The article views on educational programs designed for college teachers. The programs provide for preparation in the candidate's instructional field. Graduates of these programs have the authority to identify the field of specialization in connection with the degree title. The requirements needed for the Doctor of Education degree in college teaching include a minimum of three academic years. It is equivalent to ninety semester points of graduate course work. On the other hand, a candidate for admission to a program for college teaching must have completed a master's degree, must have achieved high scores on the Graduate Record Examination, and must have completed at least one semester of course work in his Teachers College department during his master's degree program.
