The article focuses on the dominance of the International Business Machines Corp. (IBM), and on several computer companies competing against the global business revenue of IBM in the U.S. computer market. It mentions that two of the world's biggest corporations, General Electric Co. (GE) and Radio Corp. of America (RCA), have dropped out its computer manufacturing sales in 1970 wherein each of them had lost more than 100 million dollars. It states that Honeywell International Inc. in Minneapolis, Minnesota bought GE plants in the U.S. and became the competitor of IBM in three categories. The executives of Honeywell claims that the purchase will extend their research and marketing efforts that will allow the company to match IBM.
