Health promotion in schools is a strategic step in improving public health. This is because health promotion through the school community is quite effective in increasing public awareness in carrying out clean and healthy living behaviors. School age is very good for providing education and understanding about Clean and Healthy Life Behavior (PHBS), one of which is education about nutrition. Optimal nutrition intake, both in terms of quantity and quality, is very important for optimal growth and development. For this reason, our diet needs to be improved towards the consumption of balanced nutrition. Balanced nutrition is a balanced diet of daily food that contains nutrients in the type and amount according to the body's needs. The purpose of the activity is to create students, teachers and the school environment community to implement PHBS, create a healthy, clean and comfortable school environment, be able to improve education in schools, create health services in schools that can be put to good use, especially nutrition action. The method used is the lecture method via whatsapp, poster installation, question and answer and group discussion. The results of the health education activities were approximately 67 participants. The counseling participants looked enthusiastic when the material was given. Participants participated in the counseling happily because the counseling was carried out in a fun way. The counseling activity was conducive because the participants paid attention to the material presented well. This is evidenced by the number of participants who are interested in answering questions during the question and answer session. Keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (K3) merupakan sistem yang melindungi pekerja, perusahaan, lingkungan hidup, dan masyarakat sekitar dari bahaya akibat kecelakaan kerja. Keselamatan dan kesehatan pemilik serta pegawai saling berhubungan erat dengan keefektifan kerja, sehingga sangat penting sekali untuk dijaga dan dipelihara. Penerapan keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja sangat penting khususnya pada perusahaan yang berkaitan secara langsung dengan bidang produksi. Aksesoris Sangkar Burung Kiara G.357 merupakan salah satu usaha home industri, dimana usaha tersebut beroprasi sejak tahun 1990 an hingga saat ini. Kondisi pandemi Covid-19 ini juga tidak memudarkan semangat pemilik beserta karyawan pengelolanya untuk terus produktif menjalankan usaha tersebutn. Tujuan kegiatan adalah memberikan edukasi untuk Menjelaskan tentang kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja khususnya penggunaan APD dalam upaya mencegah resiko kerja di home industri. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah melalui pemutaran video, ceramah, dan diskusi serta tanya jawab. Hasil yang dicapai setelah dilakukan pendidikan kesehatan melalui penyuluhan, para peserta menyatakan dapat mengetahui dan memahami serta mengungkapkan kembali tentang kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja khususnya penggunaan APD dalam upaya mencegah resiko kerja di home industri. The safety and health of owners and employees are closely related to work effectiveness, so it is very important to protect and maintain them. The application of occupational safety and health is very important, especially in companies that are directly related to the production sector. Kiara G.357 Bird Cage Accessories is one of the home industry businesses, where the business has been operating since the 1990s until now. The condition of the Covid-19 pandemic has also not dampened the enthusiasm of the owners and their managing employees to continue to be productive in running the business. The purpose of the activity is to provide education to explain occupational health and safety, especially the use of PPE in an effort to prevent work risks in the home industry. The method used in this activity is through video screenings, lectures, and discussions as well as questions and answers. The results achieved after health education was carried out through counseling, the participants stated that they could know and understand and reveal again about occupational health and safety, especially the use of PPE in an effort to prevent work risks in the home industry. Post-stroke patients who have disabilities will lose independence and become dependent on others. The role of the family is significant in helping patients meet psychological, social and spiritual needs. In addition, the family plays a role in recovery and optimizing the client’s motor skills. A family member is the primary support system of direct service providers in every situation. This study aimed to examine the relationship between knowledge, self-efficacy and family skills in doing a range of motion exercises post-stroke.Methods: Correlational research method with a Cross-Sectional Study approach with post-stroke client family research samples was taken in total sampling with 55 respondents. Analysis using bivariate analysis with Spearman’s-rho correlation test.Results: The results showed that family knowledge was above average with a Median value of 15.00 (IQR = 2), family self-efficacy was above average with a Mean value of 51.47 (SD = 11.67), and family skills were above average with a mean value of 7.73 (SD = 2.70).Discussion: The results of bivariate analysis stated that there was a relationship between family knowledge and family skills in doing a range of motion exercises with p-value = 0.00 (r = 0.613), and there was a relationship between family self-efficacy and family skills in doing a range of motion exercises with p-value = 0.00 (r = 0.497). This research has implications for community nurses to provide interventions and enhance visite to family members with post-stroke.Keywords: knowledge, range of motion, self-efficacy, skills, stroke

