Abstract

The article discusses on views concerning the problem of inspection in relation with the ban on underground tests. The Western delegates supported international seismic stations along with obligatory on-site inspections by an international control commission, while the Eastern proposals with control on international control of seismic data and with optional on-site inspections. The committees used the proposal by the eight neutral countries as a basis for finding solution. The suggestions includes automatic recording stations, a large number of seismic stations, the commission may at any time request the immediate return of the sealed instruments and the sealed automatic seismographs will be placed in Soviet Union and can be manufactured or purchased by the U.S. and vice versa.
