This study aimed to characterize digital platform-based work arrangements in regard to their degrees of flexibility and their effects on professional achievement, balance between pros and cons, and perception of risk. A survey was conducted with platform-based workers in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Spain (e.g., transport, care and cleaning, content production, and house renting). Two thousand and forty-eight workers contacted through social networks and unions participated. Based on the factorial analysis, we propose a flexibility index covering five dimensions (contractual agreement, working hours, workplace, remuneration, and union ties). After controlling for covariates, the flexibility index was used in a regression to measure its effects on professional achievement, the balance of pros and cons, and risk perception. The digital workers with the highest flexibility scores worked in transportation and the trade of goods and services. Flexibility reduces professional achievement when the worker accesses platform jobs due to a lack of alternatives. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Social role theory posits that binary gender gaps in agency and communion should be larger in lessegalitarian countries, reflecting these countries’ more pronounced sex-based power divisions. Conversely, evolutionary and self-construal theorists suggest that gender gaps in agency and communion should be larger in moreegalitarian countries, reflecting the greater autonomy support and flexible self-construction processes present in these countries. Using data from 62 countries (N= 28,640), we examine binary gender gaps in agentic and communal self-views as a function of country-level objective gender equality (the Global Gender Gap Index) and subjective distributions of social power (the Power Distance Index). Findings show that in more egalitarian countries, gender gaps in agency are smaller and gender gaps in communality are larger. These patterns are driven primarily by cross-country differences in men’s self-views and by the Power Distance Index (PDI) more robustly than the Global Gender Gap Index (GGGI). We consider possible causes and implications of these findings.