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced universities to change their teaching and learning activities using online methods, which can impact students' stress problems, including undergraduate nursing students. This study aims to identify the relationship between stress levels and sleep disorders among nursing students in online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. A cross-sectional study included 253 nursing students from the Faculty of Nursing at Universitas Padjadjaran between 2018 and 2021, and completed the Student Nurse Stress Index (SNSI) questionnaire and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire from June 2022 to July 2022. Dementia is a collection of symptoms that occurs progressively with cognitive decline marked by change in behavior, decreased memory or remembrance, orientation, difficulty in communication and making decisions that will affect normal social and occupational activities. The decline that will occur in the elderly can cause problems such as long-term memory and information processing, the elderly will have difficulty in re-expressing incidents or events experienced. This research aimed to determine whether there is a relationship between dementia status and the dependency level of elderly in fulfillment of ADL (activity of daily living) at Tresna Werdha Social Home. The type of this research was descriptive correlational with cross sectional approach, the total sampling technique with a sample of 60 elderly in PSTW. The research instrument used a 3MS questionnaire (Modified Mini Mental State Test) and Barthel Indeks. Univariate analysis used frequency and percentage and bivariate analysis used the Chi Square test. In this research, the result obtained that respondents experienced moderate dementia with a percentage (53.3%) and most of the ADL needs of partial dependence elderly with a percentage (46.7%). There was a significant relationship between dementia and the dependency level of elderly in fulfillment of ADL (activity of daily living) at PSTW with sig. (significant) = 0.000 (P Value≤0.05). With this relationship can create better nursing services for the elderly so as not to experience a decline in cognitive function early and be able to meet their ADL needs.

Stunting remains a public health concern in developing countries. Factors related to stunting have been categorized using various frameworks. Family plays an important role in providing nutrients for children; however, no review specifies this aspect for identifying family characteristics related to stunting. This study aimed to identify family household characteristics related to stunting among children aged less than 5 years. A scoping review was undertaken with sources from PubMed, CINAHL, and Scopus, using the keywords “family characteristics” AND “growth”. Inclusion criteria were (1) correlational study; (2) published between 2018 and 31 July 2022; (3) families with children under the age of 5 years; and (4) independent variable any measure of stunting factors from family and household factors. Of 376 articles, only 20 met the inclusion criteria of the study. The family household characteristics included individual factors (sex age, history of diarrhea, and birthplace), family factors (family headship, primary caregiver/mother, social-cultural orientation, and family system factors), and environmental factors. Various child variables, family factors, and environmental factors (the type of home, floor type, water access, source of drinking water, and household electricity) were identified as being associated with stunting. Therefore, these factors should be evaluated to prevent and control stunting, and they should be incorporated into health programs targeting stunting.

Constipation among the elderly living in long-stay institutions in Ciparay BandungBackground: Constipation in the elderly occurs because of physiological changes in the body that are also supported by poor health behavior. The reduced risk of constipation when the elderly apply healthy lifestyle modifications.Purpose: To describe the constipation occurrence among the elderly living in long-stay institutions in Ciparay BandungMethod: A descriptive quantitative that involved 38 elderly, selected by purposive sampling technique with inclusion criteria, which are communicative elderly, have a good cognitive condition (MMSE score 23-30). The instrument used a questionnaire sheet and data analysis used univariate frequency distribution.Results: The finding of 57.9% of respondents had good prevention of constipation. The percentage in each sub-variable shows that 55.3% of respondents had good physical activity, 50% of respondents had good dietary habits, and 57.9% of respondents had good defecation habits.Conclusion: The results of the study show that over 50% of the elderly are still under the control of constipation problems. Suggestions for the management of long-stay institutions in Ciparay Bandung, to continue observation risk constipation and prevent to provide information and motivation promotion especially in physical activity and eating habits with Group Activity Therapy.Keywords: Constipation; Elderly; Physical activity; Eating habits; LifestylePendahuluan: Konstipasi pada lansia terjadi karena adanya perubahan fisiologis tubuh yang juga didukung oleh perilaku kesehatan yang kurang baik. Konstipasi dapat dicegah jika lansia melakukan modifikasi gaya hidup sehat.Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui gambaran perilaku pencegahan konstipasi pada lansia di Panti Sosial Rehabilitasi Lanjut Usia dan Pemeliharaan Makam Pahlawan (PSRLU-PMP) Ciparay Bandung.Metode: Penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan melibatkan 38 lansia yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan kriteria inklusi, yaitu lansia yang komunikatif, memiliki kondisi kognitif yang baik (skor MMSE 23-30), dan bersedia menjadi responden penelitian. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar kuesioner yang dibuat berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan telah dilakukan uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Analisis data yang digunakan berupa perhitungan distribusi frekuensi.Hasil: Sebanyak 57,9% responden memiliki perilaku pencegahan konstipasi yang baik. Adapun persentase pada setiap sub variabel menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 55,3% responden berada pada kategori aktivitas fisik yang baik, sebanyak 50% responden berada pada kategori kebiasaan diet yang baik, dan sebanyak 57,9% responden berada pada kategori kebiasaan defekasi yang baik.Simpulan: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lebih dari 50% lansia masih terkendali masalah sembelit. Saran bagi pengelola panti rawat inap di Ciparay Bandung, untuk melanjutkan observasi risiko sembelit dan pencegahan untuk memberikan informasi dan promosi motivasi terutama dalam aktivitas fisik dan kebiasaan makan dengan cara yang benar melalui Terapi Aktifitas Kelompok

