Emotion regulation plays a crucial role in well-being in everyday life. Effective emotion regulation depends upon adaptively matching a given strategy to a given situation. Recent research has begun to explore these interactions in the context of daily reports of perceived stress, affect, and emotion regulation strategy usage. To further understand these differences in strategy efficacy in an ecologically valid context, we examined responses to real world stressors in a young adult sample. We surveyed a range of emotion regulation strategies, including two forms of cognitive reappraisal (i.e., reinterpretation, which involves cognitively reframing one's emotional responses, and psychological distancing, which involves adopting an objective, impartial perspective). Participants reported strategy usage, momentary perceived stress, and affect in response to multiple ecological momentary assessments over a period of 7 days. Analyses of links between strategy usage and affect revealed that rumination was significantly negatively associated with more positive affect ratings. Further, a significant interaction between momentary perceived stress and reinterpretation usage was observed on affect, such that reinterpretation was more adaptive during situations perceived as less stressful. These results provide further insight into the importance of situational context in determining the effectiveness of particular emotion regulation strategies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Many studies have addressed the issue of the relationship between digital games and aggressive behaviour. However, less attention has been paid to the stereotyping of digital games and overcoming stereotypes from gamers’ perspective. This paper presents research conducted using the classic version of Grounded Theory. The research problem, i.e. the main concern of digital game players – the stereotyping of digital games – and the processes of addressing this problem emerged during the coding and analysis of the research data. The study has revealed how digital game players reinterpret the characteristic of digital games that “digital games encourage aggressive behaviour”. A whole range of reinterpretations emerged: Handling of virtual material rather than aggressive actions; Open in-game actions visible to everyone rather than aggressive actions; Digital games do not encourage aggressive behaviour, aggressive behaviour is in human nature; A space to sublimate masculine powers rather than aggressive actions; Social experimentation rather than aggressive actions; Exploration of limit states rather than aggressive actions; Emotional training rather than aggressive actions. This paper investigates the features and the course of reinterpretation processes as well as the aspiration of the gamers to disrupt negative stereotypes that hinder successful game-based learning. To assess the impact on clinical management, potential for peer learning, and referring physician satisfaction with subspecialist reinterpretations of hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB) imaging examinations. HPB CTs and MRIs from outside hospitals were reinterpreted by two subspecialty radiologists between March 2021 and August 2022. Reinterpretation reports were mailed to radiologists that issued primary reports. The electronic record was reviewed to assess for changes in clinical management based on the reinterpretations (yes/no/unavailable). To assess the potential for peer learning, a survey using a 5-point Likert scale was sent to radiologists who issued primary reports. A separate survey was sent to referring physicians to assess satisfaction with reinterpretations. Two hundred fifty imaging examinations (122 CT, 128 MRI) were reinterpreted at the request of 19 referring physicians. Ninety-six radiologists issued primary reports. RADPEER scores 1–3 were assigned to 131/250 (52%), 86/250 (34%), and 33/250 (13%) examinations, respectively. Of 213 reinterpretations with adequate records for assessment, 75/213 (35%) were associated with a change in management; of these, 71/75 (95%) were classified as RADPEER 2 or 3. Most radiologists agreed or strongly agreed with the following: prefer to receive reinterpretations (34/36, 94%); reinterpretations changed practice of reporting HPB imaging examinations (23/36, 64%); and reinterpretations offer opportunities for peer learning (34/36, 94%). Referring physicians agreed or strongly agreed (7/7, 100%) that reinterpretations are valuable and often change or clarify management of patients with complex HPB disease, and offer an opportunity for peer learning. The important problem of the publication is expressed by two questions: what method was used by German Dominican theologians who were supporters of the Immaculate Conception? How did the change in method change the view of the Immaculate Conception? The path to solving the problem has three stages. The first of them is a reconstruction of the views on the Immaculate Conception of German Dominican theologians. The next stage examines these views in terms of the method used. The final stage is a critical look at the methods used by Dominican supporters of the Immaculate Conception. The method used in the article consists of: systematization of the views of German Dominicans, analysis of the methods used by them and a discourse on the methods of the supporters of the Immaculate Conception with the opponent of this opinion, St. Thomas Aquinas. The change of method, from the scholastic method to the liturgical method (lex orandi – lex credendi), the argument from congruity (ex convenientia), and typological exegesis, has led a few Dominican theologians to the opinion that Mary was preserved or purified from original sin, or that she was conceived without original sin. The methods used by Dominican supporters of the Immaculate Conception have weaknesses. They resemble a circumstantial trial, which provides a high degree of probability, but not proof. This weakness of the methods is exposed by the discourse of these methods with the scholastic method of St. Thomas. This discourse results in the postulate of reinterpreting the Immaculate Conception. We should return to the biblical term “sanctification” and explain that Mary was saved by a more sublime sanctification. This would prevent the immaculate conception of Jesus from being equated with the immaculate conception of Mary. Only Jesus is Immaculate because He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and His Mother, conceived by Joachim and Anna, was saved by a more sublime sanctification.