Resumen Objetivo: Identificar y caracterizar las tendencias en investigación sobre las prácticas profesionales para contribuir al debate académico con relación a los problemas relevantes y actuales asociados a su desarrollo y como estrategia para la inserción laboral. Método: El siguiente artículo presenta una revisión sistemática de alcance descriptivo donde se buscaron publicaciones entre los años 2000 a 2020, relacionadas con el tema de prácticas profesionales, en las bases de datos Redalyc, Scielo y Dialnet. Inicialmente del total de 308 estudios obtenidos se procedió a filtrar por su pertinencia y relevancia, se obtuvieron finalmente 64 artículos empíricos, sistematizados y abordados desde el análisis temático. Resultados: Se encontró con relación a las competencias (21 %) y la formación profesional (11 %) como más recurrentes, seguido de la identidad (5 %), percepción (5 %), vinculación universidad-empresa (5 %), significados (3 %), experiencias, empleabilidad (2 %), contextos (2 %), representaciones (5 %), condiciones laborales (2 %), salud mental (2 %), precarización (2 %), y finalmente, de menor recurrencia, memoria colectiva (1 %), currículo (1 %), bioética (1 %), agrupadas en 4 tendencias. Respecto a los diseños metodológicos, se encontró de mayor aplicación los cuantitativos (45 %), seguido de los cualitativos (39 %) y los mixtos (16 %). Conclusiones: La identificación, caracterización y análisis de lo que se ha investigado sobre el tema de las prácticas profesionales, permitió reconocer las tendencias surgidas en los estudios, el reconocimiento de los cuestionamientos de la relación entre la formación y aplicación profesional, como abordaje investigativo futuro para la Psicología organizacional y del trabajo, en un contexto de las transformaciones que ha tenido el mundo del trabajo y el impacto de este mismo en las prácticas profesionales como mecanismo para la inserción laboral. Abstract Objective: Identify and characterize the trends in research on internships in order to contribute to the academic debate regarding relevant and current problems associated with their development and as a strategy for labor market insertion. Method: The following article presents a systematic review of descriptive scope where we searched for publications between 2000 and 2020, related to the subject of professional practices, in the databases Redalyc, Scielo and Dialnet. Initially, of the total of 308 studies obtained, 64 empirical articles, systematized and approached from the thematic analysis, were filtered for their pertinence and relevance. Results: The following topics were found to be the most recurrent: competencies (21 %) and professional training (11 %), followed by identity (5 %), perception (5 %), university-business linkage (5 %), meanings (3 %), experiences, employability (2 %), contexts (2 %), representations (5 %), working conditions (2 %), mental health (2 %), precariousness (2 %), and finally, less frequently, collective memory (1 %), curriculum (1 %), bioethics (1 %), grouped in 4 tendencies. Regarding methodological designs, quantitative designs (45 %) were found to be more applicable, followed by qualitative (39 %) and mixed (16 %). Conclusions: The identification, characterization, and analysis of what has been researched on the subject of internships, allowed the recognition of the trends that have emerged in the studies, the recognition of the questions on the relationship between formation and professional application, as a future research approach for Organizational and Work Psychology, in a context of transformations in the world of work and its impact on the internship as a mechanism of labor insertion. Resumo Objetivo: Identificar e caracterizar as tendências na pesquisa sobre estágios profissionais, a fim de contribuir para o debate acadêmico em relação aos problemas relevantes e atuais associados ao seu desenvolvimento e como estratégia de inserção laboral no mercado de trabalho Métodos: O artigo seguinte apresenta uma revisão sistemática do escopo descritivo onde as publicações entre os anos 2000 a 2020, relacionadas ao tema sobre estágios profissionais, foram pesquisadas nas bases de dados Redalyc, Scielo e Dialnet. Inicialmente, do total de 308 estudos obtidos, procedemos à filtragem por sua relevância e, finalmente, 64 artigos empíricos foram obtidos, sistematizados e abordados a partir da análise temática. Resultados: Foi encontrado em relação aos temas: competências (21 %) e formação profissional (11 %) como os mais recorrentes, seguidos pela identidade (5 %), percepção (5 %), vinculação universidade-empresa (5 %), significados (3 %), experiências, empregabilidade (2 %), contextos (2 %), representações (5 %), condições de trabalho (2 %), saúde mental (2 %), precariedade (2 %) e, finalmente, de menor recorrência, memória coletiva (1 %), currículo (1 %), bioética (1 %), agrupados em 4 tendências. Resumen Este artículo presenta una aproximación a las formas como parte de la literatura, desde la perspectiva psicológica, considera el emprendimiento, los conceptos, las nociones, las teorías y los métodos que emplea para su estudio. Se utilizó el análisis de contenido. Se identifica la existencia de tres tendencias de abordaje: atributos personales, interacción persona-contexto y carrera; con una tendencia de abordajes de orden positivista como forma de producción de conocimiento, y la consideración del emprendimiento como forma de re-institucionalización del trabajo por cuenta propia, y como opción ante la falta de oportunidades de empleo en el marco de las transformaciones contemporáneas del mundo del trabajo. Abstract This paper presents an outlook to the ways as part of the literature, which belong to the psychological perspective, considers entrepreneurship, concepts, notions, theories and methods used for its study. Content analysis as a research technique is used. Three approach tendencies -personal attributes, person-context interaction and career- and a tendency toward positivism as a way of knowledge production were found. Entrepreneurship could be a re-institutionalization of self-employment and an option facing unemployment within the framework of contemporary changes of work field.

RESUMEN Partiendo de una perspectiva multidimensional, se analiza la configuración de la empleabilidad del profesorado universitario. Para ello se sistematizan aportes de la literatura especializada y se presentan resultados del análisis de 24 entrevistas sobre las trayectorias de académicos vinculados a universidades españolas y colombianas. El contraste de contextos espacio-temporales, permite visibilizar la incidencia diferencial de dinámicas socio-económicas, culturales, políticas, educativas y organizacionales en los mercados y relaciones del profesorado con su trabajo. De igual forma, se analizan recursos personales, relacionales y psicológicos del profesorado, que repercuten en la inserción, permanencia y movilidad del profesorado en los mercados de trabajo. Lo anterior genera aportes la comprensión de la empleabilidad como un fenómeno complejo, multidimensional y situacional, dependiente tanto del contexto como del individuo, que representa una estimativa potencial relativa de difícil aprehensión, pero con consecuencias concretas para las personas que trabajan. ABSTRACT From a multidimensional perspective, it is analyzed the configuration of the employability of university professors. For this purpose, contributions from the specialized literature are systematized, as well as findings from the content analysis of 24 interviews on trajectories of academics working in Spanish and Colombian universities. The contrast of spatio-temporal contexts allows us to visualize the differential impact of socio-economic, cultural, political, educational and organizational dynamics on markets and labor relations. Similarly, it is analyzed the personal, relational and psychological resources of the faculty, which facilitate or limit their insertion, support and mobility in the labor markets. This contributes to the understanding of employability as a complex, multidimensional and situational phenomenon, dependent on the context and the individual, which represents a relative potential estimate of difficult apprehension, but with concrete consequences for the people who work.