BACKGROUND: Nurses’ duties and responsibilities related to the risk of transmitting COVID-19. Studies that explore nurses’ feelings and perspectives in providing health services at COVID-19 referral hospitals, especially in developing countries like Indonesia, are limited. AIM: This study aims to explore nurses’ feelings, perceptions, and expectations of the COVID-19 pandemic. METHODS: This qualitative study applied the qualitative descriptive design that involved 17 nurses from different hospitals in Indonesia. The semi-structured interview gathered their views of COVID-19, and the comparative analysis for interviews technique was chosen to analyze the data. RESULTS: Three themes emerged from the data analysis. The themes were nurses’ express psychological responses in facing the COVID-19 pandemic such as fear, surrender, panic, and calmness. Other two themes included the COVID 19 pandemic enhances nurses’ health awareness and behavior, and the government protect nurses from the COVID-19 transmission and social stigma. CONCLUSION: The feelings reported dominantly by the nurse, in addition to information about health awareness, behavior, the government’s actions, and their expectations. Mental health assistance would be useful to prevent depression in nurses, and the government’s comprehensive approaches in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic would increase the protection and productivity of health workers, including nurses.

Adolescents with ASD who are living in dormitory with only the assistance of caregivers and without the presence of parents are demanded to be more independent in self-care. Complex disorders that occur in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) affect the child's self autonomy to fulfill self-care needs. This study aims to identify the description of self-care agency in adolescents with ASD who are living in dormitory of SLB “X” in Bandung District.This research used a quantitative descriptive design. The sample in this study was adolescents with ASD who are living in dormitory, used total sampling technique with the total of 35 people. The instrument of this study was Kenny Self Care Evaluation (KSCE) which was analyzed and presented in tabular form using frequency distribution in percentage.The results showed that in personal hygiene (74.3%) and toileting (71.4%) of respondents experienced total dependence. In transfer activities (77.1%), dressing (65.7%), and feeding (82.9%) of respondents needed minimal assistance or supervision. However, in activities in bed and locomotion all respondents were independent. The conclusion from this study shows that adolescents with ASD experienced the lowest level of independence where they needed total support in carrying personal hygiene and toileting activities. Thus, it is essential for school and dormitory managers to work closely with community nurses to improve adolescent's skills in self-care by providing education to both adolescents and caregivers.

Elderly are particularly vulnerable groups that is prone to experiencing a decline in health related to a physiological decline. Vulnerability such as changes in structure of blood vessel walls lead to increased incidence of hypertension. Moreover, in uncontrolled conditions, elderly with hypertension can suffer symptoms of sleeping disorder, changes of sleep pattern that triggers the increasing of blood pressure and affect sleep quality. The purpose of this descriptive quantitative research was to describe the sleep quality of elderly with hypertension based on seven components of sleep quality assessment. The research design used a descriptive quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. The study was conducted at Ciparay and Garut Elderly Social Rehabilitation Centre, with number of the sample obtained 37 elderlies who were elected by total sampling technique. The result of this study showed that 89,2% of respondents had poor sleep quality. Several conditions that stimulate poor sleep quality in the elderly come from high blood pressure which causes sleep disturbances, thereby changing several sleep components such as short sleep duration less than 6 hours, sleep latency 15-30 minutes, decreased sleep efficiency below 85%, and activity dysfunction in daytime. Future research is expected to be able to modify sleep quality measuring instruments that are specifically used to measure the quality of sleep for people with hypertension.

IntroductionNovel Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) has been a major health issue in the world including Indonesia. This disease spread very fast in Indonesia with 1,298,608 positive cases and 35,405 people died. Self-assessment of COVID-19 and self-reporting of risks of infection are important to reduce infection in the community. However, there is also a need to perform physical distancing to reduce the spread of the disease. Thus, telehealth is considered a means to educate people about the importance of self-assessment and self-reporting of Covid-19 signs and symptoms. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of telehealth collaboration between academic, health provider, and community towards people’s participation for COVID-19 self-assessment and self-reporting in West Java, Indonesia. Methods This study used a prospective cohort design with a time frame from 7th April to 13th July 2020. The samples were people in 26 sub-districts in West Java Province Indonesia. A Total of 6,578 people reported their condition through a website system. The telehealth was performed by 63 nursing students and 16 nursing lecturers in collaboration and partnership with health providers in community health centres and community leaders in 26-sub-districts. The 26 sub-districts comprised 3 groups with different levels of engagement: the first group consisted of 9 sub-district with a low level of telehealth engagement, second group 7 sub-district with a moderate level of telehealth engagement, and the third group 10 sub-districts with a high level of telehealth engagement. Data were analysed using one-way ANOVA test. Results The results showed that in the first group, 354 people were self-reported (mean=39.33). In the second group 1,111 people were self-reported (mean= 158.7). In the third group, 5,118 people were self-reported (mean= 511.8). The one-way ANOVA test showed that there is a significant difference between the three groups (F = 9.117; p=0.001).DiscussionCollaboration and partnership between academics, health providers, and community leaders have been proven can improve people’s participation in COVID-19 self-reporting. Telehealth is an effective way to facilitate collaboration and partnership. However, in some areas of this study, telehealth is not optimal due to limited phone signals and limited people who owned smartphones. ConclusionsTele-health is effective as one alternative to reach out and educate people about the importance of self-reporting of COVID-19 signs and symptoms. Nurses and health professionals in community health centres can use telehealth in addition to direct face-to-face interaction. Lessons learned Collaboration and partnership are important during pandemic COVID-19. Tele-health can become one of the means to reach out to educate people.Limitations Due to the circumstances during the early days of the pandemic, this study used a prospective cohort design, so that all activities were conducted without any efforts to control the samples. Suggestions for future researchFurther research can be conducted with a randomized controlled trial design and qualitative design to explore influencing factors for the people’s participation.

