In present time market related to manufacturing sector is dynamic in nature especially in relation to technological innovation. This trend put pressure on the firms to perform well in the market and satisfy the customers according to their needs. Which further give rise to competitiveness among the firms. Therefore core functional competencies are being used by the companies to fight the competition. This paper deals with a case study conducted in SML ISUZU, Punjab. The company comes under manufacturing sector. From the study it has been observed that the main factors that are technical competency, concept (idea) competency and material & equipment related competency affect the performance of the company.