Muʻamalah, as a human activity related to devotion to Allah, must abide by the rules established by Islamic law for the benefit of society and the maintenance of rights and duties among people. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to provide a comprehensive and applicable explanation of the reinterpretation of Islamic transactional principles in 21st century economic activities. This article is a library study using qualitative methods. Methods for collecting document data from relevant journals and books. It is then analyzed using content analysis methods. The result of this research is the principles of Islamic transactions: (1) mashlahah as an indicator of transactions, (2) justice in transactions, and (3) prohibition of all transactions involving ribâ, gharâr, tadlîs, tahkîr, maysîr, and risywah. The similarity between the study and previous studies lies in the concept and principles of Islamic transactions, but the difference is that this study fully explains the principles of Islamic transactions, with examples of their application in economic activities. Muʻamalah, sebagai aktivitas manusia yang berhubungan dengan pengabdian kepada Allah, harus mematuhi aturan yang ditetapkan oleh hukum Islam untuk kemaslahatan masyarakat dan pemeliharaan hak dan kewajiban di antara orang-orang. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari makalah ini adalah untuk memberikan penjelasan yang komprehensif dan aplikatif tentang reinterpretasi prinsip-prinsip transaksional Islam dalam kegiatan ekonomi abad ke-21. Artikel ini merupakan studi literatur dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data bibliografi dari jurnal dan buku yang relevan. Kemudian gunakan metode analisis isi untuk menganalisis. Hasil penelitian ini adalah prinsip-prinsip perdagangan Islam: (1) maslahah sebagai indikator perdagangan, (2) keadilan perdagangan, dan (3) larangan semua transaksi yang melibatkan ribâ, gharâr, tadlîs, tahkîr, maysîr dan risywah. Kesamaan dengan penelitian sebelumnya terletak pada konsep dan prinsip transaksi Islam, namun perbedaannya adalah penelitian ini menjelaskan secara lengkap prinsip transaksi Islam dan mencontohkan penerapan transaksi Islam dalam kegiatan ekonomi.

Bolesław Miciński was born in 1911 in Podolia. The writer lived and worked in Poland, and from 1939 he was in emigration in France, where he died of tuberculosis in 1943. The author of the article describes the connections of Miciński’s works with Greco-Roman antiquity and the Bible. The poetic volume Chleb z Gietsemane [Bread from Gietsemane] (1932), the essay Odpowiedź na list Francesca, obywatela rzymskiego [Reply to the Letter of Francesco, a RomanCitizen] (1940) and the lecture Portret Juliana Apostaty [Portrait of Julian the Apostate] (1942) are analysed in detail. Miciński was well known in ancient culture and consciously drew on its deposits for erudite, aesthetic and rhetorical purposes. It is also worth emphasising that antiquity was a reservoir of motifs, themes and sentences, which were updated in the works of the Polish writer in the process of renarration and reinterpretation, showing the universal value of the ancient tradition.

In 2011, British author and Booker-prize winner A. S. Byatt publishes Ragnarök, her rewriting of the Norse myth about the death of the gods. Seen through the eyes of a thin child who is forced to witness the terrors of World War II, the story and characters of the Norse myth are reinterpreted and retold in accordance with the child’s vision, imagination and feelings. The paper here focuses on the association of the Scandinavian imaginary with specific moments in A. S. Byatt’s personal history, and highlights the use of certain patterns and ideas that are present in both, trying to pinpoint the elements that make possible the transformation of the mythical into the actual. The aim of this study is to explore the evolution of the mythological events as they are rewritten in Byatt’s 21st century book, in close connection with the main character’s personal development. To that end, the paper will also dwell upon the comparison drawn by Byatt herself between the Norse and the Christian mythological imaginary – a vision filtered through the eyes and thoughts of the focalizer of the text, the thin child.

