The article presents the author's comments on the research paper by professor Elmore Petersen published in the April 2, 1940 issue of the "Journal of Marketing." The geographic economy of Denver, Colorado is used as an example of trading area research. Differences between the Denver market and the market in Akron, Ohio are noted. A survey of locational factors in manufacturing from Akron is referenced. Many companies reported geographic changes in their trade areas due to the depression and rubber companies' decentralization.
The article reports on the economic stability in Denver, Colorado after Webb & Knapp Co., New York Realtors purchased two buildings downtown Denver including the Paramount building and the Kittredge building.
