[Background] To investigate the clinical safety and efficacy of local excision with endovascular gastrointestinal anastomosis stapler (Endo-GIA) in the treatment of T2N0M0 mid-low rectal cancer patients. [Methods] 62 patients admitted with T2N0M0 mid-low rectal cancer in our hospital were collected from January 2015 to December 2018. According to the surgical methods,these patients were divided into local excision group (LE group) and total mesorectal excision group (TME group). 29 patients in the LE group underwent transanal LE with Endo-GIA. 33 patients in the TME group underwent conventional radical surgery according to the principle of TME, including 25 patients receiving Dixon,and 8 patients receiving Miles. Comparative analyses were performed on basic materials, intraoperative and postoperative indicators, and prognosis status between the two groups. [Results] There were no significant differences in BMI, gender, pathological types,tumor size,and tumor distance from the anal verge between LE group and TME group had.Only average age of LE group was higher than that of TME group because several older patients had strong sphincter-preserving willingness and could not tolerate radical surgeries.General characteristics of patients were comparable between the two groups.However, the two groups had significant differences in mean operation time, postoperative hospital stay, intraoperative bleeding volume, and the rate of postoperative complications. The local recurrence rate, mortality rate, overall survival, and 1-year/3-year disease-free survival had no statistical differences between the two groups. [Conclusion] LE combined with Endo-GIA can achieve the same clinical efficacy and safety as TME for patients with T2N0M0 mid-low rectal cancer. LE with Endo-GIA has obvious advantages of less trauma, fewer surgical complications, quicker recovery, and higher living quality over TME.

Following during development of electric vehicles and other modern-life appliances, numerous lithium-ion batteries are fabricated and used every year, and their consumption is constantly expanding. However, the battery life of the lithium-ion batteries is about 3 to 5 years, and there are some hazardous and noxious substances in spent lithium-ion batteries. Therefore, it is necessary to recycling these spent batteries with some resourceful and environment friendly technology. In this work, we propose a novel technology of resourceful disposing and utilizing oxide cathode materials from spent power lithium-ion batteries, which is using the recovered compounds from spent lithium-ion batteries to capture carbon dioxide from fossil fuel plant. The detailed technical routes of laboratory scale test and bench scale test are also given in the work.

The effect of modification with transglutaminase (TGase) and 4-hydroxy-3-methoxycinnamic acid (ferulic acid) on properties of tilapia skin gelatin film (TSGF) was researched. The results showed that the peroxide inhibition of modified TSGF increased from 14.7% to 62.0% and 52.1%, when concentrations of TGase and ferulic acid were 0.20 or 1.0 mg·mL-1. At the same time, the WVP coefficients were lower about 24.2% and 20.6%, respectively. The solubility of TSGF decreased with the increase in concentration of TGase and ferulic acid. As the formation of hydrogen bonds in the structure of the film, the amide A band was shifted towards higher wave numbers after modification.

In generators operation,the hydrogen purity is an important monitoring indictor. The change of thepurity affects unit safety operation directly. Hydrogen purity of one #10 generator unit dropquickly. Determining how to find the mainfactors is the main objective. Primarily, it was analyzed that the main reason of hydrogenpurity decrease was the air enter the sealingoil system. Though analyzing DCS history curve,as well as temperature detection test, channeling oil test, and checking thesystem pressure, finally there were two reasons, one isfill oil valve leakage fault, the two is the oil pressure difference of hydrogen side and airside in balance valve aretoo large, causing the oil channeling from air side to hydrogen side.

Though it had been employed for limit analysis and integral safety assessment of pressure pipe and vessel, most of the elastic modulus adjustment procedures were applicable to simple structures because their load multiplier was mainly determined by stress. In this paper, a series of element bearing ratio (EBR) based load multiplier algorithms are given, in which the influence of both stress and material on limit load are included. The EBR based load multiplier algorithms are investigated, and two efficient algorithms are suggested. Then the two algorithms combined with the elastic modulus adjustment procedure of elastic modulus reduction method are applied to limit analysis and integral safety assessment of penstocks.

