The article discusses the evolution and interrelations of life in the sea in the U.S. The Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co. together with John Mero are attempting to harvest Phosphorite nodules, which are rich in valuable fertilizer phosphate having a high commercial value. Among the group of living things growing in the sea are plants having vitamins, amino acids and nucleic acids. The living economy of the sea composes of animals known as zooplankton that includes myriads of single-celled protozoans. Several fundamental questions concerning the classification of marine microorganisms and its importance to biogeochemical phenomena, and the byproducts of commercial of antibiotics, vitamins, organic acids and alcohol derived from marine microorganism