This article explores how Native Americans have received the Bible. Over the centuries some Indians have been inspired by the Bible, and some have been repelled by its long-standing place in colonization. The Christian invaders in the New World carried the Bible in their minds. It served as their inspiration, their justification, and their frame of reference as they encountered Indigenous peoples. In effect, the Bible was the template for exploration, conquest, identification of selves and others. The Christian invaders brought along or produced physical Bibles, which served their catechetical purposes, and in time they began to translate the Bible--in whole and in part--into American Indian languages. Therefore this article illustrates that to the present day Native Americans continue to receive the Bible actively and variously, attempting to fit it to their unfolding cultural stories. Background: Second-opinion reads on imaging studies are common for CT and MRI, but many institutions are hesitant to implement a workflow for second read of ultrasound studies performed at other facilities due to quality considerations. Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess discrepancy rates between initial and second-opinion general ultrasound reports Methods: We reviewed all requests of second-opinion US studies referred to our tertiary care center between 02/01/2020 and 06/23/2022. We evaluated percentage of exams that were interpreted versus archived. Whenever the original report was available (n = 196 studies), we evaluated any discrepancy in findings, interpretation, and potential management change based on second report compared to the initial report as evaluated by consensus agreement of 3 subspecialized radiologists. Results: A total of 586 ultrasound studies for 533 patients were nominated for consult. After excluding 58 studies for technical reasons (e.g., duplicate nomination, images for procedure guidance, modality is not ultrasound) and 282 studies that were archived by the reading radiologist due to various objective (e.g., studies such as echocardiography not interpreted by the abdominal imagers or more recent study available obviating need for consultation) and subjective (e.g., suboptimal image quality, lack of cine clips) reasons, a total of 246 studies were reinterpreted and were further analyzed. Only 21/246 patients (8.5%) got repeat ultrasound of the same body part within 3 months of original study date. The original (first-read) report was available for 196/246 studies, with discrepancy present between the first and second reads in 74/196 (37.8%) studies, with potential management change in 51/196 (26.0%) studies. Conclusion: Second-opinion interpretation of outside ultrasound examinations by subspecialized radiologists can result in recommended management change in 26% of studies indicating potential for added value to reinterpreting ultrasound studies despite the concerns for quality control. The original meaning of many modern Kazakh words of Arabic-Iranian origin is associated with ethical categories, spiritual and moral values. In this study aimed at identifying a layer of words borrowed by the Kazakh language from the Arabic and Iranian languages, and investigating their semantic development a descriptive method and methods of lexicographic and lexico-semantic analyses of words were applied. The study results demonstrated that the semantic development of Muslim terms in the Kazakh language included reinterpretation, and their acquisition of new meanings in the Kazakh literary language. Desacralization of religious concepts signified by these words occurred in the languages from which these words were later borrowed by the Kazakh language.

The present article focuses on screen adaptations as intersemiotic translation which gives an opportunity to transpose written word into the multimodal space of cinema. Taking up the role of translators who act as mediators between different semiotic systems, film-makers face a range of challenges associated with the meaning-making resources available to the creator of a book and a film, respectively. They have to take into account a variety of factors ranging from the need to preserve the spirit of the book and its aesthetic value to the obligation to ensure commercial success of the film. However, reinterpretation of a literary work for screen purposes inevitably produces a new work of art which starts its own life in the cultural environment it is meant for. Unleashing their creativity, film-makers decide which elements of the book they consider essential to convey the key message of the writer and which could be sacrificed to provide for the visual appeal of the work of cinema. A vivid example of such a challenge is seen in filming “The Hours” based on the novel by M. Cunningham, a story of three women bound through time with a book. Virginia Woolf writing her “Mrs. Dalloway”, Laura Brown reading it and Clarissa Vaughn nicknamed Mrs. Dalloway by her former lover—all of them are struggling to find their true selves in the world, which dictates the way they must live their femininity. The battles they have to fight every single day without having the right to speak up are mostly represented in their internal monologues the novel abounds with. The film, in its turn, focuses on the main events in the story reinforcing them with powerful symbols such as the kiss that reveals true desires of Virginia and Laura while showing Clarissa that her life goes on; the cake that becomes an embodiment of Laura’s failure as a spouse and a mother; water that will swallow Virginia and become a point of no return for Laura, and flowers presaging death for Virginia but fortelling life for Clarissa. An intricate mixture of music, image, and unrivaled play of actors produce a coherent and eloquent narrative, which makes viewers rethink gender stereotypes as well as Virginia Woolf’s legacy.

