The article cites the case of Alvaro Alcorta, a young man accused of murder in a Texas state court for stabbing his wife to death. Alcorta has admitted the killing but claimed it occurred in a fit of passion when he discovered his wife, whom he suspected of marital infidelity, kissing one Castilleja. The jury was not impressed, convicted him and sentenced him to death. It is said that the case is not simple. It is believed that the total effect of Castilleja's testimony was to mislead the jury.
