ultra-micropores (< 0.5 nm). Consequently, the designed carbon anode displays an enhanced capacity of 346 mAh g−1 at 30 mA g−1 with a high ICE value of ~ 80.6% and most of the capacity (~ 90%) is below 1 V. Moreover, the high-loading electrode (~ 19 mg cm−2) exhibits a good temperature endurance with a high areal capacity of 6.14 mAh cm−2 at 25 °C and 5.32 mAh cm−2 at − 20 °C. Based on the in situ X-ray diffraction and ex situ solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance results, the designed ultra-micropores provide the extra Na+ storage sites, which mainly contributes to the enhanced capacity. Malignant tumors still pose serious threats to human health due to their high morbidity and mortality. Recurrence and metastasis are the most important factors affecting patient prognosis. Chemotherapeutic drugs and radiation used to treat these tumors mainly interfere with tumor metabolism, destroy DNA integrity, and inhibit protein synthesis. The upregulation of small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) is a prevalent posttranslational modification (PTM) in various cancers and plays a critical role in tumor development. The dysregulation of SUMOylation can protect cancer cells from stresses exerted by external or internal stimuli. SUMOylation is a dynamic process finely regulated by SUMOylation enzymes and proteases to maintain a balance between SUMOylation and deSUMOylation. An increasing number of studies have reported that SUMOylation imbalance may contribute to cancer development, including metastasis, angiogenesis, invasion, and proliferation. High level of SUMOylation is required for cancer cells to survive internal or external stresses. Downregulation of SUMOylation may inhibit the development of cancer, making it an important potential clinical therapeutic target. Some studies have already begun to treat tumors by inhibiting the expression of SUMOylation family members, including SUMO E1 or E2. The tumor cells become more aggressive under internal and external stresses. The prevention of tumor development, metastasis, recurrence, and radiochemotherapy resistance by attenuating SUMOylation requires further exploration. This review focused on SUMOylation in tumor cells to discuss its effects on tumor suppressor proteins and oncoproteins as well as classical tumor pathways to identify new insights for cancer clinical therapy. Constraining the long‐term exhumation history of the Gangdese magmatic arc is critical for understanding the coupled evolution of orogenic exhumation and accumulation of basin sediments on the southern Tibetan Plateau. We present new zircon fission‐track (ZFT) data from sandstones in the Mt. Kailas area, western Tibet, to decipher the relation between source rock exhumation and sediment deposition in the basin. Two sedimentary members were recognized in the Kailas Basin which are the Eocene conglomerates in the hanging wall of the Great Counter Thrust and the Oligocene–Miocene Kailas Formation in the footwall. The Eocene conglomerates were mostly derived from the Lhasa Terrane to the north with recycling of pre‐Cenozoic sediments, containing zircons that experienced post‐magmatic cooling after the Indian–Asian collision and buried deeply later by the Oligocene–Miocene Kailas Formation. The ZFT analysis from the Kailas Formation illustrates significant cooling during the Oligocene (ca. 32 Ma) in the source region, indicating that the Gangdese magmatic arc rocks were eroded rapidly during that time. The alternate increasing and decreasing of the southernmost Gangdese magmatic arc progresses are linked to dynamic topography deflection induced by the northward subduction of the Indian Plate since the Oligocene and subsequent southward overturning of the Indian mantle slab. Basin subsidence and formation of the Kailas Formation seems also be driven by dynamic topography since the Oligocene. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