Research has suggested a contradictory effect between detachment and reinterpretation, two distinct tactics of cognitive reappraisal, in the regulation of negative emotion. The reasons for this contradictory effect remain unclear. The present study explored the differences between these tactics in terms of potential early processes and neural mechanisms, comparing psychophysiological differences using event-related potentials (ERPs) in the regulation of negative emotion. Thirty college students were required to perform an emotion regulation task, in which they naturally viewed or applied a given emotion regulation strategy towards negative pictures. The results demonstrated that both tactics reduced emotional experiences (decrease of arousal and increase of valence). Reinterpretation was associated with reductions in the late positive potential (LPP) in the late time window, while detachment was not. Detachment showed a lower amplitude in the N1 and N2 ERP components and a higher P2 amplitude than reinterpretation. The differences in early ERP components (N1, N2, and P2) predicted the reduction of LPP amplitude. These findings reveal the differential effects of these tactics on emotional experience and neural responses and highlight the significance of early processes on emotion across the time course of cognitive reappraisal. • Reinterpretation and detachment show differential effects in modulating arousal and valence ratings. • Reinterpretation is more effective than detachment at reducing LPP. • The differences in early components of ERP (N1, N2, P2) are observed between reinterpretation and detachment. • The early components of ERP (N1, N2, P2) predict the decrease of LPP. Canonical texts should be retranslated periodically, to avoid the obsolescence that fatally begins to affect not only the interpretations of previous translators but also their linguistic choices. A recent project conducted in Romania has underlined the importance of retranslating Shakespearean works into Romanian especially through a polemical 'conversation' with revered predecessors. The poetics of the new edition of retranslations foregrounds the performative dimension of Shakespearean texts and aims to reconnect the public of the present to the world of the great writer's texts. These retranslations have already been used for Romanian performances and are now appreciated for their greater semantic and pragmatic adequacy. This paper presents the basic principles and methods adopted by the translators of the new edition and further explores the vistas that it opens for future Romanian retranslations of dramatic texts written not only by Shakespeare but also by some of his contemporaries. The article is devoted to the study of the geological structure of the lower parts of the Productive Series of the Lower Pliocene of the Kurovdagh field. It consists of an introduction, problem statement, research questions, research methodology, results, conclusion and list of references. The introduction provides basic information about the field under study, its geographical location, the history of geological and geophysical studies, the lithology of the section, the structure of the Kyurovdag fold and the oil and gas potential of the field. Oil and gas presence inthefield is related to the Absheron stage of Pleistocene, Akchagyl stage and Productive Series (horizons PS01—PS23) of Neogene. Despite the long-term production from the field, the lower parts of the Productive Series and underlying sediments have not been recovered and sufficiently studied by deep drilling due to the complicated surface and deepseismo-geological environment. It has been recommended to carry out a 3D seismic survey due to a high level of lateral one-fold reflections on seismic records. The major goals of the 3D seismic survey were studyingthe Kurovdagh field's geologic setting, obtaining characteristics previously unknown to geoscientists, and providing detailed research on velocity section to derive prognostic time-depth dependence. It was noted that thePetroalliance Services Company Limited geophysical company has performed a field seismic survey on request «The Caspian Energy Group» company. Processing of the acquired data used the FOCUS 5.4 software package manufactured by Paradigm Geophysical. For repeated interpretation of 3D seismic survey data, the 3D CDP data acquired from the field were used. The kinematic analysis by use of the 3 D cubes revealed the difference by the time shift, frequency spectrum, and amplitude range. The 3 D cubes were brought to a single formby time, phase, and amplitude. The further kinematic interpretation displayed the good quality of the data acquired from Kurovdagh area. The study applied PANGEYA® software for a multi-attribute geological and geophysical data analysis and the standard interpretation. For volumetric modeling of the productive layers of the Kurovdagh oil field, we used the PETREL.10.2 software package. The study targets included complex, lithologically, and tectonically sealed deposits of Productive Series PS01—PS09 and Akchagyl stage (AKCH). Productive layers are attributed to Neogene's Pliocene stage within the Caspian basin's limits. It is represented by a thick series of continental, coastal, and marine sediments (sand, clay, coarsely fragmented depositions) of 1600 m thickness and is unconformity laying over the Pontian stage and covered by the Akchagyl layers in a transgressive form. The Akchagyl stage is one of the stages of the Upper Pliocene which is made of clay, limestone, marl, sandstone, sand, and conglomerates. It became clear that the Kurovdagh field is characterized by a block type structure across the geological section. Block sizes are almost unchanged, evidencing conformance of structural stages and heritance of tectonic movements. Mud volcano and diapiric folding and their sizes are the major distinguishing features of the area.