Introduction: This study aims to assess the palliative care nursing (PCN) knowledge and attitude of nursing students toward end-of-life care (EoLC) after completing the multi-methods PCN courses. Methods: A quasi-experimental study with a pre-and post-palliative survey was conducted. One hundred and sixty five nursing students from a faculty of nursing in Indonesia were enrolled, and knowledge and attitude were assessed using the palliative care quiz for nurses (PCQN) and the Frommelt Attitude Toward Care of the Dying and Death (FATCOD). Paired t-test and ANOVA were applied in this study. Results: After being involved in the PCN course, the mean score of PCN knowledge of the students increased significantly (p < 0.001). According to sub-domain analysis, the knowledge increased significantly in pain and symptom management (p < 0.001) and not significantly in the domains of theory and principle of the palliative, psychosocial, and spiritual care (p = 0.053; p = 0.080). Moreover, students’ attitude toward EoLC also increased significantly (p < 0.001), and positive attitudes increased from 75.6% to 91.5%. According to the ANOVA test, knowledge in two different groups (witnessed dying people and GPA) is not statistically meaningful (FWDP (1158) = 0.817, p = 0.367; FGPA (2.158) = 1.143, p = 0.322). Similarly, attitudes toward EoLC in two different groups are not statistically meaningful (FWD (1158) = 0.971. p = 0.326, FGPA (1157) = 1.278, p = 0.281). Conclusion: PCN courses with multi-method learning and teaching are effective to increase PCN knowledge, particularly in pain and symptom management knowledge, and also effective in increasing the positive attitudes toward EoLC.

Violence against children can cause psychological problems such as post-traumatic syndrome disorder (PTSD). The negative impact of violence on children is psychological and physical problems and risk of suicide. Nurses have a role to provide comprehensive nursing care such as cognitive behavior therapy for reducing PTSD symptoms. The purpose of this study was to describe the methods of cognitive behavior therapy to reduce symptoms of PTSD in children who are victims of violence. This study used the scoping review method. The databases use for the literature review in this study were CINAHL, PubMed, and Scopus. The keywords used in English were “cognitive behavioral therapy OR CBT” AND “violence OR abuse” AND “post-traumatic stress disorder OR PTSD” AND “child OR children”. The inclusion criteria were full text, randomized control trial or quasi-experimental research design, English language, the sample was children, and the publication period was for the last 10 years (2013–2022). We found 10 articles discussing CBT intervention on children who experienced victim abuse to reduce symptoms of PTSD. Most of the articles in this study used randomized control trial design. Several samples in this study are from the USA. The total sample was 47–320 respondents. This study showed three methods of CBT, namely psychoeducation, self-management, and coping strategies. CBT interventions can be carried out face-to-face or online. The activities carried out by the participants were relaxing, participating in training, counseling, problem-solving discussions, and therapy to improve sleep quality. Cognitive behavioral therapy is an intervention that can be carried out to reduce the traumatic impact on child victims of violence by taking into account the characteristics and development of the children.

Introduction: Foot care behavior is an important component in the prevention of diabetic feet, but most DM sufferees ignore this. Factors that influence the foot care behavior in people with diabetes mellitus, namely age, sex, education, knowledge, income and duration of diabetes. The purpose of this research was to determine the description of foot care behavior and the factors that influence foot care at Bayongbong Health Center. Method: This Research conducted using quantitative approach. The population in this research amounted to 35 respondents using total sampling technique. The instrument used was questionnaire which included: demographic data, health characteristics, knowledge and foot care behavior using the Nothingham Assessment of Functional Foot care (NAFF) questionnaire. Result: The result showed that most of the respondents had poor foot care behavior and almost half were in the vulnerable pre-elderly age 45-59 years with the sex of mostly women with an education level almost half elementary school, most of the income of respondents was > 1.8 M with the duration of suffering DM was mostly ≥ 3 years old and most respondents had good knowledge. Conclusion: From the result of the research, there needs to be education related to foot care that is more specific and more emphasized about the importance of good behavior in foot care, while the behaviors that need to be improved are foot hygiene, foot examination, footwear selection, prevention and management of injuries.