This paper presents an outlook to the ways as part of the literature, which belong to the psychological perspective, considers entrepreneurship, concepts, notions, theories and methods used for its study. Content analysis as a research technique is used. Three approach tendencies -personal attributes, person-context interaction and career- and a tendency toward positivism as a way of knowledge production were found. Entrepreneurship could be a re-institutionalization of self-employment and an option facing unemployment within the framework of contemporary changes of work field. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The review of specialized publications on employability and work of university professors is presented. The socio-economic and political, educational, organizational and individual dimensions are considered. Each one compiles aspects that affect the relationship of university professors with their work, as well as approaches to employability, development strategies, and actors involved. Based on this, a multidimensional, dynamic and situational approach of the phenomenon, involving different social actors, is presented. This approach recognizes the influence of structural and individual aspects that include agency and reflexivity. It concludes by compiling some aspects treated and highlighting critical positions and paradoxes that could indicate areas of work for the later investigation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

El presente artículo sintetiza reflexiones sobre el constructo empleabilidad, basados en la Investigación "Empregabilidade: Versões e implicações. Uma leitura desde a Psicologia Social", Rentería (2008). En primer lugar se presenta su historia como noción instrumental que implica un sinnúmero de acepciones orientadas a la responsabilización de las personas para entrar, mantenerse o salir del mundo del trabajo. La reflexión incluye, más allá de la individualización, el cuestionamiento sobre los actores visibles o invisibles implicados en los mercados de trabajo y en la definición de sus criterios y reglas. Complementariamente se discuten interfases con la academia y dispositivos de formación; así como exigencias para las personas y prácticas de Recursos Humanos. Finalmente se presentan cuestionamientos sobre las implicaciones psicosociales del fenómeno. This article presents some reflections on the 'employability' construct, based on the "Empregabilidade: Versões e implicações. Uma leitura desde a Psicologia Social" research project. Its history is presented first as an instrumental notion implying several meanings, all oriented towards holding people responsible for entering, staying at or leaving jobs. This reflection includes, beyond individualization, questions about visible or invisible actors involved in labor markets and in the definition of its criteria and rules. Interfaces with the academic world and formation devices are also discussed, as well as demands for Human Resources personnel and practices. Finally, questions about the psychosocial implications of the phenomenon are presented.

Las transformaciones del trabajo implican disminución del empleo y consolidación de otras modalidades de trabajo con implicaciones psicosociales. La investigación exploró, a partir de entrevistas a profundidad, estrategias de aprendizaje que, según profesionales recién egresados y empleadores, facilitan la empleabilidad en cinco ciudades colombianas. Los resultados muestran que las estrategias de aprendizaje utilizadas por los profesionales no necesariamente son conscientes. Los profesionales exitosos usan estrategias cognitivas de elaboración y transferencia, estrategias relacionales para visibilidad y generación de conocimientos en interrelaciones, y estrategias metacognitivas de regulación en su orden. Los profesionales control utilizan estrategias cognitivas de elaboración y transferencia sin traducirlas necesariamente en acciones. Los empleadores destacan estrategias cognitivas de elaboración, metacognitivas de regulación, y relacionales de visibilidad y establecimiento de relaciones. Transformations of work world imply the diminishment of structural employment and consolidation of other forms of work with psycho-sociological implications for employability. The research explore learning strategies that in version of professionals (successed and control) and employers facilitate employability at 5 Colombian cities. Deep interviews were used. Results show that learning strategies are not necessarily consciousness. Success professionals use Cognitive strategies of elaboration and transferece; relational strategies for visibility and promoting knowledge in inter-relation; and meta-cognitive strategies of regulation in this order. Control group professionals use cognitive-elaboration and transference strategies without converting them into behaviors. Employers empathized on cognitive strategies of elaboration, metacognitives of regulation, and relationals of visibility and the establishment of relations.