The paper presents a short story entitled Wanda by Zuzanna Orlińska as a posthumanist reinterpretation of the traditional ethnocentric legend. Subtle changes in te character’s motivation and expanding the plot of Wanda’s story into two other texts create a new understanding of community (not only a national one), as well as a new model of women’s participation in it. The foundations of this new model are agency, care and interdependence.

Since the end of the 1980s, the Disney Princess’ archetype has lived an empowerment process in keeping with the social changes experimented due to feminist movement. These new protagonists are characterized by their independence, courage, and determination to make their own choices, facing any adversity that could be found throughout their journey. Nevertheless, forty years ago, there was a princess who, without saving an empire, showcased the stronghold and bravery that allowed her to reach the freedom with which she had only dared to dream. Despite all the negative connotations that have been associated with the character of Cinderella, in this article we propose that it was not her prince who rescued her from her miserable existence, but her humble nature, her dreamy attitude, and her true friends’ support. Wicca is one of the fast-growing New Religious Movements (NRM) of the 21st century, although its roots can be traced back to the early 20th century. This article focuses on the analysis of Hungarian LGBTQ+ Wicca practitioners' practices in the Berkano Tradition, with a special interest in the representative aspects, such as altars and home altars. This element of the material dimension will illustrate how LGBTQ+ practitioners challenge the binary aspects of Wicca and how they utilize the liminal aspects of gender. With guided interviews, this article illustrates and provides a deeper understanding of how the traditional Wicca binarity of a God and Goddess is changed according to the given individuals' sexual orientations and how these individuals innovate their altars and reinterpret the traditional Wicca worldview and religious practice to create a closer, more personal religious attachment. With respect to gender and the spectrum of sexuality, the Berkano Tradition and their Wicca beliefs accommodate their identity very well; most of them skew and modify the rituals and praxis in their own way, so that they can be the most comfortable and at ease with their religious belief. My original interpretation that LGBTQ+ Wiccans use the adjective of Wicca because it is a belief system that is universalistic yet so individualistic is correct because they use Wicca as a tool of self-expression regardless of their sex, gender, and or sexual identity. They use different kinds of objects for their ritual to accommodate their needs; they also reinvent and reinterpret their Wiccan beliefs for their own good, so that they can be the best version of themselves. This article then closes with a positive statement that Berkano Tradition's Wicca is a religion that can be modified accordingly to fit within the framework of the given individuals/members. This paper deals with some terms that name linguistic phenomena and their interpretations, not included in the texts that deal with linguistic phenomena for Albanian, without being limited within the punctuation marks of the sentence. The theoretical treatment of linguistic, grammatical, sociolinguistic, generativist phenomena and especially of the grammar of the Albanian language text, as a relatively new field of Albanian linguistics, requires as much knowledge of the study methodology as a set of scientific methods, as much as of the terminology that marks and specifies the phenomena according to the fields of linguistics. Phonetics, lexicology and traditional grammar of the Albanian language do not include the treatment of some linguistic phenomena, according to new theories of linguistic system studies. Consequently they do not even include the terms for them. For the treatment of linguistic, grammatical phenomena in particular, it is necessary to go outside the traditional framework; the new treatments of general linguistics should be taken as a basis for the reinterpretation of certain linguistic phenomena of Albanian and the interpretation of terms that are not used in traditional linguistics for Albanian. The treatment of linguistic phenomena is not limited within punctuation marks, it goes beyond them. The linguistics of the text has opened new horizons. The treatment and reinterpretation of linguistic phenomena with contemporary terminology does not diminish the achievements of Albanian linguistics so far. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper shows that the field defined by the Wheeler–DeWitt equation for pure gravity is neither a standard gravitational field nor the field representing a particular universe. The theory offers a unified description of geometry and matter, with geometry being fundamental. The quantum theory possesses gravitational decoherence when the signature of R (3) changes. The quantum theory resolves singularities dynamically. Application to the FLRW κ = 0 shows the creation of local geometries during quantum evolution. Used for centuries as means of clarifying certain phenomena and occurrences or the causes for unexplained events, myths have adorned human reasoning with metaphors and allegories that kindle imagination and hope. Throughout historical eras, myths have been continuously adapted to the public, starting with ancient myths up to the modern ones that include urban myths, and they have served various purposes such as justifying the origin of words, rituals or even actions. Most of the myths with which we are familiar incorporate surrealistic creatures, among which one can discover vampires or werewolves, whose existence proves difficult to demonstrate since they inhabit the deserted realms of the Americas or the isolated European communities. Even though there is little evidence that Krampus haunted the houses of misbehaving children or that a reminiscent dinosaur swam in the Loch Ness, these mythical occurrences were reinterpreted within amusing approaches to taboo topics that might elicit wonder or cynicism. The paper presents a short story entitled Wanda by Zuzanna Orlińska as a posthumanist reinterpretation of the traditional ethnocentric legend. Subtle changes in te character’s motivation and expanding the plot of Wanda’s story into two other texts create a new understanding of community (not only a national one), as well as a new model of women’s participation in it. Is it true that classical notions of political thought--legitimacy, sovereignty, democracy, etc.