The author describes in this work some orchids new to South America and in others he expands their distribution or modifies their systematic position. The new entities created are: Sobralia parviflora, Granichis castellanosi, Cranichis parviflora, Malaxis quadrata, Centropetalum lanceolatum and Pachyphyllum nubivagum. The species that pass from genus are: Codonorchis tetraphylla (Poepp. Et Endl.) Williams (Pogonia tetraphylla Poeppig-Endlicher), Cranichis lehmanniana (Kränzl.) Williams (Goodyera lehmanniana (Kränzlin), Spiranthes castillonchus (Hauman), Williams (Steniiorrhynchus Hauman), Pachyphyllum costaricense (A. et S.) Williams (Centropetalum costaricensis Ames et Schweinfurth); finally, he establishes the identity of the Habenaria paivacana Reichenbach f. With the Habenaria angustiloba Lillo et Hauman and changes the name of Cranichis micrantha Gris. Cranichis parviflora Williams.
