The primary aim of this paper is to describe and analyze the process of conversion and the patterning of Christian experience in barrio Malitbog in central Panay, in the Philippines. To date, there are three religious systems existing in the barrio. These are the traditional religion, Roman Catholicism, and Protestantism. Malitbog traditional religion constitutes the basic framework of the local belief system. it has persisted through time, side by side with the other two religious organizations, without losing much of its identity. In fact, many of the people's activities in the barrio today are still defined in its context. Roman Catholicism came into the area with the arrival of the Spaniards in 1569 and Protestantism with the Americans in 1900. Malitbog is one of the small, rural communities in central Panay. It is located at the foot of the mountain range which runs through the island from north to south. The people of Malitbog are closely attached to their community and they are very sensitive about this identity.
