Legg Calve Perthes disease is a pediatric hip condition that leads to early hip degeneration. The efficacy of operative and nonoperative treatment is not well defined in the literature. Using the rate of total hip arthroplasty as a surrogate measure for symptomatic hip degeneration, the rate of total hip arthroplasty was compared in Legg Calve Perthes disease patients with and without previous surgical intervention in the province of Manitoba, Canada. A retrospective review was conducted using de-identified, individual-level administrative records of health services for the entire population of Manitoba. Codes for Legg Calve Perthes disease, femoral osteotomies, pelvic osteotomies, adductor tenotomies, and total hip arthroplasty were searched from 1984 to 2018. The rate of total hip arthroplasty in patients with Legg Calve Perthes disease was determined for two groups: (1) patients with earlier surgical intervention and (2) patients with no previous surgical intervention. Of the 202 patients included in the study, 180 had no prior surgery and 22 had prior surgery. The rate of total hip arthroplasty between the previous operative and nonoperative groups was found to be 32% and 40%, respectively (p = 0.458). There was no significant difference in rates of total hip arthroplasty in the operative and nonoperative groups. Further prospective studies are required to elucidate the differences in outcomes between operative and nonoperative treatment groups in patients with Legg Calve Perthes disease.

This paper explores the role of environmental consequences, perceived barriers, policy interventions, public opinions, and knowledge and awareness in using electric vehicles (EVs). We collected 506 responses about their intention to use the EVs to develop our hypothesis. This study uses knowledge and awareness of the EVs as mediating variables towards adopting the EVs and consumers' residences as moderating variables. It also introduces several control variables in this proposed research model to measure the effect on the intention to use the EVs. In this research study, we test the importance-performance map analysis and check Cohen's f[sup.2] to identify a better output. The measurement and structural equation modelling results show that the environmental consequences are a stronger predictor of intention and policy interventions. The findings suggest that government policies can also have an attractive position in the EV segment. In addition, knowledge and awareness mediate the adoption of the EVs. Perceived barriers do not influence consumers to use an EV in India. We test the moderating role of residence with our construct and find a partial moderation role with policy intervention and public opinion. We introduce three self-created constructs, i.e., intention to use, knowledge, and public opinion. Public opinion for the EVs supports consumers' intention to use, and knowledge also plays a significant role in using EVs. These newly added constructs will be essential to manufacturers and policymakers while promoting EVs. Also, environmental consequences and policy interventions emerge as significant factors of user behaviour. The paper highlights the critical predictors of consumers' intention to use the EVs. This study investigates the impact of parasocial relationships and self-disclosure by social media influencers on brand image in the premium cosmetics market, with brand attitude as a mediator. Data are collected from 525 respondents in the Delhi NCR region of India through a survey. We employ structural equation modeling to analyze the relationships. The results indicate that parasocial relationships between influencers and their followers positively influence brand attitude, significantly mediating the indirect effect on brand image. However, influencers' self-disclosure does not have a significant direct impact on brand image. The reason for this study is to use the Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) model to investigate how organizational support and coaching style affect work-life balance, psychological well-being and the effect they have on athlete retention. The data were analyzed using SEM. It consisted of 278 professional athletes in Jakarta and Medan. Therefore, the findings indicate that organizational support can significantly influence both work-life balance and psychological well-being, which are critical indices of retention. While coaching style positively affects psychological well-being, it has no direct impact on work-life balance. Therefore, holistic support strategies that go beyond performance-based programs are essential for sports organizations to address the mental health problems faced by athletes. This study employs structural equation modelling and a 5-point Likert scale to examine the relationship among Digital Transformation, Collaborative Innovation, and Sustainable Entrepreneurship. Utilising Variance Inflation Factors (VIF) for collinearity assessment, the inner model demonstrates stable construct relationships despite moderate VIF values. When collinearity is evaluated using Variance Inflation Factors (VIF), the inner model shows robust construct correlations even with moderate VIF values. The results of path coefficient analysis show that collaborative innovation and digital transformation have a major, beneficial impact on sustainable entrepreneurship. The psychometric assessments ensure the reliability and validity of the constructs in the measurement model. The model selection of the study based upon Bayesian Information Criterion (BIC), sustains the efficacy of models, incorporating Collaborative Innovation and Sustainable Development by accentuating their critical charities to accomplish a frugal and effective model fit, vibrant for understanding multifarious phenomena. Specifically, f-square values highlight the practical significance of effect size measurements. Overall, this study offers a clear knowledge of the connections between these important concepts, which will be helpful for practitioners and policymakers as they promote sustainable entrepreneurship through collaborative innovation and digital transformation. Introduction: Recent advancements in surgical techniques have led to renewed interest in ACL repair, particularly for acute, proximal tears. Suture tape augmentation (STA) has emerged as a promising technique to support ACL healing while preserving native tissue and potentially improving outcomes. This study aims to evaluate the outcomes of ACL repair with STA in patients with acute, proximal ACL tears. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed patients who underwent ACL repair with STA between June 2018 and October 2020. Inclusion criteria were acute (< 6 weeks) ACL rupture, Sherman type I tears, and minimum follow-up of 3 years. Exclusion criteria included mid-substance or distal ACL tears and previous knee surgeries. Clinical evaluation involved stability tests, PROMs, and gait analysis using Prokin WalkerView. Second-look arthroscopy and histological analysis were conducted on a subset of patients. Results: Twelve consecutive patients (7 males and 5 females) with a mean age of 27.4 ± 7.9 years and mean BMI of 23.3 ± 1.6 kg/m2 were included. Time to operation was 19.5 ± 8.7 days. Mean follow-up duration was 53.2 ± 9.4 months. One patient experienced a traumatic re-rupture. One had a contralateral ACL tear and one experienced hardware irritation. Clinical tests were negative for instability in all patients. Post-operative IKDC, Lysholm, and FJS-12 scores showed significant improvement (p < 0.001). All patients (100%) achieved minimal clinically important difference for all PROMs. Walking gait analysis revealed high symmetry indices for range of motion (93.50%) and step length (95.80%) with near symmetrical loading. Second-look arthroscopy showed intact repairs with healthy tissue morphology and integration. Histology revealed increased cellularity, high nuclear density, and preservation of vascular and neural components indicated by CD34 and S-100 markers. Conclusions: Arthroscopic ACL repair with STA provides favourable clinical, functional, and histological outcomes with low re-rupture rates when performed on acute, proximal ACL tears. This technique demonstrates fair-to-good PROMs, functional stability, and near-normal gait parameters. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
