Some new alkoxythallium(III) compounds of olefins, C6H5C(R1)(OR3)CH2Tl(OCOR2)2 [I], are prepared from styrene and α-methylstyrene with thallium(III) acetate and isobutyrate in various alcohols. I(R1=H) reacts with copper(I) iodide, bromide, chloride, cyanide and thiocyanate to afford the corresponding alkyl halides and pseudohalides, C6H5CH(OR3)CH2X [II], in various organic solvents, acetonitrile being the solvent of choice for the purpose of preparing II. The addition of potassium salt has a remarkable effect in improving the yield of II. The halo- and pseudohalodethallation occur at the position where thallium is attached previously to alkyl carbon. An ionic concerted intermolecular scheme is proposed as a reaction mechanism for the preparation of II. The data of NMR and IR spectra of I are briefly discussed.

Free-radical copolymerization of 2-isopropenyl-2-oxazoline (IPOZ) with styrene (ST) and methyl meth-acrylate (MMA) was carried out at 60°C. The reactivity of IPOZ (Q=0.81 and e=0.35) was nearly equal to that of MMA. In the radical polymerization of IPOZ in the presence of ZnCl2, the initial polymerization rate and the specific viscosity of the resulting polymer increased with an increase in the concentration of ZnCl2. The tacticities of the polymer determined by the NMR spectrum of the polymer obtained by radical polymerization showed that the content of syndiotactic triads of the polymer obtained in the absence of ZnCl2 was greater than that in the presence of ZnCl2. In the radical copolymerization of IPOZ (Mjand styrene (M2) in the presence of ZnCl2, the apparent reactivity ratio r1 increased with an increase in the ZnCl2 molar content, whereas r2 decreased. 研究目的より構造の基準となる安定よりは, いかにあるべきかを構造力学の観点から解明する.研究結果より構造がいかなるところにて安定するかは, 与えられた条件のもとで, 素線が形ずくるべきより構造において保有する弾性抵抗モーメントが, 最小値をとるところであることを構造力学から解析し, 実験的に裏ずけされる.安定よりは単なる幾何的のものではなく, 構造力学の領域の問題である.従って素材の曲げこわさ (EI), ねじりこわさ (GIr) の関連を拔きにしては考えられない.逆に安定もろよりから, これを構成する素材の曲げこわさとねじりこわさの関連を知り得る方法も見出せる.線束のもろよりの安定においても, その成形弾性モーメントの最小値のところにてこれが求められる.このとき線束軸に及ぼす曲げの効果は, 普通相殺関係にて考えられることがある.

研究目的糸, 布の柔剛にかかわる弾性変形は, 構造変形によるところが大きい.より構造のより軸方向の伸縮による弾性変形と, これに伴う力との関係を探り, より構造の基本性格を解明する.研究結果より構造がより軸方向の弾性変形をひき起すための力は, より構造に前もって与えられている曲げモーントとねしりモーメントの有無によって容稲が異なることを, 解式をもって示す.これをもって, 各種形式のより構造において安定すべきところは, 構造変形に伴う力のモーメントが最小値を示すところを求むることによって定められる.弾性係数, 剛性係数の関連は, より構造の弾性変形の性格に影響を与えるところが多く, より構造を取扱う上に素材の弾性率, 剛性率はもとよりながら, その断面の形状も取り上げらるべき一面てある.不安定な状態におかれたより構造は, 当然落つこうとする傾向を常に包藏する.その傾向の有無程度か糸, 布の伸縮の一因をなし, より糸のキンク発生は安定過程の結果現象てある.

研究目的撚りの構成されるとき, 塑性変形はどのように起り影響するかを, 構造力学の観点から片付ける.研究結果撚り成形では, 比較的大きい変形が営まれるもので, 普通の素材では弾性の域を越えて一部セットし, 成形抵抗は残畄弾性のモーメントに関するものとなる.結果的に考えれば, 加工セットしたものを撚ることの扱いになる.直線がその軸を撚り角ψによられると, ねじりと曲げの変形を起す.この場合, ねじり率αと曲げ率との比はα/β=cotψであって, 変る割合はdα/dβ=cot2ψとなる.これをもって, 普通扱われる撚り角の範囲ではねじり変形が曲げ変形よりはるかに優位し, 撚りの操作ではねじりに関連する事柄を重視しなければならないことがわかる.そこで, 実際どうであるか, 安定撚りを取りあげて, 理論式解析と実験結果とで解明した.

研究目的より構造におけるより軸方向の縮まり, より半径方向の細まりを解析し, またより軸を曲げる力, より操作における接触抵抗を検討する.研究結果より構造の変形の特異性の基本解析を一応終る.そしておよそより構造が採られる理由は (1) 曲げとねじり変形によって対処する特異な弾性構造の形成(2) より操作によって招来される接触抵抗がもたらす不連続繊維の連続性の増大と結論する.

Treatment of alkoxythallates of styrene with PdCl2 in MeOH gave acetophenone or its alkyl acetal through Tl–Pd transmetallation.
