The revival of French monarch Jeanne D'Arc's cult is a distinct form of patriotism. She saved France at the time of the English invasion. She took her young King to Reims, a city in north east France, and saw him crowned. She certainly is one of the most fascinating and political figures in history of France. But the French nation has not always looked upon her with the same eyes as it does now. The Roman Church has never been willing to beatify Jeanne D'Arc and to give her a place among the saints. The reasons for this opposition are obvious: Jeanne D'Arc was condemned by an ecclesiastical tribunal.

When trials for heresy first began, they were based on two assumptions that the tribunal could condemn the culprit to torment in the next life and that heresy was a contagious disease, which could be prevented from spreading, or stamped out, if taken in time, by killing the persons infected with it. In those days, trials for heresy were such that the judges and defendants were simply rival literary critics, whose opportunities of becoming acquainted with the divine will were about equally good, and in which the court claimed no jurisdiction.

It also notes that the findings prohibited the Bakers to take Communion or at congregational meetings.

The article reports on the new religious ceremony of Pope Paul VI in creating a Roman Catholic Cardinals in Rome. It states that Paul VI simplifies the ceremony of the 27 clerics and cut the number of consistories from four to two including the quaint little ceremony that symbolizes the duty of cardinals to advise the Pope and the obligation to keep secret. Francisco Franco, head of state of Spain conducted the ceremony for Archbishop Angel Herrera Y Oria of Malaga as part of the tradition.
