Summary: India has developed its own regional navigation satellite system called the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS), also known as Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC). IRNSS/NavIC provides standard positioning and timing services for civilians and restricted services for authorized users. In this paper, single point positioning is implemented on the NavIC receiver data. Estimation techniques of the least squares method and extended Kalman filter are implemented after applying broadcast‐based clock corrections, orbit computation, relative time correction, and ionosphere delay correction for single and dual frequency. A data extraction and storage module is developed to store computed parameters at every intermediate stage in separate files. This is followed by an error plotter module to plot the extracted parameters for each satellite and to separately analyze their performance and the obtained errors. The estimated receiver position is visualized on Google Earth. The absolute error in both estimation techniques ranges between 5 and 15 m throughout the period. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The irregularities formed over the equatorial ionospheric region over the Indian sector have been studied for the first time for the day of the most intense geomagnetic storm of solar cycle-24, which occurred on 17.03.2015, using Rate of TEC Index (ROTI) as the index for the study. These values have been derived using the measurements done with the TEC network receivers of the Indian SBAS system, GAGAN. Spatial and temporal variations of ROTI have been observed and compared to the same parameters on a quiet day with occurrence of nominal scintillation. The latitudinal symmetry of the irregularities for a given local time was evident. It has been found that the ionospheric irregularities formed over this region get immensely enhanced due to the storm in terms of its intensity and spatial extent, as well. The temporal spread of the irregularities has been observed and the statistical variations of the occurrences were compared with respect to those on quiet days. The results have provided few interesting observations including an understanding of the profundity and extensiveness of the irregularities and of the possibilities of consequent scintillation for the navigation signal over Indian region during space weather induced intense geomagnetic disturbances. Paraquat emerges as a formidable medical dilemma in Southeast Asia, its toxic effects attributed to the generation of free radicals and oxidative stress, with a specific predilection for diverse tissues, most notably the lungs. The scarcity of effective treatment modalities in resource-constrained settings magnifies the magnitude of the paraquat poisoning predicament. This report outlines the successful management of a 25-year-old man who ingested a lethal dose of paraquat. The patient presented solely with dysphagia devoid of accompanying symptoms, regardless of ingesting a fatal quantity of paraquat. The diagnosis was made based on history and a thorough clinical examination. Early, aggressive treatment with pulse therapy of steroids and antioxidants led to unexpected and quirky recovery.