--must be reinterpreted? It seems very hard to grasp the essence of our political reality with the aid of the intellectual tool-box of classical political philosophy inherited mostly from the thinkers of early modernity. New situations seem to be un-interpretable with the binary codes of modernity: inner--outer, private--public, etc. According to Hannah Arendt, we are standing at the breaking point of the tradition when inherited ideas and our life experiences come into conflict with each other; the former become an inadequate interpretative framework for the latter. What can a political philosopher do in this situation that is simultaneously both threatening and promising? It is threatening because it involves the temptation of discarding our tradition in political philosophy and challenging because it gives a possibility to the fruitful reinterpretation of our heritage. From a narratological perspective, this essay reinterprets the development of Chinese realist art under Western influence in the second half of the twentieth century and explores the narrative issue of the possible author that is transformed from the integral reader. As a crucial response to Western influence, realist art in China developed from imitating to appropriating Western art and continued from taking inspiration from Western art to participating in the international arena of conceptual art with certain renovations. In this essay, the narratological notion of "possible author" is proposed to discuss the issue of narrative identity. While some scholars declared the death of the reader, this essay introduces a new reader to art historical narrative. This is a tertiary reader that transforms into a possible author who re-narrates the story of art history in the possible space between the secondary narration and tertiary narrativization. In this space, the three layers of the first-hand fabula, secondary narration, and tertiary narrativization work together in defining the possible author's narrative identity as re-interpretive and critical. Background: Individuals with major depression have difficulties employing cognitive reappraisal. Most prior studies have not accounted for attentional deployment, which seems to be involved in this process. Methods: We investigated the cognitive reappraisal tactic reinterpretation in 20 depressed and 28 healthy youths and assessed regulation success in response to negative pictures via self-report. To investigate attentional deployment during reinterpretation, we applied eye-tracking and manipulated gaze focus by instructing participants to direct their attention towards/away from emotional picture aspects. Results: Depressed adolescents, compared with healthy youths, had a diminished regulation success when their gaze was focused on emotional aspects. Both depressed and healthy adolescents spent less time fixating on emotional facets of negative pictures when using reinterpretation as compared with simply attending to the pictures. Conclusions: Results from this study suggest that adolescents with major depression have emotion regulation deficits when being confronted with negative emotional facets, while showing intact overt attentional processes. The findings provide important starting points for future research investigating the role of other factors which might impact on emotion regulation processes in this patient group, such as cognitive control deficits. Through a pedagogical study on the culture-oriented residential design over the past several years, a course of mountain residential design based on the Chinese mountain-dwelling spirit is developed for those students in their senior year of an undergraduate architectural design program. In this program, three design steps, i.e. overall planning, unit organization and house type design are integrated with three aspects of the mountain-dwelling spirit, i.e. "hugeness and tininess," "precedence and subsequence" and "external and internal." Meanwhile, different levels of two methods, i.e. topography and schema were taken into consideration. This stimulates students' critical thinking of the tradition spirits, combines the prototype of tradition with sustainable design, and keeps balance between theory and practice. This article answers how the reinterpretation of disaster verses for the prevention of Covid-19 and how to apply maqashidi interpretation and maqashid values conveyed by the Qur'an in verses and hadiths related to the prevention of Covid-19. The method that the author uses is the interpretation method, this method aims to explore the messages of the Qur'an in revealing verses about the disaster prevention against Covid-19. This study also uses the thematic method, namely discussing verses based on a set theme, aiming to gain an understanding of the interpretation of disaster verses regarding the contextuality of Covid-19 prevention. Thus, the author comes to the conclusion; first, everything that happens is the will of Allah SWT in accordance with the level of ability of His servants. So as a servant should not give up in the face of it. Second, as a form of endeavor to prevent this epidemic by complying with policies and obeying the orders of Ulil Amri (Government) and the fatwas of Ulama in terms of the protocol for preventing the transmission of Covid-19, this is proof of our faith in the provisions and laws of Allah as a people. obedient. Then, there are at least five maqashid values conveyed by the Qur'an in reinterpretation using the maqashidi interpretation perspective, namely; hifdz ad-Din, al-Nafs, al-'Aql, al-Nasb, and al-mâl. While a growing body of research on translation strategy produced by novice translators have been undertaken by many scholars, there is a paucity of research on 'zina' and 'rafas' translation