The Primary prevention and healthy lifestyles among non diabetic members of familial type 2 diabetic Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is one of the diseases that tends to have the increasing rate of incidence. DM can be prevented through preventive and mitigating measures of risk factors that can cause DM, especially in someone who has a history of DM on family members. Purpose: Describing the primary prevention and healthy lifestyles among non diabetic members of familial type 2 diabetic at Public Health Centre ( Puskesmas ) the work area of Tarogong, west Java Indonesia. Methods : A quantitative descriptive with consecutive sampling which was conducted on 138 respondents from the population of 210 family members of patients with DM. Data collection techniques were conducted by using questionnaires to find out and measure DM prevention by healthy lifestyles. The data are grouped into categories of good and poor that were analyzed using descriptive statistics based on the mean value of the questionnaire. Results : Finding that all respondents (88.4%) was in good category in DM prevention by healthy lifestyles. While the behavior of prevention of DM seen from the diet most of the respondents are in good category (61.6%), physical activity almost entirely in good category (91.3%), weight control mostly in category poor (55.1%), smoking habit almost entirely in category (86.2%), and stress management is almost entirely in good category (87.7%). Conclusion: The small percentage of respondents are still lacking of the information about DM, thus becoming poor aware of the importance in doing DM prevention behavior by healthy lifestyles. This happens because most of the respondents have not yet received the necessary information about DM disease. Therefore, it is recommended that the Public Health Centre ( Puskesmas ) or other local facilities provide information about DM disease not only to the patients but also to their family members. DM dapat dicegah melalui tindakan pencegahan dan penanggulangan dari faktor resiko yang dapat menyebabkan DM. Resiko DM lebih besar terjadi pada anggota keluarga yang mempunyai riwayat DM. Tujuan: Mengidentifikasi gambaran perilaku pencegahan primer pada anggota keluarga dengan DM di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Tarogong. Metode: Deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menggunakan consecutive sampling yang dilakukan pada 138 responden dari jumlah populasi 210 anggota keluarga penderita DM. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner untuk mengukur perilaku pencegahan DM serta data dikelompokkan ke dalam kategori baik dan buruk yang dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif berdasarkan nilai mean kuesioner. Hasil: Didapatkan hampir seluruhnya responden (88.4%) berada pada kategori baik dalam perilaku pencegahan DM. Sedangkan perilaku pencegahan DM dilihat dari pola makan sebagian besar responden berada pada kategori baik (61.6%), aktivitas fisik hampir seluruhnya pada kategori baik (91.3%), pengontrolan berat badan sebagian besar pada kategori buruk (55.1%), kebiasaan pengendalikan perilaku merokok hampir seluruhnya pada kategori baik (86.2%), dan pengelolaan stres hampir seluruhnya pada kategori baik (87.7%). Simpulan: Sebagian kecil responden masih buruk dalam melakukan perilaku pencegahan DM. Hal ini terjadi karena sebagian besar responden belum semuanya mendapatkan informasi tentang penyakit DM. Disarankan agar pihak Puskesmas dapat memberikan informasi mengenai penyakit DM tidak hanya pada pasien yang menderita tetapi anggota keluarganya pun perlu diberikan.

Jumlah penduduk lanjut usia di Indonesia tahun 2014 mencapai 18,8 juta jiwa dan pada pada tahun 2025 akan mencapai 36 juta jiwa. Seiring meningkatnya usia, perubahan fungsi kognitif pada lansia juga mengalami peningkatan. Gangguan fungsi kognitif pada lansia dapat menyebabkan perubahan kepribadian, emosi, dan mengganggu aktivitas sehari – hari, apabila berlangsung secara progresif maka dapat terjadi demensia dan perubahan psikososial seperti depresi. Dengan diketahuinya status demensia dan depresi pada lansia di masyarakat dapat digunakan sebagai data dasar dalam mengembangkan program yang berhubungan dengan kesehatan lansia di masyarakat. Penelititian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran status demensia dan depresi pada lansia di masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuatitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan kuisioner Modified Mini Mental State Test (3MS) dan Geriatric Scale Depression (GDS) pada responden 112 lansia yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik random sampling di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Guntur Kelurahan Sukamentri Garut. Analisis menggunakan statistik deskritif dengan distribusi frekuensi. Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan dengan kategori demensia ringan, yaitu sebanyak 55 responden (49,1%), dengan kategori demensia sedang sebanyak 45 responden (37,5%), sedangkan kategori demensia berat sedang sebanyak 15 responden (13,4%). Hasil penelitian status depresi dalam kategori normal sebanyak 32 responden (28,6%), kategori depresi ringan sebanyak 45 responden (40.2%), kategori depresi sedang sebanyak 23 responden (20,5 %) dan kategori depresi berat sebanyak 12 responden (10,7%). Petugas kesehatan diharapkan dapat menjadikan hasil penelitian ini sebagai dasar dalam mengembangkan program kegiatan kesehatan lansia seperti posbindu pada lansia dengan memberikan penyuluhan berupa informasi dan edukasi terkait demensia dan depresi, membina lansia dalam menjaga fungsi kognitif dan psikososialnya (olahraga, membaca buku, kegiatan keterampilan).