Moisture was one of the most important performances of the gypsum, but now there did not have effective way to judge the dewater character of gypsum slurry in the operation of desulfurization. In this article, the method of using settling velocity to deduce the dewater performance was proposed and experiments had been done to verify the feasibility, it would provide beneficial reference for the operation of flue gas desulfurization.

Wastewater treatment system was an important part of the wet desulfurization, and it played an important role to improve the quality of absorber slurry. Combined with the problems of desulfurization efficient reduced and moisture content in gypsum exceed normal, this paper pointed out the deficiencies which used the chlorine ion concentration to control the operation of desulfurization waster water; and suggested the influence of chlorine ion and the other impurities should be studied comprehensively, some guides for in-service supervision on the operation of FGD should be established as soon as possible.

This manuscript introduces and reviews the background, necessity, opportunities, and recent research progresses for investigating and applying the secondary use of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and electric vehicles (EVs) lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries in stationary applications. And the motivation, objective, and plans of our PHEV/EV lithium-ion battery secondary-use program are also described in detail.

The purpose of this paper is to review the current status of the recycling technologies of spent LIBs (LIBs) based on LiCoO2 system, including the structure and components of the LIBs, the recycling processes from spent LIBs, the problems and prospect of the studies of the recycling technologies have been put forward. Furthermore, the necessity of developing new recycling technologies and processes for lithium-ion power batteries, our research and technical approach are also demonstrated.

The beach plum, Prunus maritima Marsh is native to the sandy North Atlantic coast, from Newfoundland to North Carolina. It can grow well without irrigation, even on low-nutrient sandy soils, saline land, old-field and coastal beach where many other plants cannot survive. It is fine rootstock to improve stress tolerance of cion. The fruits of beach plum can be made into delicious jams, jellies and wine. This paper is aimed to introduce beach plum to people, and hope it can become an important multipurpose crop in Chinese coastal beach in the future.

The content and composition of fatty acids in the seed oil from 4 blackberry varieties were compared in this paper to provide further guidelines for use of blackberry seeds. Blackberry seed oil contains rich α-linolenic and linoleic acid making it an excellent dietary source of 18:3n-3 and essential fatty acids. The oil is a good dietary source of natural antioxidants for health promotion and disease prevention. The presence of n-3 fatty acid and antioxidants also suggests potential value-added utilization of blackberry seeds for preparing functional foods or supplemental products.

In order to understand the nutritional characteristics of blueberries (Vaccinium spp.), provide the fundamental basis for its processing and utilization, 13 blueberry varieties were studied on their major nutrient compositions in fruit. The results showed that blueberry fruit contained 10.31 ± 0.98% of soluble solids, of which 77.13% was soluble sugar and 89.02% of soluble sugar was reducing sugar. Average content of organic acids was 0.79 ± 0.23% and sugar-acid ratio was 10.91 ± 3.38. Total polyphenol content was 4.921 ± 0.738 mg·g-1, of which anthocyanin was 1.441 ± 0.435 mg·g-1 and ellagic acid 0.921 ± 0.098 mg·g-1. Nutrient content and their components had difference between blueberries varieties.

A new rapid evaluation method of reverse osmosis (RO) scale inhibitors based on pH measurement has been reported. Five scale inhibitors, Amino Trimethylene Phosphonic Acid (ATMP), Hydrolyzed Polymaleic Anhydride (HPMA), GE-Argo, PTP-0100 and TPTO-150, each at the dose of 1 ppm was added for evaluating the performance of CaCO3 scale controlling. Brine pH was the only measured parameter at periodic time intervals. The criterion was that the pH drops, the precipitate occurs. We can compare the efficacy against CaCO3 by calculating the supersaturation value of CaCO3. The test results show that Argo is the best effective inhibitor and HPMA is the worst of all. This method with high sensitivity and accuracy is fit for screening out scale inhibitors before RO dynamic test.

