Male infertility remains a public health problem today. Varicocele looms large and is significantly associated with impaired sperm quality. Varicocele being defined as an abnormal and/or tortuous dilation of the scrotal veins of the pampiniform plexus. Method: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study with retrospective during 24 months. Our inclusion criteria were all patients operated on for varicocele on grounds of infertility or spermogram abnormality in the department, varicocele patients not operated on, or operated on for varicocele for other causes and incomplete records were not included in our study. Result: The 25-40 age group was the most represented with 60%, The desire for procreation was the reason for consultation most encountered with 73.33% and this desire had been evolving for 5 to 10 years in 53.33% of cases. High blood pressure was the most common medical history at 26.7%. Inguinal hernia was the most common surgical history, 36.66%. The normal spermogram rate increased from 13.33% before the intervention to 56.66% at 12 months postoperatively and the pregnancy rate increased to 33.33% at 12 months. Conclusion: Varicocele is a frequent pathology, Surgical cure for varicocele also significantly improves the fertility parameters of sperm in infertile patients within 3 to 6 months after the operation.

Since 2002, CS is involved in the conception and the specification of ATC systems for A320, A340, A380, A400M and A350 aircrafts. The ATC module, a ground/onboard communication system, is designed with SDL, a modelling language normalized by the ITU-T and which is described as a UML2-profile, too. The SDL well defined semantic allows to have homogeneous code generators and model simulators: these two technics are used in the process of the ATC projects, giving to the process a very efficient productivity. The automatic code generator generates the C code of the application. The code generator is qualified in accordance to the DO178B requirements (C level). This very strict qualification (development tool qualification) allows to highly reduce the tests effort of the ATC application. Verifications based on tests are realized on the SDL models, through execution simulation. CS uses RTDS, a SDL Z.100 simulator developed by Pragmadev. As well as providing edition and syntax/semantic checking of SDL models, RTDS provides debugging facilities such as breakpoints and step-by-step execution at the model level and a powerful scenarios language which enables to call some directives of the simulator such as MSC generation, internal signals sending, variables printing and so on...

International audience; OBJECTIVE: To compare the angles of cyclotorsion measured by central campimetry and scanning laser ophthalmoscopy. METHODS: Both methods were applied to each eye of 44 healthy volunteers, aged between 22 and 55 years. The line passing through the fovea and the center of the papilla was drawn on images from the scanning laser ophthalmoscope (SLO); the line passing through the fixing point and the center of the blind spot was drawn on the charts of the central visual field (VF). Torsion was estimated by the angle between these lines and the horizontal. RESULTS: With the VF method, the excyclotorsion was 5.6+/-2.9 degrees on the right eye and 7.2+/-2.9 degrees on the left eye. With the SLO method, these values were 4.7+/-2.6 degrees and 6.8+/-2.5 degrees , respectively. The measures obtained with both methods correlated significantly, for the right eye and the left eye, as well as for the difference between them. CONCLUSION: Data were in good agreement with the literature. Though slightly greater, values obtained with the scanning laser ophthalmoscope were coherent with campimetric measures. The origin of the greater excyclotorsion of the left eye remains an open issue. This phenomenon must be kept in mind when looking for a pathological between-eye difference.

På baggrund af Risøs særlige rolle på det nukleare og strålingsmæssige område og erfaring i håndtering af radioaktive isotoper er det foreslået at etablere en FDG-produktion på Risø som en del af et fremtidigt nationalt isotopcenter. Det er hensigten, atproduktionen skal ske med henblik på en sikker og pålidelig forsyning til gavn for de danske brugere, og at der skal etableres en væsentlig forsknings- og udviklingsindsats i tilknytning hertil. Det indebærer, at produktionen vil være "not for profit", menmed en sådan prisfastsættelse, at den vil kunne medfinansiere forsknings- og udviklingsvirksomheden. Et langtrækkende forskningsperspektiv er afgørende for Risøs engagement i projektet. Det er hensigten, at denne forskning skal ske i tæt samarbejde medbrugerne på hospitalerne. Udnyttelse og afprøvning af nye produkter skal ske på de brugerafdelinger, der måtte ønske at deltage i denne vigtige forskningsvirksomhed. For at belyse de faglige, laboratoriemæssige og økonomiske forudsætninger for at etablereet isotopcenter på Risø, samt de forskningsmæssige perspektiver, er der gennemført et forprojekt, som hermed rapporteres. Projektet vil indebære, at der skal installeres en cyklotron med tilhørende forsyninger og etableres nye laboratoriefaciliteter, derkan godkendes til fremstilling af radioaktive lægemidler. Laboratorierne kan etableres i Risøs nuværende isotoplaboratorium (bygning 202), som i så fald skal gennemgå en omfattende renovering for at leve op til dagens krav til laboratorier tillægemiddelfremstilling. Den samlede investering vil være 31,9 millioner kr., heraf 12 mio. til indkøb af en cyklotron, 3,3 mio. til udstyr m.m. og 16,6 mio. til bygningsinvesteringer.
