The article discusses the conflict between traditional taxi drivers and Marfil Marrón drivers in Mexico City, Mexico in January 1950. At issue is the competition posed by the uniformed drivers of Marfil after the Supreme Court has eliminated a decree that limits cab licenses. A demonstration was staged by the Club de Choferes Lázaro Cárdenas and Cab Drivers Syndicate. Two drivers died and 366 were arrested at the Trolleymen's Alliance hall during an indignation meeting.
