A double-blind cross-over trial was conducted in 23 patients comparing the analgesic effect of floctafenine 200 mg with placebo, in chronic pain, each being given for a period of 1 week. There was statistically significant evidence that floctafenine was more effective than placebo in the relief of pain. Miscellaneous side-effects, none of a serious nature, were reported.