Lime residuals left from water softening process reused as desulferizer in the coal-fired power plants has been reported. The active composition (CaO) is 43.06 %. 98.77% of lime residuals are particles smaller than 45 µm. The dissolution rate of lime residuals is higher than that of limestone. The results show that the reuse of lime residuals shall facilitate the absorbance of SO2 and enhance the efficiency of desulfurization. Additional corrosion of apparatus and pipes, the slurry bubble or overflow has not been observed during the experiment. The water consumption can be largely reduced, and the gypsum matches the reuse standard. Coal ashes and gypsum are concluded for many kinds of applications.

A novel actinomycete strain, YIM 001T, was isolated from a soil sample collected from Hebei province, People's Republic of China. The strain was characterized by white to grey aerial mycelium. Long spore chains, borne on the aerial mycelium, were straight to Rectiflexibiles; the spore chains were composed of non-motile and coccoid spores with a warty surface. The cell wall of strain YIM 001T contained ll-diaminopimelic acid (A2pm) and traces of meso-A2pm. Whole-cell hydrolysates contained mainly glucose and small amounts of xylose, galactose and arabinose. The menaquinones were MK-9(H4) (4·6 %), MK-9(H6) (60 %), MK-9(H8) (30·7 %) and MK-9(H10) (4·7 %). Phosphatidylethanolamine was the diagnostic phospholipid. The DNA G+C content of strain YIM 001T was 71·4 mol%. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that strain YIM 001T belongs to the genus Streptomyces. Based on its phenotypic and genotypic characteristics, strain YIM 001T (=CCTCC AA 203005T=CIP 107974T=DSM 41837T) is proposed as the type strain of a novel species, Streptomyces hebeiensis sp. nov.

There is growing interest in a possible connection between incoherent metallic conduction and high temperature superconductivity, that is exemplified by the behaviour of the parent compounds of the new iron-pnictide high-temperature superconductors. We have recently discovered very incoherent behaviour in the non-superconducting arsenide, FeCrAs. This material shows a non-metallic resistivity that rises with decreasing temperature without saturation or a gap, over three decades of temperature, from 80 mK to 800 K. We briefly review this behaviour, and address the question of disorder: how to test for the presence of disorder in a system where the scattering rate inferred from the resistivity is highly abnormal, and how to produce single crystals with low levels of disorder. Our discussion will focus on magnetic properties. FeCrAs is a partly frustrated magnetic system with a Nèel temperature TN that depends on sample quality, a sample-dependent spin freezing temperature TF < TN, and magnetic hysteresis that depends strongly on preparation conditions due to ferromagnetic minority phases in disordered samples.

OBJECTIVE: To demonstrate the existence of the marginal division in human stritum. METHODS: The cytoar-chitecture and distribution of the neurotransmitters in human fetal striatum were studied using Nissl staining and immuno-cytochemistry. RESULTS: In the sections with Nissl staining, a distinct fusiform cell zone was observed between the putamen and the globus pallidus of the human striatum. The long axes of these neurons in this region stretched dorsoventrally in parallel with the border between the putamen and the globus pallidus. Numerous L-ENK-, NT-, SOM-and SP-positive fibers and a few L-ENK-and NT-positive cells were found in the marginal division. CONCLUSION: For the first time we demonstrate that human also have the marginal division in the striatum which is similar to that of the mammals as the rats, cats and monkeys

The changes in particle size distributions in bayerite and magnesium hydroxide on calcination are reported. In general, size distributions in calcined powders very closely resemble those obtained before calcination. Theoretical changes in particle volume, and hence in volume equivalent diameter, can be calculated from weight-loss data and corresponding densities. Possible reasons for deviation from the theoretical size reduction ratio are also discussed.
