In this article, which is abstracted from a paper delivered at the 1931 meeting of the British Association, Dr. Myers discusses the influence on output of such factors as the size of the output-unit and the introduction of rest pauses and changes of work. He makes a distinction between practice and training, and discusses the effects of practice and training on skill and the 'transfer' of training. Other points with which he deals are the existence of types of intelligence, the relation between interest and ability, the testing of temperamental traits and their influence on industrial efficiency and on liability to accidents.
