The positively charged nanofiltration membrane (NF) has a strong repulsive effect on divalent magnesium ions, thus could be applied for the separation of Mg2+/Li+. Chemical grafting modification is an effective way to prepare positively charged membranes. However, it is difficult to achieve chemical modification on the surface of polyamide membrane as the chemical stability of polyamide. By introducing hydroxyl rich monomers (3-[n-tris(hydroxymethyl)methylamino]−2-hydroxypropanesulfonic, HMAH) as active sites in the interfacial polymerization process, the olefin monomers containing quaternary ammonium salt functional groups (acryloxyethyl trimethyl ammonium chloride, ATA) were reacted onto the surface of NF membrane through radical polymerization initiated by cerium ions to obtain positively charged NF membrane. The successful grafting reaction of quaternary ammonium salt monomer onto the surface of NF membrane was verified by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The membrane with dense and smooth surface layer showed C-N+ characteristic peak in XPS N1s spectra and high isoelectric point. Meanwhile, the as-prepared membrane achieved high MgCl 2 rejection of 95.74% and low LiCl rejection of 18.1%, with pure water permeance of 9.43 L·m−2·h−1·bar−1. After 60 hours of mixture filtration experiment, the membrane exhibited good long-term stability, maintaining the ionic separation selectivity over 30, which indicated that the positively charged membrane prepared by grafting method has potential application in the separation of Mg2+/Li+. Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the common microvascular complications of diabetes mellitus and is the main cause of visual impairment in diabetic patients. The pathogenesis of DR is still unclear. The complement system, as an important component of the innate immune system in addition to defending against the invasion of foreign microorganisms, is involved in the occurrence and development of DR through 3 widely recognized complement activation pathways, the complement regulatory system, and many other pathways. Molecules such as C3a, C5a, and membrane attacking complex, as important molecules of the complement system, are involved in the pathologenesus of DR, either through direct damaging effects or by activating cells (microglia, macroglia, etc.) in the retinal microenvironment to contribute to the pathological damage of DR indirectly. Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is an aggressive and deadly malignancy characterized by late-stage diagnosis, therapy resistance, and a poor 5-year survival rate. Finding novel therapeutic targets and their inhibitors for ESCC prevention and therapy is urgently needed. We investigated the proviral integration site for maloney murine leukemia virus 3 (Pim-3) protein levels using immunohistochemistry. Using Methyl Thiazolyl Tetrazolium and clone formation assay, we verified the function of Pim-3 in cell proliferation. The binding and inhibition of Pim-3 by corynoline were verified by computer docking, pull-down assay, cellular thermal shift assay, and kinase assay. Cell proliferation, Western blot, and a patient-derived xenograft tumor model were performed to elucidate the mechanism of corynoline inhibiting ESCC growth. Pim-3 was highly expressed in ESCC and played an oncogenic role. The augmentation of Pim-3 enhanced cell proliferation and tumor development by phosphorylating mitogen-activated protein kinase 1 (MAPK1) at T185 and Y187. The deletion of Pim-3 induced apoptosis with upregulated cleaved caspase-9 and lower Bcl2 associated agonist of cell death (BAD) phosphorylation at S112. Additionally, binding assays demonstrated corynoline directly bound with Pim-3, inhibiting its activity, and suppressing ESCC growth. Our findings suggest that Pim-3 promotes ESCC progression. • Ktrans as a priori information is beneficial for the segmentation of NPC in DCE-MRI. • A network model MBRU-Net for multi-branch feature extraction is proposed. • Multi-branch networks outperform single-branch networks. Accurate segmentation of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) lesion areas from dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) facilitates subsequent diagnostic and prognostic workups. However, in previous studies, little consideration has been given to incorporating the pharmacokinetic feature Ktrans as auxiliary information for segmenting NPC in DCE-MRI. Therefore, this paper proposes the use of a pharmacokinetic extended Tofts and Kermode (ETK) model to obtain the Ktrans feature from DCE-MRI and combine it with MRI images for nasopharyngeal tumor segmentation. Additionally, this paper proposes a multi-input branch residual U-Net (MBRU-Net) model that effectively fuses DCE-MRI features and Ktrans features. The effectiveness of the multibranch network is validated by comparing MBRU-Net with ResU-Net with DCE-MRI + Ktrans data. Additionally, different models are trained with DCE-MRI and DCE-MRI + Ktrans data separately and compared to validate the effectiveness of multimodal data using the Dice coefficient. Our proposed MBRU-Net achieves the best Dice in this study (67.39 ± 15.79%), higher than ResU-Net's Dice (65.57 ± 