The Earth’s dynamical ellipticity H=(C-A)/C —where C is the polar principal moment of inertia and A the mean equatorial one— is a key parameter both for the precession-nutation theory and also as a fundamental standard. Indeed, first order precession-nutation formulae are proportional to it and its value is among the IERS numerical standards (IERS Conventions 2010). Moreover, from the point of view of Geodesy, H is the only parameter which enables to derive the principal moment of inertia C (Bursa, 1995).We revise the current value given in IAU2006/2000 precession-nutation model (Capitaine et al., 2003), obtained from the precession model. In particular, following Escapa et al. (2022), we focus on: (1) the updating of the lunisolar second-order contribution in the sense of perturbation theories; (2) the incorporation of all the contributions due to the Earth non-rigidity that stem from the tidal redistribution of mass; and, for the first time, (3) the adoption of a tidal system in use with H, providing its value in the zero-frequency convention.In this way, the resulting value is updated to the last precession-nutation models (Baenas et al. 2017, 2020) and follows IAG resolutions about the use of tidal systems (Res. 161, GA XVIII, 1983). The relative changes with respect to the present numerical standard of H are about 6 ppm, on the assumption that the current value was given in the same tidal system., The 28th IUGG General Assembly (IUGG2023) (Berlin 2023)

Siguiendo las recomendaciones de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) y el Centro para el Control de las Enfermedades (CDC) en la protección de los trabajadores de la salud contra la hepatitis viral tipo B (VHB), en 1993 el Instituto Peruano del Seguro Social (hoy ESSALUD), 1993 orientó la vacunación del personal de riesgo en los 4 Hospitales Nacionales, utilizando la vacuna cubana Heberbiovac HB (20mg, esquema 0. 1. 2 meses). Nos propusimos evaluar la persistencia de los anticuerpos en los vacunados después de seis años de la inmunización y la posible existencia de marcadores de infección por el virus B. Se estudiaron los sueros de 144 trabajadores de la salud, para una cobertura de 70,24 % con relación a los 203 seroprotegidos en el estudio inicial. Para la detección de los marcadores en el suero se emplearon métodos inmunoenzimáticos comerciales. El antecedente fue el HBsAg y el anti-HBc fueron negativos en todas las muestras serológicas, por lo que afirmamos que en ninguno de los vacunados hubo evidencias de infección por este virus. Luego de 6 años antiHBs fue positivo estando todos seroconvertidos, con seroprotección e hiperrespuesta de 91,6 y 43,7% respectivamente. Si bien el tiempo de vida media del antiHBs (t 1/2) es de 3 años, pronosticándose que los niveles de anticuerpos serán superiores a 10 UI/L hasta después de 15 años de finalizado el esquema. Los menores de 40 años tuvieron niveles de seroprotección e hiperrespuesta significativamente mayores; manteniendose las mujeres en categorías de respuesta superiores. Se recomienda evaluar la memoria post-refuerzo en los casos seroconvertidos, no seroprotegidos, y extender el trabajo de vacunación con ESSALUD a otros hospitales del país. Given the importance attributed to the protection of health care workers against viral Hepatitis B (VHB) by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC), in 1993, the Instituto Peruano del Seguro Social (Social Security Peruvian Institute), today known as ESSALUD, ruled the vaccination of personnel in risk working in the 4 national hospitals, using Cuban vaccine Heberbiovac HB (20mg, schedule 0, 1, 2 months). Our purpose was to evaluate the antibody persistence in the vaccinated individuals after six years from immunization, and the possible presence of HB virus infection markers. Sera from 144 health care workers were studied, for a 70.24% coverage, in relation to the initially seroprotected in the 1993 study. For markers detection, commercial immunoenzymatic methods were used. HBsAg and anti-HBc were negative in all the serology samples studied, thus we conclude that no evidence of infection by this virus was found in any of the vaccinated subjects. AntiHBs was positive, being all of them seroconverted, with seroprotection and hyperresponse as of 91.6% and 43.7% respectively. The mean life time of antiHBs (t 1/2) is three years, predicting that the antibodies' level will be over 10 IU/l until after 15 years from the end of the schedule. The subjects under 40 had significantly higher levels of seroprotection and hyperresponse, being the females those that stayed in the upper categories of response. Evaluation of the post-reinforcement memory in the seroconverted, not protected cases, is recommended, as well as extend the work with ESSALUD to other hospitals in the country.

Introduction: RECIPE study was designed to assess the impact of dietary supplementation with fermented milk enriched with plant sterols (FMPS) on the nutritional behavior, lifestyle and the joint therapeutic responsibility of hypercholesterolemic patients. Methods: Observational, prospective, multicenter, international study, was conducted to assess dietary habits and other lifestyle components in hypercholesterolemic patients in whom the general practitioner indicated FMPS supplementation. Nutritional, lifestyle and clinical data were collected at the initial visit and after a 4 months follow-up. The biochemical and anthropometric data were retrieved from medical records obtained at baseline and 4 months. Results: We report the results of Spain. Two hundred and one physicians who provided valid data of 1044 patients participated. The addition of FMPS was associated with improved overall nutritional index, being adequate initially in 28.2% of patients, and increasing up to 75.2% at the end of the study (P< 001). This nutritional change was associated with an improvement in the lipid profile and anthropometric data. Patients more adherent to therapy generally achieved a better result in all parameters compared to non-compliant ones. Conclusions: The addition of FMPS to a diet designed to reduce the LDL enhances the patient's attitude regarding changes in lifestyle, leading to better overall control of dyslipidemia and anthropometric improvement. © 2012 Elsevier España, S.L. and SEA.

Sera from 144 health workers were studied covering 70.24% of seroprotected subjects in comparison with seroprotected subjects in the initial study. Conventional immunoenzymatic methods were used to detect markers in the serum, HbsAg and antibodies to HbcAg were negative in all the serological samples, an outcome that showed that any of the vaccinated persons had traces of HB virus infection. The anti-HbsAg was positive, seroconversion was 100% whereas seroprotection and hyperesponse amounted to 91.6 and 43.7% respectively. The mean lifetime of anti-HbsAg is 3 years but it was predicted that the levels of antibodies would reach over 10 UI/L after 15 years of the vaccination schedule completion. Subjects aged under 40 years had significantly higher levels of seroprotection and hyperesponse, being females those in the higher response categories. The evaluation of the post-vaccination reinforcement immunological response in seroconverted non-seroprotected cases and the extension of the work with ESSALUD to other hospitals in the country were recommended

In this study we examined the shape of the association between temperature and mortality in 13 Spanish cities representing a wide range of climatic and socio-demographic conditions. The temperature value linked with minimum mortality (MMT) and the slopes before and after the turning point (MMT) were calculated. Most cities showed a V-shaped temperature-mortality relationship. MMTs were generally higher in cities with warmer climates. Cold and heat effects also depended on climate: effects were greater in hotter cities but lesser in cities with higher variability. The effect of heat was greater than the effect of cold. The effect of cold and MMT was, in general, greater for cardio-respiratory mortality than for total mortality, while the effect of heat was, in general, greater among the elderly.
