Following the welcome by the President and introduction of members, the minutes of the last meeting were approved as published in the June 1966, issue of the Quarterly. Professor Swyers presented his report as Secretary-Treasurer of the Association. A copy of this report is attached to the permanent file copy of these minutes and is published in full in the June 1967, issue of the Quarterly. Following the report of the Secretary-Treasurer a motion was made that the report be accepted and that Swyers be given a vote of appreciation for a job well done.

It informs that the meeting was called to order by President George T. Walker. Walker explained that Leon C. Megginson, newly elected president, was in Spain and that the Nominating Committee had asked him to preside for Megginson. The minutes of the last meeting, as published in the June, 1961, issue of the Quarterly, were approved. Walker commented briefly on the importance of the work of Section Chairmen and emphasized that section programs should be complete and in the hands of the General Program Chairman by December 1, 1962. J. William Davis announced that he had reviewed the facilities available at the Granada Hotel in San Antonio and believed that they would be adequate for the 1963 Annual Meeting of the Association. The Executive Council then ratified the prior decision to have the annual meeting at San Antonio in 1963.

Moore presented his report as editor of the Quarterly. A copy of this report was attached to the permanent file copy of these minutes.

This article presents information on program schedule of the Southwestern Social Science Association annual convention, held in April 1949, at Fort Worth, Texas. The first session of the convention began at 9 a.m. on April 15, 1949 on the topic of accounting. Some papers presented in the session are: "Accounting of Social Security," by Z.E. Avery; "A Uniform Plan for Teaching Elementary Accounting Within the College or University," by Zeb Freeman; and Corporate Reorganizations Under Chapter X of the Bankruptcy Act," by Reginald Rushing. Panel discussion on regional research related to agricultural economics was conducted o the topic "Financing Regional Research," and "Organization for Regional research." Some other papers presented on topics like economics, geography, government are: "Inflation and Government Policy," by H.L. McCracken; "Competition As a Concept and a Guide to Policy," by F. Howard Forsyth; "New Gulf, Texas: The World's Largest Sulphur Mine," by John I. Stroup: and others.

Following the welcome by the President and introduction of members, the minutes of the last meeting were approved as published in full in the June 1969, issue of the journal "Social Science Quarterly." The Secretary-Treasurer was asked to give his report. Following the rendition of this report a motion was made that the report be accepted. The motion passed. The report of the Auditing Committee was presented to the group by professor John Willingham. Following the report of the Chairman of the Audit Committee, President Friedsam called on professor Seward Robb, Chairman of the Financial Policy Committee to give his committee's report. This report made several alternative suggestions applicable to the improvement of the financial position of the Association.

The meeting was called to order by Association President Oliver Benson. Following the introduction of members of the Executive Council, President Benson asked for a motion that the minutes of the last meeting be approved as published in the June 1969 issue of the journal "Social Science Quarterly." The motion was made and approved. A motion that nominations be closed and these be declared elected by acclamation passed. Following the election of the Secretary-Treasurer and Editor of the journal, President Benson called on professor Edward P. Richard, University of Texas at Arlington. Professor Richard made a formal request in behalf of the Slavic Studies for formal representation as a separate section in the Southwestern Social Science Association. Upon completion of his request, a motion was made that the Slavic Studies Group be admitted as a formal section of the Association.

The meeting was called to order by Association President H.J. Friedsam and the minutes of the last meeting were approved as reported in the June 1969 issue of the journal "Social Science Quarterly." William E. Swyers distributed copies of his report as Secretary-Treasurer of the Association. Following the report of the Secretary-Treasurer, President Friedsam asked professor John Willingham, Chairman of the Auditing Committee, to give his report. Professor Willingham stated that a standard short-form opinion as to the fairness of the Comparative Statement of Receipts and Disbursements for the Southwestern Social Science Association for the fiscal period ending February 28, 1970 was given by his committee. Professor Leonard Benson, Chairman of the Local Arrangements Committee, was asked to give a report pertaining to the activities of his committee during the past year. Professor Benson stated he wished to express his appreciation to William E. Swyers and his staff and professor Anthony Lis, General Program Chairman for their help and assistance.