Se propone un plan de muestreo para la obtención de información confiable de parte de los estudiantes de grado 11 de las ciudades de influencia de la Universidad del Valle, Cali, Colombia. Los estudiantes de grado 11 conforman la principal población a través de la cual la universidad puede cumplir con la misión de formación a nivel de pregrado en la región. La institución se propuso caracterizar esta población mediante una batería de preguntas en formato encuesta. Para la selección de los sujetos que integran la muestra, se procede primero a determinar las características que debe cumplir dicha población objeto de estudio y la población de muestreo (colegios) para luego determinar el número de colegios que incluirá la muestra y su reparto por ciudad considerando al interior de cada una de estas cuatro dominios de acuerdo con dos ejes de clasificación: Oficial- No oficial y Académico-No académico, permitiendo así cuatro dominios de clasificación en cada ciudad. Determinados los colegios en cada dominio de cada ciudad, se visitó y encuestó a todos los estudiantes del primer grupo de grado 11 de cada colegio. Se configuró así una muestra por conglomerados en una sola etapa con reparto proporcional por ciudad para tener en cuenta el tamaño de cada ciudad según el número de colegios y el número de estudiantes de grado 11 que presentaron las pruebas SABER 11 de 2008, ante la imposibilidad de contar antes del estudio con el número de estudiantes de grado 11 matriculados en el año 2010. Se explica el diseño muestral y se presentan los principales parámetros y sus estimaciones. We applied a sampling plan oriented to obtain reliable information on the Universidad del Valle, Cali, Colombia, from senior high school students in the university's area of influence. The university made the decision of characterizing this population through a sampling survey, given the fact that these students represent the main population the university is intended to serve. For the students selection we started by determining the main characteristics of the main and sampling population (which would be made of the high schools in this case), to continue then with the number of high schools to be included in the sample as well as the distribution of the sample among the cities where the sampling will be carried out. Within each sampled city we selected four domains according to whether or not the high schools were public or non-public and academic or non-academic. Once established the high schools to be included in the sample, we visited each one of them and surveyed all the students in one of the last grade classes. We picked the first one in all cases, to avoid any selection sampling bias. This way we have a one step cluster sampling with proportional sharing by city in order to take into account the cities' size according to the number of high schools, and to the number of registered last grade students. Since we did not have access to information on the number of registered last grade students, we used as a proxy the number of students taking the 2008 version of the SABER 11 examination. We explain the sampling plan, and present the main results.

The article presents a reflexive synthesis based on a research developed at Cali (Colombia) on Family Cohabitation in a poor region of the city. It's proposed a reading from Social Psychology, using as references some elements from Simbolic Interacionism as an interpretative support for a qualitative research. Results suggest the existence of a series of readings on Family coexistence that go across on the construction of reality made by people imply, and that those versions not necessarily are coincident with hegemonic discourses on cohabiting and violence. This way it's opened the possibility of other wider versions on how reality is being constructed, and how to board an important problematic as this. El artículo presenta una síntesis reflexiva basada en una investigación realizada en Cali (Colombia) sobre convivencia familiar en un sector de escasos recursos de la ciudad. Se propone una lectura desde la Psicología Social, tomando como referencia algunos elementos del Interaccionismo Simbólico como soporte interpretativo para un estudio cualitativo. Los resultados muestran que existen una serie de lecturas de la convivencia familiar que se cruzan y entrecruzan en la construcción de realidad por parte de las personas implicadas y que tales versiones no necesariamente son coincidentes con los discursos hegemónicos sobre convivencia y violencia. De esta manera se abre la posibilidad de visiones más amplias de cómo se construye la realidad y se puede abordar una problemática tan importante como ésta.Palabras clave: Interaccionismo simbólico, Psicología social, Convivencia familiar.
