P.)General CommentSummaryPerhaps the setting of this study, which extends over a 10-year period, should be described at the outset. The patients reported were admitted, at various times, to the neurosurgical service of one of us (W. P.) in the Montreal Neurological Institute. The earlier cases were studied there by C. B. (now of Hôpital Notre Dame, Montreal). In 1952 H. H. (Hôpital Ste. Anne, Paris) spent a six-month period in Montreal, and many of these patients were called back so that he might study them carefully in the light of his previous interest in parietal lobe function. The remaining author, R. M. (Department of Psychiatry of McGill University), undertook special psychological studies of these patients.The argument,
