The article focuses on the doctrine of U.S. President Richard Nixon. The doctrine has been the subject of debate among nations, to the U.S. allies it seemed as a backing down on the agreements by the U.S. with them. Nixon doctrine promises that the U.S. will serve its allies with military support and will also act as the world's policemen. The U.S. has reduced its forces in Asia and according to Nixon's doctrine the main purpose of lowering the military from Asia is to avoid getting into another situation like Vietnam. The U.S. will also arms supplies to the Asian nations including South Korea, Thailand and Taiwan according to Nixon doctrine.
