Abstract

The article reports on the enactment of six-mill tax on the gross receipts of the nonprofit institutions, including its colleges and universities in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The tax, believed to be the first of its kind in the nation, would be levied on all institutional receipts for services, including tuition, dormitory rentals, and cafeteria sales.