strategy from Arabic to Indonesian. To fill this lacuna, the present study aims to analyze novice translators strategy for rendering the words zina and rafas and why they used it. The present study adopted translation process research design and translation strategy theory proposed by Gambier (2010). The findings demonstrate that the meaning of adultery is not restricted to "sexual intercourse between a man and a woman who is not bound by a marriage contract", but also "female genitalia". Similarly, the word rafas refers to "intercourse," and also "making out" or "kissing." The novice translators discovered the meaning by employing the following four translation strategies:(1) searching and reading articles regarding the meaning of zina dan rafas through Publish or Perish dan Elicit Application, (2) downloading and reading multilingual dictionary, (3) downloading and reading monolingual dictionary, and (4) listening to lectures via YouTube. Convenience, language problems, and user satisfaction are tree factors that influence novice translator decisions to adopt the translation strategy. This study suggests that the meaning of the two words should be reviewed by utilizing annotation or addition translation techniques. Abstrak Meskipun penelitian tentang strategi penerjemahan oleh penerjemah pemula telah banyak didokumentasikan para sarjana, masih sedikit yang menganalisis strategi penerjemahan kata zina dan rafas dari bahasa Arab ke bahasa Indonesia. Untuk mengisi kesenjangan penelitian tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi penerjemahan kata zina dan rafas oleh penerjemah pemula dan mengapa mereka menggunakannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian proses penerjemahan dan teori strategi penerjemahan Gambier (2010). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kata zina tidak hanya bermakna 'perbuatan’ bersenggama antara laki-laki dan perempuan yang tidak terikat kontrak pernikahan' tetapi juga 'alat kelamin perempuan'. Demikian pula, kata rafas tidak hanya terbatas pada makna 'bersenggama', tetapi juga 'bercumbu rayu' dan 'berciuman'. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa ada empat strategi penerjemahan yang digunakan penerjemah pemula dalam mencari makna kedua kata tersebut, yaitu (1) melakukan navigasi dan membaca artikel tentang arti zina dan rafas melalui aplikasi Publish or Perish dan Elicit; (2) mengunduh dan membaca kamus multibahasa; (3) mengunduh dan membaca kamus satu bahasa; dan (4) mendengarkan ceramah melalui YouTube. Persoalan kemudahan, masalah bahasa, dan kepuasan pengguna merupakan tiga faktor penyebab mengapa strategi penerjemahan digunakan. Akhirnya, penelitian ini menyarankan untuk diadakan peninjauan ulang terhadap makna kedua kata tersebut dengan menggunakan teknik anotasi atau adisi.

Distraction and reinterpretation have been recognized as two different tactics of emotion regulation. As a tactic of attention deployment, distraction involves shifting attention to neutral information or performing a secondary task to distract attention from emotion stimuli of the primary task. Reinterpretation, a representative tactic of cognitive change, was defined as changing the meaning of a situation to enhance or reduce its emotional impact. Thus, there are significant differences between the two processes. We wondered if the neural mechanisms underlying distraction and reinterpretation are different. Even though their neural correlates have been widely studied with functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), few studies were conducted to compare the two tactics directly. Here we conducted an activation likelihood estimation (ALE) meta-analyses to investigate the common or different neural bases of distraction and reinterpretation. Moreover, we also used the meta-analytic connectivity modeling (MACM) to identify the emotion regulation network of distraction and reinterpretation. Overall, we found that the left dorsal lateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) was consistently activated during distraction and reinterpretation, whereas the left amygdala and inferior frontal gyrus/ventrolateral prefrontal cortex (VLPFC) were specifically activated during reinterpretation alone. The results indicate that the neural basis of distraction and reinterpretation are similar but not identical. The MACM results showed that distraction and reinterpretation share a common emotion regulation network, including the bilateral DLPFC, the dorsal medial prefrontal cortex, the inferior parietal lobule, the insula, the left (pre) supplementary motor area, the left middle temporal gyrus, and the right superior temporal gyrus. However, that network may subserve different functions when adopting various emotion regulation strategies. The paper focuses on culture stereotypes embodied in fairy tales and the ways of their representation in twice-told tales. The awareness of pressure of stereotypes in culturally central texts led to their persistent re-vision by the 20th century women writers. In “The Bloody Chamber and Other Stories”, Angela Carter appropriates some of Charles Perrault’s classical plots calling it a “demythologizing business”. The paper studies “social fictions” regarding women scrutinized in Carter’s reinterpretations of Beauty and the Beast plot. As their overall structure analysis testifies, critical approach to conventional culture’s concepts of gender predetermines the mode of narration - “stories about fairy stories” and female character perspective. These allow for the use of metacommentary that centres on economic issues concerning young women. Alongside with their fears, these issues are thematised by foregrounding recurrent motifs and law words. As the research shows, the major female character’s motivations that their flat prototypes lack are exposed; the 1st person narration also absent in the pretext permits the author to articulate criticism of “social fictions” underlying classical fairy tales through the female character’s mouthpiece in feminist terms. The introduction of a foil triggers the female character’s self-discovery and the multiple reinterpretations of the same plot shattering its ruthless changelessness provide new life scenarios for her.