Diabetes mellitus adalah salah satu peningkatan jumlah penyakit kronis di dunia. Provinsi Jawa Barat juga memiliki prevalensi peningkatan 1,4% di tahun 2007 menjadi 2% pada tahun 2013 dan memiliki jumlah penderita paling banyak yang merasakan gejala diabetes melitus, namun belum pernah diteliti yaitu sekitar 225 ribu orang (Riskesdas, 2013). Pasien Diabetes Mellitus berisiko mengalami komplikasi makrovaskular dan mikrovaskuler yang dapat menurunkan kualitas hidup. Upaya pencegahan dari komplikasi dapat dilihat dari kebutuhan perawatan yang diharapkan pasien Diabetes Mellitus dengan mengidentifikasi keyakinan kesehatan dan permasalahan dari sisi pasien. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi keyakinan kesehatan dan permasalahan pasien Diabetes Mellitus di kota Bandung. Responden penelitian adalah 121 pasien Diabetes Melitus di kota Bandung yang diambil dengan cara purposive dari 10 Prolanis tertinggi di kota Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan menggunakan 4 kuesioner yaitu karakteristik kesehatan, pengetahuan tentang Diabetes Mellitus, keyakinan kesehatan, permasalahan kesehatan pada pasien Diabetes Melitus. Kuesioner yang digunakan berdasarkan penelitian dan dianalisis dengan statistic deskriptif. Hasil penelitian adalah pengetahuan (M = 14,65, SD = 13,35), keyakinan kesehatan tentang Diabetes Mellitus (M = 71,79, SD = 10, 14), permasalahan pada Diabetes (M = 43,54, SD = 13, 35). Temuan dari penilaian kebutuhan ini mengarah pada perencanaan dan penyampaian program komprehensif dan terintegrasi bagi pasien dengan Diabetes.

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is one of chronic diseases resulting from decreased insulin production and is characterized by an increase in glucose in the blood. Dietary adherence is one of the effective managements that can control blood sugar levels. This management requires supporting factors and one of them is motivation. This research aimed to describe the motivation and dietary compliance of patients with type 2 DM at the working area of Puskesmas Padalarang. This quantitative descriptive research used a cross-sectional approach. The samples were selected using proportional random sampling techniques. This study used the Treatment Self-Regulation Questionnaire (TSRQ) with the validity score 0.4821 and a diet adherence questionnaire with the validity score 0.4732. The results showed that the internal motivation of respondents was a good internal motivation with 33.3% and 66.7% had low motivation. Only 2.2% had good external motivation and almost all respondents had a low external motivation with 97.8%. Meanwhile, there were only 3.3% with a good level of adherence, 94.4% with a sufficient level of adherence and 2.2% had a poor level of diet adherence. Therefore, it is expected for Puskesmas to implement more motivational interviewing therapy to increase motivation and diet adherence in type 2 DM patients.

Hypertension is a non-communicable disease and has a risk of heart disease. Hypertension can be managed by doing physical activity. Physical activity can control blood pressure in hypertensive clients. The purpose of this research was to identify the overview of the biological activities of hypertensive clients at the Guntur Community Health Centre in Garut Regency.The research type was a quantitative descriptive with the study population of hypertensive patients who were registered at Guntur Community Health Centre. The sampling method in this research was a total sampling method, and the total number of this study was 118 hypertensive patients. This research instrument used the long form of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire with a number of 25 questions and consisted of 4 activity domains. The data were processed using the analysis of distribution frequency and percentage. The results showed as many as 100 respondents (84.7%) did a mild physical activity, and none did moderate physical activity, and as many as 18 respondents (15.3%) did a strenuous physical activity. From the research results, it can be concluded that most of the respondents did a mild physical activity. The implication of this research is to provide health education about appropriate physical activity for hypertensive clients at Guntur Health Center.

Background. This study aims to analyze the effect of exercise and learning therapy on the cognitive functions and daily physical activities of older people with dementia in Indonesia. Methods. This was an experimental study with a pretest-posttest design and a control group. Samples were selected using nonrandom sampling methods and were then randomly assigned to intervention and control groups. The study population was older people with mild-to-moderate dementia, and the sample number was 90 people. The intervention group received an Indonesian physical exercise program for older people and reading therapy through 12 sessions over four weeks. The intervention was led by a community health volunteer who has been trained and certified. Results. The mean score for cognitive function in the intervention group showed significant increase between pre- and postintervention, with p value < 0. 001 , and there was no significant difference in the control group before and after intervention, with a p value of 0. 198 . Further, the Mann–Whitney test showed that there were significant differences in the mean scores for cognitive function between the intervention and control groups with p value < 0. 001 and a 95% confidence level. Conclusion. Based on the results, the Indonesian older people exercise program and reading aloud activity had a positive effect on the cognitive function of older people with dementia.

As health service providers, nurses are at a high risk of COVID-19 infection, as are their family members who live with them. This study aimed to explore nurses’ actions to protect their families from COVID-19 in Indonesia. This qualitative descriptive study included seventeen nurses who were chosen using the snowball sampling technique. The semi structured interviews explored nurses’ actions and behavior, and comparative analysis was performed to analyze the data. The study identified four themes: nurses modified their behavior and environments to protect their families, provided supplements and nutritious food, enhanced their families’ knowledge and awareness of COVID-19, and protected their families from social stigma. Nurses play active roles in the health of their family members. The government should support nurses in their roles so that they can remain healthy while caring for COVID-19 patients, and not transmit COVID-19 to their own families.