17.52) based on DCE-MRI and Ktrans data. U-Net, SegNet, R2U-Net, and ResU-Net achieve better results in terms of segmenting tumor regions with DCE-MRI + Ktrans data than those of the corresponding models with DCE-MRI data alone, where U-Net has the best performance (DCE-MRI + Ktrans: DCE-MRI = 66.31 ± 17.80%: 61.10 ± 24.14%). The results show that it is beneficial to add a pharmacokinetic parametric (Ktrans) map as prior information to the conventional anatomical MRI-based segmentation task, and multibranch network structures perform better than single-branch network structures in terms of NPC segmentation. The flooding and diversion of the Yellow River is a major concern for the Chinese. Since the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States periods, historical documents have recorded many events of the Yellow River's migration and diversion, but there are few records of earlier events. The ancient Daluze Lake, located in the transitional area between the North China Plain and the Taihang Mountains, has been greatly affected by the Yellow River's flooding throughout history. The sediment in the lake continuously recorded the regional environmental evolution information, which is of significant value for studying prehistoric floods of the Yellow River and the interactive effects of early human activities and natural environment. Using a combination of geophysical, geochemical, and biological properties of drilling sediments, we establish the climate and vegetation evolution history in the ancient Daluze region since the Middle Holocene, and discuss a migration event of the Yellow River in the Middle Holocene. The results suggest that: 1) Since Mid-Holocene, the ancient vegetation of the Daluze area has always been a temperate mixed coniferous-broadleaf forest type of sparse forest-grassland, but its internal structure has changed: the local vegetation experienced a transition from sparse forest-grassland vegetation to grassland-meadow expansion, while in the middle of the Holocene (∼ca. 4.04 ka) forest vegetation began to show a growth trend. 2) At about ca. 4.04 ka, an environmental anomaly event occurred in the ancient Daluze area, with grain size and other indicators changed significantly, indicating that the Yellow River may have undergone a migration: the mainstream of the Yellow River changed from northward to southward and forced the ancient humans of the Longshan Culture and Dawenkou Culture periods to construct ramparts to prevent flood disasters caused by the migration of the mainstream of the Yellow River. The study deepens the understanding of the environmental evolution history and human-environment relationship of the Daluze area to some extent, and provides some theoretical basis for local ecological restoration and sustainable development. Spinal cord injury (SCI) presents profound ramifications for patients, leading to diminished motor and sensory capabilities distal to the lesion site. Once SCI occurs, it not only causes great physical and psychological problems for patients but also imposes a heavy economic burden. Ezrin is involved in various cellular processes, including signal transduction, cell death, inflammation, chemotherapy resistance and the stress response. However, whether Ezrin regulates functional repair after SCI and its underlying mechanism has not been elucidated. Here, our results showed that there is a marked augmentation of Ezrin levels within neurons and Ezrin inhibition markedly diminished glial scarring and bolstered functional recuperation after SCI. RNA sequencing indicated the potential involvement of pyroptosis, oxidative stress and autophagy in the enhancement of functional recovery upon reduced Ezrin expression. Moreover, the inhibition of Ezrin expression curtailed pyroptosis and oxidative stress by amplifying autophagy. Our studies further demonstrated that Ezrin inhibition promoted autophagy by increasing TFEB activity via the Akt-TRPML1-calcineurin pathway. Finally, we concluded that inhibiting Ezrin expression alleviates pyroptosis and oxidative stress by enhancing TFEB-driven autophagy, thereby promoting functional recovery after SCI, which may be a promising therapeutic target for SCI treatment. Seven undescribed tannins, namely gejaponin A-G, and one dehydrodigallic acid derivative 3,4-dihydroxy-5-(3,4,5-trihydroxy-1-ethoxycarbonyl phenoxy)benzoic acid, together with eighteen known polyphenols were isolated from the 95% ethanol extract of the aerial part of Geum japonicum Thunb. var. chinense F. Bolle. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of comprehensive analysis of UV, IR, NMR, HRMS, and CD spectroscopy experiments. To evaluate their bioactivities, sixteen major compounds were selected to intervene in hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2)-induced oxidative damage on H9c2 rat cardiomyoblasts. Some compounds demonstrated high activity in this assay, of which, the known compounds 16 and 21 exhibited strong protective effects against H 2 O 2 -induced injury in H9c2 rat cardiomyoblasts, with a comparable cardioprotective activity as that of the positive control trimetazidine, thereby revealing cardioprotective activities from G. japonicum var. chinense.
