Students often use self‐injury (SI) as a diversion from mental agony. Some express anger or revulsion, strong negative feelings, or seek help from others in their personal support system. SI presents as many forms of harming oneself, such as: cutting, burning, scratching, head banging, and hitting. Most self-injurers do so intentionally, not by accident, as a coping mechanism. Physical Educators can guide youngsters who suffer from SI. They can counsel (but not act as a substitute for professional therapy or analysis) or assist in eradicating harmful impulsive emotions. They may fill a unique role, develop a reliable connection and a trustworthy relationship with such students, and aid them in identifying the cause of SI and resolving the issue. Empirical research has shown that it is more common in teenagers than adults. SI depicts their internal anguish and distress, it is manipulated as a tool to relieve their minds and make them realize the existence to break away from their social surroundings. During the Covid-19 lockdown domestically the young weightlifters of a Lion's Heart Weightlifting Club located in northeast Lahore Pakistan were forced to limit their regular systematic training which results in lost interest and intrinsic motivation to elevate their desired performance targets in a post-covid era. The objectives of the study were (a) to examine the impact of Goal Setting Theory on young weightlifters' post-covid performances, and (b) to engage the young weightlifters in the routine mental practice strategy of setting and procurement of short-term goals for daily training predetermined performance. An experimental method based on pre and post-intervention was employed to compare the results of the sample. The result of an experimental group's Paired Sample t-test, using the statistical package SPSS version 23, showed a significant impact of 'GST' (short-term goal-setting skills) on an elevation of the young weightlifter's post-covid performance. Therefore, it is concluded that to keep young weightlifters intact and focused on elevating their performance standards, coaches should help young weightlifters by allocating their daily performance training targets (i.e. short-term goal acquisition) moreover, teaching and giving them time for mental practice and strategy for the fulfillment of allocated daily training targets. The primary goal of this research was to study Emotional Intelligence (EI) and motivation and its relationship and impact with individual and team sport performance. The study was conducted with three objectives, which included acomparison of emotional intelligence and motivation scores of individual and team based female athletes; and to measure the relationship between emotional intelligence and motivation with sports performance of individual and team based female athletes; and to examine the impact of emotional intelligence and motivation on sports performance of female athletes.A Crosssectional research design was used and a total number of 134 female athletes of individual and team sports from four different universities participated in present study. There were no differences in mean scores of female athletes of individual and team sports on motivation, EI, and sports performance. On the other hand, there was no positive relationship between EI and sports performance of individual and team sports. Whereas, significantly positive relationship was not observed between EI, motivation and sports performance of individual and team sports. A statistically significant effect of motivation on sports performance of individual and team sports was observed, no significant impact of EI on sports performance was observed. The combined effect of EI and motivation on SP was not statistically significant. Based on the results, it was concluded that female athletes of individual and team sports showed similar level of EI and motivation, though EI didn't show a significant impact on sports performance. The present research is an endeavor to study the determinants of depression among patients with epilepsy in Pakistan. For this purpose, 100 diagnosed epileptic patients (N=100), having an equal number of male (n=50) and female (n=50) were selected from the indoor and outdoor patient departments of different hospitals. The age range of the epileptic patients was 12-70 years. Siddique Shah Depression scale (SSDS, 1992) was used to measure the depression among epileptic patients. The level of depression was found to be highest in women, being in early adulthood phase of life, being single, employed and not having a significant family history. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
