Abstract
The article offers information on business opportunities for U.S. businesses in Bucharest, Romania. During Christmas celebrations, business entities from the U.S. visit the city to do businesses. Donald Bramante, economic and commercial counselor at the U.S. embassy in Romania, American companies are doing brisk businesses in Romania. It is stated that East-Europe Import Export Inc. plans to sell Romania's Aro four-wheel drive vehicle in the U.S.
The article reports on the business decline in different sectors of economy in Romania in 1945. It tells that Romania which is facing the problem of inflation needs the U.S. capital and industrial equipments. It informs that the production of coal and lignite in 1945 was only 70 percent of the 1937 output. It further informs about foreign trade of the country which is restricted by exchange shortages.
The article offers information on the food shortage in Germany. It is stated that the citizens of the war-torn country are going through shortage of food supplies. However, it is stated that the people are still better off as far as basic rations are concerned than they were in 1916 or 1917. As stated, Russian and Rumanian supplies have promised relief.
The article presents an international outlook for business in November 1945. It states that the government restricts passenger train schedules while locomotives, freight, and tank cars are being sent to Rumania and Poland for additional oil and coal supplies. It says that troops in the rail lines and frontiers of Rumania aim to prevent sabotage. It mentions that Nazi leaders may take oil and raw materials by force.
The article reports that Renault SA of France will build the first automobile factory of Romania to develop 50,000 Renault Model 16 automobiles annually, beginning 1969.