In 1955, a figure, representing a comic actor, was discovered on a spoil heal in the Roman Fort of Iža. It is a unique find without close parallels in the whole of the Roman Empire, making it difficult to determine from which object it was derived or what was its function. The results of new research are presented here and demonstrate the object is a fragment of a luxury, figural knife handle made from bone rather than ivory. It was probably produced in a provincial workshop under a Mediterranean influence where similar figures, though from different materials, occur throughout the second century.

This article examines the question of the reinterpretation of mythical images and cultural artifacts of archaic cultures in contemporary fine art practices. This issue is considered on the example of illustrations made for the reprint of Vasily Livanov's story “Agnia, daughter of Agnia. The Legend of Scythians” (2011) by one of the leading artists of the Saint Petersburg Academy of Arts Khamid Savkuev. In this case, the artist’s wok on the illustrations was not so much a visualization of the literary text, but an attempt to study visually the relationship between the artistic traditions of the Ancient East, the Scythian world and the culture of the North Caucasus presented in the Nart Epos. It is important that the graphic works of Khamid Savkuev are not a reconstruction, but a reinterpretation of the mythopoetic system of ancient art. This reinterpretation becomes the basis of the author’s unique artistic experience. The concept of the World Tree, the image of the serpentine goddess (Rankenfrau), the status of sacred and fateful artifacts in these book illustrations are placed in a modern cultural context, contribute to the revitalization and enrichment of contemporary academic fine arts. It also shows how artifacts from the Scythian collection of the State Hermitage museum (Saint Petersburg) are included in the creative process and reveal their authentic meanings in the visual thinking of the artist. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of expressive means, which made it possible to create an epic space within the framework of modern book illustration.

Explanation reconstruction performs a crucial role not only inthe progress of science but also in educational practices anddaily activities, including the comprehension of phenomena.In this study, we conducted experiments to examine the factorsthat facilitate shifts in explanations. We focused on the tran-sition of attention on a key fact that contradicts an initial ex-planation and has a central role in its reconstruction. We useda short story as an experimental material in which participantsfirst constructed an initial explanation and then reconstructedit. In the experiment, we controlled the time of presentationof the key fact (bottom-up condition), reflective thinking (top-down condition), and the two together (bidirectional condition)to facilitate understanding of the explanatory shift. The experi-mental results are summarized as follows. First, when the priorexplanation was rejected, attention to the key fact was inhibitedalthough a new explanation was required. Second, the success-ful group increased their attention on the key fact just beforethe explanatory shift. Third, protection of the preceding expla-nation with unobserved facts was inhibited by guiding the par-ticipants ’attention toward the key fact. Finally, although theinitial explanation was not completely shifted, a explanatorypre-shift was achieved by activating reflective thinking withattention to the key fact.

The paper in a specific manner deals with the issue of applying discipline in the family through an effort to contextualize the existing upbringing methods based on reflections of prominent European pedagogical scientists. The results of empirical research conducted on seventh and eighth grade elementary school pupils (N=277) indicate the upbringing practice, thereby, the practice of discipline, which ranges between tradition and modernity; although today the disciplining methods immanent to contemporary consumerist society are dominant (most often associated with depriving children of material goods, meaning lack of pleasure and entertainment), the traditional disciplining methods of assigning children more responsibilities (which we consider to be valuable), and, unfortunately, corporal punishment of children, still show their persistence, despite far lower frequencies. Finally, based on theoretical knowledge and research findings, instead of denying the existing traditional forms of upbringing, the necessity of their evolved understanding and reinterpretation is emphasized with the aim of fitting the positive and valuable elements of traditional upbringing into the contemporary context of living.