Penelitian yang berkualitas diawali dengan pembuatan protokol yang terperinci, jelas, dan lengkap. Namun panduan penulisan protokol penelitian yang bersifat komprehensif dan terperinci yang dapat memandu peneliti dalam menulis protokol masih terbatas. Tujuan penelitian ini mendesiminasikan berbagai protokol penelitian dari berbagai sumber yang valid dan merekomendasikan komponen dan langkah penulisan protokol penelitian berdasarkan hasil analisis dan integrasi artikel yang telah dipublikasikan. Peneliti mengaplikasikan pendekatan scoping review dengan enam tahapan utama yaitu identifikasi masalah, mengidentifikasi sumber literatur, seleksi literatur, pemetaan dan mengumpulkan literatur, menyusun dan melaporkan hasil, dan konsultasi kepada pihak kompeten. Seleksi literatur menggunakan pendekatan PRISMA dengan menganalisis lima artikel tentang protokol penelitian. Hasil analisis menunjukkan rincian komponen dan tahapan penulisan protokol berbeda-beda, namun pada intinya terdiri atas komponen berikut; tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan penelitian, tahap pelaporan dan publikasi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, peneliti merekomendasikan sistematika penulisan protokol penelitian dengan Pendekatan SETPRO sebagai hasil analisis dan integrasi tahapan penulisan protokol sebelumnya. Pendekatan SETPRO merupakan pendekatan komprehensif dalam penulisan protokol penelitian, terdiri dari 16 komponen yang mencakup semua aspek penelitian. Melalui pendekatan SETPRO ini diharapkan protokol penelitian yang dibuat akan semakin berkualitas

Strategi DOTS direkomendasikan oleh WHO sejak tahun 1995 untuk penanggulangan penyakit TB. Keberhasilan pelaksanaan DOTS di masyarakat perlu melibatkan peran petugas kesehatan, keluarga, dan kader komunitas yang telah mengikuti pelatihan. Keberadaan kader TB di tengah masyarakat ini diharapkan dapat membantu penanggulangan penyakit TB. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui gambaran pelaksanaan peran kader tuberkulosis pada program DOTS di Kecamatan Bandung Kulon. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Terdiri atas satu variabel dengan lima domain. Sampel dalam penelitian adalah 66 kader tuberkulosis yang telah mengikuti pelatihan. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner melalui teknik wawancara. Kuesioner yang digunakan sudah dilakukan uji validitas isi dilakukan pada tiga peneliti TB dan komunitas. Uji reliabilitas dengan Kuder Richardson formula 21 dengan nilai 0,88. Nilai uji reliabilitas instrumen 0,8. Analisis data menggunakan distribusi frekuensi yang dilakukan secara komputerisasi. Hasil penelitian sebagian besar pelaksanaan peran kader tuberkulosis dalam program DOTS dalam kategori baik sebanyak 42 responden (63,6%) dan 24 responden (36,6%) dalam kategori tidak baik. Domain sebagai pemberi penyuluhan (63,6%) dan penjaringan suspek TB (68,2%) dalam kategori baik. Akan tetapi, domain peran sebagai koordinator PMO (63,4%) dan pembimbing dan pemotivasi PMO (63,6%) dalam kategori tidak baik serta domain peran sebagai PMO (50%) dalam kategori sama baik. Berdasarkan hasil Penelitian diharapkan petugas kesehatan yang menjalani program DOTS dapat mengevaluasi dan memperbaiki aspek yang kurang dalam pelaksanaan peran kader TB.

Perilaku pencegahan Diabetes Mellitus ditentukan oleh keyakinan dan persepsi seseorang mengenai ancaman kesehatan yang dirasakan. Gaya hidup tidak sehat yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa cenderung dapat meningkatkan resiko terjadinya Diabetes Mellitus, sehingga perlu dilakukan upaya pencegahan Diabetes Mellitus. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa terhadap perilaku Pencegahan Diabetes Mellitus. Penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif ini melibatkan 242 sampel yang ditentukan menggunakan stratified random sampling . Data dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen Health Belief Model (HBM), yang terdiri dari 5 domain yaitu, persepsi kerentanan dan keseriusan, persepsi manfaat, persepsi hambatan, isyarat melakukan tindakan, dan self-efficacy . Data dianalisis dengan analisis deskriptif (frekuensi dan persentase). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa seluruh responden (100%) memiliki persepsi positif terhadap perilaku pencegahan Diabetes Mellitus. Adapun persepsi berdasarkan 5 domain didapatkan seluruh responden (100%) memiliki persepsi positif terhadap manfaat pencegahan Diabetes Mellitus, hampir seluruh responden memiliki persepsi positif terhadap kerentanan dan keseriusan (92,6%), isyarat melakukan pencegahan (98,3%), self-efficacy dalam melakukan pencegahan Diabetes Mellitus (92,6%), dan lebih dari setengah responden memiliki persepsi positif terhadap hambatan melakukan pencegahan Diabetes Mellitus (59,5%). Walaupun demikian, terdapat kurang dari setengah responden (40,5%) yang memiliki persepsi negatif terhadap hambatan, yang berarti bahwa responden tersebut merasakan adanya hambatan dalam melakukan pencegahan Diabetes Mellitus. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa seluruh responden mempersepsikan perlunya melakukan pencegahan Diabetes Mellitus. Namun, adanya hambatan dalam melakukan pencegahan Diabetes Mellitus, perlu diadakannya promosi kesehatan yang memotivasi mahasiswa untuk mengatasi hambatan yang dirasakan dalam melakukan penegahan Diabetes Mellitus. ABSTRACT Unhealthy lifestyle undertaken by students tended to increase the risk of Diabetes Mellitus, so there should be the effort to prevent Diabetes Mellitus. Prevention behaviors are determined by belief and perception about perceived of threats. This study aimed to identify student's perception towards prevention behavior of Diabetes Mellitus. This descriptive quantitative study involved 242 students were taken with stratified random sampling. Data collected by Health Belief Model (HBM) instrument that consisted of 5 domains; perceived susceptibility and severity, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, cues to action, and self-efficacy. Data analyzed with descriptive analysis (frequency and percentage). Result showed that all of respondent (100%) had positive perception towards prevention behavior of Diabetes Mellitus. The results of the perception based on 5 domains showed that all of respondent (100%) had positive perceived benefit, most of responden (92,6%) had positive perceived susceptibility and severity, cues to action (98,3%), self-efficacy (92,6%) and more than half of respondents (59,5%) had positive perceived barriers. However, less than half of respondent (40,5%) had negatively perceived barriers which indicated that respondent felt the barrier of Diabetes Mellitus prevention. To conclude, all of respondent perceived necessary to do Diabetes Mellitus prevention. Whereas, there was a barrier in Diabetes Mellitus prevention so, there should be health promotion to motivate students to overcome their perceived of the barrier to perform Diabetes Mellitus prevention

Introduction. Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus was a chronic disease have complicated. Amount of patient Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) was increased. Knowledge and self-efficacy is mainly important for self-care behavior. The purpose of this study was aimed to examine knowledge, and self-efficacy among patients with Type 2 DM in Bandung, Indonesia. Methods. The research was a quasi-experimental with pre and posttest control group. Sixty two type 2 DM were recruited from 8 working area Primary Health Centers in Bandung who have diagnosed DM, using purposive sampling technique. Knowledge questionnaire from Michigan Diabetes Research and Training Center’s Brief Diabetes Knowledge Test, Self-efficacy were measured by the developed Stanford Patients Education Research Center. Both of questionnaires comprised five dimensions: nutrition, sport and activity, drugs and glucose monitoring. Patients of in intervention group received 2 weeks Diabetes Mellitus education program be given healthcare workers. Techniques used in this program consisted of community-based education, goal setting, follow-up and face-to-face interview. Data were analyzed by independent t-test. Results. There are significantly different of knowledge and self-efficacy after community-based education program in intervention (M = 9.26, SD = 2.8 ; M = 53.26, SD = 10.50) and control group (M = 7.39, SD = 2.4; M = 36.74, SD = 4.49). This study revealed that community-based education program significantly improved self-efficacy (p=0.000) but not improved for knowledge (p=0.180). Conclusion. These findings indicated that Knowledge and Self-efficacy of type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients in Bandung required improvement. Therefore, further study regarding the effective in improving knowledge and self-efficacy type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is extremely needed.

Hypertension will often occur in the elderly due to physiological decline and stress will trigger an increase in blood pressure if it lasts a long time it will cause persistent high blood pressure This research aims to know the correlation between stress and blood pressure in elderly with hypertension at the working area of Community Health Center of Kadungora, Garut Regency This was a correlational descriptive research which used cross sectional approach and total sampling technique with 116 elderlies who suffer from hypertension. The instrument of the research was DASS (Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale) which consisted of 14 questions and used digital sphygmomanometer to measure the blood pressure. The results of this study were obtained the normal category stress 32 respondens (27,6%), mild stress 45 respondents (38.8%), moderate stress 29 respondents (25.0%) and severe stress 10 respondents (8.6 %). The results of blood pressure 130-139 mmHg / 80-89 mmHg were 30 respondents (25.9%), ≥140 mmHg / ≥90 mmHgs 79 respondents (68.1%) and ≥ 180 mmHg / ≥120 mmHg as many as 7 respondents ( 6.0%) . From the analysis result, the significant value of p=0,024 which means that it significant effect and thus the H 1 can be accepted that there is a significant correlation between stress and blood pressure on hypertension elderly in the working area of Community Health Center of Kadungora, Garut Regency. Medical staffs are expected to use this research as the basic in developing health care activities for elderlies such as Integrated Development Post (posbindu) by providing socialization about information and education related with stress and blood pressure.

Background:Maintaining genital hygiene is important for females to maintain their reproductive health. Hormonal changes during puberty, vaginal moisture, anatomical location of the vagina and poor genital hygiene can increase the risk of reproductive tract infection, abnormal vaginal discharge, etc. Knowledge, infection, attitude and practice affect genital hygiene behavior amongst adolescents. Objective:This study aimed to identify elementary school students knowledge, attitude and practice towards genital hygiene at administrative area of Jatinangor health center. Method:This study used descriptive quantitative method with a population of elementary school students entering early adolescence (n=721). Samples were recruited using accidental sampling technique consisting grade VI students (n=104). Data were collected using questinnaires which had been tested. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. Result:Result showed that 79 respondents (76,0%) had fair knowledge, 56 respondents (53,9%) had a favorable attitude and 55 respondents (52,9%) had a poor practice. Conclusions and Suggestions: the majority of students demostrated poor behavior toward genital hygiene. Sugest for health care staff can increase the awareness of youth by providing reproductive health related information to protect and to maintain reproductive as early is possible.
